Just to give out notes: I'm a 14-year-old American girl, I live in Italy,my school starts in tomorrow, and I'll be a freshman. My school will be inviting Italian teens from Italian schools this year because they have done it last year. Sometimes in the month the students who wish to visit an Italian school will visit their and the students who wished to become a tour guider for the Italian students will have the Italian students visiting our school and have a tour around. I remember last year a 14-year-old Italian boy came to visit my school in Vicenza and he first came in Language Art class. I never knew his name, but he had golden curly hair, wore a long sleeved blue collar shirt, black pants, and light brown eyes. He was so cute when I saw him!! I was nervous to greet him or be friends with him because I was afraid he wouldn't reply back to me or thought I was a weirdo. After that was math class. We had an Italian girl visiting; I was also nervous talking to her because of the same reason. She was in my group and I hardly looked or talked to her. At the month of May, we had another Italian boy (we'll call him Boy 2) visiting in our humanity class. He was also cute. In humanity class last year, many students were misbehaving and showed no respect to the teacher. I was considered bashful, well-behaved, and very respectal last year. The class, along with the Italian boy, was watching a film Hamlet, and many students were misbehaving and talking during the movie. The Italian boy wasn't next to me--- he instead was sitting with a bunch of girls who were talking and always giggling. For the third time, I couldn't bring myself to talk to Boy#2 because I was afraid he'll think American girls are weird. It's like whenever I see them at lunch, library, P.E., or whatever, I'll always avoid them. I do speak Italian very fluently and I'm still learning. I want to interact with them because I've always want to have foreign friends. The only Italian people I've met that are not teenagers are two women who are my neighbors and a lady who works at a small giro store that my dad and I always go. Please no rude or stupid answers, grazie molte.Yeaahhhh, Dadaw Dadaw. Like that'll take interest for them. :\ moreResolved Question: Unique vacation in Italy?

Next summer I am travelling Europe with a friend for a month or so and we've opted to do it on our own, as opposed to a tour group. We're investing in rail passes, guidebooks, etc. -- but I'm just starting preliminary planning and research right now, and wanted to know what country to start in / which route would be best to begin? I will be in England, and she will be flying from Canada to meet me - so we're thinking of starting in either Scotland or Ireland --- we eventually want to see both. We want to work our way "across' Europe. Here are the countries we wish to visit: Ireland Scotland Spain France Germany Italy Greece Netherlands and possibly Sweden. Which order should we visit these in to make travelling the easiest? (ie. shortest time and/or distance between countries) Thanks! moreResolved Question: NEKOCON?!?!? ANIME USA?!?!? HETALIA!!!!! Hi There I am a researcher working on a series of documentaries to be released in the run up to next years Rugby World Cup. We are making a programme on all of the countries that will compete in the tournament. Each of the episodes will be structured around Rugby culture in each of the countries and will focus on both amateur and professional teams. Essentially each episode will feature a presenter meeting individuals and teams who do something interesting and different in relation to Rugby, examples of this would be- -A team who train with lifeguards in New Zealand -A team from Fiji who take part in fire walking as a bonding exercise -A motivational speaker from Australia who uses martial arts training to inspire and infuse teams. -Teams taking part in charity events such as marathons. -Tour/Match stories from fans I am looking for interesting/humorous/inspiring stories relating to Rugby from- Argentina Australia England Fiji France Ireland Italy New Zealand Scotland South Africa Tonga Wales Canada Georgia Japan Namibia Russia Samoa United States This is a good opportunity for anyone looking for exposure for their team and each of the programmes will be aired within all of the countries featured. Thanks for any help you can provide it is greatly appreciated! moreResolved Question: Can you help with an itinerary?
Okay, so i'm going to New York soon with my sister (in two weeks time) and i have been trying for ages to make an itinerary with all the things we want to do.. basically i suck at it lol. So anyway i was wondering if anyone wanted to have a go? We have five full days 9th - 13th and there is a couple of thing that need to be on certain days such as Broadway show "wicked" on the 10th @ 8pm. and NY harbour tour and rockefeller centre and the night tour need to be on the first two days so 9th & 10th as it's part of a bus tour thing that lasts 2 days the other things can be whenever you think fits.. •Macy’s •Chinatown/Little Italy •Rockefeller centre •Night Tour •American Museum of Natural History •NY Harbour Cruise •Wicked •Ferry to view statue of liberty, immigration museum •Central Park •Central Park Zoo •Empire State building •Ground Zero Museum •Grand Central Station •Tutankamun exhibition •Shopping If anyone could have a go i would greatly appreciate trying to find a good mix that doesn't have too much in the one day! moreResolved Question: Will be SMEnt artists performing in Europe?
SM Entertaintment will be doing a "world tour": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgET3Qqtv8c They will be on September 4th @ Staples Center in L.A. WHAT? Is now L.A. "the world"? Seriously, can't believe it. How can they say it a "world tour" if they will be only in USA? What about Europe or Australia? Will they be here someday? I don't think so... But why? For example in UK there are lots of kpop fans... I'm not saying that they have to come to Spain or Italy because I know that there aren't enough fans... But UK is def a good place. Maybe this is a true world tour and they will be doing more concerts... What do you think guys? I don't wanna lose the faith... moreResolved Question: Traveling Europe for three months?
My fiancé and I are thinking about traveling around Europe in about a year, for two or three months and want to know the cost. We were thinking of hostels as a place to stay, trains as our main travel source (I'm assuming this is cheaper than flying), buying our own groceries with the occasional dining out, and I think we want to visit about three to five countries; Italy, France, Greece, hopefully a trip to Ireland, and Germany. This isn't necessarily a backpacking experience (as I would like to sleep in a safe bed every night, and plan on bringing more than just a backpack full of possessions), but this certainly is NOT a five or four star experience we're looking for. We want to have a budget that allows us to maybe see a play, definitely go on a few tours, eat out a few times, and minimal shopping for souvenirs. Also, any reliable internet sites or books you can offer is also helpful. :] I hope that I covered everything you would need to know. Thanks for your advice! moreVoting Question: How can I get her out of my head?
I am trying to forget this girl Its really weird cuz ive never had a girlfriend before and I recently took this trip to italy... about 4 days before I left Italy, I met this girl and she was so amazing, the rest of our trip we stuck with each other (we were in the same tour group and from the same state).... Then on the airplane rides home, she switched seats twice to sit next to me, then she asked me to switch seats with the person next to her... so we sat by each other the whole time... before we parted from each other, we exchanged numbers and txted untill 3 in the morning that night we got home... we txtd nonstop for a couple of weeks, plus I went to her house to meet her mom and sister, then again to go to a family tradition thing... then I started to wonder why she wasnt txting me after a while until she said she was busy with drivers ed and vollyball (of course)... then i asked her to go to the town fair and she said yes... but like 2 days before that day, she said she cant go, then I kinda blew up and stuff....( things werent going well with my family) so, I never went to the fair, and I went back home in montana the day after i was supposed to go with her to the fair ( I live in montana but I was vacationing in utah because I lived there a year ago) so now we dont really talk at all, and i cant really get her out of my mind... I also keep hearing a song that reminds me of her (Airplanes, obviously) How do I fix this problemWe live in different states.... moreResolved Question: what is the best tour in Rome to take?
I will be going on a cruise ship and one of our stops will be in Rome, Italy. I would like to know what tours are available for a day. Thank you moreResolved Question: Backpacking Europe for one month?
Sorry -- this may be a little lengthy, but I appreciate your answers as this type of travelling is new to me. :) My friend and I are planning a trip to Europe for one month in September 2011 -- next year. We've looked into tour companies, and have decided that we want to do this on our own so we can go where we want and at our own pace. I'm already going to have been in England for two months prior to this -- so come September, she is going to fly over (from Canada) to meet me so we can began our travels. We're thinking of starting in either Ireland or Scotland -- and then working our way across to the countries we want to see: Spain - France - Italy - Greece - Germany - Netherlands - and possibly, Sweden. Few quick questions: 1 - Aside from buying our Eurorail pass in advance while we're still in Canada ...... we don't want to commit or book anything else. That way, we're not tied down to HAVING to be in a certain place at a certain time. So, if we were to be in Germany, we would just check in to the nearest available hotel or hostel ---- does availability work like this over there? 2 -- She is going to have about $8000 CAD saved, and I will have between $5000 and $6000 CAD saved to do this. We are going to be cheap and smart over there -- but if we want to book into a hotel instead of a hostel one night, we don't want to be counting pennies. Will this amount of money between the 2 of us allow for this? 3 -- As far as luggage goes, any suggestions? I don't want to be wheeling around one of those big suitcases for the whole trip -- but would a backpack be big enough? Any suggestions from those who have done this before? 4 -- Anything else you could recommend? We have a year to plan this, so we're looking at all of our options. THANKS! :) moreResolved Question: Planning first trip to England/ Europe, help choosing a tour?
Want to visit in summer 2011 (i'm from the caribbean). My sister and I initially wanted to visit just England but we realised we might not have this opportunity for a while again. We want to visit most of London of course, but we also want to see Stonehenge, the Cliffs of Dover and Stratford among many others... the thing is we figured we'd also like to see Paris while we're there and if we can stretch the budget, some of Italy. Has anyone attempted something similar? Any recommendations or warning stories? tour companies etc? I know it seems like a long way off, but we're trying to work out how much we need to have saved. Trying to keep the budget to $3000 USD with airfare each. oh and at max we have 2 weeks to spend. Thanks moreResolved Question: Is my family being rude- You decide?
My mom's cousin & co-worker came in town (he lives in another country and staying for 4 days) We are touring him around California. Very busy week. He comes to us because if he goes to my aunts, they just bring him here because they don't want to take care of all of the chaos. My mom is making dinner after work. My aunt decides to bring some food and she called my mom and says "I dont even have to do this, but I'm just gonna just do it for you" in a nasty way. Of course my aunt's daughter takes over aunt's personality. For the family dinner, she brings her boyfriend - uninvited. They do some PDA while we eat with our family. Next day - Her daughter comes with her friend uninvited. (While I am taking care of their dog) They come and ask "Do you have food?" ( They came for food) They wait till my mom comes back from 13 hours of work. (Note: my mom's cousin and co-worker is still here in town!) They ask her as she comes in "Do you have food we can eat?" THEN I tell her I am going to Italy where my mom's cousin lives (the one who is in town) during winter break because I want to visit him. She says "Oh I might go with you, and stay there with my boyfriend." --- Whaaaaaa? Lol 3 people in his house.. way to much work for him (and he has a job to do to!) I can't ignore this. When she comes uninvited, and we are not home - she will look for our ermergency key. Or go thru our windows some how. Eat. then leave. How can I approach her family and tell her about this? I have once and they say "Geeze, you cant do anything for my daughter? Whats so hard giving food!?" moreResolved Question: Can you recommend a reputable and enjoyable European tour company?
I want to take my 64 year old mother to Europe. She has never been before. I was an exchange student in Germany 15 years ago. Both of us primarily speak only English (she has a bit of spanish and I have a bit of German). We feel like a tour might be our best bet. Mom would like to see several different areas because this may be her only chance. She'd like to see Paris, Lucerne, and perhaps Venice or another area of Italy. Maybe even Barcelona or somewhere else in Spain. Ideally, we'd like about a two week tour, or a shorter one that ends in a locale where we could spend some time on our own. Can anyone recommend a good tour company to use? I've heard Rick Steves is the best, but their tours seem more costly than many others and don't cover the range of places we'd like to go. Are there any other good options? I appreciate any advice! moreResolved Question: could i get into elite colleges?

Ive been trying to research about how much it is going to cost me and 2 of my friends to go next summer to backpack through europe. We plan on going for around 30 days. I feel like ive done enough research, but any tips would be much appreciated. Also, is 30 days enough to go to all the countries we have listed? We were planning on staying a few days in each country and going around clockwise hitting the countries we want by the unlimited 30day Eurail pass. Starting from Madrid, Spain, and then ending in Madrid. Any helpful suggestions??? also...is this a realistic amount? and how much should we bring for spending money (tours, touristy stuff, ext), Our Trip to Europe Costs: Flight- $905 (kayak.com) Train passes- Most of Europe- $625 Britain (England, Whales, and Scotland)- $199 *4 Day Pass (its$ 159 for a 3 day trip) Paris to London (Both Ways)- $76 Ferry Passes- Britain to Ireland- $39 Ireland to France-$85 *optional trip to Malta- $175 Hostels- About $500 (Estimate high because we will sleep on trains a lot) TOTAL (Without spending/food money)- $2429 (If we go to Malta)- $2604 Food- We will just use spending money to go to a supermarket and get cheap foods/bring some food (Ex. Pop Tarts)/Go out to eat occasionally when we feel like it. -We could survive for a month off a $60 in cheap food. -Then factor how often we can go out to eat, by seeing how much spending money we have. Good Idea to have multiple ways of making transactions: Cash- It’s a quick and easy way to make transactions. We should have a healthy amount of money in cash. Debit/ATM- Should have one to use ATMS, so we do not have excessive amounts of cash on us. Credit Card- We should have one just for emergencies. I can get one, and at least if something comes up I can charge it and have people pay me back. Countries- 1.Spain 2.France 3.England 4.Ireland 5.Italy 6.Greece 7.Germany 8.Netherlands 9.Switzerland 10.Romania If we feel like it- The Others. My mom and I are trying to go to Italy next year in mid June for two weeks (if possible) to Italy and Greece for a few days. Our ideal budget is $5,000 tops. My mom is a senior and I'm going to be eighteen so I know that we can get some discounts on flights for senior and student tickets. We're not really into tour guiding, or eating at fancy restaurants and staying in luxurious hotels. We just kind of want to travel around the cities and meet people and enjoy the culture. How can we do this on a budget? I am concerned about their availability and also the cost. Does it cost more if I do when I am there? moreResolved Question: looking to tour the world?
i am 18 years old and im looking to tour some parts of the world. im looking in particular to visit south america (costa rica), europe (italy, greece, france, europe and ireland [maybe not all at once]), egypt, australia or maybe africa. i would like some suggestions for relatively cheap tour sites, that have decent ratings, where the other people in the group will mostly be my age... and any other important criteria that i didnt think of.i want to go with my best friend. so no worries about that. and i only want to go to ONE of the above places at a time, like one per summer or something. im really just looking for not very costly pages. moreResolved Question: I want plan a motorcycle holiday through Europe, how do I start planning this? Advice needed!?
I am 21 years old and I have held my full license for around 3 months now. I have always wanted to drive through Europe on a bike and I wanted to start planning this. After thinking through about what I want ive developed the following criteria - - I would like to travel for around a week although this could be shortened to less if the financial cost was significantly reduced - I own a Ducati 748 - definitely not a touring bike - and I would want to hire a bike that is more reliable and comfortable - I would be riding alone and setting out from London. I would like to take the Dover to Calais ferry to france and then head towards Italy with the south of the country being my ultimate destination. However I have not decided a route as of yet. - In terms of sleeping arrangements I would be happy taking a tent and just camping each night or visiting hotels on the way - does anyone have any advice about this? - I do not want to book with a motorcycle touring company as from what Ive seen these are very expensive and I am looking for minimal costs. Basically im a student who loves bikes and I just want to see as much as I can for minimal costs. If anyone has any advice, knows any good bike hire companies or can recommend a good bike, or indeed knows a good company that can help arrange such a trip I would be really grateful Thanks for taking the time to read this! moreResolved Question: What is your ONE biggest piece of advice for someone contemplating a bus tour of Italy?
Personal experiences ... joys or regrets ... most welcome! Especially interested in Liguria, Toscano, Umbria, Lazio, and Campania moreResolved Question: The Most Successful Female Recording Artist of All Time. Is it even questionable?
So Guiness World Records 2010 has just officially named Madonna as the best selling female recording artist of all time. Madonna's tours have grossed over a billion with the 2008/2009 Sticky and Sweet stadium/arena tour as the Highest Grossing Tour by a Solo Artist in history, breaking Michael and her own record. In America she is the #2 best selling female recording artist in RIAA history as well as the #2 most successful Hot 100 artist. "Hung Up" reached #1 in 45 countries worldwide and Hard Candy holds the record for most #1 debuts at 37 different countries (including: US, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Argentina, Canada, South Africa etc.)...Why do people still mention Mariah Carey, Britney and Celine Dion (and Nana Soukori) when it's so obvious that Madonna has had a career that eclipses all other females and even Elvis and MJ in many areas (touring, singles, longevity). She's been nominated and won more MTV awards than any other artist and she STILL can outsell Mariah and Celine these days. So if she is already #1 in sales for selling over 275-325 million records and is officially the best charting international artist of the 2000's, then WTF? Why the argueing? I give Mariah and Celine the edge in singing, but a good voice doesn't really matter in the end. Besides, even though Madonna isn't the best singer, she can still sing pretty damn well (EVITA) and perform the best of anyone and still at the cutting edge of dance and entertainment, selling out stadiums anywhere on earth...Why is this even a discussion? Sorry, just wondering because it's so blatantly obvious that Madonna is #1 and the Queen of Pop. moreResolved Question: what shouldn't i miss my second trip to NYC?

Me and my sister want to go to europe in two years, most likely over the summer or early spring. there are a few countries we want to go to, (germany), (italy), (england), (switzerland or austria) and then just one night in (paris) probably. we are just curious how much money people think it will be from their own experiences. We have two years to save up so we want to get some info! we will be flying out from St. Louis Missouri and would be willing to go on "tours" just to feel safer being with a group of people. Basically how much for air, hotels, food, and just in general getting around, per person should I expect to have to save up? Any tips please. and, what order would be easiest to do for those countries? to save time moreResolved Question: Are there city and inter-city sight seeing tour buses in Italy?

WHO IS JACK SCHITT? For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt!" Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way. Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack. In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents' objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and, because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock. Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six Schitt, were inseparable throughout Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the "Schitt-Happens nuptials." The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarce. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt. Now, when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt", you can correct them. Sincerely, Crock O. Schitt VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND?! moreResolved Question: I WANT TO TOUR EUROPE...?

Not sure what I want to do, but I do come from an affluent family in Vermont (not that that means I don't wish to work for a living). I should try to be altruistic, of course. Age 15-18: remain at school Age 18-22: university Age 22-24: spend a couple of years just travelling (including a pilgrimage to the Vatican City, a tour of Germany/France/UK/Italy, a look at the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt and the Great Wall of China) Age 27: get married to a Catholic woman Age 30: first child (be earning enough to send him/her to a top bilingual school from an early age) Just wonder if I would be missing out on something terribly exciting if all of this went according to plan. moreResolved Question: Where in Italy should I go for a unique holiday?
I want to plan a holiday for two (friends/couple) to Italy for 2 weeks. I would like to know from people who are familiar with the country which places I should see. I don't mind traveling, but I'd rather stay at fewer places for longer periods of time. I want to avoid the usual "tourist tour" - I want to really see the heart of Italy and to socialize with the locals. I love art, music, culture, unique towns/villages, the countryside, taking photos, good food, interesting people, learning new customs and I don't mind walking, extreme heat or strange meals. Please share any advice or experience you might have! moreResolved Question: Blackberry Messanger question!?

My friends and I, all US citizens holding valid US passports, aged 18 or 19, are traveling to Europe with a tour group. I was wondering if we need visas to travel to the countries we are visiting. They are: UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland. I am pretty sure that for all the EU countries and UK we are fine without visas, but I would just like to make sure. But for Switzerland, which is not in the EU, I am a bit more worried. Do we need visas for any of these countries, especially for Switzerland? moreResolved Question: What's up with my ankle?
Two months ago I got back from a walking tour of Italy and if you've ever been there you know it's ALL uphill. Well my ankle seemed perfectly fine when I got home but over the past two months it has slowly gotten painful and more swollen. It started as just being a little stiff in the morning to now being extremely swollen on the outside, top, and somewhat swollen on the inside of my ankle. On top of that it has gotten progressively more stiff and painful and has recently given out on me twice. Now in the evening and mornings it's almost to painful to walk on. This shouldn't be happening I'm a 17 year old girl!! I have had tendonitis and sprains in the past and have a bad knee. Does anyone know what could be wrong? moreTop Tour Of Italy Links
