MEXICO CITY (AP) - Red Cross clinics in some parts of Mexico are refusing to treat people wounded by gunshots after finding themselves caught in the drug war, with cartel hit men intercepting ambulances to seize patients and even killing a Red Cross worker this week. Miguel Angel Valdez, director of operations for the Red Cross in the Gulf coast city of Tampico, said he implemented the policy after gunmen this week forced an ambulance over at gunpoint just two blocks from a Red Cross clinic and dragged off a man wounded in a gun battle. "We have made the decision at the (local) Red Cross not to accept patients from prisons or wounded in armed clashes, because that puts the safety of our personnel at risk," he said. In drug-plagued Sinaloa state on the Pacific coast, police started escorting ambulances and guarding Red Cross clinics after a Red Cross dispatcher was killed Sunday in crossfire by assailants who followed a wounded man to a clinic to finish him off. Maria Genoveva Rogers is believed to be the first Red Cross worker killed since President Felipe Calderon launched his drug war in 2006. Hundreds of emergency personnel, medical technicians and ambulance crews took to the streets in the Sinaloa capital of Culiacan, some holding a banner that read "Service Suspended ... Open Question: My boyfriend won't resolve our fights with me. What do I do?

My boyfriend lives in Louisiana and I live in Texas. He comes down once a month to see me. I'm also moving down to Louisiana this summer to be with him. But everytime we get in a fight or when he gets mad at me, he won't talk to me about it. He just ignores the problem and doesn't talk to me for a while, and then when he gets over it, he'll talk to me. I hate that he does this because we DO have a long distance relationship and we need to work out our issues or they'll only get worse. What do I do about this? more

Open Question: Question about trip to California, with a just over 1 year old.?

Okay, so my boyfriend's family all live in California and we are currently living in my home state of West Virginia. This summer we are going to be taking another trip to California to visit his family. I'm a bit concerned on how my daughter is going to do on the plane ride this time. The trip if I remember correctly from last summer was about 3-4 hrs straight from the airport in Washington, DC to the airport in Texas, where we had a hour lay over. Then I believe the remainder of the trip was another 3-4 hrs. from the airport in Texas to the airport in California. Now my daughter was only 2 months old last time we went and she did amazing on the plane, she basically slept the whole time. This time I'm concerned about the plane ride, because since she is mobile she hates sitting for a long period of time and when she gets mad she tends to throw her head around and throw a horrible fit (which we are trying to break, but having little success, so far). I was just wondering if anyone else has taken there just over 1 year old on a lengthy plane ride and how they acted? I'm afraid she's gonna throw a fit the whole time we're on the plane. more

Open Question: Changing the 'unknown' on my daughter's birth certificate.?

I am a mother of a 6 month old, beautiful baby girl. While I was pregnant the father abused me, so I got out of the relationship, and decided to not put his name on the birth certificate. We were never married. Now I'm in a very beautiful relationship. Things are getting very shaky with the father, he's unstable and is basically conning people into giving him money to try to fight me on custody and such. The man I'm with would like to adopt my daughter/ or be put on the birth certificate. I am in Texas, is there any way I can do this? Furthermore, is there any type of recourse from the actual father? He is not listed on the BC, and I do have abuse cases standing with Tarrant County that I can show in court, if it gets that far. Furthermore, I think all this drama is based on a drug induced psychosis, so I'm not very confident he'd even try to file for a paternity test..it might just be getting drug money in a very sad way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. more

Open Question: Will the state contact the father of the child before the baby is born?

I am pregnant and broke and just filed for pregnancy Medicaid. The real drama though is about the father.... he's married. I was curious as to when the state would contact him or start sending him letters in the mail notifying him of his responsibility to pay for the health care costs. With my first/only son so far they waited until after my son was born, but in that case I had 2 possible fathers since I got pregnant around the time I broke up with my bf of 7 years and had a fling with a guy I started seeing afterwards. In this case there is only one father listed since he's the only one who could be the father so I'm wondering if they process will be different. Anyone know about this sort of thing? (Btw I am in Texas if that helps) more

I'm considering getting large volume liposuction, but I can't find any information about plastic surgeons offering this procedure in the Chicago area. There seem to be plenty in Texas and California, but I would prefer to have it done closer to home. Open Question: Do solar powered attic vent fans work well?

I live in Texas and it gets ridiculously hot in the attic. I'm trying to improve the ventilation in the attic but the problem is that in the summer the winds in my area are pretty much non-existent, I would like a powered vent fan but as I understand it the power consumption defeats any savings in cooling so a solar powered vent fan seems like the ideal solution. Has anybody had any experience with these? Can anybody recommend a brand? I live in the Dallas area. more

Open Question: Parent Taught Driving? is it easy?

Over the years, I have heard how easy it is to do parent taught driving to get your permit, "you pay $20 and they just give you a book that you have to read, and hours for instructional driving, and then you can go take your permit test!" But now, I'm need to get my permit. but all the Parent Taught courses the DPS showed me are all online, or seem too complicated or too expensive. ****I live in Texas and am turning 16 next month. and in 3 months I will be moving out of state to South Dakota. more

Open Question: who wins with a straight on the table in texas hold em?

If a dealer lays a straight on the table with Q-J-10-9-8 and player A has a pair of J's and a 10, and player B has K....does player B win since they have a straight to the K or is the pot split since there is a straight on the board? Open Question: Can I get into the University of Texas at Austin?

I know about the 8% rule: I'm a Junior in TX. My GPA is 3.8 out of 4 5.02 out of 6 My rank is 161 / 702 (Top 22%) I am in French Club (Treasurer), I'll be President next year. I am also in Clements Earth, NHS and Clements Interact. I have completed more than 100 community service hours. My SAT score is around 2000 I took 1 AP class sophomore year, 2 this year, 4 next year. I also took numerous honors classes. Classes: 5 years of Social Studies / Math / Science I am a minority. I have lived in 5 different countries throughout my life. I am in Varsity Ice Hockey. Assistant Captain this year, maybe Captain next year. With my poor class rank, can I get into UT Austin? And, what else can I do? I go to one of the top schools in the nation, so they rank you differently. They take your weighted average into consideration. My weighted average is good, but not good enough to get in to the top ten at my school. Most people who are in the top ten don't even have as good a weighted gpa as I have. It's weird. And UT accepts top 8% automatically (I'm not in it), so I was wondering with my resume I can get in. more

Open Question: Mysterious dream, and ironic love, PLEASE READ AND HELP?

A few nights ago, I had a very special dream. I was reading my favorite book, and at the end, it told of some things that this old 19 century outlaw buried in Austin, Texas. So, I went their and found his things. It wasn’t much, but it was interesting. Then, his ghost appeared. I was incredibly intrigued by him. I constantly asked him questions, and fell in love with him quickly. At first, he was rude and pushed me away. But I wouldn't have it, and I kept pestering him, because I wanted him more than I’ve wanted any man before. Now, this is NOT like me. I'm typically a very independent person, and I almost never try to get a boyfriend. I never even had marriage in my future plans. But this was different. So, back to my dream. He ended up falling in love with me too. We had a strange love, being he was a ghost. Also, when he died, he didn’t pass over. He went to Purgatory. I’ve always believed in Purgatory. Now, when I woke up, it was one of those dreams that I just didn’t want to wake up from. When I woke up, I still felt this love for that man (wont say his name, but he is a real man.) However, I’ve never met him, practically never ever thought of him in my life, and he never interested me. But now, he was all I could think about. I’ve felt so in love ever since that dream, and I don’t want to let that slip away. I need advice, what did this dream mean? Did it mean anything? Why am I suddenly infatuated with him? How can I possibly, if possible, contact him? I know it sounds strange, but it’s eating away at me."Storm," it was nothing like that. He is a real human being who died. I'll rephrase it, I feel infatuated with someone I've never met, and who died 200 years ago.And he's not an it! He is a human being, and I was unfortunate enough to be born years after him... more

Open Question: How do you confront coworkers about racist comments?

I work at a hotel in Rio Rancho, NM and I've been having a problem with our night auditor. He is constantly saying very racist things. He is a very old Texas man who is extremely defensive. It is already hard to mention any sort of mistake he makes without him becoming extremely defensive and hostile. Although he has always made comments that could be considered racist, recently the things he says has become more malicious (IE laughing about the dead Haitians and using the "N" word to describe them; he believes every girl that checks in with a black guy is a prostitute; complaining that slowness in repairs at our work is due to owners religion; rants on about native Americans and claims they are all alcoholics.) This is really starting to bother me and I want to at least give him a chance to stop these inappropriate comments. I'm worried that a guest will overhear the comments he makes to me and blame me as well. Can anyone recommend a way I can bring this up in a delicate way?I want to speak to him about this before bringing this up to a Boss. I want to give him a fair chance to stop before reporting him. more

Open Question: Am I wrong or was this tattoo artist a jerk??!!?

Okay....so here is the deal!!! I'm 30 years old and stay fit. I go to a gym and just finished running my first half marathon back in November. I have been married 5 years and with my husband a total of 8 years. I have a masters degree and work as an accountant and plan to sit for the CPA exam within the next year. I'm telling you all this first of all to show you that I am not your stereotypical lower back tattoo candidate. I'm not a tramp and haven't been with many people in my life. I've always had nothing but the highest of morals. Anyways, I have been thinking about getting a lower back tattoo for a while and my husband thinks that it will look really good and he has been encouraging me to "just do it". So, I put a deposit down on the design that I want and the I didn't research the artist well and he dismissed me and would not communicate with me, so I decided to go elsewhere. Then, I went into another parlor after I did a TON of research and got recommendations and this guy's work is phenomenal. I thought, surely, my tattoo will be a cinch for him and I will feel so honored to have his art on my body. His collegue interrupted him while he was working even after I told him that I was fine waiting until he had time to talk to me and there was no rush. I told him my idea which is below and he just turned into a real ass. He said he was booked up for 3 weeks and I said I was fine with waiting until he had time. Then he said he was a real artist and has seen tattoos like this his whole career and he has been trying to get away from them and wanted to put me off on one of his apprentices. He said that he hated wasting his time on me when someone else could be getting a portrait, a sleeve, or a more unique tattoo done instead. He admitted that he was a "pompus asshole" and that he hated my fucking tattoo design and hated tribals. I told him that I didn't want a tribal and that the design I showed him just was a foundation for my idea. I wanted the artist to have creative capabilities and run with them. He insulted all of the pictures I brought to him and said that the idea could mean the world to me but that I would just be a paycheck to him and he would hate doing it. But, he would fit me in anyway because he could tell that I really wanted him to do it (GEE.....don't do me any favors....) He said I'm sorry I'm cranky but I don't like being interrupted when I'm working! HELLO....I DIDN'T INTERRUPT YOU....YOUR COWORKER DID!!!! UGH!!!! They were the ones that told me to come into the shop to speak to him directly. I called first!!! So.....my idea is below.....and I know that it is cliche' and unoriginal....and typical.......HOWEVER.....it has meaning behind it even if the location and the actual design are typical to someone outside looking in.......does it matter except to the person who is wearing it? First off, it will be a red rose in the middle of a vine design (the picture I showed him was tribal, but I wanted vines with leaves, thorns, maybe some butterflies or a ladybug for accents). I know that roses are typical, but "believe it or not" it has significance to me and there was a reason I chose this. The rose itself is in honor of my grandmother who died in January. She was known for her green thumb and before she died she wanted to smell a real rose. So, my church contacted a rose greenery down in Texas and they sent her a rose bush for free and my dad took a picture of her sitting next to it. That was the last picture taken of her before she died and the place in Texas has planned on naming a rose after my grandmother, "Claribel." A lot of people say that I have a lot of her strength inside of me! The red color stands for love, respect, and strength. Beneath the rose, the chinese symbol for water will stem down (possibly in green with thorns and possibly just stay black) and it stands for life, higher wisdom, transformation, renewal, intuition, and blessing. I may have a drop of water falling off of the bottom of this symbol. This part of the tattoo stands for all of the adversities that I have faced over the past year and overcome. My parents of 32 years split up, I graduated college and fought unemployment for 6 months, and my 95 year old grandmother died. My family has been through so much, but we are survivors and are moving forward! This tattoo will be like freezing a moment in my life that I never want to forget. A moment when the odds were against me and I persevered!!! Ironically, the water symbol is also my astrological sign as well since I am a Cancer. Anyway....Here is a link to my idea. They put me into a box with other naive girls who just get a lower back tat for the hell of it and judged me. I thought they would have been the last to judge. I would feel honored that people would want to wear my art on their bodies for life. That's a big deal, but now I'm just hurt and insulted. I don't know if I will get a tattoo or not if that is how I am going to be treated. It definitely has not been the positive experience I thought it was going to be.HAHAHA!!!! That's awesome!!! My husband said he was a dick too!!!I understand that tattoo artists have seen a lot of the same things over and over again. That is fine. Maybe I would just like to be treated fairly and have a decent first experience with getting a tattoo. I don't think that is a lot to ask. My idea might be typical, however, it has significance to me and THAT is what matters. I don't care if it means anything to him. Its called respect. Open Question: I am from Australia and I am wanting to study In the USA.?

hey :) I'm from Australia and i want to study in the USA in August, I am in the eleventh grade. I'm applying for a F-1 Student Visa, since I can't afford to go on an exchange student program. The exchange program explained to me that I am not allowed to stay with my family or choose where I want to go. So I don't want to do that. But I am doing the f-1 student visa thing. So I can stay with my aunt in Texas, Dallas. Its cheaper that way, and she can help with my bills with high school too. Can you get a job on a student visa? I've studied it a lot but I don't really understand it. I'm studying really hard, and saving a lot. How much does it cost to go to a public high school in Texas? Or anywhere else. Resolved Question: What is the easiest, most painless way to tell my father about my period?

It's his acursed genetics that gave me the insane heavy flow during my menstrual cycle, and DEMON cramps where I cannot move and I'm on the edge of going to the hospital. Just putting it short, I have hell periods and it's a personal problem that usually interferes with my life; most of those times, I need to get my father to understand that I am having one of those hell menstruals. (When I need to lift something, why I need to go to the bathroom so often and stay in there so long, why there's blood on my sleeve, why I have a psychotic look in my eyes when he only asked me to come downstairs, etc) Currently my way of breaking it to him is hissing/growling/yelling, "I'm bleeding out the freakin canal, here!" or "Blood. Clot, size o Texas. Leak. Pain." more

Open Question: Is refinancing my mortgage the answer?

I have been divorced for 5 years and my credit is being dragged thru the mud for the fact that I never went thru a lawyer to get all the details worked out of the divorce. i.e. division of property, etc. I just wanted out as fast as possible. Since then, my ex has been living in the house we bought while married and has been making the payments with the money she gets from me every month. Until recently there has been no problems. Since my name is still on the mortgage I get updates from the bank and I found out that the payments are 120 days behind and getting close to the foreclosure stage. We dont talk so I cant find out what the problem is (nor would she tell me if I did ask) and my credit is diving fast. I'm not familiar with the legal aspect of this so I was wondering. If I refinance under my name only, can I force her out of the house under texas law since it was not awarded to either party during the divorce? more

Open Question: Can I sue the Texas DMV ?

I got a speeding and a no insurance ticket in Austin 3 years ago. I sent in the money for the speeding ticket and a copy of my proof of insurance. The Police Dept. sent me back a receipt for the speeding ticket and a dismissal of the no Insurance ticket. A year goes by and the Austin Municipal Court send me a request of the Insurance money. I explained my case to the phone solicitor who instructed me to get a copy of the Ticket Dismissal and send it to the DMV. I called the prescient who sent me a copy of the ticket dismissal and I sent it to the Municipal Court. All is well.... now, a another year later, they send me a letter saying my liens is suspended and they want a 130 dollar Surcharge Default and Suspension. Can I sue the DMV if I'm pulled over and arrested??? Anyone out there have a similar problem... and solution??? thanks more

Open Question: Canadian Healthcare, can I use it when I move to US?

I live in Vancouver, BC, and I moved here 5 years ago, now I'm a permanent citizen. I'm going to be moving to Texas soon because my pops is having difficulties with his cancer, and he needs my help. I may be there for 1-3 years. During that time, am I still able to use Canadian Healthcare if I fly back up to Vancouver when I need to? Hi everyone, Today I just found out that i'm about 9 weeks pregnant and during what would have been week 7 I went tanning 5 days in a row. I tanned 10-15 minutes each time and used the fans however I'm worried I may have harmed my baby. I havent used the tanning bed since and dont plan on it but I was just wondering if I couldve harmed my baby. I know tanning beds arent good to begin with but Im going to Texas in a few weeks and didnt want to get fried down there, but i've sworn off them since I found out im prego.Thanks everyone, I feel at ease. Open Question: I received a no insurance ticket last year and paid the deferment, did community service and def. driving...?

The deferment was $400 to keep them from putting it on my record but I'm guessing it did because I received a surcharge fee from the state of Texas for driving w/o insurance! Okay. This is rough. To start off I'm a 15 year old freshman from Texas. I've liked this boy since 8th grade when he comforted me when no one else could after a tragic event. I've had a crush on him ever since and he had a girlfriend who also happened to be a friend of mine. I grew very close to this boy over the summer and in the beginning of freshman year. Soon he's come to me for everything and we'd always hang out together. He was my bestest friend :] People started to ask if we were dating and when he broke up with my friend.This took a toll on all three of us and it had been called a triangle. We started to fight a lot because of the stress and pressure and I decided that after 8 months I was tired of waiting for this guy. He finally said he couldn't take loving two girls at once and it was breaking his heart to do so. He decided it'd be best if he took time off to think things through before he decided anything and broke up with her and he avoided us for a while. It was ripping me apart inside and I hated it. Eventually he came back and asked me out. But before he did he made sure my friend had a boyfriend( they are happy and its ben three months so far for them :] ) I thought it was really sweet! We told each other everything and this was the first time I'd ever felt this way about a guy! We held hands and kissed and visited each other's parents and it was wonderful. After that we dated a month and his parents had made plans to move and it was horrible. He was determined to show he was dedicated to me and even said he'd get us promise rings. The promise was to stay abstinent and faithful to each other. I loved that he was so willing to prove his commitment but..i don't know. something didn't seem right and it picked at me. I finally called his mom and convinced her to stay and we were freaking out because she agreed! :]Then a month later he goes to church with a friend and he took a HUGE change in faith. And at the moment I was atheist. He told me he loved me and nothing could ever change that but he couldn't date someone who didn't believe in God. We broke up. I didn't want to change for a guy. The people you love should love you back for who you are unconditionally. My family was always trying to bring me to church and get me to pray with them and we always fought over it. I started to think of how it'd bring my family closer if I believed Him and I borrowed a bible and read some scriptures. Afew days later I wanted to be saved. I gave my life to God. My cousin saved me and I made her and her friend cry because I use to be against everything they stood for. After that me and my friend celebrated and she told me maybe I could get back with the guy. I texted him what happened and he freaked out and begged for me back saying how hard it was to live without me.I read the bible every night and tried to go to church when my parents let me. A week or two after that, one of my boyfriend's church friends(whom I had never actually met just talked to) asked me to go to Hot Hearts with them and after fighting with my mom I finally got her to say yes! We went and I met her and her "boyfriend". I say it that way because they were in love and had known each other for years but weren't dating. Her "boyfriend" made a promise to God not to date in high school and she respected that. They were determined to date after high school. They each thought the other was"the one". I felt really sorry for her :[ she had to wait 3 more years to finally be with the guy she's in love with. I prayed that would never happen to me.THEN another month laster, out of nowhere...My boyfriend breaks up with me. He stayed on the phone with me for three hours trying to explain why but I didn't understand kept crying.He tried his hardest to stop me from crying and make me laugh but he didn't understand that he was breaking my heart!He kept changing his reasons for breaking up with me and we fought over it until finally he said he hated me. I went to my best friend since kindergarten and my "older brother"(over protective friend). They went looking for him and didn't find him. Me and my now ex-boyfriend we still fighting and out of nowhere he said "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME??". I was confused. He said that someone told him the my "older brother" was going to get people to jump him. I freaked out! I didn't want the boy I loved to be hurt!! He told his real older brother and his brother got more people to jump back.The next day at school I got there early and escorted him around. Come to find out that the someone that told him called it off but his brother wouldn't listen and still tried to fight. We eventually went to the counselor, just me and him, and sorted out EVERYTHING! It was a relief! ;] He says he wants me to be happy and doesn't mind if I date in high school (which I'm not going to do) He doesn't want to date in high school but wants me to wait for him. He says he'll always love me and all this is to make himself a better person forme. He still gets mad when guys mess around with me and we talk for hours at a time. We just don't touch as much or visit eachother anymore :] I love him to death <3 So tell me what you think on this whole situation! Whats your opinion? Do you think we can do this? I am searching for ways to find a travel trailer’s title. So far I have taken this steps with no successes: 1. I called my local title office in Texas and they told me that there was no title in Texas for it. 2. I made sure there were no taxes owed in Texas. 3. Searched by the address of the person on the first bill of sale to see what county it had been in Florida. 4. I called Florida's title office from the county were the first bill of sale was given on, but they said the sticker on the travel trailer just means it was a residence at one point and that they didn't have a title. 5. Called a Holiday Ramblete dealer that said all they could give me was a value and an idea of where to verify the VIN# on the trailer. I'm out of ideas a side from trying to write a letter to the person mention on the bill of sale from Florida. I'm open to any ideas on how to help the current owner get a title for it so he can get licenses plates for it. Can anyone else think of something I missed. more

Open Question: Separation,Still Legally Married,Husband Filed Taxes,Claimed Kids,Can't Get Info?

My husband and I recently seperated, in October of last year, although not legally. Technically and legally we are still married, even though he is now in Florida and I am in Texas with the kids waiting until I can file for divorce. He filed taxes for 2009, but claimed the kids. I thought to do this, you have to file as 'married filing jointly', since we are married legally. If he did do this, then my signature was forged. If he filed as 'married filing seperately', then he must have said I had no job, which I did. If he got my job information, then it was against my consent. I am unsure of how he was able to claim the kids, and I can't even get information on the return because I'm not him. How do I figure out these issues? I was also wondering if being a victim of domestic violence has any effect on my taxes when I file, and if - when I do file here shortly - when it goes to the IRS, will they catch anything I don't know about from my husband's taxes, such as using my name, or other exemptions or credits he wasn't supposed to claim. I have recieved none of his return and was also wondering if I am even entitled to any. more

Open Question: Is it legal use an expandable baton on your (house) property ?

I'm thinking it is legal to use whatever on your property but i just want to be absolutely sure. I recently just found out a baton is illegal to have in Texas. I am a CHL holder, but a gun is absolutely my last option. I rather use non-lethal force and a baton is the option before a gun for me if it is on my property. So is it legal to use a baton, or even whatever kind of weapons as long as its on your property ? Resolved Question: If I have a home improvement loan and the construction takes longer than expected, what happens?

I live in the State of Texas and recently obtained a home improvement loan for a house I purchased. The contract and lien that I signed with the bank stated that the improvements would have to be completed within 60 days of execution of the contract. Between the bad weather we've had and the contractor's other work, it's looking like the project will span beyond the 60 days stated. My question is...what happens? I've made my payments on the loan, but the bank is going to want a lien release at the end of 60 days, which the contractor will not provide, as the work hasn't been completed. I'm just wondering what the bank is going to do when 60 days gets here and the work hasn't been completed yet? I don't want to get screwed because my contractor took too long to complete the work. more

I have a family member who lives in Texas w/Bi-Polar Disorder (which has been diagnosed by a doctor). She does not take medication for this disorder and has proven many times that she is a physical danger to herself and others. She will not go willingly into a State Hospital for psychiatric treatment and I'm afraid that the only way she will get proper treatment is to have her committed to a hospital via a court order. I understand that many people think negatively of police officers probably from the fact that we pull people over and give them tickets. In addition, a lot of the time people hear about police officers is when they do something bad (usually caught on dashcam) and is featured nation-wide on TV stations, etc. Some police officers are just arrogant and think they can do everything. I'm a 24 year old police officer in a large metropolitan city in Texas. I honestly try to be a nice police officer. I don't write tickets (unless in extreme cases) and I treat everyone with respect. It just sucks how that there are some genuinely nice police officers who really just want to serve citizens...but there are other arrogant @$#holes (we have some in the city I work at). I will pick best answer based on a tally of points. You can find what I award points for as you read. Preferably out west. *5 points for this* I like SUN *10 points*, warm weather *5 points* also but can deal with cold as long as its sunny. LOTS AND LOTS of OUTDOOR activites. Nature, organic farming (10 points for being an organic-minded city/town), fishing (5 points for great fishing), rivers, lakes (5 points for rivers or lakes within 20 miles). Within 4-6 hours drive of a beach is a plus(5 points). I'm unconcerned with job/salaries because of the nature of my work. What I do look for is low crime/drugs *20 points*, good schools *10 points* (I have 2 young kids). The states I like are California, Oregon, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico in that order (5 points for suggestions made in those states). Would consider Montana/Wyoming but I don't know much about them and they are kind of out of the way. If there's any great places out east or central feel free to throw those in. I like fairly rural within 100 miles of a larger city. If there are any colleges with a good conservatory/music program that is a bonus *15 points!* Also every whole foods market or similar within 10 miles is 5 points. *5 points* for having a strong historical/archaeological aspect (ie:williamsburg, va) regardless of where you pick, even if its not out west and you didn't get too many points before I will award 25 points for the most unique appealing place that I wouldn't otherwise find out about. For example here in Virginia, Western Loudoun County has some beautiful small historic towns, with great vineyards, hiking areas, old town shopping, fine dining, and horse country aspects.
