I'm gonna have a super busy senior year so I'm trying to write some college essays now before things get too crazy. However, I can't find the required essay for San Diego State University. I live in Maryland btw, so I can't really take a campus tour and ask (I took the tour last year). Thank you soo much! I need help ha. I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row. I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty Minute Brownies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru. Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Mets. I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge. I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat .400. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me. I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me. I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four-course meals using only a Mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prizewinning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis. But I have not yet gone to college. moreResolved Question: What was your best taxi ride?
A few hours ago txteacher asked a question about worst taxi rides. My question looks at the opposite side. We have traveled by small aircraft for many years to remote locations. When we arrive we either need to walk or take a taxi to our destination, and we have had a few unique ones. At Lac La Biche in Alberta, Canada, the ambulance doubled as a taxi to take us on a tour of the local area and a stop for groceries and dinner at a local cafe. In Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, Canada, the taxi driver took us out on the tundra to see Musk Ox (now that's an unusual animal). In San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico, the taxi driver not only gave us a ride to the nearby jungle, but arranged for a boat he could use to take us up the river to a nature center that specialized in crocodile research. I admit, these taxis are really remote and they may serve a different type of customer, but I am sure you have some other memorable experiences. moreOpen Question: Does Kat Williams tour anymore?

This is going to be our first cruise and were looking for suggestions on what there is to do onboard. Were both 23. Our ports of calls are Half Moon Cay, San Juan, St Thomas and Grand Turk. Should we bring anything with us in case we get board? What should we wear on formal nights? moreVoting Question: Why did Commissioner Goodell snub the Cowboys in his 2010 NFL training camp tour?
I have a hunch Commissioner Goodell skipped San Antonio because of all the obvious questions he would have received from the local media regarding San Antonio and the NFL. It is well known now that San Antonio is after its own NFL team and coming to SA would have distracted the focus of the media from the Dallas Cowboys and their training camp. Can you think of another reason? moreResolved Question: I only need the last two , please help !?
Okay before youre like whoa this chick is crazy , I only need the answers to OCT.1 and OCT. 3 . I got the rest myself but im completely stuck on these two . Theyre also the two that have the two "**" before the date . Today, the first cards have arrived. After supper, your neighbors gather outside and start passing the cards around. You and Pat take a look at them. There are no pictures! One side of each is blank except for an address. The other side has a handwritten message, but no cities or countries are named. From what city and country did the Wiltons write each postcard? Hint: Use an atlas and encyclopedia to find the answers. A dictionary might help too. The cards read as follows: Sept 12: Hi, everybody! Guess where we are? That's right, we want you to guess. Here's a clue: We've spent two days in the largest city of this island country. Must dash-Big Ben says it's time for lunch! Sept 14: What country are we in now? A really beautiful one. We sailed through a fjord and hiked on a glacier yesterday. Now we're in the capital, once named after King Christian IV. Sept 18: Traveled south and arrived today in the town associated closely with Hans Christian Andersen. Weather here a bit rainy, but we're having too much fun to care! Sept 22: Just flew to this place on the Main River; it's Hesse's largest city. We enjoyed touring the Romer, a town hall built in the 1400s! Sept 23: Now have firsthand proof that the Jungfrau is the loveliest mountain in the Alps. Right now, we're in the capital of this country. Sept 24: Through Brenner Pass to Europe's leading cultural center. Breathtaking city! Also home of Johann Strauss, Jr., and the waltz. Sept 26: Gondolas are the way to go! Most of the people living here use motorboats, though. Right now, we're taking a break in the Piazza San Marco. **Oct 1: We're starting the last leg of our trip. Good thing! We're on our last legs! We sailed between Corsica and Sardinia to this Mediterranean port in the second-largest country in Western Europe. We're about 75 miles south of the French border, but we're not in France! **Oct 3: Spending our last day in western-most country of continental Europe. We fly home from its capital tonight. See you soon! From what city and country did the Wiltons write each postcard? Hint: Use an atlas and encyclopedia to find the answers. A dictionary might help too moreResolved Question: My itinerary for Los Angeles.......................…..........................................................?

Me and my cousin are going on a roadtrip in a year or so and we are going to California (from Louisiana). It's a 33 hour drive, because we're passing through Oklahoma and Utah and Nevada and all that so we can visit landmarks. We are planning to stay in Cali for about 2 weeks. The first week in the San Fran - Sacramento area and the next by Los Angeles and all the good stuff. We are going to Disneyland and Universal as well. On the way back we are leaving a different way, and going through Vegas, spending a night there, then going to the grand canyon and then leaving. A lot of things we are doing are just sightseeing, but there's also the things like amusement parks, tours, and the hotel cost. I'm 15 and my cousin is 20 and turning 21 in October so we will be able to stay in the hotels and all. But after a year of saving I will have around $1,000. How much do you think I will need, and whats some good ways for me to make some extra money I can spend on souvenirs and just shopping?? Thank you veeeeeery much! moreResolved Question: About how much money should i need for this?

Hi. My husband and I are going to San Francisco and will be staying there for 3 days. We have researched different options of exploring the city, and found that wharf pass and city pass would be the two best options for us. Now we need to decide which one to pick, and it seems hard, so I decided to ask the question on-line. Here is the break-up of costs: 1) Wharf Pass is $61 but does not include the muni passport, which we would have to buy for $20 a person since we well be using public transportation. 2) City Pass is $64 and does include a 7-day muni passport which means we won't have to pay for it separately. I would have settled on City Pass but in comparison to Wharf Pass, it does not include any sight-seeing tours with a guide, which is a priority for me and my husband. Aside from that, I would like to find out from the people who have experienced San Francisco and its tours, which pass would be more fun to use, and whether it's worth or not to pay extra for muni passports with wharf pass? Thanks in advance for your responses! moreResolved Question: Question about Los Angeles subway and where to stay?
I'm arriving at LAX and would like to take the subway from there as in any other big city. The subway system doesn't seem to be all that big though. I was thinking of heading from downtown from there and stay there in a hotel. I saw that I would have to take the green line and get off at Wilmington or Compton. From there I would have to take the subway to downtown at night. I'm from Europe, so I'm not sure what areas there are good or bad. They always say that neighborhoods in the US vary a lot. But I'm assuming that the subway line should be ok. I read about Santa Monica before in my travel guide, but I don't see the subway going there. Should I just spend my first night close to Wilmington or Compton if I find a hotel there? It's kind of on the way to downtown and I wouldn't want to look for a hotel in downtown around midnight. I'm a backpacker who wants to tour around a little before leaving to San Francisco. moreResolved Question: Would you travel without your girlfriend/boyfriend if travelling makes them anxious (and sick)?
I met a nice girl after many years of being single and have been generally happy - when I met her she said she had always dreamed of traveling so I was excited to organize a trip abroad to Rio - she didn't seem as excited as I was but didn't say she's too scared to travel. We spent 4 days in Rio - she couldn't keep anything down even toast, or a coke - so we canceled all the tours and came back not having seen much besides the hotel and airport. She said it must have been something she ate in Rio that made her sick. So six months later I planned our next trip to San Francisco and this time some other illness came up when we got there - she stayed in hotel room the whole time we were there and wouldn't see a doctor. Maybe she just got unlucky twice - but she's pretty healthy when we stay home - I think she's just anxious when she travels. I used to travel alone before I met her and I'm thinking that instead of breaking up with her - I should travel on my own and hang out with her when I'm home - would that be unloving on my part? moreResolved Question: does anyone know what bands are playing for warped tour in san diego 2010?

Hi Guys, We are a couple visiting Costa Rica for the first time in September. We will be staying at the Tabacon resort for 5 nights and renting a 4WD with GPS. Here is an itinerary that I have drawn up please tell me if you think I am being unrealistic about what we can do/not do during that time especially considering it is the peak of rainy season at that time and we want to explore Costa Rica on our own and want to avoid spending money on tour companies. So here is the plan: 09/10/210 Arrive in San Jose at 7:20pm. Planning on staying the night in an airport hotel in San Jose 09/11/2010 •Leave for Tabacon Resort at 6am. Stopping on the way at Sarchi and for brunch. Get to Tabacon by 10am. •10-11am figure out rooms etc, make tour and spa reservations and leave our luggage with the reception people and check out La Fortuna waterfall. •Have Dinner in La Fortuna and then explore the hot springs in the resort 09/12/2010 •Leave for Monteverde at 5:30am. Get there by 9:30am with a few photo stops on the way. •9:30am – 2:30pm we were thinking of exploring Monteverde by ourselves and doing the Skywalk. Do we need a tour guide? Is 5 hours enough time? •2:30pm -6:00pm Drive back to La Fortuna area. Have food and then soak in the hot springs at the resort 09/13/2010 •Early morning hike to Arenal Volcano. Not sure if exploring Venado caves in the rainy season is a good idea especially since we I can’t swim. •Was thinking of doing Canyoning or Sky Trek. Any suggestions/experience which one is better? •Get a couples massage at the Grand Spa in the resort and relax for the rest of the day 09/14/2010 •Cano Negro boat tour •Evening relax by the pool and have dinner and if the sky is clear do a night hike to Arenal Volcano 09/15/2010 •Early morning Arenal hanging bridges, trails and waterfall. •Lunch •Soak in hot springs •Dinner and relax •Night hike to Arenal if not raining 09/16/2010 Our flight is at 11:55am out of San Jose airport. We are planning on leaving Tabacon resort by 6:30am to make sure we have enough time to get to the airport, return the car and check-in for our flight. •Does this itinerary sound reasonable? •We love fruits and would love to experience authentic Costa Rican food. Any suggestions/recommendations for activities and food will be appreciated. •Any recommendation of things to buy to bring back home? Thank you very much for your suggestions and recommendations. We already have 5 nights reservation in Tabacon. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me. I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends to let off steam I participate in full contact origami. Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a toaster oven. I breed prize winning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff diving competitions in montevideo, and spelling bees in bulgaria. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open heart surgery and I have spoken with Elvis. I am strange but definetly not a stranger to you. moreResolved Question: How interesting is Milan as a tourist destination?
I know it's not on the scale of Rome, but would there be enough interesting things to fill about three full days? I'm not really that interested in museums, rather street level things, architecture, sights etc Can you do tours of the San Siro, like you can at the Nou Camp and the Bernebeu? moreResolved Question: Suggestions for travel for Austin or Fredericksburg, TX?
My husband and I just moved from NC to Houston and before we moved had this tradition of going to the Blue Ridge mountains for our anniversary in October/November...Gatlinburg, Asheville, Boone, etc. We are looking for something similar to do around this area. I figured I'd get the opinion of others familiar with Texas travel. We've thought about Austin, San Antonio, Fredricksburg, whatever is considered "hill country"... We''d like to stay somewhere like a lodge or maybe a romantic but rustic B & B. We like small town shopping, dining, outdoor fall festivals, wineries, some touristy mountain attractions/historic tours, scenic driving for leaves changing... I am looking for recommendations for that type of trip. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Biking the coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles?
I have been looking online for bike tours that start around S.F. and bike down PCH to L.A. Would love to do that but I could afford to stay in motels at night, and I'm not young and my camping days are over. Any suggestions?? moreResolved Question: Should I book a bay cruise tour now, or will I still be able to purchase tickets the day of the tour?
I will be in San Francisco for 2 days only and have reserved a segway tour the first day. It begins at about 12:15 and will end about 3:00 ish. I also want to see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, but don't have lots of time to spend in the same area. I was thinking that I would take a Blue and Gold Bay Cruise that circles the area so that I can have a closer look than from the shoreline. But, these tours are from 11:30 - 3:15 only, so I would have to go back the the Wharf area again the 2nd day, and this concerns me about being able to see all the other SF sites. So, If I wait to see the weather and the time it takes to do everything. will I still be able to go on the bay tour at the last moment? (weekdays) moreResolved Question: what city is closer San Diego California or Pomona California?

I want to plan my time in San Francisco and am wondering about the length of time it will take to get from one place to the next. 1. How many minutes will it take to go from Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf, and How much of that time is taking into account the lines? (Weekdays) It's important so I won't be late for my prepaid tours. 2. Also, I plan to buy a Muni pass at SFO, I can just get on the cable cars wherever I want, as long as it is a regular stop Right? Or do I have to go the the beginning of the line? 3. And, I've been told there are long lines to get on all the Cable Cars. Will the long lines affect me any when getting on the Cable Cars from one line to change to another?I do want to take cable cars as this will be part of my sight seeing, or tourist activities. I'm mostly concerned with the length of the lines and the wait time-during a weekday. The answer about the ride taking 15 minutes from beginning to end is what I was looking for. Does anyone have recent experience during a weekday riding the cable cars and the wait time? thanksStill wondering: if I can hop on at the Westin St. Francis and avoid the lines at the beginning of the route on Market Street? moreResolved Question: Paramore Honda Civic Tour?

I'm going to be a senior in high school next year, and Pitzer College is my dream school. I toured it last spring and fell completely in love with it, but the Claremonts are ridiculously hard to get in to - Pitzer's acceptance rate is less than 25%. Can anyone who works in admissions or who got accepted into a Claremont let me know if I stand a chance? I have a 3.84 cumulative GPA. I scored 2070 on my SAT (760 reading, 720 writing, 590 math) I got a 4 on the AP World History test and 5's on the AP English Language & Composition and the AP U.S. History tests. I'm taking five AP classes next year (French, Calculus AB, English Literature, Biology, and Economics). I'm active in my Youth Group and go on mission trips every summer to build houses on an Indian Reservation and every fall to hand out homeless kits and work in the food bank in San Francisco. I've played softball for the past three years and plan on playing it my senior year. I was in the fall play last year and I'm planning on doing it again this fall. I work in the nursery at my church every Sunday. I'm currently working at the box office at a movie theater. Do I stand a chance? I feel like my GPA and my SAT math score aren't high enough to get in... moreResolved Question: Alcatraz Tours Sold Out?

I want to create an itinerary for the short period of two complete weekdays (and the first evening) in San Francisco. These are the places/things I'd like to do: For sight seeing Ghiradelli Square Fisherman's Wharf Hyde Street and the other piers the market (I forgot the name) where so many vendors have all sorts of fresh foods-Embarcadero? the crooked part of Lombard Street Chinatown I want to see the Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz, but don't want to tie up too much time for the actual tour where one goes inside- a water tour maybe? the victorian homes -Is it the Painted Ladies? For relaxation and experiences City Lights Bookstore beatnicks? Cafes and all Buena Vista Cafe, Vesuvius, Tosca, Cafe Triste, Cafe Greco, Cafe Grappa, Mario's bohemian Cigar Store, (maybe Dotties) And somewhere for drinks, piano, jazz, or anything else suggested I plan to purchase a 3 day Muni pass at the Airport and use the cable cars for transportation to and from my hotel in Union Square. I can use the bus also if necessary. My challenge is knowing which activities to clump together based on location, and the time it will take to do these things, such as day 1 morning, afternoon, and evening, day 2... Can anyone help me break it down?Oh, I forgot -I'm going to make reservations to take a Segway tour of Fisherman's Wharf for the first afternoon.Update: I booked a Segway tour of the waterfront in the Fisherman's Wharf area that will take place at 12:30 pm. (until 3:00). I wanted to get the 2:00, but it was closed. So, what can I do before that tour that morning, that is small and doesn't take much time, so as to not repeat what I will see in the tour? And then, I will have the next full day free. moreTop San Tour Links
