Open Question: Can't remember book title help!?
I think this book was written in the 80's but it was about a girl who was on summer break and ends up meeting this boy while she's on vacation at her beach house. He's like secretive and when she goes back to school after the summer break she finds out he's a teen star on this show I can't remember anymore all I know was it was a great book and I would really appreciate it if you could help me =] moreOpen Question: Teens: does this sound like a good vacation?
For vacation this summer my mom wants to take us to virginia beach for 2 days and then drive up to busch gardens (a theme park/amusment park) and stay there for 3 days. So a 5 day vacation. OR I can stay home and have the whole house to myself, which would be AWSOME. which should I do?and we will be staying at a 4 star hotel for both virginia beach and busch gardens moreOpen Question: Any ideas for a Summer Vacation?
We are trying to pick a place for a family vacation (over the summer), we are a family of 5 including 3 teens. Any family friendly places, that aren't too expensive? We don't mind the mountains or beaches, one of our teens really wants to go to the beach, though. Also, our family is adventurous and loves to do new things. Any ideas? Thanks* We are considering Washington DC, Orlando, and maybe Cancun...if you have any other suggestions, that would be great:) moreOpen Question: Family Vacation ideas?
We are planning our vacation (for the summer) and we need help. We are a family of 5 including 3 teens & Nothing too expensive. We don't mind the beach, or mountains...though one of the teens really want's to go to the beach. We are considering Disney World, and Washington DC, and maybe Cozumel. Any other ideas? If so, please include info about each spot, if you can. Thanks. If it helps, we're in Texas moreResolved Question: What is the Minimum Age requirement for employment in California?
I'm an average 13-year old guy (turning 14 this May), who really wants to get a job :D The only problem is that I've heard people say that its illegal to work until you're 16+ years of age or older.. is that true? If not, how many hours am I allowed to work a week? It's really frustrating to hear people say that, "Oh, you're too young!" Not to be full of myself or anything, but I think I'm mature for my age, and would be very determined to do a good job in what ever I'm employed in! I'm good with people and would be happy and willing to help customers! Will an interviewer still not except me for a job just because of my age? (The job I'm considering is at my local grocery like CVS or Nob Hill.) I hope to work during the summer, but i hear a lot of other teens apply during the summer too. How early should i send in an app if I want to be considered for working during summer vacation? Thanks a lot in advance for helping me out :) Also, check out this link: http://are.berkeley.edu/APMP/pubs/lmd/html/fallwinter_94/caltoughch.html Are those laws recent or have they changed? moreResolved Question: Teen tour for 13 year old under $5,000?
Hi, I am a 13 year old girl and I'm looking for a teen tour to go on this summer. I've looked into many websites but, most are too expensive or out of the country or for older kids. I did look into The California Caper by Rein but, it's a bit too pricey and my mom sees it as simply a big vacation, which she is not willing to pay $6,000 for. So basically, I'm looking for a teen tour under $5,000, in the U.S. that accepts 13 year olds. I'm open to biking trips but, I would like there to be some aspect of kayaking or rafting or something water based. The trip needs to begin after July 5th and preferably in August but, if only July is available I could try to work around that. thanks :D moreVoting Question: What crazy things to do before summer ends should we do?
Me and my friend want to have a really exciting summer and end of the year. We are teens - we don't want and vacations, expensive or general "have a picnic" boring stuff. Things like - Play guitar for money in public (we don't know how to play) is something that would be very different. Help us have the best summer '10! moreVoting Question: Teens:: Help a fellow teen?? You all are able to answer this one if you have ever gone to school =D?
I am going to be a junior at a new school after I move this summer. I am moving to a completely different state, and will know no one. I will be starting school on the first day of the new school year. Once I am comfortable with my surroundings I'm a pretty upbeat, outgoing people person. But since I'm starting in a completely new place I'm a bit nervous (which is to be expected...) I'm nervous mostly about looking like a loner? If that makes sense. Like before school when I get dropped off, what do I do for twenty minutes!? Or during lunch, I might be able to go up to a table and ask if I can sit down, but in case that doesn't work, if I bring a book will I look like a complete freak if I sit alone at a table, reading? I think it's just going to be wierd because since it's the beggining of junior year, everyone already has thier friends and knows everyone from last year (sophomore year) and will be talking about what they did over summer vacation and I'll just be quiet. I know everyone says to be confident, and I can be that way, once I am comfortable in a place. But it's even more difficult because I've never been to school here and don't know anyone at all my age. How can I get passed the "uncomfortable in this place" stage? Any tips on starting school in a new place?? How to seem like the girl that is interesting and everyone wants to talk to again? moreVoting Question: Teens: This or That survey?

I'm going on vacation in march of 2010 and not sure what to bring as in clothes. I know temperatures are around 70s there but not sure if that's cold to bring more fall clothes or spring clothes or even summer clothes. I would like possibly a website i could look into to find a better understanding of what to bring on my vacation that is fashionable but practical for teens. thanks :] moreResolved Question: What would you do??????
I cannot decide what to do this summer. I have two options: A. Work at an Amusement Park. That will give me working experience, money, and free passes to the park. or B. Volunteer at an organic farm, and volunteer at a animal rehabilitation farm. This definitely sounds more fun and interesting, but I will not get paid. Regardless of what I choose, I will be volunteering at a hospital once a week, possibly twice, if I pick up another shift. Also, I am probably going to be gone for 3 weeks out of the summer (1 vacation, 1 for camp, and 1 for friends), should I do option B because of that, I know volunteer work is more flexible than a job. Also, has anyone worked at an amusement park? Is it a good summer job for a teen? I will be 17, by the way.The only thing I'm afraid of is the amusement park being absolutly disgusting....I say adventureland over the weekend.... moreResolved Question: If you could tell the girls that made the pregnancy pact?
What you tell them? As summer vacation begins, 17 girls at Gloucester High School are expecting babies — more than four times the number of pregnancies the 1,200-student school had last year. Some adults dismissed the statistic as a blip. Others blamed hit movies like Juno and Knocked Up for glamorizing young unwed mothers. But principal Joseph Sullivan knows at least part of the reason there's been such a spike in teen pregnancies in this Massachusetts fishing town. School officials started looking into the matter as early as October, after an unusual number of girls began filing into the school clinic to find out if they were pregnant. By May, several students had returned multiple times to get pregnancy tests, and on hearing the results, "some girls seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were," Sullivan says. All it took was a few simple questions before nearly half the expecting students, none older than 16, confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. Then the story got worse. "We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy," the principal says, shaking his head. (Read "Gloucester Principal Stands by Story.") The question of what to do next has divided this fiercely Catholic enclave. Even with national data showing a 3% rise in teen pregnancies in 2006 — the first increase in 15 years — Gloucester isn't sure it wants to provide easier access to birth control. In any case, many residents worry that the problem goes much deeper. The past decade has been difficult for this mostly white, mostly blue-collar city (pop. 30,000). In Gloucester, perched on scenic Cape Ann, the economy has always depended on a strong fishing industry. But in recent years, such jobs have all but disappeared overseas, and with them much of the community's wherewithal. "Families are broken," says school superintendent Christopher Farmer. "Many of our young people are growing up directionless." (See the top 10 news stories of 2008.) The girls who made the pregnancy pact — some of whom, according to Sullivan, reacted to the news that they were expecting with high fives and plans for baby showers — declined to be interviewed. So did their parents. But Amanda Ireland, who graduated from Gloucester High on June 8, thinks she knows why these girls wanted to get pregnant. Ireland, 18, gave birth her freshman year and says some of her now pregnant schoolmates regularly approached her in the hall, remarking how lucky she was to have a baby. "They're so excited to finally have someone to love them unconditionally," Ireland says. "I try to explain it's hard to feel loved when an infant is screaming to be fed at 3 a.m." (Read "Gloucester Pregnancy Plot Thickens.") The high school has done perhaps too good a job of embracing young mothers. Sex-ed classes end freshman year at Gloucester, where teen parents are encouraged to take their children to a free on-site day-care center. Strollers mingle seamlessly in school hallways among cheerleaders and junior ROTC. "We're proud to help the mothers stay in school," says Sue Todd, CEO of Pathways for Children, which runs the day-care center. (See the people who mattered in 2008.) But by May, after nurse practitioner Kim Daly had administered some 150 pregnancy tests at Gloucester High's student clinic, she and the clinic's medical director, Dr. Brian Orr, a local pediatrician, began to advocate prescribing contraceptives regardless of parental consent, a practice at about 15 public high schools in Massachusetts. Currently Gloucester teens must travel about 20 miles (30 km) to reach the nearest women's health clinic; younger girls have to get a ride or take the train and walk. But the notion of a school handing out birth control pills has met with hostility. Says Mayor Carolyn Kirk: "Dr. Orr and Ms. Daly have no right to decide this for our children." The pair resigned in protest on May 30. Gloucester's elected school committee plans to vote later this summer on whether to provide contraceptives. But that won't do much to solve the issue of teens wanting to get pregnant. Says rising junior Kacia Lowe, who is a classmate of the pactmakers': "No one's offered them a better option." And better options may be a tall order in a city so uncertain of its future. — With reporting by Kimberley McLeod/New York Read more: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1815845,00.html#ixzz0eRghRCug moreResolved Question: shortening summer and extending the school day?!?!?!?
http://tweentribune.com/content/obama-would-curtail-summer-vacation I came across this online, and i definatly don't think this is right! Im not saying anything bad towards Obama, just that i think this is a really horible idea. Now I don't know if this Is just because I am speaking from a teenager's perspective, but personaly, my schedule is VERY cramped. I am a straight A student. When i get home from my 6 hour school day, I eat, then go to do my homework which usually takes me untill 9:00 at night! adding 3 hours to the school day?!! thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Teens need time to spent with they're friends and family. life shouldnt be based strictly and completely around school. What would life be life if we could never see our friends, because we constantly had to much homework or a major test coming up? It would just add more stress to everything. We already have enough stress going on with all the teen drama and fights and everything. but anyways, any feedback? from adults and teens? moreResolved Question: Adults and Teens. I wanna say it was written in the early 90's. It's about a girl (I think in her early-early teens) who meets another girl while on vacation with her family. They become good friends, and basically grow up together over the summers. The new girl lives just with her mom and introduces the first girl to all kinds of stuff when they get older--boys, parties, drinking, sex, etc. When they reach adulthood, the second girl like goes crazy and leaves to another country, but is always writing to the first girl about everything she's doing and such. In the end it turns out that she was lying about everything, ever since they were kids. She ends up committing suicide in the end, I believe. The title said something about "Summer" in it, but that's all I can remember. It was good and I want to read it again! moreResolved Question: Vacation Ideas for a family of five?

I need recommendations on where to go for vacation this summer. My family and I usually go to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina the last week of May every year. But my sister, who's 16, doesn't want to go back this year, because she thinks it's too "old." Our daughter, now 24 yo, was a troubled teen. She gave us a hard time, especially when she was 14 and 15 years old. Disrespectful, joined bad crowds and was very jealous of her lil sister, 2 years younger then her. She used to ne mean to her, so jealous she was. But without any reason, we never played favorites. Once she was really bad, even put her lil sister in danger, though she didn't really mean to harm her. She ended up getting a really harsh punishment, for a whole summer she was grounded from everything, couldn't enjoy single days of her school vacation and had to do a lot of extra chores. She apologized, said she was really sorry, asked for forgiveness and trust, but we were hard on her, said she had to face the consequences of her actions, didn't deserve our trust and would have to learn and prove herself the hard way. We still loved her, but we were firm, at that time we were really angry. She got devastated., but we carried out with her punishment. Fortunately, she changed, actually understood she had messed up and became her sister's best friend. She made us proud, but could never see us as loving parents any more. She never messed up again, but we lots our daughter. Respectful, but distant. We tried to reconnect with her, but it wasn't possible. We tried to talk, explain that at that time we had to take those measures, but it didn't work. Once she told us she couldn't forget those days and we'd always see us as the guys who punished her. She agreed she had messed up, but she suffered so much that to her we'd always mean law and punishment, not love. And she thought that, anyway, we'd been to harsh, though she messed up and deserved a punishment, we should still love her and punish with love. Today she's doing great, is graduated in Biology, has a good job, a great young woman. But, unfortunately, wrote us of her life. The last time we talked to her she told us we bring about those bad memories, it's impossible for her to be with us without reliving those days. What do you think about this situation? Does she have the right to write her parents off? Is this OK? What can we do? How can we live with this sad situation? moreResolved Question: How to deal with our daughter?

Hi I've decided that I (the mom) and my 16 year old francophile son will visit France in summer '11. I want to immerse him in as much French culture as I possibly can, and I understand that a significant part of French culture is of Corse, wine. What is the minimum drinking age in France? Does that extend to tourists? Is it alright as long as I am the one purchasing the wine? I don't intend to get him hammered or anything near, so don't think I want to pour drinks into my son. this is just a rough draft of my plot synopsis for my teen drama story. here it is: Proudly living in the busy streets of New York, the stunning and beautiful brunette of medium height, sixteen-year-old Deanna Santos is no stranger to scandal and controversy. Street-smart and fearless, she is no one's fool-----least of all her father Raphael's and stepmother Laurel's. Yes, it is a fact that Deanna was sexually abused by her father and was able to take him by putting him in prison, but now that Laurel has done the unthinkable-------bailing Raphael out of prison because she absolutely refuses to believe that Deanna was ever abused------Deanna must now find a new way to bring her father down yet again as well as devise a plan on how to prove to Laurel that she's been telling the truth all along. But that's not the only drama in store for Deanna. With summer vacation coming to a near end, Deanna wants to start her junior year of high school drama free. Unfortunately, wanting isn't getting , especially at a place like Constance High School, a predominately interracial high school where Deanna and 30 other students get bussed to daily. Aside from her family drama, Deanna is hellbent on exacting revenge on her long time arch nemesis Bianca McKay, who got her into a world of trouble over the summer that cost Deanna a big L.A. movie role. While the inevitable catfight/rift between Deanna and Bianca goes on throughout the year, Deanna will make sure she shows Bianca who the real bitch at Constance really is and more importantly, when she should watch her back. let me know what you think of this synopsis and if i should make any improvement or change it around. moreResolved Question: Questions about a first time job?
I am 15 and a half years old, and I am ready to get a job so that I can save money, and use it for things that I want and need. But, I have a few questions first, like if its even possible for me to get a job. I know that we are going through a huge recession, and that makes me wonder how many places are even highering teens. Also, being that this would be my first job how do I make a resume'? And something about the hours, since Im going to school, I won't be able to work much, probably from 3-7 or around that time, and thats about 35 hours a week, and that doesn't seem like enough. Could I extend my hours for the weekends? I was thinking about applying at Target, or Wal Mart or the mall, any of those places are fine. Will I have enough me time? I know it's not completley neccesary for me to get a job at this age, but there are things that I want and some things that I need as a teenager that I don't get. A job would be very usefull. I had to beg my mother for us to spend my birthday with just me and her as he wanted to show up then too. This man's personality is actually pretty clingy, he calls her all the time and he cries if she threatens to break up with him (which is often - they're relationship reminds me of teens in high school). He also has several mental disorder and strange personality quirks which just makes it very difficult to be around him. For example, The last time he came to my apartment, he picked up a box of Rit Dye (which I had opened earlier, and I knew it was open so I laid it down a certain way) and started shaking it. Dye came out everywhere. I told him I knew it was open, and to please just lay it back down. Then, he starts shaking it even more so that he can show me the dye and then shakes the second box of dye everywhere. It ended up permanently staining the marble countertop of my apartment and he made zero effort to clean it up, he said he would do it later -- and never did. I now have to pay for counter and he hasn't even offered to help with that either. Sometimes it feels like I'm around a child, I would expect a child to do the above. Because of the above, it's extremely exhausting being with him. I'm always worried about what he's going to destroy next. He's very hyper, is incapable of paying attention, has severe anxiety, depression, paranoia, he requires constant reassurance -- these are just what I know about him. I don't know if there's more. But his personality can be very draining to be around. He's also quite a rude guest. When he and my mother visits, he treats MY apartment like HIS house. I'm the one paying the bills for it. He constantly says how he feels at home, puts his feet (shoes and all) on my glass coffee table, he once sat on my coffee table - and since it's on the flimsy side, I was mentally freaking out - he doesn't take his shoes off, and he walks around like it's his place. In the fall, he invited himself, his daughter, two of her friends, and a bunch of other people over to my apartment in a different state, to spend the night, and have me be their tour guide of the city. He invited them, I didn't know these people - these strangers spent three nights in my apartment and requested I revolve my schedule around them to take them around the city. I spoke to my mother about this and she said to just stay in my bedroom when he's around. Which I still think is not entirely fair since it's my apartment,, I shouldn't have to hide in my room - I also am genuinely trying not to be rude to him and thought that it may be offensive, but I did need a break from him..So I relented. He then proceeds to enter my bedroom, without knocking, over and over and over and over. Now I'm coming home for Christmas, and again he's going to be there for Christmas and New Years, he's staying the full week. I asked my mother if, just this once, we could have a holiday with just she and I. She sent me a text saying I'm being selfish and how everything is always about me. Which actually hurt my feelings because I've been trying very hard to not be selfish and to like this man. But it's too much, too soon. I don't need to be around him constantly. They're already planning their spring and summer vacations with him, and his daughters, and my mother. I'm not able to go since I have to work and have summer courses. So now it feels like I'm not even apart of this family anymore. Am I really selfish for wanting to spend some alone time with my mother for Christmas? I genuinely would like to know so I can take a look myself and my own actions if need be. I don't want to be a bad person but I'm having trouble accepting this. Even on my birthday, she spent most of the day on the phone and texting him for hours non-stop. I'm not exaggerating, it was about four hours straight on the phone. This is actually normal for them. Also, this is my first time coming back home in two years. I don't mind that she's dating him, she's dated other men in the past, and he is nice, I do believe his intentions are good - but nobody has ever been forced upon me so greatly before. Could anyone offer some advice? I honestly don't mean to come across a spoiled brat, I don't know what to do. My mother and I have always been extremely close, and this is driving a wedge into our relationship. We're no longer speaking at the moment. moreResolved Question: Teenager needs some help?
I'm a 14 years old straight male teen who's never been in a relationship. I'm kind of shy, not really absolutely popular at school but I do have friends. Now there's this girl, 15 years old at school. I know her since we were 8 actually, and since this very first day I saw her, I liked her (I was a kid and didn't really understand what I felt). But we just know each other and barely talk. All I can say is that she's not the kind of girl who pokes fun at people and stuff, she's really kind, but I don't think she really cares about me, and I don't know if she's in a relationship. 2 years ago, I spent my whole summer vacations thinking about her, hoping that she'll be in my class, and she didn't end up in my class. The fact is, I can't hold my breath anymore, so now I'm thinking about sending her a private message on Facebook, and tell her what I feel about her, and I don't care about what's going to happen afterwards. But I'm not sure about doing this, so I'm asking it to you people on Yahoo Answers: should I do it? I need advices. Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: What are fun things for a TEEN to do over vacation?

She is extreamly diffucult to buy things for because she is not like "regular" teen girls shes not into nails and girlly things i wouldnt want to just give her money because i went on vacation with her this past summer to europe and her parents paid alot for me. any suggestions??? moreResolved Question: Why so many teens on here asking the SAME silly questions repeatedly?
Ok, I know teenage kids are little bundles of hormones and emotions, but I'm so tired of reading the same stuff on here: "Does he/she like me?" "I think he/she likes me, what should I do?" When I first started on Yahoo! Answers, I thought it was sort of cute, but now it just grates on me because I have to sift through all that stupid puppy love crap to get to anything that even remotely justifies a thoughtful, helpful answer. Let me just state this for all you goofy teens. In the vast majority of cases, any relationship you have while you are in school, especially before high school, isn't going to last for more than a few weeks, or beyond the end of summer vacation. It isn't as serious as you may feel it is in your little teenage heart. You have your whole life ahead of you and worrying about whether so-and-so likes you is childish (ok I know, you are children, but still). Before you go posting your sad little questions, just read through maybe 5 or 6 questions and you'll find one EXACTLY like the one you were going to post! Seriously! Ok, I got that off my chest. Carry on! :P moreResolved Question: Teens : Opinions on my sweet 16 plans please ?

I mean, i never ventured outside America before and i'm kind of nervous. i have an aussie friend here and he said i'll love it and it's so beautiful and i'm really excited. so are the people nice and friendly, and what are some things teens do down there for fun? moreResolved Question: What is this teen book?
It is about these three or four girls that just graduated from high school (i think) and they are going to a summer house for a vacation together. One girls older boyfriend shows up and it turns out hes cheating on her. one girl falls in love with this guy who is traveling and camping. she makes him chocolate chip cookies when she loses a bet. he leaves without saying goodbye (because he doesn't want to get attached because he has joined the military). moreResolved Question: Jersey Shore vacation this summer? So I'm already thinking about next summers vacation and was thinking of going back to the East Coast specifically Jersey Shore..any suggestions for a 12yr old boy (he'll be close to 13 next summer) and a very young (see cougar l0l) 30something mom? We've also been on other more "exotic" type of vactions. So 'rinky dink' trips to a model train museum or bike rentals reallly wouldn't cut it for us moreResolved Question: What do think of the beginning of my story?
Trust me I know the grammer is a little messed up tell me where and I'll fix it. :) Here it is: It's called How He Changed My Life: Chapter 1-How I met and made a complete, udder fool out of myself in front of him I was on my summer vacation with my mom, Lilli and my step-dad, Jesse. I was running down the beach at the Mérida Ocean resort in Mexico. Boy is that a great place, a lot better than when we went to Australia and ‘hung out’ with the wild life… and the bugs. Anyway, so I was jogging along my shoulder length blonde hair bouncing with my steps. My new shoes rubbed my feet raw. I ran along the water line swerving out when the water came too close. I stopped for a breath and saw a boy pass me. From what I could see of him, he was cute, not just cute, but hot. I continued running, knowing it wouldn’t matter if I stopped him no one ever wants to go out with me. Sweat glistened on my forehead as the sun came fully out of the clouds. I raised my face up to the sky and took a deep breath. I tripped. My foot stuck in a long wooden trunk that lay across the beach. My face smashed into the sand and clung to my teeth and lips. Ow. The pain, I thought. I pulled on my foot. I couldn’t get it out. Sand stuck to my face and neck. I turned my face to breath and shoved my body away from the sticky sand with my arms. “You okay?” A voice came from behind me. “Not really.” I answered. “Let me help.” The voice said. I felt a tugging at my foot. I blushed. God. I felt the tight pressure on my foot release. I felt hands wrap around my arms, then helped me up. “Thanks.” I said, brushing the sand off my yellow tank-top and grey shorts. I started to pick the sand out of my eyebrows and off my lips, but then I saw who it was. It was the boy. “Hi My names Ellie, Ellie Ashton.” “I’m Cole Meyer.” He shook my hand. “So are you going to be all right?” “Yeah, I think so. Oh, and thanks, again. Very helpful.” “So, why are you here? I’m here on vacation with my mom and dad.” “Me, too.” “So, how long are you staying?” We walked down the beach casually talking. “All summer, and you?” “Same. We went to London last year.” The clock tower in the center of the Resort chimed for noon. “Thanks for saving my life, but I got to go.” “Nice meeting you.” “You, too.” I waved goodbye and walked to the main building. I went through the door and the air conditioning gave me goose bumps. I went up to my room to take a shower. After I got out of the shower, I blow-dried my hair and took a nap. Napping is not usually my thing, but I’m going to a bash in the square, for teens. Before the party I got ready, applying mascara, lip-gloss, and eye shadow lightly, not trying to overdo it. I pulled on my brand new brown summer dress with black flats. “What’s the occasion?” Lilli asked. “Bash in the square. I need a necklace or a… bracelet. No, earrings. What do I do?” I begged. “Here,” she unclipped her long silver necklaces and handed them to me. I put them on and looked in the full body mirror. I touched my neck and then spun around on my tippy-toes. “Thanks mom.” “You’re welcome Ellie.” She said. So, in preparation I re-applied my lip-gloss and mascara. I smiled brightly in the mirror; my teeth were straight and white, straight from non-needed braces, white from strips and lasers. My mom had my teeth whitened a few times when I was fourteen and fifteen. I had modeled for teen clothes. My mom got obsessive and I quit. My blonde hair hung in layers, flitting against my shoulder. The hazelnut highlights brought out my green-blue eyes. My tan was fading. Yes, I spent a lot of time in the sun, but that doesn’t mean it stays. I left for the party. In the elevator I met up with my friend Brazil and Sheri. They complimented me, as I did them. Sheri wore white pants and a dark navy long-sleeve shirt with a black oxford vest and black cowboy boots. Brazil wore a brown skirt with black tights, a dark brown lace tank-top and black flats that covered her toes. Her brown hair had blonde highlights and was twisted up in to a thick braided bun. Sheri’s sandy red hair was hanging down. We arrived at the party. The bright lights flashing, the DJ’s music screaming loudly, the people dancing and chatting happily, and the food was prepared on a long white table. Then I saw him. Cole. He stood in the middle of the dance floor looking lost. He smiled when he saw me, and then waved me over. “Give me a second, okay?” I said to Brazil and Sheri. Then walked over to him. moreResolved Question: Could I get into UNC at Chapel Hill or U of M with these credentials?

Reality As I sat in my room and scrolled though the pictures of me and my family from our Florida vacation that we had took during the summer. The week in Florida had flown by. Now back in the mist of all the chaos with the start of school, my sisters pulling their usual stunts, my mom freaking out about my youngest brother starting kindergarten, that week with no worries it was forever ago. But as I scrolled though the pictures I came across one of me and my sisters. The three of us smiling our identical smiles. If a stranger had looked at this picture they would have said that me and my sisters are identical. Which is true we are, we are identical triplets. But yet that is only on the outside, on the inside we are different people. Amber is the oldest. She’s the party girl. The sister who sneaks in at 2 in the morning drunk, high, or both. She was reckless and dangerous with her friends, but she knew how to walk the walk and talk the talk in front of our parents and others parents as well. She was a whole fifteen minutes older than Amethyst and seven minutes older than me. Amethyst was the youngest. She is the popular one. The sister that is a total bitch at school but a sweetheart at home. She is a cheerleader, on all the committees and not to mention she is dating the quarterback on the football team. She might be the youngest but she also knows how to party. Then there is me. Jade the middle triplet. I’m the innocent one. I don’t go to parties, I’ve never drank, smoked, or had sex. I pay attention in church, I’ve only dated a few boys all who my parents approved of. I was a overly safe driver, I never snuck out. I’ve never even rolled someone’s house. I was the one who while my parents hovered over my sisters and brother they barely paid attention to me cause they knew that I wouldn’t get in trouble or do something bad. But on the outside me and my sisters are identical. I looked at the picture for a little while. Or at least until someone knocked on my bedroom door. “Who is it?” I asked as I stuck the camera on my bedside table. “Its Amber,” My sister said though the door, “Can I come in?” “Sure,” As she entered I was shocked to see she was wearing jeans and a short shelve shirt- I was a little annoyed to notice that it was my shirt- and not her normal skimpy dresses or reveling shirts. “What do you want?” I asked her as she came and sat on my bed next to me. She looked different somehow I couldn’t put my finger on it, but there was definitely something off about her. I started to study her but then she started talking. “I wanna talk,” She said. This had to be some other Amber than the one that lived to two feet down the hall from me. Amber never wanted to talk, she was a fabulous person, but she never ever wanted to talk. If there was something wrong her advise was “Get drunk or something, go to a party.” “What do you want to talk about?” I asked her. She gave me a look it made me kind of nervous. Because even thought I’ve lived with her my entire life, if always felt she was better than me. It was like when you walked by the popular crowd and they gave you a once over and decided you weren’t cool enough and laughed. Like she was better at this whole being sixteen thing. “You,” She said, shocking me to an even further expectant. “Why do you want to talk about me?” I asked her.
