Voting Question: What do you think of my story?
Here is chapter one of my story (I'm not asking about grammar I just want to know what you think of the plot so far. Also i have chapter 2 done and i am working on number 3 right now) On the first day of my adventure I woke up to my favorite song “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi. Of course at the time I had no idea what was about to happen “Morning already?” I groaned. Suddenly my eyes shot open as I realized what day it was “It’s the first day of summer vacation and yesterday was my last day of 12th grade…that means freedom!” suddenly the phone rang “Hello?” I said when I picked up the phone it was my friend Mike on the other line. “Hey Michael,” said Mike “’Sup?” I asked casually “Not much, you?” “I just woke up,” “You just woke up? Dude it’s like 1 in the afternoon,” “So? It’s not like there’s school today,” “Dude there was a snow make up day today you missed school today and they said anyone who didn’t show loses their diploma and has to repeat the 12th grade,” “…what? Are you serious?!” I asked, panicking “Nope I’m just screwin’ with you,” “I’ll get you for that,” “You say that every time and yet you never do,” “Just you wait you’ll never see it coming,” “Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard it all before anyway I gotta go, talk to you later,” “Bye,” I said and hung up. Mike and I have been friends since grade school some people say it was fate because they had we same first and middle names, and, although it was fate, our names had nothing to do with it. Mike was the always the prankster and I always tried to get him back but never succeeded but I would always dream of the day when I would win, little did I know it would actually happen…but that’s for later. I walked outside, locked up my house, turned on the alarm, put Moose, my St. Bernard outside, and got in my car. I didn’t know where I was going I just knew I would drive until I felt like stopping I was free and that’s all I cared about. I was driving for a few hours and that’s when it happened. I was just driving along minding my own business when someone ran right in front of my car. I slammed on my brakes to try and stop in time but I still hit the guy and totaled my car. I immediately got out of the car to see if the guy was ok. “Hey man I’m so sorry you alright?” I asked the guy lying on the street. I turned the man over to see the blood coming from my forehead “Oh my god I think I killed him.” The man’s eyes slowly opened as I reached into my pocket “Take this and go to this address,” he said handing me a piece of paper “Tell him…Cerb sent you” and with those last words the man passed away and I walked to the gas station 2 miles away and called Mike. “Dude you gotta help me I think I killed a guy,” I said “What?! Where are you?!” “I’m at a gas station at where we used to drive,” “Alright I’ll be over ASAP,” “Thanks dude oh and bring 2 shovels.” A few hours later Mike showed up at the gas station “Come on I’ll take you there,” and they went to the crash site but my car was fine and there was no body “What the hell happened? My car was totaled,” I said “Well it looks fine now,” Mike replied not believing me. “You think I’m making this up!?” I asked now scared “Well earlier you did threaten to get me back,” “I didn’t mean like this,” “It’s over Michael you won I’m going home.” And with that Mike walked away and went back home. I stayed and looked at my car to make sure it was fine. I reached into my pocket, pulled out the paper with the address and ripped it up. After that I got in my car and drove to the gas station. I looked at my gas gauge. “Empty,” I muttered. I walked inside grabbed a soda and some snacks for the road and gave the cashier 20 dollars “Number 6,” “My favorite number,” the cashier replied. As I was leaving the cashier called back to him “Sir, I think you forgot something,” I walked back to the register to see a piece of paper “Tell anyone of our meeting and you will regret it, now then you will go to this address tomorrow or I will find you,” I grabbed the paper ran to the car and turned it on. When I looked in the gas station the guy at the register smiled a wicked smile and I glanced at the gas gauge and saw it was full and saw the 20 dollars in my cup holder and drove off. The next morning I woke up lazily, looked outside saw the bright sun and partial clouds and remembered the previous day instantly. “I’m not going to let my life be controlled by some creep I’ve never even met.” I carried on with my day normally which consisted of video games, eating, and watching television. This time as I was watching my favorite show the screen went fuzzy, turned off, and the man from earlier showed up on the screen. “Go to the address. Go to the address,” I repeated over and over. I tried changing the channel but it didn’t work. I tried turning off the TV. Nothing. I tried unplugging it, muting it,I have never seen secret life of the american teenager I've just always liked the name moose for a St. Bernard but i will change it anyway. moreVoting Question: I need help fast!!Please!! Every year I go with my parents and brother to Argentina because the rest of my family is there. It is so boring since we don't do to tourism or anything. We bought an apartement, and I hate it because its all white, with white marble floors and it's so big and empty it seriously scares me at night, like seriously. I can't fall asleep at all. I feel like every time I open a door at night a murderer will pop out with an ax or something. I hate going there also because we go 6 weeks normally. And my dad comes for the last 2 weeks. My mom always leaves us home alone all day. I run out of books to read the first week and we dont have TV. Im not alowed to walk 2 blocks to rent a movie either! We went for the summer ( its winter there) and now my parents are trying to convince me to go for Christmas and New Year's. They are trying to guilt me into it, saying that my only grandparent left is sick and my mom needs to see him... I understand THAT! I am a sucker for guilt. Why can't my mom go during the october vacation by herself?? I don't want to go! I need help trying to convince my parents I don't want to go! They don't listen to me when i try to tell them anything, they just lecture me until I just walk away. And they always say the same thing. Once, I didn't walk away, and they ended up lecturing me for 2 hours straight!! I NEED HELP!I know I am being selfish. I can't help it. Please read everything. Try to understand me. Whole days lying around on the couch. And whole nights crying because I'm so scared. It's HORRIBLE not to be able to sleep in your own house!I want to spend Christmas at my OWN house! And don't get mad at me for saying this. I am not superficial or anything... but for two years I have wanted a good bike and my parents promised me they would get me one but they can't if we are in Argentina. I like to spend New Years at home with family friends doing Karaoke. all we do with the family is have dinner. no singing, no music. just food moreResolved Question: My best friend barely talks to me now ?

Today they did the same thingg so i talked with my other friend(H) and told her everything. She was like yea, during the summer they hung out like everyday and did everything together while H knew M more years than my bff. We talked and we talked. M and my bff didnt even bother to welcome us into their conversation and there was an empty seat next to me and M but when my bff came in she sat next to M. and by the way, I think M is doing this cuz M was my bffs first bff but then i came in.... Any help ??? moreResolved Question: I am so terrified about getting a letter from my school? Please help!?
Well hello. I am 14 years old and going into Grade 10. Yes I am a girl. Well, every year, the school mails a letter during the second last week of summer vacation that has our timetable inside with out class times, and lunch times. Last year, was so terrible, almost none of my friends were in my classes, and my best best best friend didn't have the same lunch time or any classes with me. I didn't have any lunch periods with my friends, so I was all alone at lunch! So I went from being super popular and happy to being depressed last year! Well, I kept saying, its ok, grade 10 will be amazing! Now, I am going to get the letter either tomorrow or the day after and I am terrified! What if I am not in the same classes as my friends, I don't think I can get through another year! And I am friends with pretty much everyone, but my REAL friends, are the ones I want to be close to. Last year, I got health problems from stress because I had to do Taekwondo which I hated, and I had major memory loss problems and headaches, and I had to go to the doctor and he gave me pills and told me I am very stressed, and I have never been stressed before ever. All weekend, I kept thinking, the letter, the letter. Last night, when I went to sleep, there was a possibility the letter could come today (but it didn't) so I had this dream last night. Ok, in the dream, I was all alone in the library reading like I did last year, and the library was empty. Everyone was in classes, and only some guys from older classes were at lunch. I got up all alone and walked to go get lunch in my dream, and then the dream sorta shifted and I saw my best friend and they were with this other person I don't like and I was screaming their name running towards them and I grabbed their schedule from their hands. Then I took my schedule out of my backpack and I looked at them, and they were completley different, and then I saw another one of my friends and they were FAT and they didn't have classes with me either, and I fell on the ground and I was like breaking down and crying this year is going to be just like last year, then I quickly woke up, and screamed no and I was sweating when I woke up and I was so scared and shaky and I had to talk into my self... it was a dream. I am very worried, please give me some advice to help! Remember I am only 14, I know school is about learning, but this is very important to me. I have had a very complex life. moreResolved Question: Trouble Moving Out of My Parents' House?
Ok, here it goes. I'm 23 years old and I currently live at home with my parents. I went out of town for undergrad for 4 years, to a top 20 institution. After graduation, I was promised by my parents that I can take a year off before applying to medical schools. That year has gone by, which wasn't really a vacation/break but more like doing slave work for the family. 6 months went into being my brother's wedding planner (a lot harder than it seems) and the other 6 months went into being a campaign manager for my dad who was running for a really important election (he won, only thanks to my help). I used to spend hours and hours working on his campaign, way more than him, I would have to be glued to my computer all 6 months in case he needed something. Regardless, I have been home the past year and was an ANGELIC child for a 23 year old. I don't drink, don't party, I would always be home and if I went out they would know where I was (and by going out that means going to the mall at 6 pm and I would be home by 9 pm, when malls close of course). I finally realized they had too much control over me and I had enough of it. My high school friends were home for the summer so I began hanging out with them, going out to eat and sometimes to bars, staying out late until 2 or 3 am. My parents started going crazy, they would call a billion times and even drive out to where I was to make sure I was where I said I was... I am definitely ready to move out of the house and get on my own feet and HERE'S THE PROBLEM. My parents have been financially supporting me all my life, I have never had a job and technically never earned any money. However, I am ready to go out in the world and stand on my own 2 feet, I want to learn these things and be independent before I get married and then have my spouse to answer to about where I am and who I am with. Even while I was in college out of town my parents made sure they knew where I was at all times, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. My parents are terrified of their daughter moving out, not because they would be lonely but because it would ruin their reputation and they would have to answer to people about where their daughter disappeared to. They do anything and everything to stop me from leaving...here's an example: -Immediately empty my bank account as soon as I tell them I might leave. -Take away the car when I tell them I want to get a job. -Confiscate my cell phone when they find out I am talking/texting friends late at night or when I'm in "trouble". -Now it has come down to one parent being at home at all times to ensure that I don't leave, and they leave the alarm on so they hear a beep if I even open the door of the house. It has been 2 weeks and I haven't even had a breath of fresh air, aside from what I can get from my window on the 2nd floor of the house. ALL I WANT IS TO GET OUT OF HERE!!! I am currently studying for the MCAT and my goal is to go to medical school come this December. In the meantime, however, I want to be free and not have to answer to people about where I am all the time. I personally don't think it's fair for them to control me so much, I mean, they won't even let me try to be independent and when I threaten to leave, they basically kidnap me and lock me up in the house. ANY ADVICE ON WHAT I SHOULD DO??? I FEEL LIKE I AM STARTING TO REBEL JUST TO MAKE THEM MAD AND TO ENJOY LIFE, KNOWING THAT I AM IGNORING THEIR CALLS AND GOING PLACES WITHOUT TELLING THEM WHERE I AM GOING. I NEED ADVICE ON HOW TO GET OUT WITH LITERALLY NOTHING BUT THE CLOTHES ON MY BACK!!! By the way, I am Pakistani and Muslim. My parents are blessed in America, my Dad makes a few million dollars a year working as a physician. They think that because they support me I should have to listen to everything they say...so they assume they can buy their child and buy obedience. Please give me advice!!! I am so sick of being locked up (right now I have no phone, no car, no television, and no fresh air!!! I bet soon enough they will disconnect the internet...they've done that before for an entire month. They used to only feed me once a day, leaving food outside the door. I need to get out but people will just say you're so old and 23 you should have left a long time ago. THEY WON'T LET ME GO!!!) I'm going crazy. Sorry this was so long, it's just so complicated I felt like I had to explain everything (and there is a lot more). I hope there are people out there willing to offer advice and maybe talk some more with me. *Sigh* Thanks for listening.Oh, and I have a mild form of epilepsy (totally controlled by medicine) and was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor a few months ago. So when I say I want to leave they also tell me to go out and just try to get medical insurance and I will see how hard it is with my diseases. It really hurts my feelings that they use my illnesses against me (which are beyond my control, there is nothing I did that would cause these medical issues).Oh, more things I remembered last night: -I love medicine & biology but I don't really want to pursue a career in medicine because it would be too difficult...however, they tell me I have to go into medicine and nothing else. -My mom goes through my room (every nook and cranny) whenever I leave the house. She's so nosy that she even goes through the trash when I take it out to the garbage cans. She will secretly take it out and go to the side of the house and go through all the trash, finding receipts or notes. -My mom keeps all these personal things of mine that she finds in the room, such as notes from friends, personal medical records, receipts, and jewelry that she thinks guys bought for me. Every time I get in trouble she blackmails me with those things and threatens to tell my Dad if I don't straighten up. It sure is a pain having to find a billion hiding places for all my personal items when I leave the housefor 10 min just to get Taco Bell or go to Wal-Mart. moreResolved Question: Did your sibling ever go to jail?

Hidden in the back of the armoire in my room, was a chest full of things. I barely noticed it until one day when we were getting ready to pack for my summer vacation. I pulled the chest out the back of the closet and opened it carefully. The chest was not big at all. It was small, and had a red velvet touch to it. On the front of the small trunk read "Upir' Likhyi " I went straight to my computer and clicked on the internet browser. I typed in the exact words. 200,000 results popped up. Most of them were adds about a fashion lines with that name, but then five words caught my name. The meaning of Upir’ Likhyi’. I clinked on the link and waited till it loaded. I read it slowly out loud. “ Upir’ means wicked or foul and Likhyi’ means vampire. The combination of the two words mean wicked or foul vampire. Long ago a priest wrote his name like this, this was a example of paganism.” I stopped at the end of the sentence and walked slowly to the chest. I sat it on my bed and traced my fingers on the lock. It was brittle. I yanked it off making my elbow hit the edge of nightstand. Inside was a journal, a sapphire necklace, and a photo. I stared at the photo trying to make out the persons face. It was a woman, with dark curls. She was very beautiful. She was sitting on the steps of a big castle-like house. I laid he picture on the bed and picked up the sapphire necklace. It was exquisite. The diamonds still shined when it hit the beam of light. I looked in the mirror and carefully placed it on. It felt cold to my skin. I reached for the journal looked brand-new and opened it. It was tied in a silver ribbon. I pulled the ribbon off slowly hoping I wouldn’t tear a page or anything. I turned to the first page of the diary. As I laid in my bed I thought about how the world around me seemed to pause. I was the only one of my kind. Most of the vampires here in Moldavia were either annihilated or burned to ashes. My mom came into the door unexpectedly and scared the heck out of me. I hid the chest behind my pillows and waited till she left. “ Do you want anything to eat?” She said and smiled as her head stuck through the crack of door. ‘ I’ll be down in a minute.” I lied and she left. I pulled back out the journal and began to read again. I yearned for human blood, but knew I should keep hidden. I lost everything, trying to make my life better. I was abandoned by my mother and my dad. In Romania. I was at the edge of death as it was. And I met a old vampire named Karayan. He taught me everything I wanted to know. How this was so and why did he choose me. His answers left me speechless. I had never heard such things in my human life, but then when I was changed into a vampire, I understood well. 20 years passed by and nothing seemed the same. I was a monster, a blood thirsty vampire still. The only thing that calmed me was a human named Raven. Her blood was like fire running through her veins. I couldn’t control myself but she was my love, my beauty. I couldn’t handle it. One night in the woods I snapped her neck and drained her body. Karayan had his own thoughts about me. Selfish, stupid, milquetoast. I knew his thoughts this because I could read everything about him with my power. I stopped reading and put the journal on my bookshelf. Interesting, I thought as I walked down out the door to dinner. Mom was already finished and was packing the rest of her bags in her room. She told me that I could order a pizza because she threw the pizza out. “ Ellie, did you finish packing your stuff.” My mom yelled as I paid the pizza man. “ Thanks,” I smiled at the short girl with blondish-pink hair. She handed me the pizza and my change and smiled back. I closed the door as she left and laid the pizza on the table that was empty. Almost everything was empty because next week we would be moving. I had most of my clothes and things packed. The only thing I had to pack was my books, but the computer and the shelf was fine. The moving van was gonna pick it up. I took a plastic cup out the cabinet and( All the glasses were gone.) poured some orange juice into my cup and drunk it down thirstily. When I finished I was eager to read what was gonna happen next... moreResolved Question: Could someone please write a thesis statment for this report?
Year-round schooling causes stress on both parents and teachers because students are being force to rearrange their life style around the way the school is run. In Raleigh parents of 382 students will be forced to send their children to a year-round middle school due to over crowded public schools in the area (Hui). These students and their families were not giving a choice whether or not they wanted to attend a year-round school program. 382 students are being punished because the school district is refusing to deal with the fact that more schools have to be build. During a 12-week period, all students receive nine weeks of instruction and three weeks of vacation, but only three of the four groups are in school at one time, while the fourth group is on vacation;when the vacation group returns, another group leaves for a three-week vacation (Kneese). This kind of scheduling could cause a problem with families who have more then one student in the high school; if each student is in a different group then scheduling vacations would be nearly impossible. This would be confusing for teachers as well because each group would be a week behind the next, scheduling classes would be more difficult because you would most likely have to pair kids up with other students in their cycle. Year round schooling try to keep rooms at 100 percent capacity, which means a lot of moving on the part of students and teachers (Chaika). This would prove difficult because it would force there to be many roving teachers, meaning teachers would have to transport all their materials with them from classroom to classroom and students would have a more difficult time finding their classes. Maintenance would be difficult if a classroom were not empty during the school day; because of more students in and out of the classroom all day there would be a larger mess with less time to clean it. During the summer months when days become longer and the temperature rises the school enivrement will become uncomfortable (Hui.) The transitional school system was set up to avoid this problem, classrooms would become hot during the summer and students will become sweaty and distracted by their own discomfort. When days are longer the sun goes down later, it will be light out when students are attempting to fall asleep and this will throw off their biological clock. Many supporters of year-round schooling state that students learn nothing over the summer, and that they forget what they have learned during the school year (Carroll). Students do learn during the summer but is it a different kind of learning, they learn through real life experience something school can not teach you. Without summer students would lose out on summer camp and vacations with relatives, summer is a crucial time in a child's life when they learn on their own. moreResolved Question: I've contacted a publisher and waiting to hear back. What’s All the Racket about Recycling? Jimmy and his family had just moved to Wheatharvest Circle. As Jimmy sat on his front porch throwing his baseball up into the air he noticed an older man walking up to his house. “Hello there young man, my name is Harold McGrady, are your parents home?” Harold was a proud citizen of Wheatharvest Circle. He had lived there longer than anyone had. He was in charge of quite a lot besides his family farm that sat on the tallest hill in Wheatharvest. Jimmy ran into the house returning to the front door with his mom and dad. “Hi, my name is Harold, Harold McGrady to be exact and I wanted to invite you all to the old neighborhood. I’ve been a resident of Wheatharvest Circle all my life. I live right up the road there on the hill.” Jimmy’s parents sat on the front porch and talked with Harold for quite sometime. It grew dark outside as the full moon and the stars lit the dark country road. “It’s getting late Jimmy; I’d better get you ready for bed.” Jimmy’s mom said as she held the screen door open for Jimmy. “Well, I won’t keep you folks; it was nice talking to you.” Harold made his way to the stairs as he had his cane to help him. The sun had already risen as it crept through the curtains and onto the hardwood floor of Jimmy’s bedroom. Vroom, vroom, chug, chug, are the sounds Jimmy woke up to as he looked out of his bedroom window in search of where the loud noises were coming from. It was Harold McGrady driving an old truck with piles of junk hauled on the back in canisters. “Where’s he taking all that junk,” Jimmy thought to himself. Just then it was a knock at the door. It was Harold McGrady. “Good morning, this here is my grandson, his name is Cody. He’ll be here all summer on vacation. I told him all about Jimmy so I thought I could take the two of them to the recycling center this morning.” Harold stood with his hands placed on the small shoulders of his grandson. Jimmy was happy to see that there was someone one else in the neighborhood that he could play with during the summer. “I think that’s a great idea. Let me run upstairs and get Jimmy ready” Jimmy’s dad said as he invited Harold and Cody into the house. Just as Jimmy’s dad made it upstairs he noticed Jimmy already dressed sitting on the floor tying his shoes. “You sure did get dressed fast Jimmy.” “Dad did you hear that, recycling. I’ve been wondering about this for a long time and now I get to see how it’s done, wow!” Jimmy was very excited that he would get the chance to see what recycling was all about. They were all set and ready to go. Cody and Jimmy played together like they had been friends for years. Finally arriving at the recycling center Jimmy’s eyes gleamed at all he saw. There was an area for paper, plastic containers, metals and glass. “Okay boys we’re here. We’ll go on the recycling tour first, and then we can drop off everything we brought with us today.” “As we go on the tour everyone will be given a bag of items and for each area we stop in, we want to see if you know where it goes.” It was fun going on the tour Jimmy thought. He was learning so much about recycling. “When you recycle you want to make sure that you place everything in the correct place. All the plastic goes together, all the paper goes together and all of the glass goes together. To keep things tidy you can have a nice plastic bin for each type of recycling you have. Another good thing about recycling is kids can help too.” The tour guide said as she held up the plastic green bin. Cody placed his empty cardboard milk carton in the pile for paper and Jimmy placed his old glass juice bottle in the pile for glass. “The good thing to remember is that recycling makes the earth a better place to live in. It saves energy and it’s useful for everyone to use old things again. Make sure you all recycle, reduce, reuse.” The tour guide finished the tour and everyone was now able to take there items, they brought with them to the areas of the recycling center. “Mr. McGrady we brought so much with us, do you think we will be able to unload everything from the truck?” Jimmy asked as he stood at the end of the truck with Cody unloading the recyclables. “Jimmy, don’t worry it doesn’t take long at all.” “Me and Grandpa sometime have more than this to recycle. You’ll see Jimmy that it’s quite fast.” Harold stood back and looked as Jimmy and Cody loaded all the plastics, glass, and paper in the correct area of the recycling center. Getting down to the last barrel they brought, Jimmy noticed there was nothing else to recycle. “We’re done already, that sure was fast.” Jimmy said as he dusted off his hands. “Told you Jimmy, it was quick and fun. I love coming here with grandpa.” Just then Harold loaded the empty recycle bins on the back of the truck when the tour guide walked over to congratulate Jimmy and Cody on a job well done while recycling.” ‘These are for the two of moreResolved Question: You know your from upstate NY when.....?

I did last summer and it was awesome. Especially one time when we were giving out dental care items, such as toothbrushes, toothpast and mouth wash. These weren't the large items, just the small travel tubes you'd expect to take on vacation. Anyways, I took a couple tubes of toothpaste into the back room, emptied out the toothpaste and replaced it with hemorroid cream. I placed these tubes back in the box and they were eventually handed out to the vagabonds coming in. It was a real hoot watching a couple of bums running around with their mouths puckered shut.I'm so happy that I could piss you douchebags off, morons like you deserve it! HA HA!Ahhh, shut up, Jenn, you old whore! moreTop Summer Vacations Run On Empty Links
