Open Question: How long does it take for an Xbox 360 game to be fixed?
My brother broke my FIFA World Cup game, and we shipped it to Texas, where they can apparently give us a new game because it has not been 90 days yet since we got the game. I'm really impatient, and just want to know how long does thisprocess typically take. moreOpen Question: Should I transfer? Trinity University?
I am an international student in my second year at trinity university.I know that trinity is a good school but my problem is that I want to go to an Ivy league Law school and from what I know and what I have heard I think that students in ivy league law schools are usually those that graduate from other Ivy leagues or really really good schools such as uni of chicago etc. So, I was wondering if I should transfer at the end of my sophomore year to a maybe higher ranked school so as to improve my chance of an Ivy league admission. I dont really know my GPA but I'm sure it must be 3.6 or higher and I have already started doing LSAT practice tests and I'm sure I can score upto 175 on it. I don't like to brag but I am academically quite talented. I didn't do so well in high school only because I didn't want to back then. I just started preparing for my SAT 5 days before the exam and ended up getting a fairly good score of 2010. I was accepted to UCLA and UT austin but couldn't go because of financial constraints. I love trinity v.v.much, not just because they gave me the FA and the opportunity to study in America but also because I really love it here. I am very thankful to trinity for the help they provided but I do not want to take any chance that might jeopardize my future. Now my transfer options are UT austin, U of virginia, U of Michigan, UCLA etc(UT austin is preferable because I am now a texas resident and therefore would qualify for resident tuition). Any help and opinions on whether I should do this or not will be greatly appreciated. moreOpen Question: Why am I so different?
I know at least some people who read this will think that I'm just another teenager who thinks they're different from everyone else, but in reality is actually the same as most. I'm not saying I'm different from everyone, just my family. I'm a sixteen year old girl, who is from a good family [sorta], I live in a small town in Texas, so most views around here are strictly conservative, and republican. I'm the complete opposite. Whether its my views on religion, politics, etc., not many agree with me. Now, to my actual question. Considering your parents and those surrounding you are supposed to shape your beliefs, and in a sense make you the person you are to become, how do some people end up so completely different from those who raised them? Also, this isn't me just being rebellious and whatnot. These are beliefs, and I don't believe they'll change. moreOpen Question: Steps to buying a car from a private seller in Texas?
I'm looking to buy a newer car for the first time by myself, and a lot of the good deals I find are private sellers, and as a first time buyer I have no idea as to how to go about buying from a private seller. moreOpen Question: Songs for this crazy situation?
Here's the story. I'm newly pregnant, and because of certain circumstances, I had to move in with my parents in Texas, while the father of the baby lives in Ohio. He is supposed to be following me in a few months but that's only if things go as planned and everything is so uncertain. We are both scared that something is going to happen to where he can't be there for me and the baby. So is there any songs in the meantime, that can help us get through this time of uncertainty and fear? Any genre is fine. moreOpen Question: Steps to stop harassment from an ex-husband in TEXAS.?
A friend of mine got a divorce about 4 or 5 months ago and her ex-husband has been harassing her at work by calling her and leaving her messages all the time. They aren't threatening messages. She just wants them to stop. She has notified her work and they are compiling the phone messages, but they haven't said anything about changing her phone number. I know that his calling violates Texas Penal Code 42.07 but how does she go about having that enforced and is there any way to have a protective order placed on him even though there have been no threats made against her? --Side note, he is also in violation of his probation from New York which states that he can not have any alcohol. She has a couple of messages of him saying that he was drunk. She is hoping that his violation would have him sent back to New York, but I'm also concerned with having the phone calls stop. moreOpen Question: Can you think of this word for me?
Down in the Hill Country of Texas, when there is a rock ledge and water drops off the rock ledge and the water ends up wallowing-out a pool underneath the ledge, that pool is called a "____________"? I need the word for a paper I'm writing -- and I can't think of the word. moreOpen Question: What's the best home defense round aside from a shotgun?
I'm going to be moving in to an apartment in a crappy town (Killeen, TX) from where I live in Germany fairly soon, and so I'm going to need a good home defense weapon. I'll be only 18, and I have at least 30 guns at my grandfather's house (have to keep them there, guns are illegal in Germany). I only have one shotgun, it's a Browning auto 8, and I don't want to take that as it's my dad's and he wouldn't want me to. Here are some of the guns I was thinking: AK74: Chambered in 5.45x39mm, folding stock so it's not so big, this bullet shouldn't over penetrate too much if I get a low enough grain AKM: Chambered in 7.62x39mm, worried about over penetration Winchester Model 1894: Chambered in .30-30, again, over penetration Now, here are my handgun choices (That I'm sure of). I'm not 21, so I'm not sure if it would be legal for me to have one of these in my home, but I may just take one of these anyway: Model 29 S&W: .44 magnum, it's the same size as Dirty Harry's, so I think 8 3/8" barrel Model 27 S&W: .357 magnum, again, I think this is an 8 3/8" barrel, the bullet seems like the perfect size, big but not too big These are what I know I have and could take. I think we have a Glock chambered in .40, and I know we have an H&K Mark 23 chambered in .45, but my dad treats that like a collectors item. I want something with stopping power though, and I want something that will intimidate anyone breaking in. I'm leaning toward taking the .357. Also, would there be any problem with a DA about overkill if I used a .357? I doubt it would be a problem in Texas, but in the Killeen area it doesn't seem far fetched. Also, I'm not going to buy any guns, that would be pointless. We have so many and we haven't even shot all of them. Not tooting my own horn, but I'm a great shot. I know it's different in a real time situation, but I'm great under stress and I wouldn't imagine I would miss in a small space. Especially if I put a laser on it.I meant Browning Auto 5. And I CAN NOT take the shotgun. It's like a collectors item anyways.KirkV, I'm moving to Texas, as stated numerous times. That's why the guns are at my grandfather's house. We keep them there ever since we moved.I don't believe in God, and I'm sure many people who put their faith in the Lord and have decided to not have a firearm have been killed in their homes.Killeen, TX has armed robberies IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. No one breaks into anyone's house without a weapon there.I'll be 18 and moving out, it's the only place I have to goI've lived in Killeen, it's where I moved from, and it gets bad. I heard about an armed robbery at least once a week.Okay, let me say this once more. I have no guns in Germany. I live here NOW, but will not when I'm 18. All guns belonging to my family are with my grandfather in the state of OKLAHOMA. When I come to the US, I will go there, shoot a couple of the firearms listed above, and then decide which I feel is best for protecting myself. I will then move to Killeen, TX, hopefully never sue it, but have it near my bed so I can protect myself in the event that someone does break into my apartment. No guns are in Germany, no guns are going to be brought back on a plane, I never even mentioned this anyway.I've also been shooting since I was about 9 years old, and probably own and have fired more firearms than most of you arrogant know-it-alls on here anyway. If you can't read a couple of paragraphs and understand what they're saying, don't bother answering the question. moreOpen Question: I just moved to the south, got a job and got fired, I feel so discouraged now...?
I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I moved here. No offense, but I really didn't know how stupid things were done here. Where I'm from the economy is horrible right now, but the service is so much better. Here, the people do not know how to run their jobs. I got hired and a month later I was fired. And when she fired me she told me, "you were a REALLY good worker"......she fired me because she didn't have enough help (I guess she's cheap or SOMETHING......she was keeping all the f****** available pay money for herself/ her own pay check and having only 6 employees total....only 2 employees in the store at a time with too much work (like a store full of boxes to unload plus doing the cash register plus cleaning/organizing the store plus answering the phone plus helping customers....) and the customers are needy/pushy and I don't blame them..........it's called having good customer service. So I'd be in the biggest hurry and there would be a long line and they'd all be grouchy/rude (I just moved to TX EW!!!) and I made 3 mistakes on my cash register and if you get like 3 circles in a year while you're working there, you get fired. Well........she should have had more employees, OR if I was doing a bad job on the register (being too busy and rushed by the rude customers who grunt for no reason when I'm smiling and being nice to them....idiots), she should have had me NOT be on the register since there were other employees who could have been on the register! I realize I was TOO GOOD for that job because I feel like everything was done so stupid. And she'd be talking on the cordless phone to her friends infront of customers....... so now when I'm filling out my application for a nursing mental assistant position that I don't even need a prior degree or experience for that makes $2,000/mo, (you would need an education where I'm from) (I have credits in school and I am finishing my education when I get back to the east coast) I can't even know if I'm filling it out good enough because all I have in my mind is how I got f****** fired from my last job and I've never been fired in my life, it's like okay how the f*** does stuff work in the stupid south, or texas, or this city, or whatever it is? Like is my application going to be "good enough" for them? I just feel so discouraged I've never felt like this before in my life and I need to fill out my application but Iike it's so weird I don't even feel like trying if these people are going to do the same f***ed up thing and I can't even think clearly I don't know what to put for "specific reason for leaving" ........."uhh, I got fired for 3 mistakes on the cash register" WOW OKAY WE THINK SHE STOLE MONEY OR IT MEANS SHE'S INCOMPETENT, WE'RE NOT HIRING HER! like I want to know wtf they're thinking when they read it.......I am so f****** mad that I got fired and I know I'm better than that b**** who fired me and I just want to move back. I was even smarter than my other managers at that job she was literally like semi-retarded I knew how to do things faster/better than she did. moreOpen Question: Why dont ppl just get this? +BQ?
Ok so everytime when I m answering a question, there is always, always one question on the list that is really annoying as he** which is "why do you guys watch wrestling even though you know its fake?" To all of you that have asked this question, I will tell you that for f*cking god sake, it is scripted and it is quite entertaining. So quit bothering us trolls BTW: To end this thing, instead of anwering questions like this, lets just ignore them. If there would be no answer, they wouldnt even bother to ask anymore. What do y'all say? BQ: Pick the finishers Codebreaker OR Backstabber Tombstone Piledriver or Texas Piledriver Moonsault or Shooting Star Press Pedigree or Double Arm DDT STF or Regal Stretch Chicken or BeefTo The Lord of Darkness, I know I m encouraging by being annoyed by trolls but at the same time, I m giving out ideas on how to end this things and make this section better such as ignoring those questions moreOpen Question: Smoking in Canada from US?

I recently moved from Texas to West Virginia for family reasons but when I moved I had to leave behind a guy I had recently started dating. Things had really started going good and then I moved. We decided to try and make things work for the 10 months I'll be gone. I have fallen in love with him and I am committed to making things work. The only catch is... is I am the type of person who has to hear sweet, lovey things from their significant other. Since I can't see him in person I need SOMETHING. And I don't know if he just isn't good with words but he rarely says sweet, romantic things to me. And you know the saying, that if a guy isn't giving a girl what she needs she seeks it out elsewhere. I don't want it to result to that but I do want the attention I deserve. I need to hear thoughtful, sweet things from him. How can I relay this to him? I really do want things to work and I'm willing to wait the 10 months for him, I just need him to make some changes so that the wait is easier moreOpen Question: is this a good plot? please answer fast?
i'm not going to be to decscriptive since i don't want anyone to steal. it was the summer of 1952, and the small town Converse, Texas was shaken to its core when a terrifying murder took place in the small farming community. it was on the night of July 16, 1952 when Jason Billmosher sent his 15 year old son out into the forest of Converse, Texas to kill a deer and return with it to become a man. when Jason woke up the next morning, his son had not returned. days pass and Alex still dosen't return, and the town sets up a city wide search party. as grief and stress tear the Billmosher family apart, they discover a deadly secret within the town no one could have ever imagined. moreOpen Question: How is it possible that someone can work at the same company for 25 years and only get paid minimum wage?
I guess I've lived a pretty sheltered life, but I just learned that a friend of mine's mother has been working for the same meat packing company in east Texas for 25 years and has only ever been paid minimum wage! Plus, she has NO retirement benefits whatsoever. As if that wasn't bad enough, she was laid off about six months ago, then asked to come back 3 weeks ago... and now has to totally reapply for insurance benefits which includes a 90 day waiting period! I'm just appalled and in total shock. Someone please explain!! (not really... I understand that a company can pay an employee whatever wage it wants in Texas just as that employee can choose to terminate employment with that company due to unsatisfactory wages.... I just can't fathom a company in GOOD CONSCIENCE paying a GOOD PERSON like my friend's mother minimum wage for TWENTY-FIVE YEARS. Un-be-lievable.)I haven't asked my friend the "Mexican" question, but I have to assume that because this area of Texas has been under scrutiny by ICE for a long time (and a number of businesses have lost their illegal employees because of sweeps), most of this company's workforce are probably legal Mexicans and uneducated blacks, like my friend's mom. Again, that age-old question comes up: Who amongst the "better" of us would WANT to do that kind of assembly-line work??? moreOpen Question: about me for myspace?

I have college questions. I am a straight A student who doesn't?
know what to do. I live in texas and plan on applying to the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Southern Methodist University and Emerson College in Boston. The last 2 are merely dreams because of their expense, but how do I start applying now? My friends are but I don't want to seem stupid and ask them. I know that Emerson and SMU take the common APP with supplementary stuff. I can't figure out what all of that is! The common app website says something about the 2010 application won't be up until AUG. Then how are my friends working on it?? (All of this applies to my twin brother but he is applying to different schools.) Our mom has no idea because we are her only children and it has been a really long time since she applied. We go to a really great and reputable high school that has greatly prepared us for college except they haven't told us a thing about how and when to apply. help please!!! moreOpen Question: Should I attend LSU or Texas A&M?
I'm deciding on colleges, and it has come down to LSU or Texas A&M. I plan on majoring in Petroleum Engineering. I know A&M has a highly ranked Engineering school. But since LSU is right on the Gulf Coast, I figure they gotta be strong in PetE. Other factors affecting my decision are: I'm a Texas Resident My whole Family went to A&M, and I kinda want to go somewhere that can be my own. College is more than just academics, is which school would give me a better experience? Would I get a job out of either school with a PetE Degree. Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks moreOpen Question: Search for a relative?
I'm trying to find my mom. I don't really know where to start. I'm not adopted so there are no records. She may have lived in Dallas or Houston Texas. And she is a illegal immigrNt from Chichuachua Mexico. Are there websites or people I could hire that are resonably priced or free? moreOpen Question: Can even one gay person provide empirical evidence of homosexuality being a choice?
There all kinds of evidence proving that there is no evidence of a gay gene. Now, I would like one gay person or any who dare, try to provide evidence of a gay gene and prove that you don't imagine a gay gene as part of your mental disorder. Examples opposing a gay gene: 1. Twin Study- with only 52% of twins being both gay, it failed to reach the necessary 100% threshold. "Gay gene" researcher Dean Hamer was asked by Scientific American if homosexuality was rooted solely in biology. He replied: "Absolutely not. From twin studies, we already know that half or more of the variability in sexual orientation is not inherited. Our studies try to pinpoint the genetic factors...not negate the psychosocial factors." 2. No. There is no evidence that shows that homosexuality is simply "genetic." And none of the research claims there is. Only the press and certain researchers do, when speaking in sound bites to the public. 3. Scientists Know the Truth about "Gay Gene" Research But before we consider the specifics, here is what serious scientists think about recent genetics-of-behavior research. From Science, 1994: Time and time again, scientists have claimed that particular genes or chromosomal regions are associated with behavioral traits, only to withdraw their findings when they were not replicated. "Unfortunately," says Yale's [Dr. Joel] Gelernter, "it's hard to come up with many" findings linking specific genes to complex human behaviors that have been replicated. "...All were announced with great fanfare; all were greeted unskeptically in the popular press; all are now in disrepute." 4. What the majority of respected scientists now believe is that homosexuality is attributable to a combination of psychological, social, and biological factors. From the American Psychological Association "[M]any scientists share the view that sexual orientation is shaped for most people at an early age through complex interactions of biological, psychological and social factors."{6} From "Gay Brain" Researcher Simon LeVay "At this point, the most widely held opinion [on causation of homosexuality] is that multiple factors play a role."{7} From Dennis McFadden, University of Texas neuroscientist: "Any human behavior is going to be the result of complex intermingling of genetics and environment. It would be astonishing if it were not true for homosexuality."{8} From Sociologist Steven Goldberg "I know of no one in the field who argues that homosexuality can be explained without reference to environmental factors."{9} As we have seen, there is no evidence that homosexuality is simply "genetic"--and none of the research itself claims there is. moreOpen Question: What exactly is prostitution in Texas?
My child's father recently got standard visitation rights reinstated, after a quite awhile of being apart. We were supposed to meet at McDonald's for pick up, he never showed. I find out that he's in jail for prostitution. I was really happy that he would be in my daughter's life again, but now I'm worried. He was sentenced to 35 days. What exactly is prostitution in Texas, and can I get a copy of the police report? I don't want to be the kind of mother that comes between child and father, but prostitution puts up all kinds of red flags. Not to mention all the priors that have us meeting at McDonald's now. Does anybody know exactly what the crime means? moreOpen Question: Am I a "s**t" for giving Oral to my "Boyfriend"?
Okay, hes not really my hubby, but we act that way because he and I are both people that have issues with keeping a relationship that is so far away. I met him 7 months ago when I came to visit my cousin from Texas here to Georgia and we instantly clicked! We had long conversations and we both loved eachother's persona. But then I had to go back home to Texas and dude, it sucked so bad, he was just on my mind 24/7, all I wanted to do was be next to him :.( So now that I'm back and I'm staying a month I'm going to see him a lot, but i'm going to have to eventaully go back home when school starts again. And I don't want to feel the heart break I did when i had to leave him the first time after knowing and falling in love with his personality like that again. So I made it clear that there would be no messing, so today he came over and we spoke and made out like last time, but this time I actually gave him oral, with a condom on, which tasted gross, and it was my first time. And for females who where wondering, its really not that bad at all, just saying, its actually kind of fun. especially if the guy you're doing it to is a guy you love and trust dearly like I do him. But after that, we shared our final kiss and i told him, no more, i on't want to miss you again for so long. So, was that s*uty of me to do? Please tell me, cause i feel like it kinda was cause I'm still a virgin and all, and it just feels to me like I am too young to have done that. But at the same time, i feel like it was way better then losing my virginity so young, and maybe even getting pregnent. but I don't, i need help, please tell me it wasn't wrong of me :.( moreOpen Question: I'm getting really mad....?
I live in Texas and I am suspecting some things being left out of my school. I just learned that females can be circumsized in a way. Why am I not taught this stuff? What else are they keeping from me?@Marika: Yes. They actually taught in one of the schools suprisingly.@The Canadian Atheist: Dumbass, obvious dumbass. moreOpen Question: Are there any DMV's in houston texas that are open on Saturday or Sunday?
AHH! I'm starting next week and I need a texas ID to do so, but I can't go during the week, are there any DMVS in Houston open on Saturday or Sunday?? moreResolved Question: How do I reduce heat and light in my room?
I have two west-facing windows in my room, and after noon, the sun beats down on my blinds and heats up my room. From about 14:00 to 21:00, the heat in my room becomes unbearable. I live in Oregon, so this only happens from around April to around October. The sunlight during those hours also makes reading print or viewing LCD's nearly impossible because of how bright and direct it is. I'm looking into installing a fan, but I used to live in Texas, and I'm experienced in knowing how little those do to help in extremely hot rooms. I'm also looking into blackout blinds to keep light out during summer months, but I'm not sure if those would multiply the heat issue, being made of dark material and all. How else can I reduce heat and/or light buildup in my room during summer months? moreOpen Question: How do I get a Child Labor Permit?
I'm 14 and want to get a job at Sonic Drive-in or a local grocery store (minimum wage is $7.25 where I live, which is pretty good, and one of my friend's older sister works at the grocery store and I'm friends/neighbors with the person who owns Sonic) My mom is on Medical Disability due to a brain surgery she had 2-3 years ago. Apparently, in the state of Texas, since my mom is on MD I am allowed to get a Child Labor Permit. My mom's busy lately so she told me to look it up and find out how. I have no idea where to start and how to. :( I want to have my own money, plus, since money might be a little tight (my twin brother just got braces... My parents are divorced and my dad only gives a little bit of child support...) so I want to use the money to help my brothers and I buy school supplies, clothes, makeup (for me), and other "luxury" items. I don't want to have to ask my mom for money, 1. because I know she won't give it me, 2. I don't want to pester her about it when I know were a bit tight right now. moreOpen Question: Ticket has wrong name in the system. Do I have to pay it? What Do I Do?
So I live in Texas and a couple weeks ago. I got a ticket for speeding(76-in a 60) and another one for having an expired inspection expired on(11/08). Failed two inspections $1100 on the car i just bought 2 months ago to try to fix it anyway that's not the point. On My copy it has my name Nathan and all the other information is correct. Since I'm in some financial difficulties right now i went online to check how much it was and they had my name as Norman. Then I decided to call the number on the back of the ticket to see if they could look up the information and see if it was just a computer error. Well after a brief conversation the lady said it was under Norman and then asked me who Norman was i said I don't know anyone of that name, then she asked me my name, I didn't know what to do, so i acted like my phone was breaking up and hung up. So since they messed up and don't have my correct first name in the system can it be dismissed and what do I do.Also when I got the ticket I had an OH drivers licence, but recently had it switched to Texas since the inccedent. With a new liscence could they even identify me for a warrant if I just didn't go to. The person in the sytem technically doesn't exist and the car I was driving, i'm having junked this weekend so that doesn't exist either. New License, New Car diffrent registration, and them looking for the wrong name. Not sure if that all helps. moreOpen Question: Can i get into Texas State University at San Marcos with a 3.189 gpa?
I'm in Art Honor Society, Environmental Club, an officer for the UNICEF club, and I'm in FBLA. I won a few art contest awards. I do theatre outside of school. I'm an underrepresented minority. I volunteer for local charities/events. moreOpen Question: What are some intensive depression treatments?
I've tried 3 anti-depressants and some therapy (which I've never really liked and never felt like it helped). I also have chronic eating problems (probably a combo of 3 childhood feeding disorders) and lots of stress. I've tried residential treatment for the eating problems, as well as an intensive outpatient program. But now my eating and depression are both getting worse. I'm losing weight and the depression is getting to the point where if it continues getting worse, I don't know how well I'm going to do when I return to college in less than 2 months. I should also mention that I worked at a camp (outside almost 24/7 in Texas) and was still very depressed. That was sun plus lots of exercise plus being around kids and still that did not help. Is there a searchable directory of partial hospitalization programs or something similar? Have you tried 5HTP or St. John's Wart? What did you like and dislike about them? I live in Wisconsin and can't seem to find anything more than individual therapy sessions. Thanks for reading! moreOpen Question: Spaniards: Why are some regions of USA more for Spain to win World Cup?
I'm American and found this news on ESPN, there are regional divides in America about which Americans want Spain to win and which ones want Netherlands to win the World Cup match. Here's the breakdown Southern states, West Coast (California, Oregon, Washington state), and New York State are pro-Spain Midwest and Rocky Mountain US States want Netherlands to win. Some states are VERY pro-Netherlands (see below): These are Montana (rural mountain western state) - 59% are behind Team Netherlands Alaska (way up North...cold Alaska) - 60% are for Team Netherlands Wyoming, (Dick Cheney's home state..... ) - 55% are behind Team Netherlands Nebraska (corn-growing state) - 56% are behind Team Netherlands South Dakota (baked beans and split peas grow here) - 54% are for Team Netherlands to win Kentucky (home of the Derby - horse races, bluegrass country music, frontier) - 58% Netherlands Delaware (first and oldest state in the United States) - 58% Netherlands. NOW the states most strongly backing Spain to win the world cup! Alabama (Sweet Home Alabama - for some reason) - 55% for Spain! Arkansas - Home of former President Bill Clinton (53% for Spain) Nevada (Home of Las Vegas Casinos and gambling in the Desert all that - (59% for Spain!) California (Home of Hollywood!!!!) (56% for Spain to win) Hawaii (Aloha) - 53% for Spain to win Texas - 55% for Spain to win New Mexico - 60% for Spain to win! I think I just solved it, tell me if I'm correct here. Thers is no polarization in the US, I would be shocked as an American if there were. What's going on here is some states have more latinos (Spanish-speaking Americans likely from Mexico).....and these are the people that care to vote Spain..... Those voting the Netherlands are those of English origin and some who strongly oppose illegal immigration from Mexico. What do Spaniards think of my analysis? This is something to look into, is it not?also New York is very pro-Spain to beat NetherlandsI believe among the serious soccer fans in the US, not that I meant to leave them out, but they'd be voting based on players, and since both Spain and Netherlands are great teams, this would go 50-50Edit: It might be that states containing an ocean and relatively larger spanish-speaking populations will be more likely to lean towards Spain if they care about the World Cup game. Those midwest and Northern states that are more Anglo-English, and those coastal states with extremely close ties to Britain (Massachusetts and South Carolina coast) go pro-Netherlands moreOpen Question: How much would my total cost be per month if I lived on my own?

I have three children from my previous marriage. They're biological father is on their birth certificate and through our divorce a child support case has been opened against him but It has been stuck in the assessment process for a few months. They said they're putting my paperwork into the system. He owes me roughly $8500 of back support. If I apply for TANF would that mean the state is now owed the back child support instead of me? Right now I get $495 total for the kids through his social security disability that counts as his monthly support payment to them. The people at the office said due to that low amount I qualify to recieve TANF but they couldn't answer the question about the back child support becoming the states or not. I'm not looking for rude replys just an answer to that question if someone happens to know. moreOpen Question: I need a website to find music events in texas.?

I need to send a mail to Texas one of these days and I want to be oriented as to how much it usually costs. I have been looking all over the place in the Internet to at least be aware of how much it costs and plan my spending. I'm from Manila (Quezon City) and the mail that I would be sending would probably fit into the smallest pouch as it is foldable. It's just really like a simple mail. How long does it usually take as well for it to reach its destination in the US? Thanks! 10 pts for the one who can give me an in-depth answer. moreOpen Question: When should I turn in my transfer college application and how much of my transcript will be on it?
I want to transfer to the University of North Texas in Spring. I'm going to community college in fall, and I also have 9 credit hours from dual credit classes and one summer class. I didn't get in for fall because I honestly had a horrible class rank, but my grades weren't terrible. Mainly B's and C's. But I'm doing pretty fantastic in college so far, and I'll get 16 credit hours from this fall. But if I want to transfer for spring, will they see those classes on my transcript? They look at both high school and college stuff if you're transferring with less than 30 credit hours. How good of a chance do I have getting in? It's not a difficult school to get into, but I also didn't get in the first time. When should I turn in my application (the deadline is December 1st for Spring transfers) and what will be on it? (Meaning transcripts.) moreOpen Question: Texas A&M student help?

I'm running out of minutes on my phone. I have about 2300 minutes left or so. I get 1400 more each month, and I have rollover minutes (at&t cell phone). I call my lady and friends (mostly lady) every day. I'm thinking of switching to the land/house phone. We both live states apart. California and Oklahoma. Will I get charged on the house phone for calling her? I've called a friend in Texas from there once before, and nothing bad happened yet. Okay, so, my boyfriend of 10 months went to Texas and will be there for a month. There is no way of communication because he doesn't have service where he is at. He's been there about 2 weeks and I've been really really lonely. Anyway, so basically last night I was laying in bed and my ex called me. Me and him are friends so I answered to see if he needed anything. We ended up talking for about 4 hours. I have no feelings for him. I feel terrible for doing this, I mean, since it's my ex and all. It's wrong to do that whenever I'm really committed in me and my boyfriends relationship. Does my ex still like me? He calls me randomly just to see how I'm doing and all that other crap. He always brings up our relationship and apologizes for everything. I just tell him it's the past and I'm happy with my boyfriend. What should I do? I feel absolutely terrible even though nothing happened at all, we just talked because I was lonely. moreOpen Question: I need help. I'm confused about my sexuality. What do I do?
I'm a 16 year old boy living in southeast Texas and I've been having feeling about my sexuality. I have an attraction towards women and a stronger attraction towards men. But now I'm wondered weather that's a good idea to marry someone that I don't know I truly love. I was always raised to believe what the bible says and I was always told that homosexuality is a sin so when I told my mom I was confused, she hated it. She even called me a F A G twice. I've also been wondering if something when I was younger may have triggered these feelings. I've saw my parents having sex when I was very young and I had sexual interactions with my male and female cousins when I was too young to know what I was doing. I grow up lying to myself that I was straight but now I don't know. Please help me. I do have a sexual attaction towards women buri want help now before I make a huge mistake later on in life. moreOpen Question: Is my ex-husband still responsble for half of our debt from our divorce if he filed bankruptcy?

Earlier this week, I was walking my dog in the park near my house and my dog spotted a snake. It was really small (i'm assuming a baby snake) and a smaller head. A little background, I live in North Texas and it's near a creek. It'd be raining a few hours before. hey there, I'm a 20 year old guy and I'm looking to get out of home again. I lived in the UK for 2 years and now I'm back in Germany (I'm not German tho, not really :) ) However, I want to get out, and I would love to work on a ranch for a while, learn how to ride a horse and just work with horses and nature... I can find websites where they offer group stuff and you have to pay a lot, what I'm looking for however would be where I could just live and work for them, be a part of the ranch and help where I can to repay them... you know ?! Like it used to be in the old days lol. Does anyone know how I could find this kind of thing ? I'm not too worried where it is, I'd love to be in the south of America though, preferably Texas... thanks for answering moreOpen Question: How can I afford full time Child Care for 2 kids?
I'm a single mom with three kids ages 6, 3 and 2. When I was pregnant with the 3rd my husband disappeared. I get no child support and was left with the mortgage, car payments, diapers...everything. I make decent money (50k/year) but with a $1,000/month mortgage, child care for TWO kids and health insurance I'm drowning. I live in Texas, and make too much money to qualify for any financial aide. They go to a family members house now for child care, but I don't think they are getting the stimulation they need to really grow and learn. But, I can't find anything decent for less than $125 week per child. After I pay my bills, I only have about $150 for food/clothes/medical bills/"fun stuff"/school stuff/anything that breaks around the house for two weeks for 4 people. There has got to be a better way....am I supposed to sell my house (which because of the market I'd be lucky to walk away dead even) and live in a crappy apartment in a dangerous neighborhood? Sell my car and walk everywhere in Texas heat with three small kids? Even the nearest grocery store is 4 miles away, with no bus route. I don't have anything fancy, don't shop EVER, am very careful with what I do spend...but i'm still drowning. According to the government i make more than enough though so what am I missing here?????I have thought about a second job, but it's the same issue...what do I do with the kids while I'm working? I don't have family around that will keep them. Is working 8-5, and then also nights and weekends part time my only option? I also thought about having a teen keep the kids, but that puts them in the same situation they are in now. And it's only temporary - until they return to school in the fall. moreOpen Question: I'm looking for a wedding photogropher that can come to Mesquite, Texas. I'm on a very tight budget.?

Someone used my truck to drive from Texas to Idaho. Along the way, they wound up going through something called E470, where no toll information or policies were posted (how much, etc). About a month later, I get a bill for $7.50 and they tell me I'm responsible for it because I'm the registered owner of the vehicle. This sounds like a total load...I did not drive on their stupid road and I did not authorize anyone to drive on their stupid road, and I don't even in live in Colorado. How can they possibly hold me legally liable for something I had no knowledge of. For that matter, how can they hold an out-of-state driver liable for any charges when they don't clearly state the charges at the point of entry....anyone? moreTop Texas A And M Links
