Hi: i am traveling to turkey this july with my wife and my son(he is 8 months old by then). I am planning to travel to ISTANBUL, BURSA, Bodrum and Fethiye for 9 days and 8 nights. i will be arriving to istanbul on 22nd june (night) and departing from Istanbul on 1st july(night) can any one help me decide my itinerary. if i want 3 days in istanbul. 2 days in bodrum 3 days in fethiye and 1 day bursa. i am thinking to arrive in istanbul and directly fly to bodrum. there i stay for 2 days and go to fethiye by road (or ferry) which ever is available. stay in fethiye for 3 days and go back to bodrum fly to istanbul. there is stay for 3 days. take one day ferry tour of bursa. is this itinerary fine. please help me. if there is some better place than fathiye do let me know . please note that i dont want to travel to Cappadocia Ephesus - pergamon - or to Pamukkale which i have kept for my next year tour de turkey.)also please tell me the best mode of transportation i can take if i directly arrive in istanbul and want to go to bodum then to fethiye from there and back to istanbul.please also help me if there is some other better city . i am really confused more

Here are our ports: Santorini, Greece Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey Mykonos, Greece Athens (Piraeus), Greece Katakolon (Olympia), Greece Corfu, Greece We need help on how to get around there. We don't want to take shore excursions because they're too expensive. We prefer a tour that departs regularly so that we don't need to book ahead. Like a hop-on hop-off or one of those regular organized tours. I would appreciate if anyone from one of those ports or have gone to one of ports to help us or just share how you went around. My boyfriend and I are planning our trip to Turkey this summer and want to use a reliable tour agency. Has anyone used the above sites/ travel agencies? They seem to be run by the same company. We want to plan a two week trip visiting, Istanbul, Ephesus, Pamukkale, CAPPADOCIA, Troy, Bodrum, and Pergamon. Resolved Question: What is appropriate attire for my trip?

My Fiance and I are going on a cruise for our Honeymoon. We will be taking shore Excursions during the Day. It will be mid June. Our ports are Messina, Sicily; Athens, Greece; Ephesus, Turkey; and Irkalion, Crete. We are young in mid 20's and active. I know for some places if we are going to churches and religous sites, no shorts or shoulders. But what about when we go to the Acropolis in Athens, or walking around Crete or a wine tour in Sicily. What do you suggest for a day around Rome? One day we are going to St. Peter's so I know we have to wear pants...but what I am curious mainly about is the other days, can I wear shorts and t-shirt or polo? My fiance can she wear shorts? Probably not bc they will be much shorter than men's conservative shorts....HELP! more

I'm thinking of doing a day trip by flight to either one of this two places and was wondering on your thoughts, and which place has what to see what which was better in your opinion? They are charging me Euro 189 for a group tour of Ephesus which includes transfers, flight, tour, entrance charge, lunch and all taxes and Euro 255 for Cappadocia for all the above as well. Is this ok or over priced? Should i just buy my own tickets and go over there and find a tour guide? more

Resolved Question: Classical Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria in 11 days?

I will be flying in and out of Istanbul and will be there for 11 days from April 1 this year. I am wondering what would be the best tourist route to see Classical Turkey, Greece (and maybe a glimpse of the most beautiful island heh) and Bulgaria in 11 days. I am not very much a beach person, so I am thinking that a ferry ride from Piraeus to Samos and onto Kusadasi may suffice. No idea if it is going to be scenic. I cant seem to get much info from travel guides nor googling. So I thought I would ask. My tentative itinerary is as follows: Day 1 Arrive Istanbul. Leave Istanbul on Filia express to Athens Day 2 Spend a day in Acropolis Day 3 Delphi Tour Day 4 Take ferry from Piraeus to Samos to Kudadasi - Any suggestion of which ferry that runs at this time of year? Day 5 Ephesus tour Day 6 Gallipoli Day 7 Istanbul - Personal agenda Day 8 Edrine - Personal agenda Day 9 Sophia Day 10 Rila Monastery Day 11 Sophia?Poliv back to Istanbul - Is bus the best way or train? Day 12 Fly out of Istanbul Appreciate if you can advise of specific routes, transport details and approximate cost. Any other travel tips or suggestions to itinerary most welcome. Please also advise any tips for travel as a female if I choose not to join local tours. Any tips for those tours like Ephesus or Delphi or Galiipoli appreciated. I will be staying in hostels. This is our first time to the Mediterranean. We (2 of us) have really enjoyed renting scooters in past ports of call. We'd appreciate thoughts on the best and worst places to do this by some of you experienced folk... We'll be traveling in late November.
