Texas and Tea Parties and Bellwethers - RedState

I don’t like all the Trans-Texas Corridor crap, but I’m more disgusted with Kay Bail-out and Debra Medina, if she’s not a Truther at least appears willing to cater to them. No thanks. But if it comes down to it, I’d still vote for Kay Bail ...

Trans Texas Corridor Questions asked

Resolved Question: What do people think of Debra Medina who is running for governor in Texas against Trans TX corridor Perry $?

Hutchinson? http://www.texastribune.org/stories/2010/jan/27/last-picture-show/ This article speaks of how well she did in the first debate, that her polls jumped enough to be included in the second, etc. I the way she sounds from this last part: " While Hutchison and Perry have been debating opponents for years and have been gorging on policy and state arcana and going through mock debates to try to get ready, Medina's cramming but not practicing. "I just don't like role-playing and I don't want to have anything to do with it," she says. "But if Perry starts saying something incorrect about jobs, I want to throw the bullshit card. I have to have facts and data to be able to do that." What do you think?Sorry, that should say she is running against Perry AND Hutchinson.Oh, she is absolutely against the corridor. It is one of the issues she has been activist on.Desmirda, she is really authentic. I wonder why on earth you would say the tea party candidate sounds like a Democrat? She is the only REAL conservative in the race.Laura, there are many versions of tea party. She is very fiscally conservative, and for local rule on issues per the Constitution. You might want to check her other issues on her web page. more

Resolved Question: Question for Texans ?

Will you vote for Debra Medina in the 2010 elections ? Debra Medina, stances are private property rights, gun ownership, individual responsibility and adherence to the Constitution. She has actively opposed big government, taxes, bailouts, mandatory vaccinations, the Trans-Texas Corridor and abortion. She first has to win the primary against Governor Goodhair and Senator Kay Barely Hutchison. But would you vote for her over Rick Perry?Debra Medina is the former Wharton County Republican Party chair and former Texas state coordinator for the Campaign for Liberty. She is also the founder and CEO of Prudentia Inc., a medical consulting firm. Medina has been scheduled for many gubernatorial debates with Texas governor Rick Perry, but to date Perry has canceled his appearance for each.http://www.medinafortexas.org/ more

Resolved Question: Do You Trust Gov Rick Perry Of Texas?

What do you think is the agenda or motives of the 2008 Bilderberg featured speaker? He supported the North American Alliance and the trans Texas corridor. Now he is positioning himself as a right wing conservative fighting federal tyanny over the states and threatening to secede from the union. Do you believe there is a plan by the world's elite to break up the United states and do you think Perry's role was planned at the 2008 Bilderberg meeting? more

Resolved Question: Did you know of Texas' victory over the Globalists, the Trans Texas Corridor has been defeated, in Dallas News?

The Texas Wing of the NAFTA superhighway has been defeated. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/010609dnmetttc.43c00ac6.html The plan would have taken almost a million acres of the best Texas farmland from private landowners, some of whose land has been in the same family since before Texas was Texas. Through eminent domain it would also have displaced 100,000 people. The kicker is Perry planned on letting a Spanish firm build it with our Tax dollars, and lease it to Spain for the next 50 years...... more

Resolved Question: What is the "Trans Texas Corridor....?

and how does it apply to the "North American Union"? more

Resolved Question: What is the North American Union?

I have been hearing a lot about this (Similar to the European/African/Asian and South American Unions) . I am also aware that the Trans Texas Corridor has something to do with it. Some of my grandparents land is being seized by the gov to make the freeway. Apparently you don't really own your property in the United States anymore. My biggest concern is the abolishment of the Constitution...the Bill of Rights. Would we be under UN regulation (like the EU), or would the union mean the 3 countries would be under US Constitutional law? And why haven't Obama and/or McCain brought the issue up? I am concerned they may have knowledge of this union, and do not want to inform the American voters before the election. I also heard that is why the market is crashing, that they want to implement a new currency called the Amero..it will have just as much value as the Euro. Is that why the white house refuses to talk abuot the crashing dollar?  more

Resolved Question: Are Environmental issues exclusively for the purpose of crippling America?

Environmentalism is the direct cause of our dependence on foreign oil and $4 / gas. Environmental groups sue oil exploration companies at every drill site and cause a two year process to take ten years. Further, Americans are constantly losing the individual rights to use their own property as they see fit due to a U.N. Treaty called Agenda 21 (look it up). Even the border fence, mandated by Congress, vital to our security, was held up because environmentalists sued over a miniscule amount of habitat for some breed of cat. Global Elitists are behind all of these efforts. Global Elitists are pushing for a “Trans America Corridor”. This is a planned multi-lane international freeway from the Mexican border in Texas, to our border with Canada in the north. The highway is planned to be at least 1,300 feet wide, and will be approximately 1,500 miles long. Mmmm, let’s do the math. That works out to be somewhere near ONE QUARTER MILLION SQUARE ACRES. Global Elitists (all of the Democrats and the “Bush” wing of the Republican Party) get what they want. If they want to stifle our energy production, bring on the screaming Environmentalists. If they want to destroy American sovereignty with open borders and an International Highway, Environmentalists say NOTHING about a 250,000 square acres slab of concrete. Why is this not the biggest Environmental issue in history? Connect the dots. http://www.mmlv.us/nacorridors.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1544550/Texans-fear-US-sovereignty-will-disappear-down-superhighway.html http://www.edhtelegraph.com/detail/84695.html http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=15763 http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2007/08/11/michael-crichton-praises-new-skeptical-environmentalists-guide-global Winterules: Yes, you are making my point. Resolved Question: NAFTA and the New World Order....?

Although there have been denials of such a highway, the North American Super Corridor Coalition (NASCO) exists to promote just such a system of highways. One piece of it is in progress in Kansas City, Missouri. The Kansas City SmartPort is an “inland port” that is proposed to handle Mexican customs and inspections. It is to be the link between seaports in Mexico and major truck, air and rail lines in the United States, all the way to Manitoba, Canada. (Another piece of the NASCO super corridor, is the Trans-Texas Corridor-the TTC) Here’s the troubling part. After cargo arrives at Mexican seaports (mostly from Asia), it is to be shipped to Kansas City, and from there to the rest of the US and Canada. The cargo will be approved and screened for security in a Mexican port. Trucks and rail are to be inspected for safety in Mexico. According to press reports, there will be a US “border inspection" when the cargo reaches the Mexican border. However as we now know, a very small percentage of cargo is inspected by Homeland Security. They will rely primarily on the port personnel in Mexico. The vast majority of cargo will pass through the border unimpeded and will not be inspected. We will be relying on other countries to keep us safe from terrorism, nuclear waste and semi-trucks full of illegal immigrants, guns, drugs or other illegal cargo. Say goodbye to The American Dream, and hello to 3rd world cesspool?  more

Resolved Question: Is the trans texas corridor good for texas?

I feel like since this road has been built there has been no money for highway projects inside the metroplexes (where its needed most). I have noticed nothing but toll roads go up in the DFW area. In some cases we have seen public roads turn in to toll roads also (highway 121). I do not understand the need for a 16 lane superhighway running through huntsville. huntsville could seriously benefit from 4 lanes while cities like dallas, austin, and houston could use the 16 lane highways. Do we want this state to turn into new york where it costs $6.00 to drive to and from work every morning? I drove from prosper, tx to downtown dallas the other day and it costs 6.00 round trip just in tolls. We need our representatives to be more responsible about our roads. You can tax us for gas, registration, and ticket us all up and down the highways and then build more taxation points on the roads while you recieve kickbacks, and a public charge card to bill your tolls to. more

Resolved Question: How does The texas Driver Responsibility Program not violate laws?

there seems to be so many things wrong with this program. I could see 2 possible ways this law may violate laws. Cruel and unusual punishment? or possibly double jeporady (triple or quadruple for that matter) as an example someone who is caught driving without insurance is subject to a $250 fine. then that person must pay $260/year for 3 years following the offense. I assume they call it a surchage because you cannot legally "fine" someone 3 times for 1 offense. how is this possible. The worst part about this is that the money collected for these surcharges doesnt even help pay for roads in the local areas. So keep expecting toll roads where you live, b/c this money is already earmarked for the trans texas corridor. This must change, this is theft on a political level using laws against the people. How do we find out the idiot that proposed the bill originally )im sure someone like Tom Delay), and how do we get it removed from the books.is there not laws in place already to allow you to sue someone for hitting you without insurance there is already laws on the books to protect other civilians from that. the other party never see's any part of the extra money ...only the government. more

Resolved Question: Whoo Hoo! Did you read this about the Trans Texas Corridor (NAFTA Superhighway?)?

Damn, I wish this man were our President: http://www.hawaiireporter.com/story.aspx?f7a599d2-4eb2-4926-ae32-e6135e48ac81 "By Congressman Ron Paul, R-Texas, 6/23/2008 6:35:11 AM I am pleased to report that last week we received notice that the Texas Department of Transportation will recommend the I-69 Project be developed using existing highway facilities instead of the proposed massive new Trans Texas Corridor/NAFTA Superhighway. According to the Texas Transportation Commissioner, consideration is no longer being given to new corridors and other proposals for a new highway footprint for this project. A major looming threat to property rights and national sovereignty is removed with this encouraging announcement. Public outcry was cited as the main reason for this decision. I was very impressed to learn that the TxDOT received nearly 28,000 public comments on this matter, and that some 12,000 Texans attended the 47 public hearings held earlier this year. They could not ignore this tsunami of strong public opinion against the proposed plans. I was especially proud of how informed my constituents became on the subject, and how eloquently and respectfully they spoke and conducted themselves, considering how upsetting the plans were for our communities in Texas . This is a major victory for the people of Texas , and a reminder of what we can accomplish with civic involvement. The informed and active citizen truly is a force to be reckoned with, as we have seen with the defeat of this proposal. We must keep fighting the good fight, and remain ever diligent against the encroachments of big government. We must do this if we wish to maintain our traditional standard of living in this country. As tempting as it may be to simply live our lives with no regard to government, apathy will inevitably be punished by ever more government intrusion. That is what this fight was all about. We can win if we stick together. However, now is not the time to rest on our laurels. So, if now is not the time to rest on our laurels, can you think of anything else we should be fighting? And if you are willing to work at it, have you joined this yet? http://www.campaignforliberty.com/Sincerely Someone - oh, I am absolutely certain they are at most regrouping. Thanks, Lucky. Resolved Question: Can the Trans Texas corridor be stopped by Obama/McCain?

Who is going to stop the Nafta Super highway? Is Obama/McCain going to stop it or will they be the ones to put down the US citizens and steal our soverinty? Can the US citizains stop the NAU from happening? This is the real deal. America is under attack. I am in Texas and what they say is true about the Trans Texas corridor. It is going as planned down here. Most Texans know about it and want it stopped. The only way to stop it is to Band the people of the US together agianst the few who will profit from it. Was the Iraq war just a rouse to get the people of the US distracted enough that the powers that be could slide it by the US citizens? It has taken a while but the US people have started to catch on. But is it to late? Think this is conspirecy thoery? Look up Trans Texas Corridor, Amero, or NAU on Google, Youtube or Yahoo and see for yourself. Then tell me what you think. Then pass it on to everyone you know. more

Resolved Question: Why is there a foreign company in the US leasing our toll roads?

Evidently, Cintra, a Spanish company, has a 99 year lease of the Chicago Skyway. Would you like to see it on webcam, courtesy of Cintra? http://www.cintra.es/index.asp?MP=2&MS=19&MN=3&TR=C&IDR=93 Cintra will also be building the Trans Texas Corridor and operating tolls on it as well. http://www.corridorwatch.org/ttc/index.htm Cintra also has a lease on an Indiana toll road. http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/23/2364.asp So we are no longer sending jobs overseas. We are just bringing the companies (and illegals) right through the front door. Are we still living in America?I agree about Adam. Resolved Question: Which candidate...?

Which candidate... Will abolish the IRS and the federal income tax, thereby giving a tax cut to the poor and middle class instead of the rich? Will get rid of the Federal Reserve and return to sound monetary policy? Will end the war in Iraq NOW and bring the troops home? Will get rid of the Orwellian laws like the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act? Put an end to the Trans Texas Corridor that so many Texans are screaming about? And put a stop to the move to create a North American Union? Stands for your right to homeschool your children? Stands for your right to keep and bear arms? Votes according to the U.S. Constitution? And if you know the answers to these qeustions... Why aren't you voting for him??I agree that Congress has the real power, but I also have noticed that Bush did A LOT to screw this country up in 7 years... so I think someone with some brains and a sense of what's right for the American taxpayer could do A LOT to FIX things in this country in 4 or 8 years. I also agree that some of his changes are drastic, and maybe he couldn't put them all into place in 1 or 2 terms, but don't you think that we at least need to be moving in the right direction? Smaller federal gov, lower taxes for middle class, sound money, no needless wars, etc., etc. In other words, the opposite of the way things have been going. I think you people are going to realize after 4 more years with a CFR member, we're not going to be any better off... much worse in fact. more

Resolved Question: Why do so many people deny that the North American Union is a reality? We already have the EU and AU!?

EU is the European Union, and the AU is the African Union. The American Union is Canada, Mexico and the USA. The proof is there..all you need to do is read...and it comes directly from Government papers! This presentation gives a good oversight about how the EU came about and what is currently happening in the US: http://www.freedom.org/conferences/naugreen2/launch.html# Judicial watch has information about the Dept. of Homeland Security Chertoff's memos about the SPP and if you follow the links at the bottom of the article, then it will show you the direct links from the SPP which they got by the freedom of information act: http://www.judicialwatch.org/6216.shtml Here is more information about the Trans-Texas Corridor from an outside source with more information about what is currently happening in this area: http://www.naftasuperhighway.info/There are also many states which have drafted and passed legislation against the NAU. I know that Idaho, Georgia, Arizona, Missouri, Illinois, Oregon, Montana, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington and Virginia have had resolutions attempting to do this. If this was all a conspiracy theory then there wouldn't be states going against this one at a time like they are. I do know that Texan citizens are also not happy about NAFTA because there are people who are losing major amounts of land (Imminent domain) to the NAFTA Super highway called the Trans-Texas Corridor which will go up through Kansas City all the way to Canada. The first "Port" will be in Kansas City, where we will be relying on Mexico to screen all cargo entering the US, up until Kansas City. http://www.kcsmartport.com/sec_about/section/StrategicPlan.htmAnother site you can look at is the Council of Foreign Relations site and then type in North American Union in their search area at the top right. http://www.cfr.org/ It shows exactly what they want to happen. There is also www.spp.gov, There will be a meeting between the three countries on April 21 and 22 of this year and held in New Orleans. It will be the three "Presidents" (I am not sure the official title of the name of the position in Canada) that represents the three countries. I am cringing at what may come out of that meeting. So, my question is this: Why do so many people deny that this is not what is happening, even when government papers state that is EXACTLY what is happening?Snopes?!? LOL I needed a laugh, thanks!Fast...they already TRIED to pass one currency in 2005. It failed in Congress, but they are in the process of pushing it through again, only this time successfully!I happen to LIKE the Constitution and Bill of Rights. NAU? No, thank you on SO many levels!Call me bawana...They are having a meeting (CLOSED MEETING TO THE PRESS) on April 21 and 22. This is the 5 meeting...one every year since the creation of the SPP. If you looked at the websites that I listed it gives DIRECTLY what the SPP does! more

Resolved Question: Are there any Texans against the Trans Texas Corridor (NAFTA Superhighway?) Free April 5?

"For those of you with an opinion on the Trans Texas Corridor, you might want to head down to Austin Texas on April 5 to make your voice heard. Here’s the notification of a rally (anti-toll) that anyone on either side of the toll-road debate might want to join. AUSTIN,TX –Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom (TURF) is organizing a march down Congress Avenue and rally on the South Capitol steps Saturday, April 5. Invited speakers include: Congressman Ron Paul (R – TX), Congressman Virgil Goode (R – VA), Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D – OH), and Oklahoma Senator Randy Brogdon (all of whom have introduced and/or passed bills or resolutions to stop funding the Trans Texas Corridor), along with many Texas State Legislators and local leaders who are leading the fight against the TTC and tolls across Texas and AMERICA! WHEN: Saturday, April 5 March begins - 12:15 pm (The staging area for the march will be at the parking lots at the corner of Cesar Chavez St. & Red River St.) Rally from - 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm WHERE: South Capitol steps, Austin, TX Terri Hall, (210) 275-0640, Founder of Texans Uniting for Reform & Freedom (TURF) Hank Gilbert, (903) 871-2424, TURF Board Member/Rally Coordinator EMAIL: terri@texasturf.org and hank@texasturf.org WEB: http://www.TexasTURF.orgLooks like they are well into trying to get partial funding (most from some Chinese companies) and are building fast food and stations on the tollway so it will by pass the small businesses in towns as well as make the Mexico port trucked to Canada market plan a reality. Amazing they keep saying this doesn't exist when the foot print of land they want for eminent domain is several football field's wide. Is anyone going to this rally?Bernake, it would build infrastructure to avoid US ports and expensive US port security (like the billions in radiation detectors) and would have Mexican truckers at lower labor rates taking goods from new Mexican trucks on China financed toll roads with captive fast food (no benefit to local towns from traffic) to Canada, via Kansas City. A lot of US jobs lost form ports to trucking to highway roadside services....sorry above it should have been 'new Mexico ports' they just opened a huge one in Baja and are opening another huge one idea is Chinese goods could go there for cheaper labor cost and cheaper overall trucking and delivery cost - but we are cut out.Bernake, you didn't notice that part about captive restaurants and speedlane toll roads? The money goes to Chinese toll funding and the few restaurants on the oasis on the toll way - not in towns there now. This is not trade. This is jobs from trade we already have going to others. more

Resolved Question: What do you think about the Trans Texas corridor's potential to drain jobs from the US to Mexican ports and

truckers? http://www.nolanchart.com/article3107.html "It will include 10 lanes for traffic, two high speed rail tracks, four standard rail tracks, utility lines, oil pipelines, and gas pipelines. The Trans-Texas Corridor will consist of many corridors segments that are 1,200 feet wide, with each mile consuming 146 acres of land. This land is currently ranch and farm land that is being taken by eminent domain. Eminent domain is a law where the government can take land for the public good. The owner of that property is compensated at current market rates. It is estimated that 580,000 acres (906 square miles) will be taken from private owners and given to the state for the Trans-Texas Corridor. ... The Trans-Texas Corridor will cost an estimated 184 billion dollars. Currently, Texas is seeking private investment to fund the Trans-Texas Corridor. Cintra, a Spanish firm, is the largest financer so far. They will build, design and operate the highway. If private funding is insufficient, Texas could use public funding. Texas is actively seeking federal funding for part of the project, but Representatives like Ron Paul have submitted bills trying to block this federal funding. Most of the Trans-Texas Corridor roads will have limited access. This means that the Corridor will bypass many of the communities it runs through with no on-ramps or off-ramps; thus, many local communities will not benefit. Communities that depend on travel dollars will see some of that traffic siphoned off by the TTC. The proposed plan is for restaurants, gas stations and hotels that accompany the TTC to be state contracted concessions located within the corridor. Opponents believe that this is the start of the North American Union highway system. They believe this is a system which will provide cheaper transportation of goods from Mexico; thus, enabling more jobs to move to Mexico. Recently Mexico has made investments to improve their ports. They are spending $200 million to expand Mexico's deepest port, Lazaro, Cardenas. Lazaro, Cardenas is 900 miles south of Laredo, Texas. Considering Mexico dock workers make $12 a day and the port fees are lower, it would make sense to bring sConsidering Mexico dock workers make $12 a day and the port fees are lower, it would make sense to bring shipments to a port that is only a short distance from the US border, such as Punta Colonet. Punta Colonet, 150 miles south of the California border, is expected to become a super port. Part of the proposed 5 billion dollar investment into Punta Colonet includes a railway into the US. If Mexico introduces a highway system at the border that transports goods faster, the idea of shipping into and out of Mexico becomes very feasible for many businesses. ... The biggest slap in the face is that the state has developed the Texas Trans-Corridor bill, HB 3588, out of public eye. A closed door meeting hashed out the 100 page bill. Then the bill creating the TTC was signed by Governor Perry with no media attention. Closed door meetings have taken place to discuss where the branches of the corridors will run. " Good idea for us? Resolved Question: Have you heard of the NAFTA Superhighway?

The NAFTA Superhighway http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2006/tst103006.htm By now many Texans have heard about the proposed “NAFTA Superhighway,” which is also referred to as the trans-Texas corridor. What you may not know is the extent to which plans for such a superhighway are moving forward without congressional oversight or media attention. This superhighway would connect Mexico, the United States, and Canada, cutting a wide swath through the middle of Texas and up through Kansas City. Offshoots would connect the main artery to the west coast, Florida, and northeast. Proponents envision a ten-lane colossus the width of several football fields, with freight and rail lines, fiber-optic cable lines, and oil and natural gas pipelines running alongside. This will require coordinated federal and state eminent domain actions on an unprecedented scale, as literally millions of people and businesses could be displaced. The loss of whole communities is almost certain, as planners cannot wind the highway around every quaint town, historic building, or senior citizen apartment for thousands of miles. Governor Perry is a supporter of the superhighway project, and Congress has provided small amounts of money to study the proposal. Since this money was just one item in an enormous transportation appropriations bill, however, most members of Congress were not aware of it. The proposed highway is part of a broader plan advanced by a quasi-government organization called the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America,” or SPP. The SPP was first launched in 2005 by the heads of state of Canada, Mexico, and the United States at a summit in Waco. The SPP was not created by a treaty between the nations involved, nor was Congress involved in any way. Instead, the SPP is an unholy alliance of foreign consortiums and officials from several governments. One principal player is a Spanish construction company, which plans to build the highway and operate it as a toll road. But don’t be fooled: the superhighway proposal is not the result of free market demand, but rather an extension of government-managed trade schemes like NAFTA that benefit politically-connected interests. Resolved Question: How long will it be before the people realize it is too late?

Who else will be laughing when Obama, Clinton, McCain (inevitably one is the next president) screw up the United States? North American Union, Trans Texas Corridor (NAFTA highway), REAL ID, and various other freedom killers is what we will see if the U.S. does not take immediate action. Unfortunately, we are presented with the past mistakes of history, yet we reject them and think that the present and future will be different. So far, I haven't heard of a legitimate reason why someone would not vote for Ron Paul. I hear "loony" and "nut case" ever so often, but that's the best the sheep have given. It won't be long before at least half the Americans realize what is going on. The other half will still be led on to believe that America is free, even when their rights slither from their grasps. If you don't vote for Ron Paul, at least be prepared for the next decade that is to come. more

Voting Question: The NAFTA Freeway in TX?

Has Hillary's support of NAFTA angered the people of TX who are going to have to sacrafice their families land to build the trans texas corridor? Most citizens are against this highway but the dept of trans says they need it to support NAFTA traffic coming from Mexico through TX. Why did Hillary Clinton tout this as a good accomplichment for her husband, an administration she claims to have participated in?http://banderasnews.com/0711/edop-rossperot.htmfedup i know ALL about the TTC, ive been to the town hall meetings on it. Its ridiculous and anti american, and a sell out. Hillary owns some of the blame for it.Bekin she only came out against NAFTA when she stated running for president, she even praised it in her book, PLUS if you are going to count Bills presidency on your resume as your own experience, than you should be prepared to be held accountable for the mistakes too. more

Resolved Question: Are any other Texans upset about this Texas Trans Corridor?

Proposal in Texas for a Public-Private Toll Road System Raises an Outcry RALPH BLUMENTHAL The New York Times February 10, 2008 ROBSTOWN, Tex. — Leon Little’s farm here near Corpus Christi would not be seized for Texas’s proposed $184-billion-plus superhighway project for 5 or 10 years, if ever. But Mr. Little was alarmed enough to show up Wednesday night with hundreds of his South Texas coastal neighbors to do what the Texas Department of Transportation has been urging: “Go ahead, don’t hold back.” Don’t worry. Texans have gotten the message, swamping hearings and town meetings across the state to grill and often excoriate agency officials about a colossal traffic makeover known as the Trans-Texas Corridor, a public-private partnership unrivaled in the state’s — or probably any state’s — history, that would stretch well into the century and, if completed in full, end up costing around $200 billion. “Is your road more important than the foodstuffs we put together for you?” http://www.infowars.com/?p=168 more

Resolved Question: What makes Romney conservative?

.Didn't support the bush tax cuts .Supports the brady bill .Supports the “assault” weapon ban .Supports stem cell research .Supports "emergency contraception" pills or "day after" pills .Supports abortion, "Abortion should be safe and legal" .Supports a deal where all illegal alien workers, can stay here working and eventually get citizenship, upon paying a small fine. .He does not support deportation of illegal aliens. .Supports a national ID card (REAL ID) .Supports gay "civil unions" at a federal level .Does no longer support abolishing the department of education .Supports no child left behind act . Laughs at the idea of the Trans-Texas corridor & Nafta superhighway so possibility of loss of sovereignty is a joke to him. So what makes this guy so conservative? The 2nd amendment issues are enough for be to be nauseated by this man."He's the most Conservative out there." Sarcasm right? If Romneys views have changed, please note when they changed. However I am more concerned with a candidates views 10 years ago, then NOW less than a year before the election, as 95% of these issues are timeless. more

Resolved Question: What do you think about the Trans Texas Corridor? Is this is raw deal?

Secret deal with a private foreign company. Gov. Rick Perry has had secret negations with a company from Spain, Cintra, to hold a 70 year concession for a portion of the Corridor. Perry and Cintra/Zachery withheld the agreement from the public, claiming it included proprietary information, even though taxpayer dollars to the tune of $3.5 million is going to Cintra's partner, Zachry, for planning. Attorney General Greg Abbott rendered an opinion in June, 2005 that states the documents are public record, after the Houston Chronicle and other newspapers around Texas were refused when they asked to see the deal. Cintra/Zachry and TxDOT filed a lawsuit against the AG in July, 2005 to keep the secret a secret. The state will take 1/2 million acres, including the richest farm land in Texas called "The Blacklands". more

Resolved Question: Why are Giuliani supporters accepting of a EU style North American Union?

Giuliani's has strong ties to two foreign investment consortia working to own or lease U.S. toll roads, including the Trans-Texas Corridor 35, which is identified as part of the I-35 "NAFTA Superhighway." Bracewell & Giuliani is identified by the Texas Department of Transportation as the sole law firm representing Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte as it plans to work on the 4 football field wide highway connecting Canada, USA, and Mexico. Why do you support Giulianis work toward a government system which supercedes the US Constitution?*This system creates (and are in prototype) biometric IDs to be issued to all citizens of Canada, USA & Mexico so that our borders can be erased. more

Resolved Question: Bush Administration Quietly Plans NAFTA Super Highway?

How many have heard about this and I wonder if Bush's lobbying for the illegal Immigrants is in any way tied to this? Bush Administration Quietly Plans NAFTA Super Highway http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=15497 Quietly but systematically, the Bush Administration is advancing the plan to build a huge NAFTA Super Highway, four football-fields-wide, through the heart of the U.S. along Interstate 35, from the Mexican border at Laredo, Tex., to the Canadian border north of Duluth, Minn. Once complete, the new road will allow containers from the Far East to enter the United States through the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas, bypassing the Longshoreman’s Union in the process. The Mexican trucks, without the involvement of the Teamsters Union, will drive on what will be the nation’s most modern highway straight into the heart of America. The Mexican trucks will cross border in FAST lanes, checked only electronically by the new “SENTRI” system. The first customs stop will be a Mexican customs office in Kansas City, their new Smart Port complex, a facility being built for Mexico at a cost of $3 million to the U.S. taxpayers in Kansas City. As incredible as this plan may seem to some readers, the first Trans-Texas Corridor segment of the NAFTA Super Highway is ready to begin construction next year. Various U.S. government agencies, dozens of state agencies, and scores of private NGOs (non-governmental organizations) have been working behind the scenes to create the NAFTA Super Highway, despite the lack of comment on the plan by President Bush. The American public is largely asleep to this key piece of the coming “North American Union” that government planners in the new trilateral region of United States, Canada and Mexico are about to drive into reality. Just examine the following websites to get a feel for the magnitude of NAFTA Super Highway planning that has been going on without any new congressional legislation directly authorizing the construction of the planned international corridor through the center of the country.http://www.nascocorridor.com/NAFTA was an expansion of the earlier Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement of 1988 (Regan was in Office) The agreement was initially pursued by conservative governments in the United States and Canada supportive of free trade, led by Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, U.S. President George H. W. Bush, and the Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari. The three-nation NAFTA was signed on 17 December 1992, pending its ratification by the legislatures of the three countries. There was considerable opposition in all three countries, but in the United States it was able to secure passage after Bill Clinton made its passage a major legislative initiative in 1993. During his presidential campaign he had promised to review the agreement, which he considered inadequate. Since the agreement had been signed by Bush under his fast-track prerogative, Clinton did not alter the original agreement, but complemented it with the aforementioned NAAEC and NAALC.After intense political debate and the negotiation of these side agreements, the U.S. House passed NAFTA by 234-200 (132 Republicans and 102 Democrats voting in favor, 156 Democrats, 43 Republicans, and 1 independent against).[3] and the U.S. Senate passed it by 61-38[4] Finally, Clinton sanctioned the ratification in November of 1993. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Free_Trade_Agreement more
