I had a baby by a veery money hungry girl just as i joined the military...to make a long story short the relationship didn't last long AT ALL and she tried putting me on child support while I was deployed. Okay now that you know that.....she bragged repeteadly about how she thought she was going to get 6 or 700 monthly( which is more than enough to live off of in south dallas specially if your on gov. assistance, im from there I know first hand) and she didn't even try to tell me about the court date for child support ...I slipped up and found out(facebook gets ya!!!! , ne who my I was giving her WAY more than 700 a month just out the kindness of my heart and paying ALL her bills.....on top of this ....she bought the child nothing he steady ordered the child clothes shoes ETC from off the computer while i was on orders diff. places. I did all this for a girl that doesn't want to have anything to do with me and don't even want me to have anything to do with my child....no matter hooow hard i tryand still try. Now that you got the just of the type of female im are dealing with. This girl didn't do her research ...IM A GUARDSMEN....& just always found a way to stay mobbed. So when i returned from Iraq AND Finlay went to court and gave MY dd214 (states i was off orders) so they went off ME making 13 / hr at a civilian job 40 plus hrs.....MY child support is 210/month..AND BY THIS POINT I FELT LIKE THAT'S ALL SHE DESERVES......(her mom is the main caretaker for the kid he lives with her, and any money she gets from me she buys him nothing)...she asked for a evaluation.....(thinking im on orders)....but now im working only 12 to 15 hrs /week and I am a full time student , and now have a wife and another child to take care of also......honestly I really cant afford for child support to be raised to be perfectly honest....im a guardsman which means I live a average normal life and try to make ends meat like everyone else....SO what im asking is what will probably happen at this hearing.....and in all honesty I give the child everything he could ever want and need....I just DO AND WILL not let cash hit his mothers hand....cause he will never see it!!!!!!!!...soooo child support is wasted money that i could be adding to his bank account!!!!!!...........and please dont speak on coustody i do not live close anymore and it would be wrong to take him away from the only family he has ever known considering he is being raised by his grandmother......(I was gone right after he was consived military.....on orders as he as growing up...military......and I dont even live close enough to make sure he gets to have the same time as he does now with his grandparents considering he lives with them...that would be wrong.......NO JUDGMENT ANSWERS ONLY ANSWERS PERTAINING THE QUESTION PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!!! moreResolved Question: Would my wife would be able to claim any money from me if we had been seperated our entire marriage?
Me and my wife have been married for 6 months going on 7. We have been seperated for 3 months so far. Were not legally seperated but we both reside in two different states. For some reason she is determined not to file for a divorce. We have no children, established no place of residence or anything. What would happen if I just forget that I'm married for like a year or two because my money is extremely tight and I don't have the energy or time for it; I leave the state and never file for divorce. Were both 22 years old. We seperated because of her infidelity which I have solid proof on. Would she be able to get spousal support even though we never lived together or had children. Which she be able to claim anything. If we had been seperated nearly our entire marriage? If my income shoots through the roof. Say 40 - 50,000 and I somehow make much more then her would she be able to claim anything even though she never helped by anything, own anything. No shared bank accounts no nothing. I'm moving to houston Texas or denver colorodo and I heard there rulings are biased toward the female. Currently I reside in CT.Wait she can still claim half? Would that work both ways? Whats the time limit I have for her to be egilible to claim half? moreResolved Question: Judgment In Texas- received letter in mail.?
I recently fell behind on my Samuel's card for a engagement ring and only had $200 to pay before i lost my job and after late fees the amount is now $600 and I recently received a letter from an Attorney stating if i don't pay the amount off in full in 30 days they will file a Judgment against me. Now ive heard different things about "Judgments in Texas online so far". 1. they cant do anything after the judgment 2. they can Garnish from your bank account. 3. they cant garnish from your pay check- only the IRS/child support can. But the main thing is, I want to pay what i owe but i Def. dont have the $600 this very moment since i just started working again, do i Call the Attorney office and work something out or ask to speak to Samuel's Credit dept. This letter was with the regular mail today. moreResolved Question: Did my landlord commit fraud? If so what do I do from here?
We mailed a check to our landlord for our last months rent with a letter stating that we will be moving out at the end of the month so this would be our last rent check. For some reason the bank rejected the check and he called and asked for a new one. The new check was received by him on the 20th. He called daily leaving voice mail messages calling us "liars" and that we "did not send the check and bouncing a check over 1000 dollars is a felony in the state of Texas". After telling him daily that his check shows it was already delivered he began to call the people on our lease application like my spouses work asking for his boss and an address to the business. The calls are all recorded so my spouse went back and listened to it and he was very rude to the man who answered the phone so we decided to call the police. They told us that once we pay him we probably won't have any further issues. When the land lord called back we told him that we were already completely moved out of the house and that we just wanted to end this harassment and we were willing to wire the money immediately. Later that night we received another call from him saying that two hours before he made the phone call agreeing to let us transfer the money he had cashed the rent check. He was holding the check for the last three days before cashing it and calling demanding money and threatening legal action if he wasn't paid. So now he has been paid twice for the last months rent......What do I do????The first check was not "bad" the bank rejected it for unknown reasons. We had more than enough money to cover the check and have the bank records to prove that. And the lease was over at the end of this month so we did not break lease. To be honest there was no actual lease signed just an application filled out. moreResolved Question: Debit Card Fraud? Help!?
I was reviewing my debit card transactions today and noticed something strange. I was charged $12 dollars by a plastic surgeons office in Austin, Texas. I don't live near Texas, nor did I make this purchase. This also happened with the same debit card not too long ago, but in a different state at a dentists office. The charge was very small so I didn't even have any concern for it and figured it must have been some online purchase I made. Now I'm concerned that someone has my debit card information. I've never had anything like this happen to me before, so what should I do? Should I contact the doctors office? My bank?If this helps at all, I make a lot of online purchases, but they're usually with secured websites. moreResolved Question: Did access to guns save all these people?

I have not paid my car note for almost a year now and the bank continuously calls me but they have not been able to repo the car. I don't go to drastic measures to hide from them but I do have a garage that I park the car in while at home. The bank is telling me that in my state (Texas) not giving the car up is considered Grand Theft Auto and I could face a felony charge? Is this true? moreResolved Question: If you're a supporter of death penalty, why exactly do you support it?
Seriously, it doesn't reduce crime(The murder stats are actually higher in the states that use death penalty compared to non-death penalty states.), innocent people are being executed, it doesn't work as a deterrent, it violates the "cruel and unusual" clause in the Bill of Rights, it cannot provide social stability nor bring peace to the victims and it sends the wrong message(why kill people who kill people to show killing is wrong) AND I always love how some people say something like "My tax dollars could be better spent at the food bank or the homeless shelters than those murderers". Well, in that case, I SUGGEST you to support life in prison, since it costs less than death penalty. North Carolina spends $2.16 million per execution more than the costs of a non-death penalty murder case. In Texas, the death penalty costs an average of $2.3 million per execution, three times more expensive than imprisoning someone in a single cell at the highest security level for 40 years. In California, The additional cost of confining an inmate to death row, as compared to life in prison without parole, is $90,000/year per inmate. With state budgets in crisis, some states are looking at ending the death penalty, entirely for economic reasons. New Jersey took that step in 2007. moreVoting Question: Property taxes we didn't know or owe bought by 3rd party who are wanting us to pay up or get out?
Oh boy, this is a mess and do I ever need advice! When my husband was married to his second wife, both of their names were on each others property deeds. As part of their divorce in 2004, each were to have their names removed from the others deeds. Her home would then be hers alone with him having no claims on it and him likewise. Their lawyers secretary made a mistake. The secretary made the mistake of giving my husbands ex wife her property and giving her his property. My husband spotted the mistake and contacted the lawyer. The lawyer apologized, sent my husbands ex papers (which she filled out and sent back to the lawyer), and gave my husband a document entitled "Deed Of Correction". In this document it clearly states: In a prior deed by and between the Grantor and Grantee herein, dated October 17, 2004, recorded in Deed Book XXX, page XXX, XXX County Court Records, the parties were incorrectly named, therefore, the parties by this Deed of Correction correct and make good that deficiency. The party of the first part, Grantor, Jane Doe, does hereby, convey unto the said party of the second part, Grantee, John Doe, all her rights, title, claim, interest and undivided interest in and to the following described real property lying and being in XXX County, Kentucky, to wit: ... Then it lists my husbands property lines. Today we received a letter from a firm based in Texas. They claim to have bought my husbands property due to his ex wife not paying her taxes on his property in 2005. This firm is demanding us to pay over $1,700 by the last of September or will throw us out! My husband has homestead and pays all his yearly taxes when they are due. Just two weeks ago we were thinking about using his property as collateral to get a bank loan so we could buy a better model handicap van (I'm quadriplegic and my van has seen better days). Even though we knew we paid our taxes, he rung up the County Clerks office to make sure everything was free and clear (no back taxes, liens, or what not). The secretary at the County Clerks office checked and told us the property was free and clear! How can a firm clear in Texas buy a tax debt "owed" by his ex wife on property when she doesn't have any claims to my husbands property? They weren't even married in 2005, her name wasn't on the deed, and he paid his 2005 taxes! My husband is going to see a lawyer in the morning, but can anyone give me any advice as to what else we can do and expect? I'm just a nervous wreck thinking how someone can buy our home for $120 in taxes no one knew or owed and are wanting $1,700 or we're homeless! We are both disabled and on fixed incomes so $1,700 is a small fortune to us! moreVoting Question: Need Probate Attorney - Tarrant County Texas?
My father-in-law passed away. He and my mother-in-law both had wills. His bank account is frozen. The bank states we need a letter of testament. Do attorneys expect their fees up front? I need a Probate attorney who will wait until the funds are "unfrozen" to receive the funds. Can anyone recommend an attorney? moreVoting Question: Food Stamps in Texas with no Social Security Card?
I'm thinking about applying for foodstamps within the state of Texas. The thing is, I don't have a Social Security Card. I do have a valid Texas Driver's License though, as well as the necessary paystubs, apartment lease, and bank statements. Is it still possible to apply for foodstamps? Someone told me that I don't actually need the physical Social Security Card, and that I only need to know my Social Security number (which I do). Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Did u know...?very important fact about monday night RAW?
Did u know that yesterday they taped 2 episodes of RAW so here are the results of the yesterday episode and the spoilers for next week: Yesterday results: WWE Monday Night Raw July 26, 2010 Location: San Antonio, Texas Report by: Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com Note: David Stephens was having some issues with both his power and internet earlier this evening and will return next week. John Cena is out to kick off the show. He talked about how The Nexus domminated Raw for weeks on end and how that will end once his team takes them out at Summerslam. Chris Jericho comes out and said he takes offense to Cena calling it "his" team. He said he isn't Cena's friend and is only on this team because he wants to get back at Wade Barrett and Nexus for what they did to him. Cena smacked the mic out of Jericho's hand and told him to stop it. He put over how important Jericho was to the team. Jericho tells him to never slap a mic out of his hand ever again. He berates Cena saying they will all follow his rules at Summerslam. We get the email noise and the Raw GM wants to weigh in. The GM books Cena and Jericho in a tag team match tonight against two opponents to be named later. Also confirmed is that the big 7-on-7 tag team match at Summerslam will now be an elimination match. Cole reading the email concluded, "And if you're not down with that, we've got two words for ya..." -Commercial break- We see highlights from last week of The Miz trying to cash in his "Money in the Bank" briefcase against Sheamus, but R-Truth breaking it up when he came out to confront Miz. Back live, WWE Champion Sheamus is on his way out and takes a seat next to Lawler and Cole. Randy Orton def. Jey Uso. Orton beat Uso with an RKO in a short match. After the match, Sheamus ran in and ended up kicking Jimmy Uso (who was at ringside) with a big kick to the face. Orton then hit Sheamus with an RKO. The Miz's music hit and he ran out trying to cash in his "Money in the Bank" briefcase for a second week in a row. Orton then rolled back in and gave Miz an RKO to break it up. Backstage, Edge runs down The Great Khali to Ted DiBiase and Maryse saying he shouldn't be on the team at Summerslam. As he walks away, we see Ranjin Singh listening on in the background. -Commercial break- Back live, The Miz and Sheamus are arguing. We get the email noise and we need to excuse Michael Cole. The Raw GM has found the team that will challenge John Cena and Chris Jericho tonight - WWE Champion Sheamus and WWE United States Champion The Miz. Summerslam Recall: From 1988 when The Ultimate Warrior defeated The Honky Tonk Man to become the new WWF Intercontinental Champion. Backstage, The Great Khali walks in Edge's room with Rajin Singh. Singh said he told Khali what he said earlier. Edge said that is crazy as he respects Khali. Khali challenges Edge to a match tonight. Edge says he will only accept under one rule: if he beats Khali then Khali is off the team at Summerslam. -Commercial break- Edge vs. The Great Khali ended in a no contest. The stipulation was that if Khali lost then he was off the seven man team at Summerslam against The Nexus. Halfway through the match, The Nexus walked down. Both Edge and Ranjin Singh bailed. Nexus surrounded the ring and then surrounded Khali in the middle of the ring. Khali stared them all down. The Nexus then backed off and allowed Khali to leave the ring. -Commercial break- The Nexus def. Team Raw (Mark Henry, Goldust, David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu & Jerry "The King" Lawler) in a 7-on-7 elimination match. This is a preview of the tag team match at Summerslam. Yoshi Tatsu was eliminated first by Michael Tarver hitting a big snap powerslam. Jerry Lawler was eliminated during the break when Lawler by Heath Slater when Lawler missed his top rope right hand and Slater hit Lawler with a reverse neckbreaker. David Hart Smith was eliminated third by Heath Slater when Slater hit his reverse jumping neckbreaker. Goldust was eliminated fourth by David Otunga following a spinebuster. Goldust looked like he tweaked his hip or knee while wrestling with Slater. Mark Henry was eliminated fifth by Skip Sheffield following his stiff clothesline. It is now 7 on 2. Tyson Kidd was out next and was eliminated by Darren Young (which was set up for him by Sheffield). The only one left was Evan Bourne as Wade Barrett walked in. Nexus was too much as Bourne was eliminated last to get the clean sweep as Cole described it when Barrett hit his finisher. After the match, The Nexus took turns beating up Evan Bourne some more. Barrett took the mic and said the cracks are already starting to show with John Cena's team due to all the massive egos. He assured everyone those cracks will destroy the very foundation of that team at Summerslam. Skip Sheffield says no one on Cena's team will sacrifice moreResolved Question: How long do I have to cash a Bank of America Check?
I got a check from Bank of America written in 7-08-2010, up to what date do I have to cash it? In case state matters, I live in Texas! Thank-You so much!!! moreResolved Question: Auto loan of $5700 on a 2004 vehicle, with bad credit?
Ok, I have this car. Mind you I already have the car. I paid $1000 down (including TTL) at a dealer that is "buy here pay here" here in Texas. My wife and I are looking into moving to Oklahoma to be closer to her mother and her family. However, in our contract it states that we cannot take the vehicle out of the state of Texas for more than 30 days without the permission of the lien holder. I am not certain if the car lot will give me permission to take the car out of state. So I am looking into trying to get a loan for the amount I owe on the car which is currently just under $5700.00. I do have bad credit, and so does my wife. But it wouldn't be difficult to pay $1,000 down again to have it financed through a bank. The problem I have had so far is finding a bank that will loan just $5700 on a car. I was going to try applying through my bank, but the minimum amount for financing from them is $7500 and the minimum age on a used car to be financed is 2005 year model. The car I have is a 2004. Its a 2004 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. In very good shape. Only has 81,000 miles on it and runs and drives great, no mechanical problems or anything like that. Anybody know where I could apply for financing to get a $5700 loan to pay the car off so I am not tied to living in Texas until it is paid off? I am currently paying $360 a month on the car. Already have full coverage insurance as well with the mandatory $500 deductibles. Just basically want the loan to pay the dealer off so I am not stuck living in Texas until the car is paid for. Currently as it is the car will be paid off by October of next year. Anybody who can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. moreResolved Question: What do you think Team Obama we will not sue sanctuary cities in violation of federal laws?
Justice: Sanctuary cities are no Arizona No plan to file lawsuits for refusing to cooperate with feds The Obama administration said this week that there is no reason to sue so-called sanctuary cities for refusing to cooperate with federal authorities, whereas Arizona's new immigration law was singled out because it "actively interferes" with enforcement. "There is a big difference between a state or locality saying they are not going to use their resources to enforce a federal law, as so-called sanctuary cities have done, and a state passing its own immigration policy that actively interferes with federal law," Tracy Schmaler, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., told The Washington Times. "That's what Arizona did in this case." But the author of the 1996 federal law that requires states and localities to cooperate says the administration is misreading it, and says drawing a distinction between sanctuary cities and Arizona is "flimsy justification" for suing the state. "For the Justice Department to suggest that they won't take action against those who passively violate the law --who fail to comply with the law -- is absurd," said Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee and chief author of the 1996 immigration law. "Will they ignore individuals who fail to pay taxes? Will they ignore banking laws that require disclosure of transactions over $10,000? Of course not." http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jul/14/justice-sanctuary-cities-are-no-arizona/ moreVoting Question: Can you reverse decision on giving up parental rights?
"Hope" lived in Texas with three biological children. and she is an only child but her and her "Lursa" mutually agreed that Lursa raise one of Hope's sons/Lursa's grandsons "Donald" when he was like 2. and Hope raised the other two, her son and daughter respectively "B.J." and "D.J.". Lursa called C.P.S. on Hope and she happened to fail a drug test and also was in a bad relationship. Lursa said "Don't fight this. You won't win. But don't worry. Let me take care of it and give up your rights as a parent to the other two kids. But again...don't worry. You can always live with me if you need to and whenever you get your own house I will let them live in your house." I. Do not. Know why. she did this. But she trusted her and agreed. I still think that is a dumb decision. Lursa in her own words "tried to get custody of the kids for 2 and a half years but the state of Texas did not agree to it but eventually I got them and I took them and the entire family with me to Oklahoma where they are safe and I know they will be safe." Lursa also said: "And we can never come back there because (hope) have got a felony warrant for arrest and Texas won't like the kids living with you." And Lursa said this too: "These are *my* kids. I know they will be safe here. Because I fought for two and a half..." All of them...yes all of them...moved there with Lursa's then-fiance "Ron" and then they moved again because their house was too old and junky. And then they split into bigger houses because Ron & Lursa got married and Hope's fiance was about to move in with them. Ron, Lursa, and Donald in one house and "Bob", Hope, B.J., and D.J. in another house. I have been in both of their houses. Hope's is clean but Lursa has 10 dogs 2 of them are about to have more dogs. I am not going to protect the dog's identities. Some of their names are Wee Wee, Nut Nut, Little Man, Fuzzy Face... and Duke, and Chloey Maye. One of them is a chinese hairless, another is a miniature tog that weighs less than one pound, and one is a regular sized chihuahua, another is ...I don't know what they are but they are disgusting looking and they leave messes all over the floor and the floor is carpet. Ron is a veteran, and Lursa and her grandchildren each get disability checks. They go to food banks but can't afford to buy groceries, but they have bought a lot of beer other alcohol and cigarettes. B.J. was homeschooled but Lursa lost the text books and "I am not worried about B.J. flunking because now he will be in the same grade as Donald. B.J. is going back next year and now Donald can be in the same classes and help with homework so I won't have to." On July 4th, Lursa and Hope were arguing and Hope got up and began walking to her house and she told Bob "I Want To Go Home Now." And Lursa approached Hope and said "I am not finished with you. Don't you walk away from me." And began fist fighting for several minutes. D.J. tried to break the fight up but she is like 9 and ended up getting hurt and Bob tried to break up the fight but Lursa pushed Hope on the ground and she had a seizure and Lursa said "Good. Now she can die and go to hell." Other friends started showing up and one had a truck and got Hope and D.J. and Ron and Lursa started shouting and threatening "Lacie" and she drove off with Hope and D.J. in it and Ron begins chasing after them on foot and Lursa saying "I will throw both of you in jail for kidnapping." Next thing I know there are numerous police cars and medics and an ambulance and Bob and Lacie writing police reports, Hope having seizures and has a giant black eye and lots of bruises and Lursa was in the back of a police car. Some of us asked the police if Hope has a felony warrant and the police checked and said no. I looked on an on demand site and see the disposed record and there is not any warrants. Hope did not want to press charges (Why Not?!) so Lursa only got a Public Intoxication charge on her and she went to jail, probation, alcohol counseling, thousands in fees, legal counsel denied, etc. She bailed out and Lursa keeps those kids inside all the time and nobody will come outside. The last time I seen B.J. he gave me a note for Hope and she read it and it said "We never get to leave the house. I can't see my friends anymore..." etc. Hope believed she had a warrant and has been hiding...doesn't work, does not even have a photo ID. She moved into her own house before Bob moved in with her and so the electric bill account is in Lursa's name...which she had the account closed and power turned off. Lursa has filed a protective order petition against Bob & Hope. Ron & Lursa keeps mentioning plans to move to Arizona to start a buffalo meat packing plant and get very rich. Anyways... the oldest...B.J. is 12. Most likely...will they have to wait until they are grown and then they will visit and talk with whoever they want to? Some other friends say that B.J. can pick who he wants to live with but that only applies to if Ron & Lursa get divorced, correct? Are they going to have to live with Ron & Lursa even if they are neglecting them? Please share all advice. And I did not once ask you or anybody what I thought of my post. Thumbs down to you.*you. not I. you know what I mean. Can somebody from the USA answer my question, not Canada?! I tried to make it as short as possible but this is a serious issue. moreResolved Question: How do you pay taxes on money that is inherited?
I live in the state of Texas. My mother passed away without a will. After completing the succession paperwork, her checking account was divided between myself and my brother. The sum was under $5000 that we each were awarded. The bank would not allow us to pay her bills before splitting the account. After paying her bills (IRS, Hospital, Credit Card, Funeral etc.) my brother I both received less than $3000. How do you report this on your IRS taxes? Approximately, how much should I set aside for taxes taken out when I fill on my tax return about the money I received? Any guidance on this matter would be great since I know nothing about how to handle it. moreVoting Question: I recently sold my boat, now the new owner is claiming there is damage and he wants me to pay to repair it.?
I recently sold my boat using Craigslist. I sold it to a man from another state. We met him half way. He asked if the boat was in working order and ran well, we told him it was. We only owned the boat for 6 months, but had taken it out on 3 different occasions with no issues, the boat ran great. Now the man is claiming that he took the boat out and its taking in water. He's claiming that the hull was repaired with bondo there are 2 holes. We never saw any damage on this boat, no holes, and no bondo repair anywhere on the boat. We inspected that boat from hull to stern before we bought it. He's stated that his bank (the one that he recieved a loan from) is running a history on the boat to see if there's been insurance fraud. I have no idea what he's talking about. We never even had insurance on the boat. He's wanting us to pay him $1000 for repairs and if we dont he will be "taking the next step". He had the boat for 2 weeks before we heard from him. I'm hoping there's some state law in Oregon that states after a certain amount of time, the sale is final and the sale is "as-is". I've read that in the state of Texas this law exists and its a 72 hour time period, I'm just having a hard time finding that in Oregon. moreResolved Question: Could the BP oil spill lead to a 2nd American civil war?
In a worse case scenario, is it plausible that the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico trigger events that lead to a second American civil war? Worse Case Scenario: 1. Here with me today is Roger Jennings, a salesman from Houston, Texas. Roger, according to a recent survey conducted by Dialogue for Social Awareness, Americans are concerned about poverty around the world, but what about poverty in our own neighborhoods? The U.S. Bureau of the Census found that the poverty rate in America is currently at 12.5%. What are your thoughts about sending food and health care supplies to other countries when there is so much poverty here? Roger: That’s a little bit like asking me who deserves to live in poverty and who doesn't, isn't it? I mean, if we send food and supplies overseas, then we are potentially taking aid from American citizens. But if we distribute the food and supplies to American citizens, then children in third world countries don’t get the aid. It's a no-win argument. Earlier you said the poverty rate in America is 12.5%, but the world poverty rate according to the World Bank is 25%. If we look at these numbers as people--women and children, thousands more are suffering across the world compared to just in America--maybe even millions. Again, I don't believe poverty is ever a "them-or-us" argument. Instead, we need every person in every developed country to help combat this issue, not just Americans. One country can't fight this problem. It's a world problem and a world responsibility. Which sentence most clearly states Roger’s position about the issue? That’s a little bit like asking me who deserves to live in poverty and who doesn't, isn't it? I mean, if we send food and supplies overseas, then we are potentially taking aid from American citizens. Sophie: Let me interrupt you for one second. You just said that every person in every country needs to contribute. What about those in America who are living in poverty? How can they contribute? Roger: I believe that everyone can contribute whatever is within their means. This applies to impoverished people in America, too. A big difference exists between Americans living in poverty compared to South Africans living in poverty. I realize that when people are in the midst of difficult times, telling them, "Well, it could be worse," doesn't help lessen the stress of wondering where their next meal will come from. However, I believe that every person and every nation can contribute something. Even the smallest donation of money, goods or time can have an impact on a big problem. Sophie: Thank you Roger for sharing your perspective on this social issue affecting people around the world. I've talked with a number of other people today as well, and many also believe that American responsibility begins with solving the social issues domestically first. Others didn't even believe world hunger exists, despite scientific evidence. The sheer diversity of perspectives means that these issues are not going to be solved today. My Brother passed this month without a will and there are many questions. He had been unemployed for a lengthy time so he had few assets and substantial debt. He lived in Texas. He is divorced and still owes the ex about 15k in child support that the state administers... the ex gets his irs tax refunds etc... He lived with mom, and his possessions in her house might sell for around $1200.00 He had many debts... my guess is around 10k to co's such as citibank, home depot etc.. He has a car loan that is owed about what the vehicle is worth. He had under $200.00 in his checking/savings account. Mom went to the bank last week where she also has an account and they gave her the money in those accounts. ( they said they could do this because the amount was under a certain limit- I think her name was on the checking account) Questions: #1 Do we have to go to probate court and create an estate? #2 Might the state sue the family to form an estate if only to prove there are no assets for the child support? #3 Might the creditors sue the family to form an estate? It seems to me they would look at his credit report and see the large debt and be mindful that funeral expenses - that mom paid for - come off the top, and determine that it's probably not worth the effort, but that's just a guess. #4 As for medical bills...Should we expect to be sued to form an estate for this? he was in the hospital for several days before passing, and with all the testing and ICU care, the bill is probably well north of 30k- I don't know what the "payment due from patient" is yet. . It occurs to me that they might not have access to his credit report and will want to see if there are assets. #5 Does selling, or giving away his possessions, or contacting the note holder of his vehicle to come get the car, or receiving the money from his accounts at the bank, or sending death certificates to creditors - which she has done- make the mother an executor by default with further obligations? Thanks in advance for your answer. Also, please do not answer unless you have experience with these issues. moreVoting Question: register a car with a lien on it?

I work for a privately help company, in Texas, so I'd appreciate any answers from legal eagles here in the state. they have an unwritten policy that if you have a doctor's appointment, or simply need to leave work for some reason, they will take that time away from your accrued or unearned vacation in order to make sure you have your 8 hours that day. This is something that, even though I've worked here for over 3 years, I was unaware of. I feel that as I am diabetic, I'm being punished as I have to occasionally leave work during the day for doctor appointments, and would rather take the hit to my paycheck than have my vacation bank drained. I have tried to discretely make it known to Payroll that I would rather this not be applied to me, but to no avail. I am curious to know if this practice is legal, even for a privately help company. If not, what would my options be? By the way, I'm paid hourly not salary, if that helps. Thanks HRMom, that's just what I needed actually. I know it's not a fair policy, as I'd rather use it when I want, but since it IS applied across the board I suppose I'll just have to live with it. moreVoting Question: My wife left me. What do I do?

After an extensive investigation, U.S. Attorney José Angel Moreno announced the indictment of fifty-eight alleged members of a Mexican drug distributing organization today. The group transported drugs from border crossings to hubs within Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Illinois and North Carolina. They then distributed drugs to a multitude of points throughout the U.S. Contraband also included cash, which they laundered through the acquisition of purchased real estate property mainly in Hidalgo County, Texas. A multi-agency initiative, “Project Deliverance,” targeted the transportation infrastructure for Mexican drug trafficking along the Southwest border. The project comprised the “Southern District of Texas Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces,” and was a long-term effort, which ended in significant success. U.S. Attorney Moreno said of the indictments, “Every day, federal, state and local law enforcement officers, at our borders and beyond, do battle against the illegal drug trade.” Moreno continued, “Project Deliverance is the latest engagement in our ongoing struggle to confront and defeat the Mexican cartels. These arrests, seizures and prospective forfeitures further our goal to dismantle and disrupt their operations and hold them accountable.” During the investigation and subsequent raids, authorities seized nearly 600 kilograms of cocaine and 31,000 pounds of marijuana. Enforcement agents also confiscated close to $5 million in alleged drug money and 70 real estate lots in Hidalgo County. During police enforcement actions yesterday, officials further seized an additional $1 million, four vehicles and five bank accounts. The dirty dealings of this group does not expose the countless killings, human trafficking and torture associated with such a border crime business. Here we go again, possibly a small army of people will be incarcerated in our prison system—which, by the way, we taxpayers have to pay for. Even worse, Border States pay dearly in not only loss of money, but loss of lives, liberty and peace of mind. Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday announced that the FBI is investigating whether excessive force was used by Border Patrol after an agent fatally shot a 15-year-old Mexican boy on the banks of the Rio Grande. The attorney general expressed "sincere regrets about the loss of life" and said the relationship between the United States and Mexico remains "strong." The attorney general confirmed the investigation following an outcry in Mexico over the shooting. Details of incident are fluid, but the Border Patrol claimed that its agents were at the time being "assaulted with rocks" while trying to round up illegal immigrants on the Texas side. Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka was shot and killed, his body recovered on the Mexican side. Sources told Fox News the victim was a known juvenile smuggler. The incident, though, came after another immigrant was killed two weeks ago when a border officer shocked him with a stun gun. Holder suggested Thursday that the probe would be wide-ranging. "(The shooting) was extremely regrettable," he said, speaking at a press conference about a series of drug raids. "The matter is under investigation and we'll have to determine exactly what happened, who if anyone should be held responsible, what the circumstances were for this shooting. And all that is just a part of this ongoing investigation." According to sources, Huereka was charged with alien smuggling in 2009. It would be a violation of the rules for a Border Patrol agent to cross into Mexico without permission, but a U.S. official told the Associated Press that video shows the agent in question stayed on the U.S. side. Mexican officials and media slammed the U.S. following the shooting on Monday. The clash comes after Mexican President Felipe Calderon visited Washington to criticize Arizona for passing a strict new immigration law intended to root out illegal immigrants for deportation. That law is under review by the Justice Department. Holder said Thursday that a "decision will be made relatively soon" on whether the department will take any action. "There is a bond that exists between Mexico and the United States. We have shared interests," he said. "I think that is what we focus on." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/10/holder-announces-fbi-probe-border-patrol-shooting-mexican-boy/ moreResolved Question: FBI: Mexican soldiers used rifles to chase off U.S. Border Patrol , What say you?
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) — Pointing their rifles, Mexican security forces chased away U.S. authorities investigating the shooting of a 15-year-old Mexican by a U.S. Border Patrol agent on the banks of the Rio Grande, the FBI and witnesses told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The killing of the Mexican by U.S. authorities — the second in less than two weeks — has exposed the distrust between the two countries that lies just below the surface, and has enraged Mexicans who see the death of the boy on Mexican soil as an act of murder. Shortly after the boy was shot, Mexican soldiers arrived at the scene and pointed their guns at the Border Patrol agents across the riverbank while bystanders screamed insults and hurled rocks and firecrackers, FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons said. She said the agents were forced to withdraw. "It pretty quickly got very intense over on the Mexican side," she said, adding that FBI agents showed up later and resumed the investigation, even as Mexican authorities pointed guns at them from across the river. A relative of the dead boy who had been playing with him told the AP that the Mexicans — who he described as federal police, not soldiers — pointed their guns only when the Americans waded into the mud in an apparent attempt to cross into Mexico. The Mexican authorities accused the Americans of trying to recover evidence from Mexican soil and threatened to kill them if they crossed the border, prompting both sides to draw their guns, said the 16-year-old boy who asked not to be further identified for fear of reprisal. The confrontation occurred Monday night over the body of Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka, who died of his wounds beside the column of a railroad bridge connecting Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas. Each government has made veiled accusations suggesting misconduct on the part of the other's law enforcement agents. Hernandez was found 20 feet (six meters) into Mexico, and an autopsy revealed that the fatal shot was fired at a relatively close range, according to Arturo Sandoval, a spokesman for the Chihuahua state attorney general's office. Mexican authorities said a .40 caliber shell casing was found near the body, suggesting that the Border Patrol agent might have crossed into Mexico to shoot the boy. That would violate the rules for Border Patrol agents, who are supposed to stay on the U.S. side — and could open the agent to a Mexican homicide prosecution. A U.S. official close to the investigation told the AP that authorities have a video showing that the Border Patrol agent did not cross into Mexico. In fact, the official said, the video shows what appear to be members of Mexican law enforcement crossing onto the U.S. side, picking something up and returning to Mexico. The official was not cleared to speak about the video and spoke only on condition of anonymity. Alejandro Pariente, Chihuahua state's regional deputy attorney general, said the U.S. Border Patrol has given him video which he is reviewing. He declined to describe it except to say that it has sped up the investigation. The two killings have provoked anger in Mexico like no other recent controversy surrounding immigration, including Arizona's new law making it a state crime to be an illegal immigrant and President Obama's decision to send the National Guard to the border. Although many Mexicans were unhappy with both initiatives, popular and official reaction had been subdued, in contrast to street protests seen in previous years when the U.S. has cracked down on the border. Many Mexicans have since given up hope for a quick solution to the immigration problem, while other issues including growing drug violence have taken center stage in relations between the two countries. That has started to change with the back-to-back deaths of two Mexicans at the border: the teenager killed Monday, and migrant Anastasio Hernandez, 42, who died after a Customs and Border Protection officer shocked him with a stun gun at the San Ysidro border crossing that separates San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. Anastasio Hernandez, who had lived in the U.S. since he was 14, was buried in San Diego on Wednesday. Mexican news media were filled with images of the 15-year-old's bloody body and his grieving relatives. One tabloid ran a large photograph on its cover, with the banner headline "Grindaderas," salty slang that roughly translates as "things Americans do." Mexican President Felipe Calderon pledged to "use all resources available to protect the rights of Mexican migrants," and his foreign secretary, Patricia Espinosa, said Mexico wasn't taking the Americans' word that the Border Patrol agent had been defending himself from rock-throwers when he opened fire. Chihuahua state Gov. Jose Reyes Baeza blamed the two killings on racism fueled by Arizona's law. "We believe that this killing, moreResolved Question: Graduated, no job! military?

I've been the victim of a common rip off. I handed a handyman $1,000.00 as a 50% deposit for some home repairs and to order a skylight, but the guy walked off the job after barely starting. It would be a stretch to claim that he did even $100.00 worth of work, certainly no more than 5% of the total project. I don't need a lecture on what I did wrong - I now know just about all I need to know to prevent being scammed ever again, and I'm going to keep reading and learning. He was recommended by a close friend, so we were both taken by surprise to find out later that this handyman does this to people all of the time. He does a good job for one person then uses that person as a good reference to rip off a dozen others. I live in Texas and the police department won't allow me to file a criminal report, claiming that this is just a civil matter, in spite of all the other victims with identical complaints. He's been using the same tactics since he moved here from New Jersey in 2005. He's already been sued at least once and hasn't paid one dollar on the judgment. I plan to sue as well only because I found out he has a bank out of state that I think can be levied. Still, I would really like to put an end to his scam. I've seen cases where people have been barred from doing business in the state but those cases where filed by the Attorney General. Several of the victims have reported him to the AG's office, but in the mean time can a private party to a lawsuit win such a broad injunction, or is that limited only to when the government brings a suit? I know that people can get an injuction against stalkers or noisy neighbors, but I don't know if it's possible to get a broader injunction that protects the community, not just the individual. If the answer is no, what is the chance of bringing a suit on behalf of the public, like an ex-rel or qui tam action? Finally, I have some resources to guide me in a deceptive trade practices suit, which allows for an award of triple damages, and possibly even more for punitive damages since I think I can show malice. Such a suit goes beyond small claims court, but I'd still rather go Pro Se, even in district court with all of the rules of civil procedure and other protocal. The handyman represented himself in his last lawsuit so I don't think I would be at an unfair dissadvantage. What I'd like to know is, has anyone had a positive outcome seeking any type of injuction as a pro se litigant? Or would such a broad injuction be too complicated for a layperson learning on-the-go? Please site any cases that you think I should research. You can find his name on ripoffreports.com and complaintboards.com, but I'd rather not be too specific to avoid libel/slander counterclaims. He used to own a corporation but now he just changes his business name every six months to keep his notorious reputation from following him. He isn't even registered to operate in the county. He changes his phone number, email, address, and even vehicles every six months. You can only know him by his full name. He already lost a suit for about $20k. A doctor sued him in district court but the doctor also paid $$$ in attorney fees and nothing has been collected. I agree Pro Se is not ideal, but in Texas it is very hard and expensive to collect from people that are good at hiding their assets. His cars aren't even registered in his name. I have one long-shot chance at levying his out-of-state bank, but even then I doubt he keeps more than a few hundred in his account. This bank has branches in the Caribbean, so most money is probably offshore. moreVoting Question: Bank questions please help fast! I'm not good with bank things and I'm totally new at it!?

I was a victim of a hit and run in the great state of Texas. I was going straight on green and the other party ran a left turn red light. I hit him on the side and he ran off. Thanks to some homeless people around, I was able to get his plate information. This happened to my brand new car that I drove off the lot for only 2 days. The car suffered $13,000 worth of damages. My insurance company deemed it as a total loss and paid the bank in full. It's been a month now and I just received a call from the officer working on my case that he was able to get a match on the plate. He asked me if I wanted to press charges and if I did, I'd have to stop by to give a statement. What else happens after this? I know I can't let him off because he could have killed me or someone else at the scene, but is it worth it to press charges? My statement and case will be sent to the district attorney. I've been recently looking into conspiracy's etc. And I found it intresting that every president who has ever stood against the Rothschild dominated First Bank Of America, Second Bank Of America and Federal Reserve have all been Assassinated. Before you say anything about the Rothschilds though im not intrested - Alexander Hamilton is well known to have been an agent of the Rothschild family in George Washingtons cabinet. The Real question is: On the 27th of April John F. Kennedy states a long Speech, the most important part of this speech being, "For we are opposed, around the world, by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy, that relies primarily on covet means for expanding it's fear of influence, On infiltration insted of invasion, On subversion insted of elections, On intimidation, insted of free choice, On guerrillas by night, insted of armies by day, It is a system which has conscripted, vast material and human resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preperations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters silence, not praised. No expenditure is questioned. No rumour is printed. No secret is revealed." Our company is having employees take a day a week unpaid vacation (furlough), while "allowing" us to pay ourselves for it by PTO, even if the balance goes negative. In the announcement it stated this is a first line of cost cuts, hopefully to minimize layoffs but that is an eventual outcome. Problem is they are making it our "choice" to deplete PTO so that we will not suddenly be unpaid for the time off. But is that even a choice? Most of us cannot afford to just take a hit and get a reduced paycheck. My question is, if we get laid off before the opportunity to earn back the PTO accrual, will we have to cough up money (after-tax dollars from the bank) to pay back the company? If the amount "owed" is more than 2 weeks worth, they may completely "withhold" and not pay your last check. On the flipside, if we go cold turkey and take the unpaid vacation (and keep PTO balance we earned as saving for rainy day), the "day a week" temporary unemployment is so cleverly spread out that we cannot really file for unemployment. The combined furlough amounts to 19 work days, just a day short of 1 month or 20 work days. We are located in Texas. Are they purposefully staying just below some threshold for us to qualify for unemployment? What should I do, deplete PTO or file unemployment? I am not working anymore because I was diagnosed with a disease and can't work now, I was sued and lost with my Student Loans and the Student Loan Corps is trying to freeze my bank account and garnish my husband's wages. I heard that they can't do that in the State of Texas, but can they?? He doesn't owe the loan and he his money is all that we have. We are living pay check to pay check. So, can they freeze my account and garnish his wages when he had nothing to do with my student loans? moreResolved Question: I have witnessed Immigration Law on a personal level. What do you think?
So I know everyone is probably sick and tired of hearing about Arizona's Immigration Policy. But In Irving, Tx where I grew up was the first city in the United States to set up a Deportation Policy called 24/7 Criminal Alien Program in 2006. It is the only city to legally deport undocumented Irving residents that committed any crime to leave the country. Let me tell you I have witnessed this in my city. Policy actually targeted high school students by staking outside of the schools or local malls. So undocumented families stopped sending their kids to school. Therefore, for some wierd reason, crime actually increased, because kids were idle and found different places to be avoiding mall and schools, but hanging out in parks, and bars. Those crime rates soared while police still focused on schools and malls. It sort of backfired. I'm a legal resident (green card holder immigrant) from South Asia, matter in fact, I will take my Citizenship oath this November, and I do not support illegal immigrants living in United States no matter whatever their life story is. My parents were poor, and pinched every cent they had to pay of legal fees for 10 yrs to earn a right to live in this country, I pay my taxes, I pay my car insurance, I try to be responble model non-citizen. BUT when the Irving deportation policy was suppose to solve immigration problems for north texas, it created profiling. How is Arizona Law different? While Arizona may have the right idea to get rid of illegal residents, it just makes me really uneasy. For example, if I go to arizona, do I have to walk around with my papers even though Im a legal green card holder? Will the cops arrest me if I show them xerox copies of them? because those are very valueable documents and I hate to lose them as someone can steal my identity, I dont even keep these papers at home in case of a break-in I keep my papers at the bank vault. Will they arrest a legal resident for having zerox copies? I have never been targeted in Irving, but if Police see a guy with tattoes, shaved head, and pants on the ground, they go after hoodlems as illegal aliens, to me thats profiling. moreResolved Question: How do you know if you owe money to a company? This makes no sense to me. The Federal Govt. has laws on the books that make it a crime to be in the country illegally. The Federal Govt. obviously doesn't even try to enforce these laws. (hence the reason Arizona etc. are finally getting fed up) At the same time, the IRS allows illegal immigrants (via ITIN #s) to let federal income taxes be taken out of their paychecks. (Wouldn't that imply the person hiring them is also breaking the law??) These same ITIN #s can get you bank accounts and even a mortgage through ACORN. THE BEST PART: In order to get an ITIN as an illegal alien you have to MAKE UP A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?? (or steal someone else's) Isn't the IRS basically aiding and abetting what are technically "criminals" (according to laws on the books)?? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18077009/ Tuesday is Tax Day, when millions of illegal immigrants find themselves collaborating with one federal agency — the Internal Revenue Service — while trying to avoid another — Immigration and Customs Enforcement....................They hope a track record of on-time payments will aid their citizenship applications, but critics who favor tougher enforcement of federal immigration rules say it’s absurd for the government to work with people it should be tracking down and deporting. It legitimizes the presence of immigrants who are here illegally, critics say, and sends a mixed message about the country’s interest in enforcing its own rules............................In 2004, the IRS got 7.9 million W-2s with names that didn’t match a Social Security Number. More than half were from California, Texas, Florida and Illinois, states with large immigrant populations, leading experts to believe they likely represent the wages of illegal immigrants. Even immigrants who use ITINs to file taxes are forced to make up a Social Security Number when they get a job.......................Many banks now allow illegal immigrants to open an account with their ITIN, and Bank of America has a pilot program in Los Angeles that allows customers to use the numbers to sign up for a credit card. Others have created mortgage products for ITIN-bearing immigrants, including Citibank, which offers one in partnership with ACORN Housing Corp. “They want to go forward, work, be a normal taxpayer,” said Erica Gonzalez, a staffer in ACORN’s Fresno office, where demand for the tax ID has shot up in recent years. “If they want to establish themselves here, this lets them do that.”franc............"You have a problem with them paying taxes?" My ex and I lived together for 13 years as husband and wife, introduced ourselves as married and lived as though we were married, never had any children though She's cheated on me numerous times and is now living with someone else. I just want to move on, get it over with and start a new life with a woman that will be faithful. My question is this since we never signed a contract or covenant of any kind with the STATE OF TEXAS. Is divorce even necessary? We had a joint bank account together but I'm not sure that qualifies. I do have some experience in drawing up legal documents, should I make something that says we both agree to dissolve our covenant and have it notarized and filed in the public record? Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: I'm wondering if it looks like my friend has strong enough ties to get a V-2 Tourist visa to the united states?

How can I be taken to court and sued for what I don't have?? moreResolved Question: Will I be marketable/well-rounded for a great job/career?
I'm currently a Freshman at the University of Texas at Austin and wonder if my current goals will get me somewhere "great"... I plan to major in Government (with a focus on international government) but was considering the International Relations program also. I'm not sure which to pick since while the IR program is new to UT it seems more appealing to me, yet the Govt program is far more established and garners a recognized reputation. Aside of that, I want to pursue a dual degree in Communication Studies -- Corporate Communication. I love to communicate and think it would be smart to specialize in something that I'm good at. I also plan on completing the Business Foundations Program, which offers a solid foundation in Business. By this, I would take about 7-10 classes in business! This is offered by the world-renowned McCombs School of Business... And if I have enough time, I may also minor in French, considering I'm taking 4 semesters of French. Also, I currently work part-time for the ACLU of Texas in their Legal Department. I've been with them for almost a full academic year and will also work with them all of next year. I'm happy that I was able to land a job with them my first year in college since it's helped me acquire lots of hands-on office/administrative experience...I've also become more knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the legal world (I work for the ACLU Legal Director and a bunch other lawyers). Now for my goals. I have a passion for international cultures, business, and power. I love traveling because I get to discover new cultures and languages. Recall I enjoy communicating with others. While my goals in life are not accurately defined, I do know that I want to someday become a U.S. Ambassador and maybe Secretary of State. Possibly lead the World Bank or the IMF... I also want to work for major corporations that will have me traveling around the world. Because I'm a fast-paced person, I believe this would suit me well. I even want to start my own company someday or reside on the board of some Fortune 500 or even be the CEO of one... I guess that I have a whole bag of dreams and ambitions. I'm currently working to maybe land a Junior- or Senior-year internship with Goldman Sachs in their Services division, which deals more with government and planning affairs. After my undergraduate years at UT, I hope to land a job with the Foreign Service or some international corporation. After 2-3 years of work experience, I want to go back to school, this time to get an MBA. My dream is Harvard Business, but Wharton would also suffice... ^_^ I also would want to simultaneously acquire another degree, an M.A. in Public Administration... After that, I would like to maybe work for a few more years and ultimately go back to school to get an M.A. in International Relations either from Georgetown or Johns Hopkins. I'm a big dreamer. An entrepreneurial dream... It's all that I have. But I want to know if what I'm doing and also what I want to do will help get me anywhere...will it? I need sincere opinions that will support or suggest better ideas. More than anything I need support. Thank you for reading and helping me out. moreVoting Question: If I plead guilty to a Class C Misdemeanor in Texas 19 years ago, is it possible to clear my record?
I was 18 years old. I never set foot in a courtroom. My parents came in, paid the fine, and took me home. If I plead guilty, I don't remember, but that's what my record shows. It is my understanding that unless I got deferred adjudication, I do not qualify to get my record expunged or sealed. I also read that Class C Misdemeanors do not qualify for a pardon by the State of Texas Board of Paroles and Pardons. Is there another option? I have an MBA in Finance, but most banks will not even look at me because I have a criminal record on my application. moreResolved Question: Is it a good idea to move out at 16 given these circumstances?
Sorry for the copy and paste, but I really need help with this: Ok. So here is my situation. I'm a 15 year old male, and I'll be turning 16 in June. My parents moved here to Tomball (a small rural area in Houston), Texas a year ago in June 2009. Now my dad, just because he wants to, wants to go back to Miami, Fl, back to the house we own over there. He wants to leave Texas early June this year, once I finish school. My mom, my sister nor I want to move back. It’s just him, but according to the "pastor" of our church over there, he says we should move back and it was a mistake coming here. We are rented here and the rent is $1200 a month. Our house over there is rented for $2,000 a month, yet the mortgage is only about $1,300, which leaves plenty of money left over for paying property taxes and other expenses. So anyway, he says that we don't have enough money to continue living here, but it’s mostly because he has turned into a lazy bum watching TV and doing absolutely nothing except watch TV and eat all day. All of this with the excuse of “we can’t make money because we plan to do a bankruptcy and if we make money, the bank will deny it”. We own a cleaning company, which provides services such as Carpet cleaning, upholstery and tile and grout cleaning, and about another million things we do. Hell, we have enough work to be making $300,000 a year (not exaggerating) My mom is fed up with him because he doesn’t let her go out and work either. So I was planning to move out once we got to Florida and I had earned money over the summer before school started again and drive directly back to Texas. I have talked it over with my aunt who lives not even a quarter mile away from our house here in Texas, and she and my uncle decided that I can move in with them and my cousin, since they have 3 spare rooms. Anyway, I have about $4,000 saved up from a pressure washing part time and count on another $2-3,000 from pressure washing during the summer. Here’s the thing, I don’t want to move from Texas to Florida. I have friends, my girlfriend (I’d be devastated, we’ve been going out for a year).and all of my professors absolutely love me (not kidding). I have a car secured which I bought on a bank repo auction for $2,000 (2003 Audi). I still have to pay that off. I’ll get my driver’s license once I turn 16. I’ve also talked it over with my mom and she’s not too happy about the idea but understands my motives and is willing to let me leave. I know my dad would have a FIT if I moved out at 16, but here what I say: tough. There's nothing he can do to stop me....I think. It's my car, and my gas money which I worked and payed for myself, so he can't prevent me from leaving, am I right? The only actual expenses outside the regulars you’d expect such as a cell phone bill, groceries and gas money (keeping in mind that I won’t be paying for housing), is my gym membership which runs me about $90/month (I have a personal trainer), and my basketball coach (about $100/month) Once I have about $5,000 secured at least I plan to leave Florida and move back to Texas just in time for when the school year begins. One question I have is that my dad un-enrolled me from this school (he went stated that I won’t be going to it anymore, and they gave him all sorts of paperwork) and enrolled me in the school over in Florida so we don’t have to deal with any of that when we get there. If I were to continue going to this school I’d have to re-enroll, and show proof of residence and everything. Now, I don’t want to get an emancipation or anything, I’d just be living with relatives other than my parents and sister. It’s not like I’m being abused or endangered. My parents love me, and I understand that. I plan to visit them every once in a while, and I plan to move back once I graduate from high school (I’m a sophomore now), since I intend to go to the University of Miami, which my current girlfriend also plans to attend. I (think I) have the money to support myself for a good while, considering the fact that I have no housing costs. I also own my own pressure washing equipment, so I can work. I believe that I am mature and independent enough to go through with this decision. One of the questions I have is: Since I don’t have an emancipation or anything, and my legal parents are living in Florida, would I have any trouble enrolling back into my school with my Uncle or Aunt if they don’t have my custody, and I am only living with them, though no legal documents say so? Also, do you think it’s a good idea that I move? If not, why? Ok, so one answerer began talking crap about me "throwing my life away" and my "bragging" at how much money I have and my car.....The only reason I mention the amount of money I have is so that people don't begin yelling at me that I don't have any means to support myself. Working part time I can make $3,000 a month, because I have done it before. I am a straigh moreResolved Question: How do you enforce payment of a settlement when the party refuses to pay.?
