Open Question: A movie that's available nowhere?
It's an Indian movie called "Anant Yatra" (Endless Journey). It was released in 1984. I was just 6 years old then. Watched it on Indian telly in 1985. The movie had a strange plot. It's all philosophical and surreal stuff. I remember just a few scenes. It had something to do with time travel (or mind travel?). One scene I remember is of a guy who goes back in time to ancient India - at a time when the poet Kalidasa was alive. Another scene was of a guy suddenly discovering a live snake under his office table. Another scene showed a guy walking a treadmill in his office gym. The scene is repeated in the movie many times I think. Now I realize that the walking symbolizes the theme of endless journey. Now I did an extensive online search and came up with only a few sketchy synopses of the movie. But I want to download the entire movie, if it's available online. Anyone know any links? Btw, this movie is not available on DVD and was never shown on television again. moreOpen Question: Cab | Hire Cabs For All India?

i don't know what i should major in. i'm going to a pretty small university in wisconsin and i plan to transfer to a different university after my sophomore year. i don't really know what to study. i know i probably want to minor in a language, perhaps spanish, which i've already taken for 3 years, or a middle eastern language such as arabic. i'm extremely interested in politics and traveling. i enjoy doing extensive research and writing papers, primarily because i'm good at both of them. i don't have much interest in science aside from astronomy and astrophysics which i love, but i don't think i'm intelligent enough to major in either of those subjects. i love movies and art. i'm opinionated about feminism, racism, and the political system, but i have a hard time speaking my mind in front of large groups of people. i like middle eastern studies. i love history. the only subjects i truly enjoy learning in school are global and contemporary issues, history, politics, and things dealing with the outside world. i want a major that will allow me to find a good job with a good salary (at least $40,000 a year). i've heard that political science and international relations are both pretty useless majors. my ultimate dream is to work at the united nations, but i understand that's a pretty high goal and would probably take 10+ years of experience to even be considered for a job there. what do you think i should major in and what are some examples of careers i could have in that field? moreOpen Question: Should I tell my boss about a potential trip next year?
I've been working at a magazine full time as a staff writer for about six months. Internally, I'm not content with the job. It pays horribly and there don't seem to be a lot of advancement opportunities. But it's a job, which is more than most young grads like myself can say they have. For the last month, I've conceptualized and been planning a long form journalism project that I would undertake next April and which would take at least six months to complete, with extensive travel involved. Starting next month, I want to attempt to gauge funding possibilities for the project, including a Kickstarter campaign. Problem is, I'm sure my boss will find out about the trip if I utilize all my contacts on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin for the Kickstarter effort, which is essential for such things. (We have a lot of mutual connections). I don't want to stay with my job forever, but getting axed before I know whether or not I can fund this project would not be good. Should I sit down with my boss and tell him about the possibility of me doing this trip next year, and my intention to test the waters by trying internet outreach? On my own time, of course. It's so far from now, it's still merely theoretical, and the company I work for does so little to retain young employees that I'd be surprised if he fired me on the spot. He's been very happy with my work, and we have a good relationship. moreOpen Question: USAF Loadmaster vs Boom Operator?
I have done extensive research into both of these enlisted careers and would like some further information from Active duty members with a similar situation. A little about myself - I have an associates degree in Business, I have always wanted to be part of an aircrew and travel the world with the air force. I am married, no children, but plan on in the future. Which career would you think is better suited for my situation? I plan on going in as an E3 and DEPr if required. I have been doing office work for a few years now and want a total change and something more physically demanding that sitting before a desk for 9 hours a day and of course to serve in the military and serve my country. Both career seem ideal for me but would like to hear view from other enlisted of vets. Thank you! moreResolved Question: What do my dreams mean?
I have had extremely long dreams and every time it's a continuation of the same thing. This ordinary guy broke into a huge prison facility in a fascist country to help his dad and some others escape. He gets caught, and can only pull off an escape himself and ends up not being able to save his family. After like 7 weeks of traveling the country (which seems to be the united states, and I saw every minute of it, even going to the bathroom, yawning, and blinking) he was walking through a rich neighborhood when he met a little girl about 10 years of age. She convinced him to play a little game so he did. She invites him to a dinner party her parents are holding and meets her older sister (his age, but I dot know what that is. I assume my age- 15) the family allows him to stay for a few weeks, assuming he is homeless- and he eventually explains his story to the girl. She decided to help him and they prepare to set out again. At this point I assumed he was gathering a group of people to help him break his dad out. The the last dream I had ended with them sneaking out of the house. This dream has been going on for two months. Usually, they last a week or two. The guy looks like Leonardo Dicaprio around the time he made the titanic movie, the girl looks like me except she has brown hair. My last extensive dream was around November. It lasted around two weeks and I dreamed I was a student at Hogwarts! A very fun dream and somehow I felt like I had control of everything I was doing- not watching a movie like most of them. moreResolved Question: Ladies, would you be more willing for a guy who...?

Will be traveling through several US states and may need to use my debit card occasionally. However, I don't want to have to give that piece of plastic to just anyone to use in order to charge my card. Is there some way to give out orally only the imprinted #s for verification. Also the use of a mechanical "card reader" isn't something I fancy either. How would you handle getting the charge paid for (yes I could use cash) using a debit card. I think these are fine if you KNOW everyone you use it with, but for extensive travel, there are too many opportunities to run into unscrupulous vendors. Please help & thank you all. Many blessings moreResolved Question: I have had extremely long dreams what do they mean?

Hello. I am a 15 year old female and have been seriously considering becoming an Archaeologist/(maybe) Anthropologist. Does anyone know the benefits/down sides of this job? And to me, extensive travel is a benefit xD moreResolved Question: Do long distance marriages tend to be dysfunctional?
My boyfriend is applying for jobs that require extensive travelling, he would love to stay a week or several months in another country. We are thinking of getting married, I guess we can make the marriage work even when he's overseas, but my parents say long distance marriages tend to be dysfunctional. I guess they might be judgmental because my dad has a friend who had a dysfunctional long distance marriage and he regrets it, he barely sees his child and never had a new relationship. moreResolved Question: What is better for traveling entrepreneurs: an Ipad or a laptop?
I will be doing extensive travel through SE Asia in the future and will need to be in contact with my clients via internet. Is it better to lug my heavy laptop around or invest in an Ipad? Could you recommend a good laptop for entrepreneurs as well? Thanks! moreVoting Question: Canadian Ferrets vs Breeder Ferrets?
So I'm looking into getting a ferret and have done some extensive research about them. One thing that i have read is that Ferrets from Canada that you were to buy from a pet store are not as healthy as ones from a breeder. It said something about they get spayed and neutered to young or they get their shots to young (im not quite sure but i know it said they get something while they are too young). Anyways, i haven been looking around and found out that there are no ferret breeders in Canada and the closest ones from me are in Ohio. This is about 5 hours away from where i live. This is not a problem because i will travel that far if it means i'm getting a significantly healthier ferret. So what i want to ask is, is there any real different between Canadian ferrets and ones from breeders? moreResolved Question: Is this a good prologue for my book?
I was wondering if this was a good prologue for my book i'm writing. Is about a war between the 6 elemental domains and Im not good a writing...so yea.... The Domains, respectively ruled by one of six Guardians, Earth, Wind, Light, Fire, Water and Darkness. Each with their own assets and weaknesses, they together bring harmony to the land… The Land of Being. The sun and moon arises and goes, and years pass, the once passive land filled with glistening seas and bright skies has become murky waters and green skies… Thuirose, the Guardian of earth, used his strength to attempt to overcome the others, the land now bursting with chaos and daily trips to the arena to a said “competition” of worthiness, to show strength, but truly a fight to the death… Weekly, the six travel to the court, the place where passed guardians reside and the place where they come to argue and “try” to work things out… The domain where “She” breathes, the place where “She” Rules, the very place that they fight with freedom and independence, The Water Domain… Nerida, the Guardian of said place, the one who has the power to end the wars but her weakness is Earth… With her extensive elegant brown hair; Bright sapphire eyes and bleached skin. Her necklace, control the domain, her silk indigo dress. But yet not the True Guardian…And yes I know that Light and Darkness arent elements moreResolved Question: Having both is not an option?
I don't know wht to do. I can have my dream job and career, as I was accepted and can start this summer. But I recently met and got involved w/my dream girl. I haven't felt this way about a girl in over a decade. It is very rare for me. Now I'm in a bind bc she already said if I go we'll be pretty much through. She just couldn't handle the extensive travel and time away from home. So wht the hell am I supposed to do? Dream girl or job. Having both is not sm option moreVoting Question: I want to do a MOS 2007 course but don't know which online course to use?
Hello, I have been very ill for the last 7 years as soon as I left school actually. I am now rebuilding my life slowly but find my self with no real skill set. I don't want to stay in retail forever. I thought a good understanding of how to work basic computer applications would be a good start as even most entry level jobs require computer literacy. I have researched a couple of courses, home learning isn't as extensive as ICS for some reason but home learning has better reviews. £500 is a lot of money for me right now and I don't want to waste it. Has anyone done this course and can provide me with some feedback on the best online course. It has to be online as travelling is still a little hard for me. Thank you for all your help. moreResolved Question: Will a Mac be a Worthy Investment?
I intend on buying either a Macbook Pro or Air, and I was wondering if it would be a good investment since I already have a pretty decent PC laptop already. (i7 3.1gHz, 640 Gb HDD, 1GB Nvidia Graphics, 6Gb of DDR3 memory) Its main purpose would be traveling (I want to be able to take it everywhere without fear of breaking), art and design, and finally music editing etc. I also intend on getting Final Cut X because of the medias I am working with. I want it powerful enough to run some more extensive programs and application, but not lose any portability in the process. Also, as a final question- if I do get a Mac, which should it be?Also, I do enjoy using the Lion OS, so that is not a problem (my roommate owns a 21.5 iMac so I am quite familiar with it.) moreResolved Question: How can I find paid internship/work experience opportunities?
Hi, Does anybody know of some effective ways through which I could find paid internships or paid work experience opportunities either in the UK or abroad suitable for university graduates? E.g. Are there any websites specifically focused on keeping a database of these openings? Or are there any companies I recently graduated with an International Relations MA. Before this I obtained a Law degree at undergraduate. After graduating in August with the MA, I went travelling to Asia for three months. Despite this, all coming at huge personal expense, the job search is currently proving fruitless. The issue is I'm lacking any relevant, substantial work experience. I feel I'm getting trumped by not just the Oxbridge graduates and those with connections, but by the less qualified with extensive experience. I would go for the many, many, many unpaid internships out there but I simply can't afford to work for any lengthy period of time for free. All help will be much appreciated, including any general tips! Thanks guys, :) moreResolved Question: Mother's need advice dealing with ex husband .?
I'm a young divorced single mom. I met my ex-husband in the Army we have a child together. My ex-husband jumps in and out of my son's life sporadically. When I would beg him to send me money he would send money for 3 months then he disappear for a year. I got tired of it and cut all communication with him. When I went to Iraq my mother kept him I constantly paid for everything. My son is now 6 and I let him speak to his father because once again he's back wanting to do the right thing. It's hard for me because I don't want to keep him from his family. My son's father I learned is a bit challenged due to years of his mother being on drugs when having him. I feel sorry for him so I don't want to hurt him with the court system. My main issue is he has been kicked out the military and struggling to find a job and keep his cell phone on. He now lives with his mother who claims to be drug free and a christian. I really am concerned about exposing my son to this environment. I don't even really know his mother, she constantly text me profanity telling me to "keep my legs close then I wouldn't be asking for child support" and other ramblings. She had 7 kids been on welfare her whole life and loves to tell me what a horrible mother I am and how I am living off his child support. I haven't dealt with him in almost 4 years & I never took a handout. I obtained my BA, MA now working on my JD while serving in military. I know little boys need their father but his family really scares me. My son is so angry with me for not letting him go to his father. However my biggest fear is letting him go and never seeing him again. I usually allow his father to stay at my home and visit with his son. My boyfriend even hates the idea but after speaking to him he realized he needs help also and is sympathetic. I know that seems controlling on my part but the fact that he doesn't always use his own judgment and easily influenced by his mother I can't bing myself to let him go. Both his mother and sister have extensive drug history and all live under same roof. I'm in NYC they are in Maryland so I'm concerned about letting him travel that distance away from me. I guess I feel like a bad mother now because my son is very angry and father is also. Any suggestions?????? He comes and goes in and out our life and I'm scared for my son.Jery you comments are quite amusing and shows your ignorance. I never said he was retarded I noticed he is a bit slow. Yes he did a good job hidding it and his father bought it to my attention. People keep secrets all the time it is not uncommon. SO whatever your opinions of me are just that opinions.I have sole custody in my divorce decree. moreResolved Question: Do you want to do extensive travelling at some point in your life?

I've just moved here from Australia (my dads English) so I will be leaving here (in Oxford) for at least a year or so. The English are so lovely, friendly and cute.. very interested all the time in where I'm from, talkative, polite and I feel so welcome! But one thing I've noticed, I have met a lot of people while here the past couple months who have asked me why I would come to England from Australia. I've heard "what brings you to shi'tty England" at least a dozen times and things like "It sucks here" etc etc.. Am I missing something? So far I absolutely love it. The historic buildings, traditional pubs, friendliness, greenery, quaint villages.. I don't get it is what I'm saying. I've travelled and spent quite an extensive amount of time in other countries before and I haven't heard people put down their country as much as they do here. Why?*living here moreResolved Question: Have strict gun control laws made Mexico safer?
Have strict Mexican gun laws made Mexico a safer place? Is violent crime non-existent now in Mexico since ordinary Mexicans are effectively banned from defensive gun ownership? Oh sure, if you have plenty of money, time and a lot of patience, you can legally own a gun in Mexico. You first need a legitimate reason to apply for a permission and pay large fees, have an extensive background check, receive permission, then travel to Mexico, D.F. (Mexico City) for a training class of several weeks. Only then you are allowed to purchase one of a few models from the government store in the D.F. The process can take years and cost hundreds of thousands of pesos, with absolutely no certainty that a law-abiding Mexican will be approved to get a gun. In other words, the red tape necessary to get a gun in Mexico has ensured that 99% of the Mexican people cannot legally posses a gun. Those that can, must keep the ammunition, the gun and critical parts of the gun locked in separate places ensuring that they are not available in an emergency. Under strict gun control, has Mexico become one of the safest places, or one of the most dangerous places on Earth? Also, how has our President Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder ensured the continued safety and security, by promoting a gun-free Mexico? moreResolved Question: How to get vegan makeup in Victoria, Australia?
I used to get all my cosmetics from a local vegan woman who made her own little line - unfortunately she has passed and these products are obviously no longer available. After an extensive search I have found it impossible to find any store that stocks a decent array of vegan makeup brands, or a respectable online brand that will actually ship to my country. If anybody could provide me with information regarding a store in Victoria that would cater to my needs (I'm willing to travel, however would like to avoid the regional areas of North Victoria as I am situated in the south) or alternatively a 100% certified vegan and cruelty free online brand that provides shipping options to Australia. Somewhere that is a little more cost-effective would also be fantastic. I am looking for a liquid foundation, concealer with a brush sponge (not a lipstick or one that functions like a twist-up crayon), a finishing powder, a mascara and a pallet of natural/earth eyeshadow colours (grey, brown, tan, gold). I have a very fair skin tone so I'm looking for pale child products :) PLEASE NOTE: I am only interested in brands that are entirely vegan, not that sell some vegan products (not in favour of providing revenue to continue the use of lanolin, beeswax, etc in other products in the range). I am also not interested in vegan hate responses. Go take your snotty, childish attitudes elsewhere :3 Any comprehensive answers would be greatly appreciated! moreVoting Question: What path should I take?
Hello. I have been struggling forever. I have tried everything under the sun to become a real person and live like everyone else. Nothing has been able to help me. I believe that I truly shouldn't be here and my life is reflecting that. I was and still am a pretty woman. My soulmate if I even have one doesn't want me. I don't want to get into my life because I dont want to talk about it anymore. What I have learned is no matter how much therapy, pills, group therapy, hypnotism, wishing, dreaming, affirmations, if I'm not meant to be lived I'm just not going to be. And thats the way its gonna be. For years and years Ive only had one wish. I wish please, I dont want money, I dont want clotes or travel or even a big house. Please make a man want to love me. He never comes. It's all I've ever wanted. I can't even have that one wish and I'm crying for the umpteenth time. Ive been crying since I was a teen and thats all my life is. I cant get proper help because Im too busy paying the rent for what I dont know. What am I even doing here? I dont accept that I'm not meant to be loved. My family doesn't understand and they simplify my problem and think its amusing. I am beyond devasted. The mere idea of any man living me is amusing to people. I hate my life. I wish I could take an extensive leave and be helped by someone who acknowledges that I have a problem and wants to help me. It shoukd have been done a long time ago. I dont know what do. Im searching. Please help me. I cant control what people think about me and my life has been wated. I went on holiday last summer and I realized after the plane landed back home that I hadn't been to the toilet at all that day, for anything. I started driving home and then felt really sick, i pulled over and run to the toilet and then felt just about ok. Since then I have become obsessed with going to the toilet before anything, before exams, before walking into town, before driving places. I am very aware of where toilets are and I now turn down opportunities if it involves extensive travel or time away from home. I am trying to now go often anymore and when I don't have access to the toilet but think about it I immediately and the sicky feeling comes back. I was reading about this place called the island of the dolls in Mexico, and the whole island is decorated with old mutilated dolls. I was reading this article about it: "Mexico’s Island of the Dolls Is Beyond Creepy By Spooky on November 19th, 2009 Category: Pics, Travel Known as “La Isla de la Munecas”, by the Spanish, The Island of the Dolls is perhaps the creepiest tourist attraction in Mexico. Located within an extensive network of canals, south of Mexico City, the island is a place of mystery and superstition. Almost every tree growing on the island is decorated with old, mutilated dolls that give anyone the feeling that they’re constantly being watched. The story behind the Island of the Dolls began when a hermit by the name of Don Julian Santana moved here. Although he was married he chose to live the last 50 years of his life alone. Don Julian used to say he was haunted by the ghost of the little girl who had drowned in one of the canals around the island. Some say he used to fish the dolls from the water because he though they were real children, but the truth is he was collecting and placing them around his home as a shrine for the spirit that tormented him. At one point he even traded home grown fruit and vegetables for old dolls. Ironically, in 2001 Don Julian Santana was found dead by his nephew, in the same canal that he said the little girl drowned in. Now his Island of the Dolls is one of the world’s weirdest tourist attractions. Some tourists who visited this place claim the dolls whisper and you must offer them a gift upon setting foot on the island, to appease their spirits." ** (creepy right?) So my question is, have any of you ever been to the island? What was it like? Did anything incredibly scary happen? And what does the article mean by 'gifts'? Did you give the dolls a 'gift' if you had been there, what was it? moreResolved Question: Unique Honeymoon Under $4000?

I applied for a Sales Territory manager position, and while I don't have "exact" experience for the job I have a lot of related experience: extensive industry experience and knowledge (5 years) a vast knowledge of a lot of the products I would be selling (Marine, RV, and recreational), general management experience (6 years), retail/customer service experience (14 years), inside sales (5 years) as well as some other relevant experience they were looking for (computers, travel, training etc). I also know a lot of people in the industry (specifically business owners) that I am friends with that I could turn in to potential customers pretty easily. I also know the guy that was doing the interviewing, and have gone to parties etc, and even worked with him (I am applying for his current position as he is relocating) as he was our sales rep for a time. My best friend is very close friends with the guy that is hiring as well, and has basically guaranteed him I would do a great job if I was given the opportunity. My friend also happens to be in pretty close with the owner of the company too. I interviewed well, and out of 2 resumes, mine was one that made it through. The other was a guy that had experience in being a salesman, and claimed to have grown his area by 50%.....but he has been out of work for a year and a half. (I just resigned from my last job, but am working part time until I hear about the decision for this job.) The reason the "Other guy" is out of work is that he said his company downsized and he got the axe. (not sure if I would drop a guy who grew numbers by 50%, but I have no way of verifying his claims) I am just asking this question for the heck of it really, who would you hire? A) Guy with all the "other" experience you are looking for, and has a stamp of approval from people in the industry, and is currently working, and is also trainable (no exact prior exp - so very trainable, blank canvas) B) Guy who has experience in the field, seems like a good fit as well, but has not been working for a year and a half (reason was company downsized) (a little insight about me - this job is my dream job. I would love doing it, thrive on pressure and strive to be the best. I'm competitive as hell, and would want to be the top performer EVERY month. I would get to travel a little (8-10 days a month), set my own schedule, and have all kinds of perks. ( I came from running a business and doing 80hrs+ a week, so being able to see my family and have fun at my work.....thats unheard of!) Seriously this is lifetime career for me, unless I won the lotto or something - which you need to play to win, so I'm out there) Anyways tell me what you think.......A or B...be honest, that's what I came here for! Thanks! Thanks for the answer, and that was one of my strengths they said I had was passion and drive, which translates well to sales. I know knowing someone doesn't always get you in the door, and I wouldn't expect it to, I just listed that because I do have that on my side.I know you don't know me, but like I said this would be a career I could do for the rest of my working days, and I wouldn't say that if it wasn't something I was passionate about! moreResolved Question: Travel Insurance for TEFL?

Perhaps others are in a similar place?
Hello to you all, I'm 24. A UK citizen. I graduated in the middle of 2012 with a BA Honours degree in what was essentially Politics and Law. I speak Italian to an intermediate level, as well as a working knowledge of Spanish, with a beginner's level of Portuguese and Japanese. I'm also very lucky to be an acting landlord for a 3 bedroomed house here in the UK, in which tenants are currently living. I have been very fortunate to have travelled extensively, seeing some of the world's great cities. I love aviation, motorsport, and foreign culture (films, sport, religion, art etc.). I've also begun to fall in love with an American girl who I met in the most quirky of circumstances; commenting on a news article online. This was some months ago and since then we've spoken face-to-face through video calling and spent time with each other recently in the United States. We feel similarly for each other. Despite what seems like a content life, I'm very unhappy. Since graduation, I have managed to do volunteer work, achieve a TEFL teaching qualification and work in retail for a well-known supermarket chain that espouses ethical business practices. It's a little above the minimum wage and is technically part-time (12-20 hours per week). I've applied to hundreds of advertisements in industries that include travel (a great passion of mine), language, recruitment, estate agency, EFL teaching and administration. To date, I have had 4-5 interviews (it's easy to have a fuzzy mind!), with only one being partially successful, at which time I had a very sick grandmother (I live with my grandparents). I wonder if there are other graduates or workers in a similar situation who would like to share their experiences? I have made extensive lists of my abilities & strengths, interests and motivations, and I still feel as lost as the day I graduated. Please, feel free to comment, share or similarly vent. Good day to you all!*2010 - my bad! moreVoting Question: Assassin's Creed 3 setting?
This is a comment I posted on a forum- what do you think? This may seem like a bit of an essay, but that just proves how much there is to say on the matter, so hear me out, I have a point to put forward. Victorian London would indeed be perfect: you only have to watch Dorian gray, Sherlock Holmes, Sweeney Todd or Oliver Twist to see that. There are thieves, murderers (Jack the Ripper!), Courtesans, Gentleman's Clubs (Hellfire Club) and secret societies (Freemasons--who have strong ties with the Templars), and of course plenty of Templar sites as well as Points of Interest which are always included in AC games since AC 2. There are many different levels of building including many high viewpoint locations throughout the cities in London: Cathedrals, Abbeys, Castles. There was plenty of Power, Politics and conspiracy at this time. Furthermore the Victorian era in London saw the emergence of Industialisation as Britain led the way in the invention and manufacture of many new devices, and this would be a fitting replacement for the Leonardo inventions. The city has a variety of locations, from the riches of Westminster and Chelsea, to the poverty of Clapham and the East-end. The city of London had built an extensive sewage system in the Victorian era which was large enough to sail a boat down, and this provides for the fast travel locations as well as some assassin tomb-style dungeon levels as seen in AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations. And the game would not have to simply be restricted to London either: there are many places in Britain which the game could contain, such as Lincoln Castle/Cathedral (where the Templars were held before their investigation), or Edinburgh in Scotland, or in any realm of the Empire, which at the time was the largest ever seen on Earth: such other locales could include any of the territories: the British Empire controlled a large part of Africa: from Egypt (to appease those who wish to see a game set there) to Capetown in one long strip, many parts of Asia (including, although later on Palestine and the Holy Lands), India, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong in china (although this was late into the Victorian Era, perhaps not the time which the game might be set.) Ultimately and in my opinion, I agree entirely with the notion that the game should be set in Victorian London as it facilitates everything that an Assassins Creed game should. The setting is becoming more and more popular throughout fictional media thanks to games like Uncharted 3, and films like Sherlock Holmes, and therefore I hope that you will agree with me when I say that Assassins Creed 3 would be better suited to no other location that Victorian London. moreResolved Question: Any chance titanic artifacts could make it to coast of New Jersey?
Just curious; actually REALLY curious... Though the Titanic did sink so many miles away from the coast of NJ, it is still a bit in line with us-as I can see on the map. So do you think it is at all possible that any objects or artifacts from the sinking of it, could some how make it to the shore of NJ at all? After all these years, storms, and constant ocean action and movement? I take great interest in history lost and hidden in the sea, and find it VERY intriguing. I also am a beachcombing enthusiast, and sometimes when I find little things here and there, I ponder if it may have made it's way by foreign sea travel long ago. If anyone has done extensive studies in this area of interest, please get involved in answering:) I'd love to know more! moreResolved Question: could someone please help me with this physics project?
The Physics of a Crash On Saturday afternoon, October 23, at around 2:30 PM, Rodney Racer drove his brand new Holloway Industries (HI) sports car, the XC-9 off a cliff when he lost control going around a corner. Rodney claims the car was defective. He states that he was well below the posted speed limit and that the car lost traction with the road and went off the cliff. Luckily, he survived the crash with only some broken bones. He is suing Holloway Industries for damages totaling 2.7 million dollars and is demanding that the inferior vehicle be recalled. You have been subpoenaed by the court to give expert testimony based on your extensive physical science knowledge, particularly, your knowledge of physics and the laws of motion. You will be writing a report, which explains the physics involved in determining the speed of the car as it left the road. Information obtained from the crime scene is as follows: 1.The car was going around a left hand corner 2.The car was traveling 10° west of north when it lost control 3.The posted speed was 50 miles per hour 4.The cliff was measured to be 58 ft high 5.The corner was banked up at 3° from the inside of the turn to the outside. 6.There was a guardrail that the car broke through with a restraining force of at least 1500 lbs 7.The car landed 201 ft (horizontally) from where it broke through the guard rail 8.The car weighs 2600 lbs 9.The tire pressure was 36 PSI. 10.The weather was clear with no rain, but a five mile per hour wind from the south 11.The acceleration due to gravity is 32 ft per second per second 12.The XC-9 was metallic midnight blue Your report should be formatted as follows: The first paragraph should be an introduction discussing Newton’s first law of motion. The second paragraph should be an explanation of how fast the car was going, including a section detailing the formulas used and the calculations you performed. The third paragraph should address conceptually the affect of other forces that cannot be calculated exactly, such as the affect of wind and air resistance on the car and how that would affect your calculations. The fourth paragraph should discuss the affect of the guardrail on the car and how that would affect your calculations. The fifth paragraph should summarize your findings and clearly state how fast the car was traveling at the time of the accident. Remember that the judge does not have a strong science background, so you need to thoroughly explain the concepts you are using to him in your report. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS?? I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO START!! moreResolved Question: What do you think of this essay?
I wrote this essay about the Mona Lisa for fun. What do you think? The Mona Lisa is widely considered to be the greatest portrait of all time. It has inspired poetry, sculptures, forgery, and theft. But seriously, why? The painting is small, only 30 x 21 inches, the colors are somber, the background is desolate and eerie, and the subject isn’t anyone historically significant. So what’s all the fuss about? Is it really all about her mystifying gaze and quirky smile? Well, let’s take a closer look. Da Vinci’s greatest innovation here is the relaxed and informal three quarter pose. Although Mona Lisa’s pose may seem commonplace and almost trivial today, it was revolutionary in the early 1600s. Prior portraits were stiff and contrived and mainly consisted of profiles. This pose established a new style of portrait painting that is the still standard today, five hundred years later. The pyramidal composition of the portrait is also a Da Vinci innovation. Notice the wide base of the painting, which appears heavier than the top. Mona Lisa’s hands form the front corner of the painting. Your eye is drawn to the top of the painting, and that infamous enigmatic smile. Furthermore, most portraits at the time were full length. Da Vinci’s more intimate cropping was immediately imitated by masters such as Raphael. Sfumato is Italian for blended, with connotations of smoky. Leonardo used the term to explain the technique of layering translucent layers of color to create the appearance of depth, volume, and form. The blending of colors becomes so suttle that the gradations are hardly perceptible. The area around her eyes as well as her hair and her scarf have a semi-translucent, smoky feel, that gives the painting a sense of movement. This technique is also used in the background to create a sense of harmony between the sitter and the landscape. Keep in mind that this was a completely new technique that added a sense of realism that was utterly unparalleled in its time. Leonardo’s love of rocky landscapes is visible in many of his paintings. Of note here, is the two landscapes on either side of Mona Lisa’s head are a physical impossibility. The mountains on the left is noticeably lower than the mountains on the right. This is also one of the first portraits to use an imaginary landscape. Lastly, the background becomes more hazy and out of focus as distance increased was a major breakthrough that added to the realism of the painting. Paintings at this time created equal levels of detail in the foreground and background . Most experts agree that over cleaning would remove the eyebrows, which were added after the paint dried. Nevertheless, poor cleaning techniques definitely caused the greenish hue of her skin tone. However, Leonardo was known for more somber color palettes than his contemporarys. Da Vinci’s extensive anatomical dissections lead to his incredibly accurate depiction of the delicate and beautiful hands. The half circular forms are the bases of pillars on either side of an open luxia. Copied sketches from Raphael proved that part of the painting was lost after being removed from the original frame. Who is she? Experts disagree, but she is most likely Madonna Lisa di Antonio Maria Gherardini, wife of wealthy aristocrat, Francesco del Giocando, who commissioned the painting in 1503. Da Vinci probably never finished the commission as parts of the painting were likely painted as late as 1510. Like many great portrait painters, he probably walked a fine line between accurate representation and flattery. Perhaps, he then began to infuse his own ideas of ideal beauty into the subject. Leonardo never finished the commission, and it is said he traveled with the painting in order to show off his talents. Scientists cannot agree as to why Mona Lisa’s smile is interpreted so differently by different people. Theories range from the nature of human vision to sigmenphroids interpretation of the smile representing Leonardo’s neurotic attraction to his mother. The mystery of the smile is what makes the painting so engaging. This work introduced several revolutionary painting techniques, displayed a supreme mastery of techniques by its artist, and continues to inspire and intrigue many people who view it. It is safe to say that Leonardo’s masterpiece will likely remain as one of the greatest paintings of all time. Also, keep in mind that I'm only in 7th grade. And I DID have it separated into six paragraphs, but when I copied it, it merged into one huge paragraph. This wasn't assigned, I did it for fun. moreResolved Question: Questions for anyone who's traveled through Helpx?

How much a year should a husband and wife make in total for salary to have a good living and be able to support a family you think? I'm a freshmen at a university and thinking about dropping out. I've been overly stressed with school and unhappy and have had thoughts to find a less college extensive job. Really I think to raise a decent family a person doesn't need to make too much. I found a job that pays 15-25K a year that requires about a year and half of schooling, I've been really considering it a lot. Really when I think about it, I mean I would like a two story huge house for my family but, I don't need it, I think with a one story house I would be happy. I plan to marry one day and assuming my wife works as well, and makes an average of 15-25K a year our combined salaries will be around 50K a year. Ok, so I'm a Canadian Teenager (15), and during Christmas Break, my Youth Group is taking a trip to a city in the Midwest United States. We'll be traveling by Coach Bus by the way and we'll have about 50-60 teens. My questions are: - What happens when you reach the border by coach bus? - Will DHS agents surround and storm the bus? - Do DHS agents just walk around the bus and ask everyone for their passport? Also, I have some porn (typical teen lol) on my phone, so knowing that its legal for DHS to take laptops and cell phones, should I just leave my cell phone at home in Canada? BQ: And also, I would like to know why this happened: - I was at Vancouver Intl' Airport in Canada when the Canadian Border Services Officer asked me if I had any other names after scanning my passport. He then marked it with a blue marker and sent me, my mom, and my sister into the "extensive check" room. The Canadian Border Officer in that room took our passports and checked them, only to have it returned to us about 15 minutes later. They also did not check our bags. Does anyone know whats going on??? moreResolved Question: Canberra: Driving Rules...For those who have driven, do you agree?
BASIC RULES FOR DRIVING IN CANBERRA 1. Indicators will give away your next move. A real Canberra driver never uses them. 2. Under no circumstances should you leave a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, or somebody else will fill in that space, putting you in an even more dangerous situation. 3. Crossing two or more lanes in a single lane change is considered "going with the flow." 4. The faster you drive through a red light, the less chance you have of getting hit. 5. Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive repairs. The other guy doesn't have anything to lose. 6. Breaking is to be done as hard and as late as possible to ensure that your ABS kicks in, giving a nice, relaxing foot massage as the brake pedal pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it's a chance to stretch your legs. 7. Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as suggestions and apparently not enforceable in the metro area during rush hour. 8. Please remember that there is no such thing as a shortcut during rush-hour traffic in Canberra. 9. Always slow down and rubberneck when you see an accident or even someone changing a tyre. 10. Everybody thinks their vehicle is better than yours, especially 4WD drivers. 11. Learn to swerve abruptly. Canberra is the home of High-Speed Slalom Driving thanks to the Urban services, which puts potholes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes, not forgetting the 'Test your skill' chicanes in suburbs. 12. It is traditional in Canberra to honk your horn at cars that don't move the instant the light changes. 13. Seeking eye contact with another driver revokes your right of way. 14. Never take a green light at face value. Always look right and left before proceeding. 15. Remember that the goal of every Canberra driver is to get there first, by whatever means necessary. 16. Heavy fog and rain are no reasons to change any of the previously listed rules. These weather conditions are God's way ensuring a natural selection process for panel beaters, junkyards, and new vehicle sales. It is an acceptable practice to increase your speed in comparison to the rate of rain fall, i.e.: the harder it rains, the faster you go. 17. There is a commonly held belief in Canberra that high-speed tailgating in heavy traffic reduces petrol consumption as you get sucked along in the slipstream of the car in front. 18. It's OK to cut off fully loaded semi-trailers, road trains and buses because, hell - they have brakes. 19. It is an essential duty of the driver to preserve the life of his passengers. Hence no matter how much of an inconvenience it may be, always find a detour around The Causeway, Lower Kambah, Lower Wanniassa, Scullin, Areas of Ainslie, and Oaks Estate. 20. Always anticipate oncoming traffic while driving down a one-way street. 21. Its Okay when driving in Belconnen's suburbs to air your grievances at bad drivers by giving the "one finger salute" while screaming out "#%*#". However, it is imperative you are driving at least a 5-litre V8 with a crow bar in your lap. 22. Canberra drivers are experts at merging, when in two or more lanes travelling in the same direction, ensure that if you see someone politely indicating, waiting slowly trying to merge into your lane, show them that they must 'Wait their turn' to use your lane. Speed up, try to cut them off, should they succeed and get into your lane never mind that it was actually legal for them to do that, ensure that your flash your lights, honk your horn, use extreme hand gestures, even tailgate them, just to let them know, IT WAS YOUR LANE. 23. Ensure that when merging into traffic travelling at any more than 40kph that you stop in the merging lane, backing up traffic for miles behind you, ensuring that you have given yourself or no-one else that opportunity to merge. Again, forget that the traffic handbook states that you should speed up to meet traffic speed then merge. If you are travelling in a lane near a merge lane, don't changes lanes to make it easy for them, instead see rule 24, after all they deserve it. 24. While using Canberra roundabouts, particularly two lane roundabouts, ENSURE that you are in the left lane to turn right, or the right to turn left, hell lets keep those people in those other lanes on their toes. 25. If you are an Action bus driver, you must win at all costs, getting to your destination prior to any other driver is life and death. Never worry about your passengers bouncing round in the back like tennis balls, hell it's a cheap form of theme park, in fact Canberra's very own. 26. Canberra Cabs, see rule 25, except you are now qualifying for the GMC 400. 29. Pedestrian crossings - What are they?27* sorry moreResolved Question: is travel/living in panama safe?

I am hoping people in either of these professions could give me some advice. I am thinking of changing career from geologist to one of these professions, but really would like some advice. I am a mature single mom of two and really don't like any profession that involves fieldwork. Occasional field work will be ok, but not to be main part of the job. I used to travel a lot as a geologist and that was before the kids came along. Now, it is not possible for me to travel for extended period of time, hence I am looking at changing career to a career that would allow me stay in the office , a sort of 9 to 5 job. I don't mind going to school for two years for training and I was looking at Petroleum Engineering Technology or instrumentation and control technology at SAIT in Alberta. Basically, a career that is not very restrictive as geology.Geology is a very restrictive profession and besides, works are mostly available in Alberta. I don't mind but I would like something that has extensive work opportunities in any province, yet still pay good money to take care of my family. Is instrumentation and control a good career for a woman or is it a man thing? does it involves lots of travelling, what are the jobs prospects in Canada and salary? Which of these two will be a good career in the long term- in terms of flexibility, growth potential, work-life balance and salary. Please any advice will be highly welcome. Also, what about a career as an environmental health and safety(EHS) officer. I have worked as an environmental scientist before and just wondering if I could look into this career. Are there post secondary schools that offer at least two years training in EHS. I have been checking different schools in Alberta and BC for this course but no success. Please do anyone know how I can get into this profession (that is on the assumption that it does not require frequent travelling). Any advice will be welcome and thanks for taking the time to read and reply.I love mathematics a lot and would like a career that has some mathematics in it.Hi BOX18, I will look into the reservoir engineering technology, but I am not sure if any of the Canadian colleges offer it. (ideas for a book)?
Hi there. I'm thinking of writing a book about a world-over civil war after research is poured into space travel and looking for a habitable planet to settle down. Thing is I need some perspectives as to why you wouldn't want to colonise another planet, considering all the things wrong with this one. any views at all would be fantastic, evne if you are for such a thing it would add maybe an extra character into the story for the other side. Also, if you wondering and it makes any difference, we will have lightspeed travel capability after extensive research, several shuttle all over the world preparing to be launched, and the planet we would travel to is an actual one we found in 2011 that is habitable, link is below. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gliese_581_g again, thanks for any helpI think I'd have to proof-read my book before I do anything with it, just this quesion is terrible in grammar and spelling without proof-readingAlot of ideas thrown in here are also ideas for my book!I have alot more ideas to throw in but Don't want to reveal them, because however lame it sounds, who knows how many book idea ninjas hide on R&S?*shifty eyes*Patient, the basics of the idea probably have been done before yes, but I have an idea that I think will slot in more. And I wasn't asking for book ideas, I was asking for opinions of real people that I could add into my book. Im sure the big novel writters ask people who have been in the military what its like, or ask people who have been stabbed what that feels like to add more detail and realism (If thats a word...) to it. moreResolved Question: Driving from Melbourne to Adelaide. Are 4 days enough?
Hi! I'm planning to do an extensive roadtrip through eastern Australia but would need some travel advice especially on time management. I've got about 13 days to visit Melbourne, go to Tasmania (another short campingtrip there) and drive all the way to Adelaide. As it is planned now, I would spend one day exploring Melbourne and fly into Hobart the next morning to spend six days doing a roadtrip in Tasmania. As soon as I'm back in Melbourne I'd like to start driving towards Adelaide. For this distance I have scheduled 4 days, adding another one for kangaroo island and a sixth that can be spent in Adelaide. What do you guys think about that? I would love to take it slower and spend more time at the individual places but I'm afraid that's not possible because I'll have to go to Cairns after that. Is it at least somehow sufficient to get quite an insight in this part of the country? I'm more of a nature and bushwalking person anyways so I thought I could cut the city time short. Please let me know if you have advice for me! It would also help me a lot if you knew a couple of beautyful places that I definitely shouldn't miss. Thanks a lot!sorry that i wasn't clear. i don't only want to drive the distance, i'd like to stop at a lot of interesting places in between and possibly also do some bush walking. i don't want to rush trough it, i'd rather like to take up as much of this area as possible.what about my six days in tasmania? is it a better idea to shorten it by one day to have another one for the great ocean road or kangaroo island?thanks for your answers! moreResolved Question: Why would (Silver Age) Superman win in a fight against Goku?
I know pre-crisis Supe is ridiculously powerful with abilities that borderlines stupid; but really; Superman has 2 weakness Krypton and Magic. In the DBZ world, the fighters practice Ki mixed with martial arts. They practice to increase their ki levels. Ki in every way is a life-force and has magical/mystical element. DBZ uses ki in many forms: flight, shield, strength, and projectiles. And Goku had ridiculously amount of ki levels by the end of DBGT. If ki is magical, Goku has and uses Ki, why couldn't Goku hurt Superman with it? Another word for Ki is Chi (like in Ying Yang, Tai Chi)... Only in the DBZ world this is extremely exaggerated. Reference to ki power levels. http://www.myfavoritegames.com/dragonball-z/Info/Dragonball-Z-PowerLevels.htm Comparison: Kid Goku at power-level 180 was able to move faster than sight, and nearly as fast as light or faster. He was able to move so fast and slowly down just briefly to leave an image of him behind. When Piccolo was at power-level 1400-3500 at episode 22, he was able to destroy the moon. Vegeta's power level 18,000 when he easily destroyed a planet-- this is before he was converted to the good guys and before he was ssj. Vegata after a near-death experience ki level went from 18000 to 24000 (25% increase). Goku powerlevel during the Namek Saga is about 90,000 based. About 5x the power Vegeta had to effortlessly destroy a planet. Using Kaio-ken, he can go 20x his base power in short burst. His powerlevel before he transform to a SSJ for the first time was 3,000,000!!! Goku as a SSJ = 15,000,000. This is 833+ times the powerlevel needed to destroy a planet. That is several star systems! Let's keep going. Cell games. Goku was 120,00,000! About over 6000x the power to destroy a planet. Gohan was the first to reach SSJ2, and this was 325,000,000! Goku's SSJ2 was 360,000,000 or 20,000x the power to destroy a planet. Majin Buu was this magical creature that destroy galaxies and was a threat to the universe (about same power level as silver-age Superman??) this was 500,000,000. So this is the power level needed to destroy a galaxy. Goku SSJ3 was about the same strength as Majin Buu; however he can only maintain SSJ3 form for short period of time. Goku at the end of the DBZ series was 500,000,000. At the GT series, through series of extensive training, Goku's non-SSJ form was stronger than both Gohan and Goten's SSJ form. Other considerations: (Silver age) Superman can hold a mini black hole, can move planets, take out a dead solar system with a sneeze, and travel much faster than light Goku can harass the destructive power equal to obliterate a galaxy; when powering up his presence can be felt across the galaxy and across dimensions and the after-life. He can sense ki across the galaxy and can instantly teleport anywhere he can lock on ki -- including the afterlife. He fights so fast he can fight in inner-space; Goku has also lift and thrown the heaviest known matter in the universe (this is before he even was able to go SSJ4). By the end of DB GT, Goku had the powerlevel of 1 billion, and was the strongest fighter in that universe. SILVER-AGE/Pre-Crisis Superman or not, I don't think Superman can take on maximum power Goku as easy as anyone thinks. We're are talking about taking the most powerful characters from 2 different universes. At the end several galaxies would be destroyed in their fight. And even if they are both equal in terms of power; Goku loves to fight, and is a fighting genius... that gives him an edge over Silver-Age superman who never really had much fighting experience. Then again, Superman can be hurt by ki, simply because ki has magical elements to it. What do you think?I pulled it from here:http://www.myfavoritegames.com/dragonball-z/Info/Dragonball-Z-PowerLevels.htm Some of them are guesses; and are based of other events in Manga, Movies, and relative terms. As far as Ki, there is ki in our world... and Ki in storybooks and legends... "Chi Magic" or "Chi Spells" use to combat demons, ghost, otherworlds, seal them away, open up portals, etc. Since we're talking story telling and comics books, why not?Ki is not magic i a pure. But storybook Ki shared many mystical elements; espeically in a sense to fight evil magical beings. If anything, Ki is spiritual/supernatural (again in lores/and storybooks); and in the DC world Superman has been seen to be damaged by supernatural things. So there is a chance that ki can hurt Superman.===========================================Proof saiyans can obliterate a Galaxy in 5 seconds:===========================================Broly in Movie 8: Oblirating a galaxy movie opening:Opening prologue: "The sout moreResolved Question: Auto Accident - Got T-Boned?
Situation: Was traveling on a four lane divided road(two lanes each way). Went through a traffic light about 500 feet to next traffic light. About 1/3 the way there my lane was clear(right side) while left side was backed up, not moving to next traffic light. Traffic lanes change to four lanes when it hits next far light. Two turning left, the lane I was in goes straight & also creates a right turn lane about 150 away from traffic light. About 250 feet from the traffic light there was an intersection that comes across traffic which I was unaware of - do not travel in this area much. Medium also had trees in it with the road gently turning to the left. Anyway light at intersection turned green which caused traffic to my left to start moving. Last thing I remember is a grey blur to my left then I got knocked out similar to anesthesia. Seemed like a bad dream. Next thing I remember is being in an ambulance - short term memory is gone. Did not remember the accident until 90 minutes afterward. As we are driving away I see my car out of ambulance back window & remark" Is that my car?". Could not remember any contact phone numbers which were changed in say last 10 years. "Supposedly" I was walking around the wreck & discussing what happened. Do not remember that at all. After a day or so I came to realization that the guy crossed traffic, failing to yield right away, between two cars which were not moving & I could not see him & vice versa. Aftermath Taken to hospital in an ambulance at which time I do remember the EMT's saying I had a circular memory. I had a concussion as a child so I new this was not good. They ran a CT scan on me. Had extensive burns on my forearm about 3" long starting @ my wrist with minor sore/bruises on left leg & arm. Apparently I got burned from airbag canister heat. Do not remember that at all. Also had a mild hemotoma about the size of a golf ball on my head & a concussion. Was in emergency room for about 5 hours which as I was leaving I was given a speeding ticket from an unfriendly Police Officer. Speed limit was 35 MPH to which officer gave me a 50 MPH ticket. Officer said I had hit someone to which I stated how could I since I was going straight with no one in front of me. He then said my recollection of the accident was incorrect, however later I determined he was wrong about the number of traffic signals there were. Last thing I remember was traveling about 35 MPH. Traffic Court Hired a lawyer, lawyer said I should be able to win without him, however I felt officer had it out for me. In court all the officer had was witness testimony of guy who hit me & a friends testimony which was thrown out so the ticket was dismissed. After my ticket was dismissed then the other insurance company is paying for for damages. Police report shows I hit him with front of my car where impact was to side of my car just in front of my front wheel & he says I was not paying attention. I missed 9 days of work after the accident & about 5 days more for appointments($25/hr is my pay). I had tremors for about 3 weeks afterwords & had trouble talking/thinking for about 2 weeks. The day of the accident was the same day my grandmother died in another state so I missed her funeral. My brother died possibly contributed to me not coming to funeral & his bipolar disorder worrying about me. He became obsessed that I was going to lose everything which is not true since I am not at fault. Traffic lawyer cost me $500. Officer was a bit miffed. Could hear him talking to judge & judge comment was "NO matter what witness testimony even if they were present would have changed the NOT Guilty verdict." This was the first case in traffic court & I am sure that Judge/Police Officer were not happy that they lost the case therefore SET a bad precedent for the remaining cases. Damages/Compensation Looking for advice on compensation. I know $500 is too small & $200,000 is too large. What should I ask for? Should I get a lawyer or handle this myself? Total Bills cost not counting the lawyer & car is $6500 plus lost wages(used annual/leave of about $1200. What is a fair amount to ask for? Getting a Neurologist to examine my back since I already have spinal stenosis & previous concussions. She should be able to compare previous MRI, about 5 years ago, to current one to determine if I have any damages. Also have an outstanding bill for ambulance. Thanks for the time. moreTop Extensive Travel Links
