Resolved Question: Locals and frequent visitors: Can you help me plan an itinerary?
I will be in SF from April 9-14 and I need some "must do" ideas. This is the second time I have been to the city so I've already done Alcatraz, and toured around Fisherman's Wharf but that was about it as I was only there for 3 days last time. Is the zoo worth seeing? How about Sausalito? Best place to see the REALLY giant redwoods (I've heard they're not the biggest at Muir Woods, so I don't mind driving further)? How about your favorite restaurants? Anything really that you can think of would be most appreciated! moreResolved Question: Can someone recommend a reputable wine/Muir woods tour company out of San Francisco?
I'd like to do some comparison shopping. We're looking for a good day trip tour out of San Francisco- preferably with hotel pickup, that will take us to Muir woods and wine tasting. moreResolved Question: Help! I am going to San Francisco on a first date and it's going to be RAINING! Ideas for fun activities?
So I'm going on a first date with a guy and we are spending the day in San Francisco because he has never been there. Unfortunately it is going to be raining and windy, so we won't be able to walk around the city much or on the Golden Gate, or hike at Muir woods like we wanted to (we prefer outdoor activities). It looks like the Exploratorium is an option, and maybe a closed bus tour of the city, but what are some other ideas for other fun things to do? HELP!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!! moreResolved Question: Urgent help traveling to San Francisco?
I'm traveling from Australia to San Francisco later this November for 13 days and i found out that the people that i was thinking of staying with didn't really have much accessible public transport to San Francisco as they live just far out enough. I really would love to discover SF and sites such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Muir woods. I love beautiful scenery and am interested in the bay cruise too. Yosemite is another beautiful place. Because i don't want to spend 13 days in a nearly excluded area, i was wondering if there are any tours that are around 7-10 days or so, even if they explore San Francisco and surrounding areas in California, as long as the final destination is SF. Thanks for any help. moreResolved Question: HELP ME PLZ!!!!!!!! 7th Grade Math!!!!?

I went to San Francisco about 6 months ago and picked up a lot of the tourist brochures. I remember picking one up that said something about a steam train ride and I believe it was for muir woods. It may have been a little kiddy steam train or a full fledged one but i cant find it. moreResolved Question: What is the best wine tour company to go with when visiting San Francisco. I ordered a tour in San Francisco online. It was the Muir Woods+Alcatraz tour. I selected the option prepaid and just received a confirmation letter saying I was booked in a City tour+Alcatraz. I checked and the tours a re non-refundable and non-changable. I remember ordering and thinking it was weird that when it came to confirm card details it was written as City tour even though I definately choose the Woods tour. Is there anything legally I can do or am I stuck with this tour I don't want?? I emailed the company and have received no reply :-( moreResolved Question: Car rental day trip near San Francisco?

Just wanted to get peoples opinions on some things we plan on doing in San Francisco for 4 days. Any advice on what more we should do is welcomed. Well we will be staying at the Embassy Suites on Gateway in S. S.F. We have 3 kids so a suite is a must. How far is that from anything? Also we plan on taking the double decker around town, going to Muir Woods...how interesting is that? And of course my husband wants to visit Alcatraz. Sould we do the night tour or is the others just as good. My kids aren't easily frightened so the spookier the better for me. moreResolved Question: Know of interesting things to do that are not the usual tourist stuff?
I've been to San Francisco many times (at least 20 times) and have done all the usual major and minor touristy stuff...Golden Gate Park, Presidio Park, walked over the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, crooked street, embassy area, Coit Tower (back when you use to be able to walk up the stairs), cable cars, North Beach, Ghiradelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Alcatraz, Berkeley, Candlestick, touring the historic cathedrals, etc. My ex-husband's family all live in the east bay area, so I know all that stuff too (hiking Mt. Diablo, etc.) Have also been all over Napa and Sonoma and Muir Woods and Mt. Tam etc. I will be using public transit only as not planning to rent a car. I'll be in town Nov 28 thru Dec 3 with my boyfriend while he's playing in a bridge tournament. Until he looses, I'll be on my own, touring during the day. Any ideas for something new to see or check into? I am not all that interested in shopping. moreResolved Question: Transportation to Muir Wood, CA?
I am planning to go to Muir Wood, CA this summer. I don;t want tour buses with time ristriction. So if I drive from SF, what is the best time to get there to avoid crowd and congestion (in/out of the City)? Is the parking situation terrible at Muir Wood? I have the parkingphobia (worrying if I can get a spot!) Thanks!! moreResolved Question: Is there any public buses that go to Muir Woods? If not, how much is a taxi to go there?
I didn't like any of the Muir Woods tours I checked online. Most of them spend no more than an hour in the woods. So I thought maybe I can take the bus of a taxi there and walk around by myself; is that possible. I am also thinking about doing the same in regard to Alcatraz; what do you guys recommend? This could be the only time I visit San Francisco, so I really appreciate any help I can get. moreResolved Question: I am going to San Francisco in a couple of days, and I wanna know the best company to get a tour to Muir Woods
