Having lived in SA all my life, I feel I can offer a good service to people from the UK going to Sa for the football. I know most the routes, where to go and where not to and I know the better hotels at better prices. I will hire cars, drive, book air tickets, hotel accom, take to proper restaurants (not only the tourists traps) take to attractions etc etc. Any advice would be welcome.Yup, I,ve heard all the horror stories, which is why I feel if you are taken around by someone who knows the way the country ticks, you wont get ripped off. moreOpen Question: Is there any freelance guide in Loire Valley Area??

Can someone (who knows french) read this letter and find all the verbes conjugues au present (16), verbes conjugues au passe compose(11), verbes conjugues a l'imperatif(3), and verbes conjugues au futur simple(11). Plz just put them in a list of some kind. plz try to find all of them. This is due in two days so plz answer fast. Ty Comment vas-tu? Okay, I know they are probably HUGE tourist traps & very cliche, but I would love to visit a voodoo shop in New Orleans. Are they in the French Quarter?? Are there any you could recommend?? Thanks so much!! BQ: I've heard that the famous St. Louis Cemetery is unsafe to visit unless you take a guided tour. Why is that?? I'm a freshman and soon my college is holding a Spring Open House for high school students. I signed up to welcome/recruit students. Last year I was making the same choices as these students, so I want to give off a good impression and hopefully give them good reasons to attend the college. How can I appear friendly, professional, and yet reassuring? How do I prepare for the Open House? I won't be giving tour guides but I will be answering questions from student/parents and telling them about/guiding them to the various events being held. So, any advice?! I'm super nervous but excited! moreOpen Question: Why did I LOSE OUT on the Job?
Please read the whole question before judging me. I am 27 and decided it would be great to audition to be a Tour Guide at a very fun museum. The audition ended up being packed and there were about 20 other people also waiting their turn. Our audition was to stand up and make the Audition panel laugh and be inspired by our engagement. As I waited, I began realizing this was my knack. I always make my friends laugh. When it was my turn, I stood up and started my schtick (routine). I said "Howdy folks! I'm Carolyn Wilson and you're about to learn about ME! And where I come from! I am so far away from this town, they think I got lost on my way to the bathroom." When no one laughed or looked inspired, I decided to play it droll by saying: "Wow, yeah I probably shouldn't have said that." I said this in a very non chalant, laid back way suggesting I was admitting to being bad. Instead of applauding me for actually admitting I had no confidence, they told me to step aside and that I probably wasn't going to get called back. WHAT THE FUCK?! I thought being modest was supposed to get you places! I actually stood there and solmenly told them "Yeah, I wasn't funny, I admit it" and instead of shaking my hand and welcoming me aboard, they denied me employment. What did I do wrong? I don't understand. moreOpen Question: In the name of God, why do I HATE my Job?
I am 27 and work in customer service. Our job is to give tours at a museum. Every single day we have to have a big meeting with all the staff and play improv games and "Act Cheerful and Smile a lot." I've been doing this for almost 4 years now and nothing has changed. I'm tired of it. While all my friends either moved up in the company or got other jobs, I've been stuck giving the same damn tour and doing the same customer stuff forever. And yet all my managers, new and old, seem to think we as staff need to continuously be trained to be more guest friendly! And its the same crap any idiot with common sense would know what to do: Always approach guests with a friendly attitude, engage guests and go above and beyond, ask guests lots of friendly questions about their experience, never talk about inappropriate content, etc. This is all stuff we know! Why do they keep telling us the same bullshit every year as if we're first graders? And managers, if you're reading this- please answer. We're a non-profit organization- guests will come and pay money for the exhibits regardless how nice the guides are. Trust me- I hate the service at Great America, but I still go every year. Why are they so hard on customer service people and always expect MORE? So today I had had enough. My new supervisor Betsie wanted me to look more engaged during an improv warm-up game. I rolled my eyes and told her "Leave me the **** alone! I've been here 4 years, this is all old to me. I know how to do my job. Just let me do it." She wrote me up and told me I had no right to yell at her like that. True, I didn't- but you understand. (AND DO NOT TYPE UP **** LIKE "If I were your boss, I would have fired you." I've heard it all before). I'm prepared to be told I should grow up, be grateful to have a job, and all that other stuff. That's not what I'm asking. I want to know why I'm 27 and still am stuck doing customer service jobs when I have a degree, am damn near 30 and all my other friends are raking in salaries? And why are customer service jobs so awful to work at? Why is management the same no matter where you go? Everything is Micromanagement and its terrible! They don't care about us. They just treat us like dirt. Please answer! And only answer if you can give me detailed responses- no spam ads, no one-sentence quips.Uh no I wasn't black hoof, and since you're probably a BLACK GHETTO FEMALE, learn to writer proper english or go back to where your Chains used to cling to you! moreOpen Question: What are the top attractions in the Louvre?
I'm going on a tour of France with my school in about a month, and we'll have the opportunity to wonder around the Louvre for a couple hours. We don't have all that much time (i'd guess 3 hours, but that is totally estimated) and I wanted to know what the main attractions "must see" things are to look for. We won't be going on a guide, so we're free to walk around as we please. Thanks for the advice! moreOpen Question: Movies from way back when!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Ok i saw this movie a long time ago and cannot remember the title for the life of me it is one that made me laugh so hard. I remember faint parts but i hope somebody can help me out: one of the parts that i remember is this tour guide is in africa in this old scool manual drive safari jeep and everything would go wrong and one time he drove up to a gate and had to open it so he got out and when he opened the gate his vehical was rolling down the hill. Unfortunatly i cant remember anything else if somebody can name this movie you are a life saver... moreOpen Question: How many buses are there in Beijing?
Our tour guide said there are 9 million bicycles and 15 million city buses (public transportation) in Beijing. I believe the 9 million bicycles, but 15 MILLION city buses seems huge. Could she have missed a decimal point? moreOpen Question: You are being airlifted to NY, NY by helicopter, what do you do?
You repel off of the chopper onto the top of the Empire State, which is still a nice building btw. And you have the clothes you have on but no jacket, you have one Red Bull but no money or wallet or ID. The tour guide asks you for your tourism ticket but of course you have none and no money to buy one. You run off like Jason Bourne. How do you survive the week until the extraction? moreResolved Question: Does being a tour guide make good money and a fun experience?

Do i need a guide? Can I just go in and do what I want? Must I follow a trail? Must i get outdoors training if I go to the backcountry? This is what I want to do. I want to go see wolves. I don't care about the other wildlife (well, I do, but for this trip, I am just interested in wolves). How can I do this? Must I look for them myself? Is their a tour I can take? How can I do this?this is helpful, but basically I've just been getting information on what I can't do or what will kill me. I want to know what to do, not what not to do. How do i see wolves? And is there a horseback riding tour? moreResolved Question: If I am not here tomorrow, poem?
MY LAST POEM If tomorrow starts without me I'm not there for a kiss good-bye Remember our life together Cheer-up and please don't you cry When the tears do subside, fairwell I love you and I always will The flash backs of life might reveal The beauty of our life excell On the way to meet the Father From sounds of a trumpet and bell Comes this hansome young blond angle Hi ya grandpa, its me, Michael He took me on a guided tour Met all of our family and friends You will like it here someday too The glory of God never-ends. moreOpen Question: Should I take my FWB to Las Vegas with me?
We are not in a labeled, exclusive, or otherwise defined relationship. I mentioned that I was going to Vegas for my birthday and was asking about his recent trip there. After telling me about his trip, he stunned me by saying "I'd love to go back. Want some company?" Since he is the one that has been adamant about keeping our relationship as no-strings as possible, I am sort of confused. I see vacationing together as something couples do. Also, my brother lives there and is playing tour guide for the weekend. My friend knows this and is perfectly fine with it. If I wasn't going to develope a relationship with someone, I wouldn't be meeting their siblings. Am I just being old-fashioned? moreResolved Question: Why did I almost get fired?
I work as a tour guide at a busy museum, and we have a lot of staff. Our "team" has been designated a new Supervisor. Her name is Erin. Erin was so sweet and kind when I first met her- and I even was gracious enough to show her around the museum, give her tours of the exhibit we work on so she could learn the information, and tell her if she needed any further help, I was here as a friend. 6 months later and Erin's demeanor has changed. I'll explain- and please READ THE QUESTION before judging: I was just getting off a tour in which I was training a new employee and was scheduled for a program. But my tour had run late so I was still assisting the new employee. Erin told me that I was late for my program, and next time call her- and also that I was "klumping" with staff. Klumping means we are seen with one or more staff together, and it appears like we're talking about personal stuff when in reality we usually are not. I told Erin I thought she was wrong to scold me for doing MY JOB! I wouldn't have been late to my program if I was training a new employee (something Erin technically should have been doing). And I wasn't klumping- I was telling the tour guide I had just finished training another new hire. Erin just happened to see me at the wrong time and assumed I was. Now I have to have a meeting about my "negative" attitude when in fact, I did nothing wrong! Before I get the stupid "If I was your boss, I would have..." Please. I don't want to hear it. You're not my boss so don't write as if you are. Right now I am thinking about going to our director and reporting Erin for being unfair and also rude. I thought Erin was my friend when I first met her. Turns out she's a bitch. After everything I did for her! And I understand at 27 I should be grateful to have a job in this economy, but come on! I don't like being scolded for not doing my job, when in fact I WAS Doing it! Why is micro-management like this? No matter what customer service job I work at, the management treats you like crap. And I'm not the only one who feels this way. My other co-workers also don't like how they're nit-picking everything we do, and are just looking for ways to fire us for any "wrong" doing. Please help me! I'm actually feeling suicidal. This is not what I wanted to do in my life. And yet here I am, dealing with jerks for bosses. Is there ANY job where the bosses aren't uptight anal people? Please help. moreOpen Question: Tax question for working out of state?
I am a travel agent taking clients to Alaska. They will pay me for my time for showing them around, like a tour guide. Can this be a deduction and do I need to pay taxes then in Alaska since they are paying me for time they are experiencing in Alaska? I live in Cleveland. moreOpen Question: Travel business accounting question?

I work programmer: c++ vb php and work as Egyptian tour guide, some tourists advised me to emigrate to USA, because the are dealing well with all programmers... im 27 m Egypt how to emigrate please step by step any help would be appreciated thanks in advance Mahmoud moreResolved Question: Is this sentance wrong?
I wrote a sentence in a paper the goes like this: The whales are very curious and often swim up to the boats. my dad said that you only use THE in front of a singular noun. So he said its: The whales are very curious and often swim up to boats. (I am a tour guide in this paper and I'm try to convince people to go whale watching so I said the whales will play next to THE boats and bla bla bla to THE boats. Is THE not important- do I get rid of it? moreResolved Question: is 'stingray sailing' abusive to the stingrays?
were going to the cayman islands for spring break and my dad said were going on a stingray sailing tour ( http://www.stingraysailing.com/index.html ) i saw a manatee video on youtube a week ago (i love manatees <3) about how they are abused on pet the manatees tours. The guide grabbed a baby manatee and wouldnt let it swim away and just held the poor thing while it screamed and fat tourists pet it. I dont want that to happen with the stingrays, and i asked my dad about it, the website says "Once at the Sandbar, one of our crew will teach you the proper technique for interacting with the stingrays, then enter the water with you to show you how it is done. We will even supply you with squid (the favorite food of the rays) so that you can feed them and even tempt them up to the surface yourselves." is that..right? is that ok for the rays or are they just in captivity? my sister said she saw something on animal planet, and they probably just cut off the rays' stingers so they wont hurt anyone. My mom agreed with this and said not to worry, ill be fine. But im not worried about TOURISTS safety, im worried about the STINNGRAYS safety! i dont want to go pet a bunch of abused stingrays. Now my whole family hates me for "being so negative about our vacation" but i just want to make sure the stingrays are happy, not just only the people who pet them. by looking at the website can someone tell if it abuses the rays or not? thanx :) moreResolved Question: Why do people keep lying about America being in a Recession?
I work as a tour guide in a museum, and sometimes I'm forced to "baby-sit" in a play area designated for kids nine and under- and their parents. You white mothers should be ASHAMED of yourselves! I myself am 27, and am downright embarrassed at how you Upper-middle class Yuppie mothers act. 1) I noticed so many moms coming in with double-strollers, DEMANDING they could bring them in the play area. I had to tell at least 20 stuck up bitches to park their strollers in the area behind them called "STROLLER PARKING"! Apparently you rich golddiggers never learned how to read anything besides your $1 million marriage contracts, since the signs are so evident. So many parents demanded they should be able to bring their strollers in the area. I had to explain it was a fire hazzard. They didn't understand. I even told one woman "Either park your stroller, or park your face out of mine." She seemed insulted. 2) Why do you White Moms spoil your children to oblivion? Seriously, I saw one parent allow her kid to throw all the books off the shelf in the reading area. She then looked at me like I WAS SUPPOSED to put the books back! Uh, no. Its YOUR kid. You do it. I told the woman "Either put the books back, or I'll call security." She reported me, and my supervisor talked to me but understood it wasn't my fault. You Double-stroller pushing moms who don't have to work since your rich husbands do, think you're inclined to take your spoiled brats to museums on your lunch hour, just so you can act stressed and be rude because you feel entitled to everything. 3) Why do you let your kids cry all the damn time? Seriously! Its annoying. Hire a ******* baby-sitter and stop bringing your children everywhere you go. Just to show off usually. You become a pamper buying, reluctant slave to your child and we have to deal with it at the museum. 4) WHY FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST are you so rude?! If we, as tour guides, try to tell you to calm your children down from throwing balls or running, you roll your eyes and act like its our fault. YOUR the parent! Do your job and stop complaining. 5) I hate when I hear the economy is bad. When I see all these rich white women come in with thousand dollar handbags, Gucci outfits and cash to spend on $100 lunches, come on! What recession? I don't see it. And then they look down on me because I'm a tour guide. Please, explain!I asked for answers, not one sentence quips! I'm also a white woman, but I'm pissed at these rude rich women! COME ON ANSWER CORRECTLY!Damn it! EXPLAIN how we're in a recession and all the parents I COME into contact with are rich, upper-class snobs who have tons of money? I'm confused.STOP TELLING ME "If I were your boss, I would have fired you." Newsflash- you're Not my boss, and I live in a Non-Fire at will state, so they have to have a lot on my file for me to get terminated. moreResolved Question: Strange college sports?
I'm a junior in high school and for the past few months I've been scouting for colleges. My first stop was at George Mason University in VA. In the debriefing speech made by the administrations officer at the school he described how GMU offers a wide range of sports. Then he says that GMU has an underwater hockey team and a Quittage team (the sport from Harry Potter where they all fly around on brooms) and this isn't a joke. One of the student tour guides was on the quittage team. Am I the only one that thinks both of these sports are ridiculous? And how would you even watch underwater hockey? Anyone know another college that has these sports? moreOpen Question: help me find a song from a commercial?
in the 2nd of 3 new commercials for jamaica, Usain Bolt (the worlds fastest man) is running around as "the worlds fastest tour guide." one love is playing in the backround, and its a different version. i wanna know what version it is, and not just the fact that it is sped up. moreVoting Question: HOW TO RAISE $3800.00 IN ONE YEAR?
Next year, the school choir is going to Italy on the March break. I need $3800.00 plus money for spending, money for lunch, and tips for the bus driver and tour guide (mandatory). I am only 13 years old (14 on march 24th) I don't know how to raise the money!!!??? Please help! Any ideas are greatly appreciated! Also, if you know how much I have to tip the bus driver and tour guide, could you throw that in your answer!! Thank you so much! moreResolved Question: What is the best way to see Rome?

Hey guys, I'm 13 and I'm starting to think about my future, I want to work in the music industry. I want to either tour with a band as I play the guitar and the bass guitar, or work as a music producer. (I think its called a "Music Producer") Is a music producer where you record other artist's music then sell it. I would also enjoy being a band manager. If you guys could just give me some guide lines, tips or tell me what i would need to study or have a degree's in, I would really appreciate it. Any link's will also be appreciated. Thanks guy's, this means allot! moreResolved Question: Looking for software to automate the process of booking tour guests at a facility?
I am looking for a software solution that will help automate the process of completing a tour booking for guests who visit our facility. We offer one-on-one tours to guests, and right now go through a lengthy workflow which could be significantly reduced. Ideally, the system would do the following: 1.) Operator completes the booking with the tour date and time, guest name, email address, tour options (what they want to see), tour guide's name, and their parking location. 2.) The system automatically emails the guest using their name, email, tour date/time, and tour details with a confirmation that they can print out. 3.) The system automatically alerts various departments (based on the tour options criteria from step 1) of the date and time of the guest's tour. 4.) 24 hours after the guest's tour, the system automatically emails the guest thanking them for coming. It doesn't seem to be particularly complicated work-flow, certain tasks are simply completed based on simple criteria. I just don't have the know-how or time to set this up with some other solution. I'm looking for a suggestion on possible software solution for this project. moreResolved Question: Advice for touring the United Nations?
I want to go on a guided tour of the United Nations building in NYC tomorrow, but have a limited time window. Does anyone know how the tickets work? First come first served? If I show up at 11:30, would it be possible to finish a tour by 2pm?Hey chanteus - the details I am asking about are not on their site. Thanks for the sarcastic answer though. Jackass moreResolved Question: Does the landlord legally have to be present when people come to view the house?
I don't much feel like playing tour guide around the house I live in to a group of strangers. They're meant to come tonight at 8pm (late, especially since I went to bed at about 9.30pm yesterday!) but the landlord isn't coming to show them around. He also didn't OK it with me, but my housemate by telephone (who is out, incidentally) So under UK law, does the landlord have to legally be present for people to come and view the house? If he doesn't, I'll obviously oblige and show these people around despite not wanting to, because it would be within my tenancy agreement to do so. moreVoting Question: Cheating girlfriend or am I overreacting?
My gf is a tour guide and we have talked seriously about getting married etc. She is 24 I'm 27. We met whilst I was on tour in China last year and kept up a long distance relationship until I came over to be a teacher about 4 months ago. She has just visited Thailand as part of her work (first time overseas and first time doing international tour guide work). The problem I've just encountered tonight is that she rung me a couple of times. The first time to say there are lots of bars on Phuket Island and that she finished her work early and was now shopping for souvenirs and was very tired. The second phone call was disturbing...she mentioned the bars again and said there were many Europeans and Americans and that she was excited by the sheer number of them. At this point I took it as a sign she is about to cheat on me. So I'm rethinking everything and about to pack my bags in a week or so after my contract finishes. Clearly she comes across as a bit of a player and not someone I could trust. A trusted friend said she might be trying to save face by telling me this to give me the opportunity to break up with her. Either way it's caused unnecessary stress and has me firmly believing she will cheat on me. It's a popular holiday resort with many chances for her I think. So I need sensible answers on this one.I agree with the second answer. I am maybe sounding like an immature fool. She is only going for 5 days (will be back in 3 more). There's a serious trust issue which is making me question where I am going with this relationship. But I still think it's a bit disrespectful to turn around and tell your partner how excited you suddenly are because there's a lot of good looking guys around...we are supposed to be in a committed relationship for crying out loud. moreVoting Question: I'm sending a thank you note to an admissions officer?
This note is going to an engineering school in upstate New York and I just need it to be read over. Dear RPI Admissions Officers, Thank you for holding the information session and campus tour on February 16th despite the inclimate weather Troy experienced that day. It took a lot of convincing for a personal family friend to drive me three hours north while snow warnings were well under way, but believe me, it was definitely worth the trip. The information session answered all of my questions about the application process, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with your policies. After learning that Rensselaer allows for such a great degree of creative freedom regarding applicants’ college essays and considers each application for academic scholarship only makes me even more excited to apply this coming fall. And although it was below freezing outside, the tour was still very enjoyable. My tour guide, Justine, was fantastic at showing the group the main aspects of campus life and was very helpful when answering all of my questions that ranged in topics from where students do their laundry, to grant information, to rules concerning Easy Bake Ovens in dorm rooms. Visiting Rensselaer made me realize how much I truly love the purposeful and rigorous academics, as well as the positive atmosphere the staff and students create- characteristics I have not seen in other colleges I’ve considered. Thank you once again for giving me such a memorable experience, and I look forward to visiting in the near future. Sincerely, *My name here* What should I do to it, or is it okay like this? I plan on handwriting it on nice stationary and I have very nice, readable, script handwriting. Is that okay, or is it better to type it? Thank you! moreVoting Question: I'm sending a thank you note to a college admissions office, can someone read it over?

Thank you! moreResolved Question: Is there a good photographer/guide in Washington DC?

I want to go to Japan or China and I am wondering if I would be able to book everything through a tour guide instead of just booking it my self and getting lost in the city and probably missing the best bits. So for example, you pay maybe £1500 for a week for all the flights, they pick you up from the airport, provide lodging and show you all the best places in the city and maybe a few destinations outside it as well while in a group of like 5-10 other people. I hope something like this exists, if it does does anyone have a link to a tour that has good reputation? China would be Beijing and Japan would be Tokyo or Kyoto. Thanks :) moreVoting Question: Is a tour guide really needed or a local driver to visit most places in Rio de Janeiro?

Hello folks, I have put together a rough sketch of my itinerary for my trip through Italy. I'm going this March over spring break. I plan on visiting Rome and Italy. It's a little rushed, but I honestly am a little more fast-paced than most people, so I wouldn't mind being kind of rushed. I mainly want to make sure that the places I want to see are feasible to visit and in similar parts of town. Just a note: I cannot change the day that I land in Rome (Saturday at 18hr) or the day that I leave (Sunday at 4hr). I cannot change the location where I land. I'm aware that I'd save time if my flight schedule was different, but at this point I cannot change it. The flight and three nights in a Roman hostel are the only reservations that I have paid for though, so everything else is flexible. What do you think? Saturday: Land in Rome at 6 p.m., check into my hostel. Sunday: Cappuchin Crypt - Museum of Rome - Borghese Gallery - Appian Way - Travastere walk (North City Center of Rome) Monday: Colosseum, Forums, Palatine Hill, Pantheon. Pub crawl. Tuesday: Castel Sant'Angelo - Ponte Sant'Angelo - Catacombs of Priscilla Wednesday: Audience with the pope (I have a letter from the Vatican saying I can get tickets!), Sistine Chapel - St. Peter's basilica - Vatican museum -- At 22 pm--get on a train to to Venice Thursday 6 am Hop off the train at San Lucia, arrive in Venice 9 am Walk from St. Mark's Square to Frari Church (self-guided St. Marks to Rialto Walk chapter). Hello guys! I'm visiting Israel very soon (within 15 days) for religious tourism with my mother & we're staying there for a week. We're going to land in Tel Aviv but we're heading immediately towards Jerusalem when we're having our planned trip with a group. I don't want suggestions for religious monuments that we should visit as everything is planned by our tour guide. I'd like to receive tips about where to eat some local food, where to buy souvenirs, where I could go at night to have fun (I'm 20 and I will hang out with the youth of my group), what I should take care of there. I've read somewhere that I would face a problem at the airport as I have a stamp of my recent visit to Egypt at my passport. Is it valid? Will we face strict control at Tel Aviv airport? Also, I'm planning soon another trip in Morocco and in Turkey, will I have probs with the Israel stamp on my passport? Last question: do Israelis like Greeks? THX a lot for reading this. I can't wait to go there. :):) PS: I'm flying with EL AL Airlines. Any potential reviews? moreResolved Question: Could someone proofread this for me? ( this will be inSpanish)?
