If I won a million dollars I would be so very happy. The veery first thing I would do would be to buy a house for my mom... cash. no mortgage. It would'nt have to be a very big house, but it would have to have a lot of storgage for my mom and I have a lot of "stuff". There would be money left over. So I would buy a car for me. Not an expensive one but one that was in good shape. Maybe a VW convertible. The third thing would be to set money aside to pay the tuition so my mom could get her masters degree. i would want to also put money away in savings. I would have to bufget the money very carefull but I gurure I couold save at least half for a rainy day. The balance of the money would go to charity, perferable to a family with kids who need it. -------------------- I have had many perfect vacations and I would love to repeat them. I have eben to Hawaii, alaska, nw york, pennsylvania, the grand canyon, mexicon, sedona, florida and china. My next "perfect" vacation would be one of two places. Manhatton (new York) to see more broadway plays, and vistit the museums ( i was young when i was last there ) I love the city and would consider living there when I am older. and because I was born in germany, I ould like very much to spend a few week there. i would see the german hospital where I was born, visit the barn were my moms horse lived and dies, vista all teh places I visited when i was very little ( and now cant remeber). I would tour bamberg where my mom dad and I lived. I would also want to drive to prague since I was 2 the last time I was there and all i have are the pictures. I would like to also rent a car and drive on the autobahn, while visiting bambergs castles and churches. Thanks so much for your help. I will award 10 points for best answer. I am a Chicagoan living in Prague. I want to go with a buddy somewhere warm, with SOFT sand beaches, great weather, and very comfortable hotels. Additionally I want a place large enough that there is something to do at night. I was on the (beautiful) Greek island of Thassos last year. The problem? Absolutely nothing to do at night. It had occurred to me that we could visit two places, but the package deals they sell here are way, way, way cheaper than what I could put together myself, so that's not an option. However, if I visited an island like Rhodes, perhaps they would have day trips to another island. (although that wasn't the case in Thassos)Uhhh.... did anyone read I want GOOD BEACHES? That kind of excludes Paris, folks. I'm thinking Santorini, Rhodes, or some place in or around Greece, Turkey, or Italy. But I can't find the right combination. Remember: 1) soft sand beaches 2) nice hotels 3) not too small; something to do at nightCan anyone give me SPECIFIC places: hotels, beaches, etc. ?????????? Hi, I am going on exchange to France for one year, and I plan to travel around Europe while I am there (mostly weekend and holiday trips plus the summer vacation) I want to do the budget thing, living in hostels, and traveling by discount airlines or train, my goal would be to visit most countries in europe, and see the capital cities as well as the major historical sites... i plan to go to every country in western Europe/Scandinavia, plus some countries in eastern europe (prague, budapest, krakow, warsaw, moscow, st. petersburg, odessa) and the balkans, (croatia, greece) as well as north africa (morocco, tunisia, egypt) and the near east (turkey, syria, lebanon, jordan) would 10,000 euros be a realistic budget? 15,000? i am living with my parents and working all year in order to save up, if needed, i'll borrow from my parents as well. moreResolved Question: Would you prefer Prague/Rome for a vacation, or Venice/Rome, Or Rome/Florence?

I am looking for recommendations for a holiday vacation for an american elderly couple - they are looking for places with a lot of history and tourism activities - with very safe environments and hopefully some English-speaking capability at tourist places of interest. They are interested in the area east of Switzerland (Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Poland, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, etc, etc). If you had to suggest your top 3-5 cities to visit, which would they be and why? moreResolved Question: What does Obama think about D-Day?
On June 6, 1944, the American invasion of Nazi-controlled Europe began on the beaches of Normandy. Thousands of American men were killed in a single day. But in April of 2009, Barack Hussein Obama dishonored the memory of those fallen men by refusing to visit Normandy on his European trip. Why did he do it, you ask? Because he didn’t want to offend Germany. You see, his European vacation has been very carefully calculated. He spends so much time in France, so much time in Germany, just enough in each case to stroke the egos of Europe’s neo-Marxist heads of state. And so because he had already spent time in Paris, the city of lights, the world capital of fashion, he didn’t want to come back on the way home. Germany might look poorly on it if he paid France an extra visit. Obama is trying to be president of the world. And this is just another example of him misplacing his priorities. For Americans, the beaches at Normandy in France are hallowed ground. Tens of thousands of our men shed their blood in this invasion in a fight against tyranny and despotism. In a fight which Americans of this generation couldn’t begin to make. President Reagan went there during his administration. Going there isn’t even really a foreign trip. It’s a trip to honor America’s fallen heroes. And though Obama is willing to whine and dine the French in Paris, though he’s a crowd pleaser in Prague, though he sounds terrific to the Turks, when it comes to Normandy, he’s nobody. moreResolved Question: Do you think it is unfair to ask my wife to make a buget for an upcoming short vacation to DC?
We will be driving to DC. Packing lunches ect, maybe staying with her sister to save money. The only reason I ask, is we are in CC debt to the tune of 15K, I get a decent bonus each year and we pay our taxes so we get about 5-10k back each year too. But we always use it to knock down our debt. I am sick of living in debt and I want my wife to pay more attention to the money going in vs out so we can live within our means. I understand asking her to make a budget can be conceived as condesending, but I would like to make a budget and hold to it, otherwise a $400 trip can easily spiral into 1K. I don't think we should go anyways. My and I repeat MY sister is moving to Prague with baby girl (about 2 years old) and her boyfriend/fiance/significant jerky other for about 1 to 3 years in the spring. My wife thinks we , her and our thre boys need to make the trip to DC before she goes. Probably cheaper for my sister to come and visit us. Her boyfirend probably would not come, so even cheaper still. Don't get me wrong I am close to my sister, my wife is too, but when you can't afford to do something, you don't do it. At least with the budget, Ill know what it'll cost and try hard to maintain the cost to the budget. Otherwise, we will be get there and just blow cash like Bernie Madoff. One bit more of the history, my wife stoped working recently and I am pleased about that, since the business she was in has added up to 100K in debt on our books for a barely visible salary. My wife refuses to do a badget and says if I want a budget I can do one, one piece of information, my wife already took a 10 day vacation to Arizona against my adment disagreement. I know this is totally one sided veiw, but for christ sake she is killing me. moreResolved Question: Where can I go for the 4-day Easter weekend?

I was born here. My father was born in Greece but he wasn't around to teach me the culture, so I don't speak the language or go to Greece for 2 months for vacation. This is why Greek people reject me. My mother is American born and her ancestors were from Sicily and Prague. She is more American and she raised me and that is what I am. SO HERE IS THE PROBLEM: When people ask me where I am from, I say Im American. Then they say, but no, I mean whats ur background, I tell them and they say "How is that possible?". My friend is vacationing in Croatia, Prague, Germany and I think maybe Poland. I know there are a lot of pickpockets there. He's with a ton of friends (maybe 9 other people), some of whom are seasoned travellers. They are young guys, but are not likely to try to get in trouble with anyone (they might drink, but they wouldn't try to steal something.) Anyway I haven't heard from my friend in 5 days. He has no computer with him and there are not that many internet cafes, also he is travelling a lot and has gone this long without an email before. I'm 18 and I have a brother who is 28. Before he met his current girlfriend a year ago, he used to take me with him when he went on vacations. We went to Prague, San Francisco, Montreal, Jamaica, and Spain. He also spent a lot of time with me on the weekends, going to movies, the beach, stuff like that. After he met his girlfriend, he stopped taking me places but instead took her. I gradually became more and more disconnected with him as time went on. We still go to the movies and hang out every other weekend, but sometimes he likes to bring his girlfriend along. I really hate her. Even though she is nice to me and everything, I feel like she stole a brother and a friend from me. You can say I've become jealous. Last month she took him to Mexico City, and this week they are in Morocco, seeing all kinds of cool stuff. Sometimes my jealousy turns into rage, and I feel like doing bad things to both of them.
