OK! see... I'm currently running windows 7 home premium.. I was actually planning to change my OS to Ultimate edition of windows 7. but I want an assurance... my purpose on changing to Ultimate is that I just want that BitLocker software. I did a little bit of research: it requires a motherboard that supports a Trusted Platform Module. so I checked the details ans specs of my motherboard on the internet, but I wasn't able to find some info. my motherboard's ASRock 945GCM-S, some one tried researching but came up to find a pdf file about my motherboard... somehow, I can't seem to find the acronym TPM anywhere in it... possibly, my motherboard doesn't support TPM. So there was one forum i read that it was possible for them to enable Bitlocker without TPM. Now I'm not quite sure about this... so let me just suppose that I don't have TPM in my CPU. so what would happen if I installed windows 7 ultimate anyway? will I be able to run Bitlocker? If I can't seem to find it in the control panel(maybe due to the fact that there isn;'t any TPM detected). one was able to run it anyway and just posted it on a forum but no instructions mentioned. this is true according to other people... so How? please give me some relevant answer... Not those like I should as my manufacturer and etc.. thanks for reading!!! moreOpen Question: Deul or Quad Core processor for notebook?

I have always wanted to get into a little bit of web design and programming and low and behold I got a free server and was told I could get free software for being a student. So I am set to my website and host it at home (at least for now while I am learning and developing the website.) The only thing is that I am confused about many things and many of the explanations I find online are not very informative (well not informative about my questions.) First of all I should list what I have available to me. -A server (HP Proliant ML350 G3 that I am trying to install Windows Server 2003 standard x32 on, I don’t know or think there is a 32 bit version of Windows Server 2008 standard.) -Visual Studio 2010 Professional (I will be learning/using C# to write my ASP.NET 4 website) -Other various programs and software(For example: MS SQL Server 2008 Developer and Express) Second I will list what I am working on and want: -An ASP.NET 4 website (For 2 different major purposes: A store and a forum of trade) -A database (First to keep track of the items in the store, the cart, and other things related to the store. Second to keep a list of items each user has, that are a portion of the items available in the store.) -All of this on one server (The server I have listed above) So here is the issue. I do not know much about any of this. I understand that I have to learn the C# language or another language on my own to write the code and that is fine. I have taken a few intro classes to programming and am planning on getting a C# ASP.NET 4 book soon. I will also have to learn how everything works together. So what I am asking for is some information that I am confused about. I have many questions but here are just a few. -What is SQL? Is it the database it’s self or is it just the language to get information for the database? -Is the database kept in a file on a web server or is it something that NEEDS to be on its own database server of some kind? (This is where I am really confused, I have no clue how databases work or how SQL works.) -How does the database getting called by the website? -Can I run an ASP.NET 4 website on Windows Server 2003 standard? -Can I run an SQL database on Windows Server 2003 standard or MS SQL Server Express? Is MS SQL Server Express the database program or an OS? (I am assuming MS SQL Server Developer is where you make a database or edit one???) -Can I run both my website and my database on the same server? Would it be better to have the database somewhere else? (Maybe a computer with XP or another copy of Windows Server 2003 standard?) -If my server isn’t good enough for this then what would you recommend rather than buying a new server? (I don’t have that kind of money.) I thank you in advance for any information, advice, tips, or encouragement you can provide! Stephen moreResolved Question: Is this is Good Computer for Gaming?

I don't mean wealthy, but at least have some disposable income. It used to be if you had a desktop at home, you're up to date with technology. Now you're supposed to have an iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android, PS3, XBox, and so on, plus your laptop which gets old after a few years. The problem is, what if you can't buy toys? Say you graduated with a computer science degree, and are unemployed. And someone tells you to keep up to date, and suggests making Android apps as a personal development project. But you can't even afford a cell phone plan, let alone a smartphone. Maybe you still have a laptop but everyone thinks you're an old fart for only having one. A lot of careers involve technology, but only in CS/IT do you need to own the technology yourself, and have to constantly program in your free time. So if you're the unemployed graduate, what do you do? Maybe the reason programming/software careers tend to make a good amount of money is because those people don't come from low income backgrounds, and economic background is correlated with career success. moreResolved Question: What do you think of Windows 7?

I was looking at the studio 14 and the xps 16 by dell. They all come out to be near the same price 1200 range, when I add everything together to make them similar. The only thing that I like about the xps over the studio 14 is that it has the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5730 while the 14 has the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5450. The xps does weigh more and use more battery though. Plus I don't know if 16inch is too big to carry around everywhere. Now my birthday is coming up soon so I have been thinking about what I want lately. I am a gamer, PC user, and a home theater enthusiast. I have been thinking about the following options. A PS2, PS3, LED LCD TV, netbook, stand alone Blu Ray player, or a Wii. I like the PS2's library of games and it is a cheap console. The PS3 is a powerful piece of machinery but I would only buy 4 games in total for it which I would rarely play (LBP!/2, Mod Nation Racers, Folklore). I would like a new TV because my current TV is outdated and I even find myself playing most of my media on my PC monitor. I would like a netbook to browse the web on the go and around the house which I happen to do a lot. Also, I like to play around with its hardware and software to make it more efficient. I would buy a stand alone Blu Ray player for the DVD up conversion and I plan to start a library of movies soon. Lastly I would like a Wii for casual games and possibly soft modding it, but I could stick to my emulators on my PC. By Budget is around $400-600 so I would like your opinions and thoughts. Let me give you the main storyline. I am 14 years old, Male. I have never had a girlfriend, or dated, or anything like that. In the eighth grade, this girl joined my class in September. The teacher instructed me to show her what to do in his classroom, Which I did. The next day she started to flirt with me, since this is the first time anyone has, I was a bit both of shocked and nervous. I didn't know what to say, she made me laugh once and then she told me that she liked my laugh. So we continued to flirt for about another 4 months, (yes that long). I would have asked her out but I am a very very shy person. ( Just to make sure were on the right page here, She is very beautiful, But that's not the the only reason I want to see her.) The first 4 months of flirting were basically just winks. the next 3 months were blowing kisses. The last few months of school were telling each-other "I love you" and yes, I know that it seemed to early to be saying that but you can hopefully understand that it was flirting, I also bought her some gifts and so on. On the last day of school, while walking back to go home, I saw her waiting for one of her friends, I just looked away and kept walking, I guess I was just ashamed of myself for not asking her out earlier. I ran back to that tree after I came to my senses and she was gone. I knew she was going to the local recreation center, most people were on the last day of school. I would have went there myself but I had to be picked up. Worst mistake of my life so far. I recently found out she had a Myspace, I checked her "Form spring" which is a site connected with other social networking sites that allows you're friends to ask questions about you. Anyway, I checked her form spring and one of the questions were "Have you ever been in love? Her response, "I thought I was but no". I knew that it was about me, Just by the sound of it. She apparently already has some experience, she has been with 35 or so people. I have been with none. Anyway, I would go on but I don't want to bore any of you with my life-story. But, I do care about her, and I really wanted to make things right, and since Myspace has this neat little thing where you can send messages to friends of friends. I decided to make a video, to show her that I still care about her, And that I think about her everyday, I miss her. I want her to know what I didn't tell her. I want to make things right, She is not going to the same school I'm going to next year. But I want to let her know that I would like to know her someplace other than school. And that I feel lost without her. I am a very sensitive person, so please don't tell me to let things go.. I'm planning on doing a commentary on the beginning of the video to tell her how much she means to me. And that I still miss her and I still think about her. then the next part I chose a song (That reminded me most of and how I felt about Her.) to add lyrics and music to the video at the end. The song I chose was, 98-degrees: I do (cherish you). But I was also thinking about, Jed medela: Only reminds me of you, or 98-degrees My Everything. But the main question is: Is this a good idea? What should I start off with in the commentary? What is the most appropriate way of telling her how I feel? When should I send her the video when I'm done with it? How long should I try to make the video? Do you think I should add one of her photo's and mine? I got her's from her unused Facebook Profile picture. We are a pretty small congregation (around 100 people) and we're wanting to start recording our services to post online for some of our members that are either home bound or stationed somewhere in the military and can't be at our services. We're have a pretty small budget and aren't wanting to create something extraordinary and emmy winning. We were planning on just having one camera mounted on the ceiling in the center aisle of the church, pointing at the pulpit. We were going to get one of the joy stick controllers for the panning and zooming, and sending the feed to a laptop to be saved and later uploaded. The problem is no one any video recording experience and aren't sure what all we need or what type of software is needed. So basically, we're looking for 1 camera and wanting to know what kind would be the best. The joystick used to control it, and what type of software we would need to save it to the computer. The last thing is the question about the audio. We have a lapel mic and it's hooked up to a soundboard. Would we be able to use the audio feed and video feed together when recording. I realize this is a lot to try to explain via the internet but any help would be extremely appreciated. Also, we're wanting to stay withing a budget of $1,000 to $2,000. What's has better performance, memory, speed, coolness and all theawesomee features. All answers would be muchappreciatedd. This is a verydifficultt choice for me. Both seem really cool. I'm looking to get a new computer in about 2 months (for my b'day) but I'm having trouble trying to find the one I would like. I'm having a few difficulties, one I'm trying to keep it below $1000, more like $850 would be nice. I've looked at Dell mostly, due to my almost 6-year old Dimension 4700's been good to me for the most part, though if I can get more for the money from a different brand I'm not complaining. . My main purposes for the computer are games (Runescape, Guildwars, Unreal, Farcry), movies, and music which my current computer does fairly well on low-medium settings, but it being 6-years old its been getting some irritating problems which I "can" fix for awhile, but they come back after a few days/weeks so I'm tired of fixing them...And windows 7 looks nicer than Xp, plus I've been avoiding some things because my computer just can't handle it... Current computer's running on Windows Xp Sp3, 2GB Ram, 81GB Hard Drive. Busted floppy drive (who cares) and a really glitchy CD Burner. I just built this one on dell.com to see how much it would cost, its not bad, the only thing I really feel isn't what I want is probably the Video Card. Main answers I'm looking for are as follows: 1. What Brand is best for their price (Dell, Hp, Alienware, etc)? 2. Which system is best for value (xps, Dimension 4xxx, etc)? 3. Recommended specs (is 8GB of ram really helpful, quad processor vs duel)? 4. Whenever it inevitably gets a problem can I just keep everything on my 1.5TB external Hard Drive and restart it from factory, or will that have some disadvantages? 5. Anything you would suggest that I didn't mention? Oh, and I want a desktop...I really hate laptops...I already have a nice monitor, so I really don't want something that includes one.. Thanks everyone! Ok, I'm considering getting a new laptop. I've had way too many issues with Hp laptops. Im considering a Sony Vaio Z or a macbook pro 15. here are the specs im thinking of getting -antiglare screen -256 gb ssd - 4 gb memory -2.4 ghz core i5 my questions are, how is the battery life. since you cant remove the battery or really care for it does the battery deteriorate quickly. When im home i always remove the battery from my laptop, hence i get 4.5 hours battery life even after 2 years. is there any bloatware (i assume no). is it easy to remove stored files, cookies, utilities and LBO's on a mac, in windows cc cleaner does the trick (you would be suprised how much tracking utilities most websites leave) i will purchase an internet security software, but has anyone used them on mac's and how well do they function. does the laptop get hot easily and how is apple's protection plan? moreResolved Question: Is this a good Alienware laptop?

I've an Dell Inspiron 1545 (running on vista Home) which i bought in August 2009. I'm doing my bachelors and thereby have an IT project. My lecturer installed Sun virtualbox and installed the software (Visual studio and visual basic) needed for the project on it. (I had to use a virtual as i could not install MySQL server 2005 on my vista home). Day before yesterday i got a message "Windows has detected a hard disk error" and the two options are "backup your files" and 'ask me later". In "more details" it says windows has detected your hard disk C,E are about to fail. I got a computer guy to check it and he says its because of the virtualbox, that it has altered the original vista files. I've got a presentation on 19 july 2010 and my project is installed in it. I'm planning on keeping my laptop as it is till the 19. Does this error message really appear due to my OS being corrupt or is it because my Hard disk is failing.... I've only one set of the original software cds with the serial numbers on them. If i reinstall will this be solved? i don't want to use the cds if i'll have the same problem again so to reinstall the second time means i'll have to get new software cds.. I hope i was clear.....Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: What is the best freeware or inexpensive home design or remodel software?

I need it becuase I plan on recording music (pop) and want to do a demo at home considering I don't have much money so i can't afford a real studio at the time. But I want the program to have the music on it and I'll decide the tempos and thinks like that. i already know how i want the music to sound but can't play an instrument myself. I'd also like the program to allow to allow vocal editing as well. I can sing for the most part pretty well. But I will admit somethings need a little editing here and there. But I believe I'm good enough to sing live. Just when it's an album it needs to sound better. So is there any software out there? I saw one at best buy but it was like $60.00. I want to know if there is one cheaper. Please leave links if you can. Thank you soo much. moreVoting Question: best 3d home design software?
