Resolved Question: Ever Dream Of This Man?

Every night, all over the world, hundreds and maybe thousands of people see this face in their dreams. If this man appears in your dreams too, or if you have any information that can help identify him, please go to www.thisman.org In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life. That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist's desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life. The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as THIS MAN. From January 2006 until today, at least 2000 people have claimed they have seen this man in their dreams, in many cities all over the world: Los Angeles, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Tehran, Beijing, Rome, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, New Dehli, Moskow, New York, Texas, Mexico etc. At the moment there is no ascertained relation or common trait among the people that have dreamed of seeing this man. Moreover, no living man has ever been recognized as resembling the man of the portrait by the people who have seen this man in their dreams. The aim of this website is: - to help those who have seen this man in their dreams and to foster communication among them; - to understand who this man is and why he appears in an apparently pattern-less array of situations in the dreams of such diverse human subjects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLkOJs3v_JQOh hi Mike, didn't know you did Yahoo answers too. funny! more

Resolved Question: Pourriez-vous corriger ces paragraphes anglais?

The United States who share 3 500 km of border with Mexico have decided to build a double wall of 1 125 km long between California and Texas. This wall, made of steel bars spaced 20 cm, as in prisons, will have a third virtual fence equipped with cameras, ground sensors. In addition, 1 500 additional guards will strengthen the border patrol. This will be the largest building in human history after the Great Wall of China. In the Mexican population, the wall, like that of Berlin is seen as one of shame. The anti-American sentiment still latent in Mexico is strengthened. Mexico is the 2nd largest trading partner of the United States. He is a member of NAFTA, the FTA of North America. It guarantees the United States its supply of oil and mineral resources. In return, he reaps only contempt for its powerful neighbor, however, could have a competitive economy without these raw materials and cheap labor market that provides it with Mexico. This wall will make it even more difficult the passage of inmigrants pass the border each year without resolving the problem. No wall stops hunger. The "coyotes" (smugglers) will double or triple the price, which will require seasonal workers to stay in the United States or be making trips as is the tradition for over 100 years. This illegal labor is much more advantageous to the United States so that refuse to legalize migrants. However, it is with some satisfaction that Mexicans find that schizophrenia migration that reached the United States is beginning to have catastrophic effects. With the increased control of borders, 300 km of wall already exist in California, farmers complain of lack of workers to pick fruit, resulting in the loss of millions of dollars. Today, celebrities are not what they were and not Hollywood sounds more like a place of glory, sequins and silver. Although we often associate Hollywood and the United States to life celebrities addicted, anorexic and humiliated. This is the case Brintney Spears, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton ... Resolved Question: Know anything about Chamonix and/or Beaune?

My boyfriend and I are going to the French Alps in March by way of Paris (we will also see Paris, so it isn't as crazy as it sounds). We are renting a car and driving. I know a little about Beaune and Chamonix from Rick Steves videos. Anything that we shouldn't miss? Any other places in Burgundy country we should stop? We don't speak French - I'm from Texas, so the no-brainier foreign language to take in school was Spanish - but I've been to France before in areas that don't speak English at all, so I'm not afraid to go somewhere that tends not get English-speaking visitors. Resolved Question: Atheists do you feel you are a stranger living in a strange land & where is your eternal home?

Your Atheist leader, Madylyn Murray O'Hair, may she rest in peace, was never at home in the United States. Her abrasive personality prevented her from holding long-term employment. In 1959 she applied for Soviet citizenship. The following year, having gotten no response, she and her two children traveled by ship to Europe with the intention of defecting to the Soviet embassy in Paris and residing in the Soviet Union. The Soviets refused them entry. Madalyn and her sons returned to Baltimore in 1960. She eventually relocated to Texas where she was viciously murdered by a fellow Atheist. Resolved Question: Why didn't Republicans criticize Bush for the "shoe bomber" incident?

A failed attempt to blow up a plane during the holidays with explosives hidden in clothes happened before, under Bush. Back in 2001 Richard Colvin Reid, also known as Abdul Raheem and as Tariq Raja, and often referred to in the media as the shoe bomber, was convicted on charges of terrorism. On December 22, 2001 he was arrested for attempting to destroy a Boeing 767 on American Airlines Flight 63, a flight from Paris, Charles De Gaulle International Airport to Miami International Airport, USA, by igniting explosives hidden in his shoes. Back then President Bush was on vacation in Crawford Texas, much like Obama was on December 25th, 2009 when another terrorist tried to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit. Facts: It took Bush 5 days to publicly respond to the terrorist attempt back in 2001. All the White House said at the time is that they were reviewing the situation and they took it seriously. No one officially responded to the incident for 5 DAYS! In essence, the Obama administration said the EXACT SAME THING as the Bush administration said back in 2001. Furthermore Obama took LESS TIME TO REACT THAN BUSH DID IN 2001! Furthermore, NO DEMOCRATS criticized Bush's response time to the shoe bomber, and no Democrats tried to play political games during that time. Question: Why can't Republicans treat Obama as good as Democrats treated Bush on December 22, 2001? Why are Republican's criticizing Obama for doing things the same, if not better than Bush did for the EXACT SAME THING? Summary: Failed terrorist attempt to blow up international flight during the holidays under Bush: = 5 days to respond and no criticism from Republicans or Democrats for slow response. Failed terrorist attempt to blow up international flight during the holidays under Obama: = 3 days to respond and total criticism from Republican for a faster response than Bush. Why do Republicans criticize Obama for this when Bush did THE SAME THING!?Libertarian: You just don't get it do you. Terrorists are going to continue to send attackers. They are going to keep trying. My point was not that it happened, but was the hypocritical response by the Republican party. In essence, when it happens to your guy, no one criticized him, but when it happens to the other guy, you open up the guns and blow him away.Libertarian: You just don't get it do you. Resolved Question: Why are conservatives bashing Obama over the attempted Christmas airline bombing?

It seems like Republicans once again are not acting fairly. Question: Why can't Republicans treat Obama as good as Democrats treated Bush on December 22, 2001? Why are Republican's criticizing Obama for doing things the same, if not better than Bush did for the EXACT SAME THING?Lag Indicator: True True. Democrats said some horrible things about Bush. No denying that. But in this incident, there is no denial. We have two nearly identical situations, The only difference is the destination of the flight, and the placement of the explosives. Both presidents were on vacation, both presidents were 1 year into their first term, both presidents responded the same way, But Bush got a pass, Obama is getting ripped apart for political gain.0- the terrorist travel agent: So, you are going to fight facts and logic with superstition and conspiracy theories? You think that the hypocrisy from the right is justified because of some sort half-backed conspiracy theory? Guess what, here is another fact, when Bush did it, it is OK, but when Obama does the EXACT SAME IDENTICAL THING, YOU CHASTISE, CRITICIZE, INSULT, AND DEGRADE YOUR PRESIDENT! more

Resolved Question: London/Paris/Edinburgh questions?

Hi! My friend and I will be traveling to London in mid to late March (14th-22nd) and I was wondering what to expect from the weather during that time. I'm from Texas, so I need to know what I should look for now in stores to possibly buy for the trip. Also, what are some of the "must see" attractions? I'm a huge history person, and so is she. I've been researching things to see and do, but I don't want to miss out on anything. We're planning on going to Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath for a day trip and then Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Greenwich, and Dover for another day trip. Any must-see attractions inside the city that we shouldn't miss out on? We'll have about 3 and a half to 4 days in the city. We're also planning on spending 2 days/1 night in Paris. We'll be taking a coach tour around Paris and a river cruise up to the Eiffel Tower for one of those days, but what should we do that night (it will be a Friday). Also, I was wondering if going to the Palace of Versailles was worth taking the time to do since we aren't there for too terribly long. Any other must-see suggestions we should check out? Lastly, she would like to go visit Edinburgh, but I am at a loss as to what we can do there other than the Edinburgh Castle, Parliament House, and maybe the zoo?!? Any suggestions here? Thanks for taking the time to answer and help me out! :) more

Resolved Question: How do I handle having the ex-husband and wife and kids at son's open house?

I have asked my sons dad to help with the cost of my son's senior year. Senior pictures, invitations, and the open house. (He doesn't pay child support, I dropped that 1 1/2 years ago to help him out). He told me he couldn't but I could ask his wife, Angie. (I'm thinking...What?) But I went ahead and asked her and she said she could help out. She started asking me where was I going to get the pictures done (Paris Studios), what kind of food (I decided to have it catered) and other things related to an Open house. She started to give me her ideas and what she could bring (decorations and what not), I told her, that if she didn't mind I would just plan it myself and they could just help out by sending money whenever they could (they live in Texas and are coming to Michigan for the graduation and open house). She told me that if I wanted their help I would have to keep cost in mind (do it her way and do it cheaply). I know I am going to pay the majority of the cost (if not all of it) so I am going to do it my way. My problem is that neither I, nor my family like these people and I am dreading them being at the open house (I have to invite them, it's my son's dad). I know they will be there from the beginning to the end (like they own the place) and will end up embarrassing me and offending some if not all of my family (including my husband's family). What can I do to make things go a little smoother for everyone?I can't help but smile as I read your answer Ron. You don't know these people, I do. When they lived here and we went to joint functions the wife would follow my husband around like a puppy dog looking for scraps. I am always nice to them but sometimes a person can only handle so much. And the money doesn't matter, I asked, they said yes, but we both know I won't see a dime from them. Just thought I would give his dad a chance to do something for his son. My son is the one picking out the food and pictures for the open house. I am the one decided if I am doing the cooking or having someone else do it. more

Resolved Question: Based on this very brief description who sounds like the coolest character in the book?

I was reading this book 4 English and its very similar to but not quite the same as Kill Bill, I think it was based on it. Can poeple tell me who they think sounds like the coolest character and who had the most spectacular death. But anyway here r some brief overviews of the main characters good and bad. They r all members of an assasins squad and r all 14 believe it or not. Peter Daniels- Codename Saltwater Crocodile Was going 2 kill a business man but betrayed by his team mates and they thought he was dead. Came back 2 find them all and kill them 1 by 1 (told u its very similar 2 kill bill lol) he is ruthless in hunting them down but has a good heart and doesn't harm any1 else. Jeudi Peur- Codename Spotted Hawk French assasin who now lives in Paris, never got on with Peter she was his fiercest rival and took the most pleasure in shooting him. Bethany Allen- Codename King Cobra Assasin who now lives in suburbia with her parents, she was a little stuck up. Was killed by getting hit with a grabage can, going through a garage wall and having the whole garage collapse on her. Michael Phillips - Codename Bengal Tiger Was Peters best friend and was first 2 shoot him. He is an ex assasin and is the son of a very rich business man. He almost killed Peter by poison but Peter managed to kill him by slashing an x into his face then stabbing him while he was in pain. Millessa Smith- Codename Black Widow Formerly Peters girlfriend she shot him in cold blood with no remorse. She is the most ruthless out of all the assasins and is killed by having her own knife thrown through her heart. Vanessa Archeon- Codename Dire Wolf Daughter of a texas oil baron, she is sort of like the second in command. She got killed by her own trapdoor darts. Tim Scotts - Codename Grizzly Bear Leader of the team he was polite and calculating he was killed by being booted through a fifteenth floor window. My favorite character was probably Michael Phillips as he had the most spectacular death and I liked his personality. Thx 4 any answers and this was an English assignment thats y I posted it in lots of different categories. Lol sry about the majorly long post. more

Resolved Question: Why do people confuse the Renaissance and Medieval Era?

One of my favorite annual events is the Texas Renaissance Festival. I love all the sword-and-sorcery stuff and the medieval festivities. I'm a huge fan of fantasy memorabilia and whatnot. Here's the thing. The Renaissance started in the 1400's in Florence. Renaissance means "rebirth" in French. During that time period there was a massive resurgence of Ancient Greek and Roman architecture and customs. The Medieval Era was from 1000 to 1400. During that period Gothic culture and architecture was omnipresent. That occurred primarily in Northern Europe. The Renaissance Period spawned the Baroque landscape where wide avenues and tree-lined boulevards emerged. The idea was to make the streets more navigable. The Medieval cityscape was the exact opposite. Most of the main thoroughfares were very narrow with little setback from the streets that look like present day alleys. The idea was to protect the cities from outside invaders. I've never been to either place, but I'm told Paris has more of a Baroque design while Prague is more Medieval. So why do people confuse the two constantly? I've heard many even mistake them for the Dark Ages (between 0 and 500 A.D.) and the Middle Ages (from 500 A.D. to 1000 A.D.) The Renaissance ended during the Industrial Revolution around 1700's. Why can't people understand these time frames that all happened before the Industrial Revolution? more

Resolved Question: Why do some people think New York is a primate city?

The other day, I had a falling out with a friend from New Zealand when I asked if she was from Auckland. She got offended when I explained that I usually ask if people are from the primate city. She thought I meant an urban area full of apes and monkeys. That's not at all what I meant. Anyway, that's neither here nor there. I explained to others that a primate city of a country is the largest city. It's the entire cultural, economic, political, and social hearth. To qualify for urban primacy, a metropolis must be at least twice as large and twice as significant as the next largest city. Nine times out of ten, it is the national capital. London, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Moscow, Rome, and Mexico City are primate cities. New York is not because it isn't twice the size of Los Angeles, nor does it outshine L.A. in all the aspects I mentioned. For anyone from New York, I hate to burst your bubble, but this is true. If it's any consolation, my hometown Houston is not the primate city of Texas because it doesn't outshine Dallas nor is it twice the size. When a country has more than one global city, it does not have a primate city. Therefore, Toronto, Sydney, Mumbai, and Sao Paolo are not primate cities. Montreal, Melbourne, Calcutta, and Rio de Janeiro nullify any eligibility they have for those places to achieve urban primacy. So why do some people still insist New York is a primate city after what I just explained?Allie: Nice try, but I actually used to live there several years ago. I also lived in L.A. I know you think your city is the center of the universe, but it isn't. And FYI, we're a lot more sophisticated in Texas, than you think we are. After all, we do have NASA, Dell, Motorola, and Texas instruments here. My cousin tried to get into Rice University, but she couldn't because she didn't have a 4.0 average. That's the Harvard of the Gulf Coast. After that, she went to Smith College in Boston. Obviously you've never been to Texas if you think we wear cowboy hats. Most New Yorkers I'd met had never been anywhere outside their neck of the woods except for Florida.CindyLu: Well since I just explained that New York is NOT a primate city, that shouldn't even be an issue. And actually there IS a such thing as a primate city. I am going to grad school for geography. That is actually a geopolitical term. If you think I'm bluffing, then just read this article right here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primate_cityLook people! Primate has more than one meaning. It doesn't have to be an Alpha World city to qualify. It has to be at least twice the size of the next largest. I never once said that I hated New York or that it sucks. All I'm stating is that it isn't a primate city. The United States has 3 Alpha World cites. They are New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. China has 3 as well: Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong, but China doesn't have a primate city as well. I don't understand why you think I'm criticizing or badmouthing your town. I'm sure the only apes, gorillas, baboons, chimps, and binobos in primate cities live in the local zoos. more
