Open Question: First time traveler to Europe, I need advice.?
I'm visiting Europe this summer with my family (2 adults, 4 children between ages 4 and 16). I'm not sure whether we should rent an RV and drive through Europe at our own pace, or buy a guided tour package (30 days) that is at a faster pace but includes hotel stays and transportation. We are planning on visiting the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain and Switzerland. We have a span of 3 months to do all of this, if we rent an RV. Any advice from past travelers to Europe? or from anyone who has travelled in an RV. I'm not sure how the bathroom situation would turn out, RV bathrooms have always looked a bit cramped to me. moreOpen Question: Zurich Airport(Flughafen) to Feldkirch or Bregenz?
I've got a pressing question to all the people who reside in either Switzerland or Austria, or to anyone who can help me with my problem, would appreciate it a lot. I am a Singaporean, aged 17, backpacking alone and I intend to buy a Eastern European Eurail Pass. Now, that covers Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. However this doesn't cover Switzerland. This is where the problem is. I am to board Singapore Airlines SQ 346 departing SIN Singapore Changi on the 28th March and arrive on the same day at 0800hrs at ZRH Zurich Flughafen(Airport). Question 1: I intend to take the 0928hrs InterCity train(with reservations) from ZRH Zurich Flughafen to Bregenz. Will I make the connection? Given I have only about 1hour to make the connection because I have to purchase the ticket for the ZRH Flughafen to Bregenz sector and make the reservation. Question 2: In the event that I am unable to fulfill the sector travel in Qn1, I want to spend some time touring ZRH's airport viewing gallery and go to Zurich Hauptbahnhof by 1p.m to catch the Railjet operated by the OBB to Vienna. But to do this, I need to buy a ticket for all sectors in Switzerland, namely ZRH Airport/Flughafen to Zurich HB, and Zurich HB to Feldkirch(the Swiss/Austrian border town) where I can use my Eurail Eastern Europe Pass in 1st class. How much does the two sectors listed above cost? I know for the Railjet's Zurich HB to Feldkirch sector, I need to book and reserve a ticket. How, where and approximately how much does it cost for a 2nd class reservation plus the tickets itself? It would be good if you can break down the cost. Thanks to all who can possibly help! moreOpen Question: Where to buy cheap suitcase on LA?
I'm travelling with tour on LA, bought too much things so I need to buy suitcase(new/secondhand). moreOpen Question: What are the pros and cons when it comes to tours verses own travel plans in Europe?
i am tossing up between taking an Italian 13 day tour with Trafalgar tours or doing it at my own leisure. I am a 34 year old female who will be travelling alone. what are the good and bad things about doing a tour? can anyone suggestion good tours? moreOpen Question: What can I do to develop a deeper appreciation for travel?
I have enough money to take a somewhat decent trip every couple of years. I can buy a $600 plane ticket (give or take) and stay in modest but comfortable accommodations for about a week. I feel like I'm a pretty typical traveler in that way. In the past few years, I've been to Puerto Rico, Montreal, and Spain (Madrid and Barcelona). I enjoyed my trips to varying degrees, but often, I felt stumped as to how to make the most of each trip. I loved Montreal because it was peaceful and pretty, and we lucked into perfect weather. I hated my trip to Puerto Rico because after one historical tour of San Juan and a trip to a modest rain forest, I was totally out of things to do. (No offense if you're from Puerto Rico; I don't mean it was an awful place. I just hated my trip.) Spain was in the middle. I enjoyed touring the royal palace and exploring Toledo as a day trip, but I got very tired of walking around trying to think of things to do in Barcelona. Please note that I am presuming that the problem is largely with me, not with the places I'm mentioning. I want to be one of those people who gushes, "I LOVE travel," or at least, if I am going to travel, I want to get as much out of it as I possibly can. What do you suggest? I like (but don't love) museums, I have a decent appreciation for great weather and natural scenery, and I like trying new restaurants, but I get tired of paying so much money for food by the end of a week. Tell me how I can pimp my trips a little? (You know, as in "pimp my ride." I mean, make the most out of them. :-)) moreResolved Question: What are some good venues in New York and/or Boston for punk and/or ska bands?
Im travelling to the US in April/May and wanna go to a few shows whilst Im over. Most of my favourite bands are touring other parts of the US or Europe at the time so figured just going to a venue on a random night I was there and hoping a good band was playing might work out. So any suggestions would be much appriciated. The bands Im into is stuff like leftover crack, sick of it all, rancid, dropkick murphys, H2O and the like just to give you an idea of what Im looking for. Any ideas?
Before I was married my previous job allowed me to earn a bunch of airline points... which are now expiring. He used some of the points for a trip to visit his friends alone a few years ago and now there's enough for one more trip. I REALLY want to go on an adventure tour in South America but he would never want to do that -- he'd rather see Europe -- which I've already been to. I wouldn't mind going back to Europe with him but I honestly need a break from my entire life right now. It's not terrible, just overwhelming and is just a drag in general (wintertime, his job sucks, my job doesn't pay enough, normal stuff). I could just come out and tell him what I want to do but I don't want to go through the hassle of having him feel offended and then spending more time trying to get him to understand -- which, let's face it -- he may or may not do. My current job doesn't travel me at all -- so that one's not going to work. My folks live in Florida so I couldn't just say I was going there without a LOT of lying. I feel super selfish for even wanting to do something like this. When I was single I used to travel by myself a lot and loved it. Five years into a marriage and I really do know the meaning of the phrase "ball and chain". Which just sucks. moreResolved Question: Help with an assignement? I need some New York 'experts' ;)?
For a school assignment we have to do a travel challenge. You have $5000 to go somewhere and back. I chose New York. I already booked my plane&hotel etc (it was like $2114.64) and I have some places picked out to go (all togther $114 w/o taxes) I need to eat 3 meals everyday. I will be gone 7 days. Please suggest some cheap places to eat. I need to find a NewYork restaurant with an online website that shows their menu AND prices ! Also could you suggest anymore attractions or things to do? I am going to: Empire State Building - Adults pay $20. New York Bus Night Tour - Web special: $39 Central Park Zoo - $8 for adults Central Park - Free to walk around? Metropolitan Museum of Art - $20 for adults Times Square Neighbourhood -Free (Is this correct??) PS: Im not really going to new york lol. I wish! moreOpen Question: Why is Lady Gaga never in Texas?
Ok, so has anyone ever noticed that Gaga has had 2 tours so far, yet she never comes to Texas. No Dallas, San Antonio, Austin...not even Houston (which btw are the 8th, 7th, 15th, and 4th biggest cities in the US respectively)? Does anyone know why? Because I would love to see her, but Im not traveling out of state though. moreOpen Question: need help. just want to ask if RBC travel and tours located at pasay city is registered at POEA?

I have never been to Europe and I will be traveling by myself if I go. I'm looking for feedback for those that have already taken these tours as what to expect, and if flying solo is a good option. moreResolved Question: What do you think of comments made by times magazine?
When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam. When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had a Sachin Tendulkar and we never will. moreVoting Question: Best sight seeing places in Dehradun,Delhi,Mussorie !!!!?
we are going for a long tour so can any one please tell me the best places to visit near the dehradun, delhi, mussorie ......any travels cntct numbers or any suggestions ... moreVoting Question: Would you find having someone organising your holiday easier?
I've been giving this some thought recently as I've been running around planning my trip for in coming months. The thought crossed my mind that if i was to open my own business that handled bookings for all types of people - budget or expensive, would you consider using it? I guess what I'm getting at is that it would be nice if I could have just given my entire plans to someone and they could have made the bookings for me flights, hotels, tours, coaches, transfers and I would have been happy to pay them a flat fee. Would you do the same? I know that travel agents do such a thing but I refrain from dealing with them as their commissions are generally +10% on top of your total costs and you dont get a very personal service at some. Something like a personal trip planner for travellers to any country. Based on the feedback I may very well go down this path.Ok so let me put this another way to avoid confusion - someone who went out and got all the information and presented it to you so you could choose and when you were convinced you liked the place they would book it for you....i think thats a better definition moreVoting Question: US permanent resident with Chinese passport traveling to Europe?
What identification and documents does US permanent resident with Chinese passport need to travel to Europe? I'm visiting Europe for about 2 weeks over the summer with a tour group for high schools students, what do i need? moreResolved Question: Best route from Mount Rushmore to Yellowstone National Park?
I'm planning a major roadtrip this august for my family (2 adults, 16 and 10 yr old kids) that goes through many northern US areas and western Canada. However, I need some help along this part: 1. Chicago to Sioux Falls 2. Sioux Falls to Mount Rushmore/Rapid City 3. Rapid City to Red Lodge, MT 4. Red Lodge to West Yellowstone 5. West Yellowstone to Helena, MT 6. Helena, MT to Edmonton, AB Now, from Rapid City, it's a 7 hour drive to Red Lodge. The reason I wanted to stop in Red Lodge is since it's a close entrance to Yellowstone Park, but arriving in the evening means I won't get to take advantage of the sights of Beartooth Highway. So by stopping overnight, I would be able to travel the route in daylight, and still have time to tour Mammoth Springs. I'd then like to make my way over to West Yellowstone and stay a night there. The following morning, I'm hoping to cover the Old Faithful Geyser and drive over to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. I think I should be able to cover both these activities by 5pm if I leave hotel early morning (9am). I'd then drive upto Helena, MT (5 hours from the site). MY QUESTIONS- Do you think this is a good plan? I plan on spending 2 full days touring only the major points of interest in Yellowstone, as I have limited time. Does my plan allow me to cover these 4 places well enough (assume both days I leave as early as 9am). I read its about an hour and a half between locations (I said them in the order I'd visit them). Also, are there any points I missed that would be well worth an additional night? All accomodation, food, route, time, and other recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time :) moreVoting Question: WHAT DO I NEED WHILE TRAVELING OVERSEAS?!?
Well, over the summer I'm traveling with a tour group around Europe for a little over 2 weeks. I live in the Unites States but I'm not a citizen, (Chinese) so what do i need to travel and be prepared so I won't cause inconvenience for the group? (such as passport and other traveling neccessities) moreVoting Question: Can someone give me critical critique on what's written? Cont.?
It was left open, but I closed it behind me. The bedside lamp was turned on dim, so the room was cast in soft shadows. The smell was getting to me and I wanted to open the window, but couldn’t since the storm was still raging outside. Lying on the bed, unconscious, was Ethan. Before approaching him, I glanced at the monitor to see the steady blips representing his heart beats. I let out a sigh of relief that it was regular and uninterrupted. Sitting next to him, I picked up his limp hand to hold. “Hey Ethan. How you been today? Do you plan on missing school much longer? Cuz you know you’re missing out on factoring polynomials.” No response. “Today I interrupted Mrs. Lokke’s class by shouting out, ‘I’m not going to let a little thing like water stop me from seeing them!’ It’s raining like crazy, but tonight is the last time we’ll be able to see Erebus in concert. Did you know they’re traveling around the globe on their Farewell Tour? Meghan was able to score four tickets.” I reached into my purse and pulled out two tickets, “See? One for you, and one for me.” The door opened behind me. I turned to see Ethan’s mom walking in. “Hello Mrs. Decker.” “Hi Katt. I wasn’t sure if you’d make it today, because of the storm. ” I gave her thee best smile I could in the situation. “I’d come today no matter what. Today’s Erebus’s concert. I had to give him his ticket; he’s their biggest fan after all.” I lifted up my hand to show her the pair of tickets it held. “Erebus. Isn’t that who you were going to see when…” A brief look a pain crossed her face. I stared holes in Ethan, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. “Yeah, it is. If you prefer it, I’ll take the ticket with me instead. I didn‘t mean to distress you, I just thought he‘d like to know that we‘re waiting for him to come back.” “It’s fine. I was just surprised that the band was coming through town again so soon. You can leave it. He’ll be happy to know he was able to get a ticket to see them again when he wakes up.”First part @ http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100223151740AA3tBAZ&r=w moreVoting Question: *Graco* Car Seat and Travel System Troubles! Here's my situation: I am transferring as a junior Electrical Engineer from UNL(Nebraska) to one of the schools listed above. I have been admitted to Cal Poly already and am still waiting on decisions from the UC schools, though I feel confident I will get into UCSD, and possibly Berkeley. I know that Cal Poly would be a LOT more affordable than any of the UC schools, but I'm wondering if I would be sacrificing a good education or an opportunity to go to grad school by going to CPSLO over a UC school. Do employers in California consider the UC schools as more prestigious than Cal Poly for engineering? If I get into Berkeley, it would be easy to choose that over Poly, but if I had to decide between UCLA/UCSD and Poly, I'm not sure what decision I would make. I have planned a month long trip to Thailand. I have my plane ticket and my tourist visa but little else. I leave on the 24th of this month and will be gone until the 27th of March. This is my first trip traveling solo ever and I am both excited about it and slightly nervous. I have traveled internationally quite a bit with work so feel confident that I can logistically handle it but am looking for places - like hotels, tour companies, particular cities where someone such as myself would enjoy going. I just finished a rough two years both personally and professionally and am in need of a break - it is the great weather, the friendly people and - really, the awesome food and cheap massages that are attracting me to Thailand. I know I want to spend time on the beaches down south and would like to see Chang Mai and Chang Rai. But I don't have an itinerary. Any help, advice, tips - would be greatly appreciated!! thanks! moreResolved Question: Which smartphone should i choose? Verizon?
I have a chance to upgrade my phone this month and I am really looking forward to getting a phone with more high end features. Specifically the Blackberry Curve 8530, Blackberry Tour, HTC Eris, or the Blackberry Storm 2. I have been using the G'zone for a year now so I want something that can be fairly sturdy if I drop it. Also, I have to keep up with emails when I travel and want something easy to use because of my limited experience with smartphones. My fingers are also a little bit "big" so I need something that's easier to type with or get accustomed to quickly The prices are: Curve-$30 Tour-$100 Eris-$80 Storm 2-$180 So if you believe the Tour and curve are pretty much the same but can save me 50 dollars then please say so but I'll take any other suggestions for Verizon. Thank you. moreResolved Question: I have 3 tickets and 4 people?
I bought VIP tickets to a concert a few weeks back. The band only tours in America every once in a blue moon. So this is something huge. My husband had planned the trip as a birthday present for me. My best friend had been neglecting me for a month and throughout that period we grew close to her ex boyfriend. My husband bought the tickets and I decided we would take my bestfriends ex boyfriend. He had went through a hard time. His neice died ect.. So we felt it would be a nice gesture. Then my bestfriend of 5 years finds out and asks who else I would take. Feeling bad I told her that If she could come up with the money then she could come too. She agreed. For the first week things where okay. Then her and her ex {that we like} couldn't get along. So we decided it was an either or situation. What it boils down to is they are both one of the same. Manipulators, users and back stabbers. I will admit this. But I can't waste the money and the tickets are non refundable. No one else I know likes the band. And the tickets have to be picked up the night of the show so that prevents us saling them. I know we have to pick one. He is nice, a backstabber, and obsessed with her. She is a user, will screw anything that walks, a backrow baptist. Also they appear to be in on this together. They lie and say they aren't talking. I don't want anyone to say "just don't take either". One will go. Rather or not they get left 6 hours away from home I haven't decided. lol.{After the concert is over. It is a 6 hour drive to the show.} So I am open for suggestions and thank you!!! Oh and by the way neither have paid or offered to pay for any of the travel arrangements. thanksOh, and I am aware that they are probably using me for the ticket at this point. She is a graduate nurse, who is currently living off daddy due to the economic times. A hypocrite at best. He lives off his parents too. He is pretty honest, but will do anything for her. Even lie and say things to us just to get information for her. I basically help her drunk butt home. I do enjoy spending more time with her then him. I don't know who I could tolerate more. moreResolved Question: Why hasn't KRS-One ever toured Japan?
Does he not travel by airplane? Does he have legal issues that keep him from leaving the US? moreVoting Question: How much is a flight from Sydney to New Zealand?
First time flying. How much would it roughly cost for two people to go to North Island of New Zealand and travel down to the south Island. Staying there for 13 days. Along with tours? moreTop Travel Tours Links
