If you notice stores around the world always prepare for christmas in an earlier time each year its always in stores earlier than last year, and movies always start showing around July even some christmas music. When it comes to Holloween it always comes in the last minute for all stores. Movies is never shown until the end of september and really now should be the time to show. Open Question: What are some really good horror movies?

Alright so I've basically seen quite a few of the most recommended ones and so far haven't seen anything bone chilling and nightmarish. There have been some really good ones and bad ones. Here's a list of the one's I've seen and if they were good or bad. The Ring - really great plot, but not really scary The Strangers - complete garbage, no plot, hardly even entertaining Texas Chainsaw Massacre (new) - one of the worst movies i've ever seen, weak plot, just people getting murdered One Missed Call - easily one of the worst movies of all time, enough said Paranormal Activity - really good movie and deff one of my favorites, but it was slightly overhyped The Shining - pretty good but the plot was too confusing considering i haven't read the book The Descent - scary only for the screamer factor, but weak plot Splice - not really scary, but its worth mentioning that it was disturbing on many levels Surveillance - haha this was the funniest garbage i've ever seen, i don't think they intended for it to be scary The Fourth Kind - boring, pointless, stupid... but i've heard from people that its much scarier in theater Dawn of the Dead - great action and comedy together, but not too scary The Crazies - really good in the gore aspect, but a little bit more of a thriller than horror The Blair Witch Project - idk i fell asleep during this... too slow in the beginning The Uninvited - garbage Quarantine - easily one of my favorites. great plot. great scares. everything Overall, I prefer movies with a deep plot rather than just slashers with no plot. Something that combines the good plots of Paranormal Activity and The Ring with great scares like Quarantine. Also something within the past two decades is preferred since the old ones haven't been great. Any suggestions? more

Resolved Question: What is a good movie to watch? New or old?

Just to give you an idea of my type. I like almost all kinds, my favorite scary movies are one's that are realistic like texas chainsaw, the exorcism, or even some like final destination or wrong turn, silence of the lamb, kiss the girls, and more.. Real suspense, thrillers, psychological thrillers, criminal one's interests me too. Based on true stories works! I like a little stephen king, but i think i've seen all the one's i'd like. including secret window & the shawshank being my fav.. Romantic comedies are okay but you tend to run into the same old story lines so...I did like dear john, the time travelers wife and remember me. I love hard to kill, a perfect world, the guardian, the professional and the die hard trilogies. With that said, I love kevin costner (seen robin hood & the postman), I love bruce willis too (pulp fiction).... Gosh I may have seen every movie. I just can't think of any. I just hate slow, same story been told before...So, any jaw dropping absolutely good movies, probably an old one, aye? thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: Crazy dream for two nights now?

I was just wondering if someone could help me interpret this dream? I've had two similar ones for two nights now. The night before last night, I had a REALLY messed up dream. Something about my falling in love with some guy I've never seen in my life before, and another person/thing got jealous and sliced off my legs around the calf area. In my dream in looked like a dark figure but I knew it was another boy. The dream was a lot stranger, but I can't really remember it all. I remember that I had to flee from these monkey things that were trying to shoot me with arrows, and the guy I "fell in love" with saved me. So last night, I had another dream that I traveled to Texas. And in my dream I was trying to run away from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre guy. And every time I ran away from him, he would appear in front of me hiding in the bushes. In my dream I finally stopped running and he stood in front of me, threw his chainsaw at me and it cut off my legs, in the same spot as my other dream. I'm not sure if this means anything about my legs getting chopped off, but I would just like to know if it does. I was curious and a little sketched out. Thanks in advance to all the answers! more

OK so...I am a HUGE horror film buff but lately I've been expanding my interests and going to different genres. That said, I don't watch any of those crappy modern day slashers that are straight-to-DVD and are sold at Wal-Mart. However, I am interested in finding films that are similar to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Last House on the Left, (the originals), and Wolf Creek. I'm planning to make a movie next summer. Here's a few ideas i have had. Which one is best? 1. Zombie Beach - Nazi Zombies (the result of an experiment by a devil-worshipping SS officer) kill and devour anyone who comes near their abandoned bunker. Locals avoid this French beach because of the unexploded ammunition but 8 British teens go there during their gap year to surf and smoke weed. 2. Vengeance From Beyond the Grave - Based on an Edgar Allan Poe story and inspired by Corman's B-movies. A 19th century soldier apparently commits suicide to escape his brutal officer, then returns to haunt him and drive him to his death 3. Teds - A film set in 1950s England about 2 rival gangs of Teddy Boys. There will be a lot of violence, prejudice and paranoia from the adults, romance between the Teds' leader and a high class girl from a conservative family, a rockabilly soundtrack, and an exciting car chase between a customised Ford Zephyr and Rover P5 4. Sawney Bean - The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, set in 16th century Scotland. Sawney is patriarch of an inbred cannibal family who butchers travellers and abducts women to rape. They leave no survivors, until one day a victim escapes their larder and informs King James. The cannibals (with the exception of Sawney and his youngest son) are captured and tortured to death in various gruesome ways 5. I just got an email, i have never even seen this user before on previous posts... From: Oklahoma U Subject: you stupid ***** Message: It will be the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE on you. I will use a chainsaw to rip your brain out and put it in the deep fryer and cut your spine out and grill it. I will kill you and your family and butcher them for burrito meat. Now... i dont like people that "think" they are big sh*t. If someone knows this person inform me how to get ahold of them, someone is not gonna threaten MY FAMILY and get away with it.
