Open Question: I need help finding an outdoor ceremony site in Dallas?

I'm having my reception in Irving. I am trying to find a outside wedding ceremony such as a garden, nice lake, etc and I'm at my wits end. I called Dallas Aboretum, its a looonnng walk from the gate to the garden, and I feel that my elderly family member will be out of breath before they reach the garden. Ft worth Botanical is 40-45 minutes from Irving, I dont want my guests to drive so long to get to the reception. Grapevine botanical is booked. Texas Discovery Gardens are not available either. I am a very petite Asian-American girl. I am feminine and like to do all the things girls normally do. I'm not a tomboy. I wear makeup, feminine clothes, and can dance all night in a sexy short skirt and high heels. However... I LOVE to go fishing. My ex-boyfriend took me a lot but we broke up. Now I sneak away sometimes and go by myself because I don't have anyone to go with. I have real good luck catching large mouth bass and crappie in north Texas lakes. I fish along shore and don't have a boat. I go to Lewisville Lake, Ray Roberts Lake, Lake Lavon, Ray Roberts Lake, Grapevine Lake, and sometimes I go to the Richland Chambers Reservoir. While I can catch Bass and crappie easily, I cannot get any Catfish. I know these lakes have catfish. I see dead catfish along the shoreline sometimes and men talk about catching them a lot. There are Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, and some others. The Fishing Guides on the Internet that use these lakes mention trophy catfish a lot, although I don't want anything that big. I've tried everything. I researched how to catch them on the Internet and have done a lot of study. I've used tight-line fishing, slack-line fishing, and have fished with bobbers. I've used different baits too, including live shad, cut shad, minnows, commercial stink bait, chicken livers, and night crawlers (worms). I have tried several methods for hooking and presenting the bait. I've looked for (and found) all the lake conditions that are recommended for catching catfish. I have gone at night, beginning around 7 PM and fished until 1 AM. I have fished during all daylight hours. I have even set my alarm very early, woke up, and started fishing at 4:00 AM and continued all day. I've pushed every button and pulled every switch and still can't get a catfish. Someone PLEASE help me!. Tell me what I'm doing wrong. I don't want to hire a professional guide. I have a regular office job and not much money. Also, I want to do this myself. . more

I am new to Dallas and can use some advice on shore fishing in North Texas. I don't have a boat. So far I've had some luck with Crappie at Lewisville Lake and a few striped bass at Grapevine Lake. Are the following lakes any good for shore fishing? Lavon Lake? Benbrook Lake? Lake Worth? What about cat fishing on the Trinity River? Where's the best spot? Are there any dams with public access? Recently I blew the dust off my fishing equipment and been going up to a local lake. I'm trying to fish for Large mouth bass, but cant seem to land any. I'm using all my lures and techniques that have worked in the past. Been doing Texas riged Red/black/green rubber worms, Spinners, poppers, Ratalas. I'm starting to think maybe its b/c the new fishing line i put on my rod, i went with some Stealth moss green Spider wire that's 30lb test. I heard a rumor that may be a cause of my bad luck. My family and I are moving to the Dallas-Mid Cities area of Texas. I'm having a hard time choosing an apartment due to my not being in the area. I can only trust what i see online. I know pictures are worth a thousand words, but looks can be deceiving. I've tried agents, but they do get paid to promote the apartments, I've tried apartment ratings.com and have been disappointed that places I like aren't really recommended. Can anyone give me ideas on which apartments to look at based on experience or neighborhood? I do want a good school system for my 6 year old. Me and my friends are always bored on the weekends. Where are some fun places to go? Example: fun shopping centers, different restaraunts, outlet stores, etc... Something not extremely expensive either. Can be somewhere in the metroplex... anywhere from fort worth, downtown, grapevine, highland park...etc. you get the point :) thanks!! more
