Apparently there are three varieties of them, but I only knew of one. 2-4-6-8-2 syllables per line; 5 lines. I'm glad that a couple of people did write what a cinquain is for the others that do not know. Thanks. neonman, you caught me -- all this time of reading and rereading it, I missed the syllable counts on the first cinquain. Thanks! This personal statement is for the University of Illinois at Chicago. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Here is the personal statement... Passion… What is passion? Merriam-Webster defines passion as a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept. I have very much struggled with the idea of finding my passion since I read an article about choosing your college major or career. The idea is that you should aim to make your major symmetric with your future goals or career. Until recently, I honestly had no clue what those were. I’ve struggled in the past with having a “thing,” as some would call it. I’m very good at most things, I take to things easily, and I am a fast learner. However, my struggle has been that I haven’t really had any specific or narrow interests. I mean, sure I like a lot of things, but I struggled to choose one over the other. This previous problem with interests led me into a very difficult path when it came to college. What could my major be? I had no clue. My previous motivation for finding a major had honestly been money. That’s why I chose engineering as my previous major. You see it everywhere. It’s on everyone’s mind. It seems that a major goal of today’s people is to achieve wealth. I believe that I have overcome that understanding of life. I had always been told that money does not bring happiness, and had seldom believed it. Money can get you a car, a house, electronics, and more. How could anyone possibly think that money does not bring happiness? Everyone desires happiness which can be achieved in a variety of different ways. However, money does not directly inspire it. The happiness that I seek is one of importance. I would like to be an active participant in the world around me. I desire to do what I love day after day. I long, to spend my time, with other creative individuals. I crave life. Right now, I view your school as a gateway to life. I’m sure that there are multiple schools that could potentially be my gateway. However, I desire to travel through yours. I believe that your school of Art and Design, truly is the right pathway for me; the pathway to knowledge, an interesting life, a rewarding career, as well as rewarding relationships with all who I encounter. First I would like to address that I want no ignorant answers, meaning "weed is bad because: it kills people, it's illegal, the bible says..." Marijuana, is Not addictive except for mental addiction the term gateway drug is subjective IMO because while it does introduce people to other drugs/connections, would it still be a gateway drug if it was legal, eliminating a black market industry and connections to other drugs? Here's what I use my computer for: School (Microsoft office) I travel with my laptop everywhere so weight in important Download, Music, Movies - I watch more movies on my computer than I do on my TV. I want a laptop that runs at very minimum heat. My computer now Gateway MT6451 is always HOT. Battery Life is somewhat important. SPEED, I need a computer that will not lag when I use 3 or 4 different computers. Burning CD's, but burnign dvds would be nice Fixing pictures, not photoshop, but something that will help me to fix my pictures up a little bit. I need this computer to get me through school, durability and it being able to last is really important to me. I was looking into the VAIOs today at Best buy, looked amazing, and then I ran across a company called ASUS, dont know much about them. What laptop would you suggest? I do not like gateway or acer, and dont like dell. Looking for either HP, sony, or any other brand you may know of. Please dont mention buying a MAC, I dont want it. Here's my price range: 1,000-1,500 a hundred more or less is fine as long as its worth it. more

Voting Question: What is the major advantage of owning a Toshiba Satellite Laptop over a Dell or Gateway. I am shopping for a

laptop and don't know too much about them. My main use would be for doing Ebay or Internet while on the move so my laptop needs internet capabilities. I was looking into the Dell and Gateway with wireless internet(is this a separate subscription) but then came across the Toshiba Satellite laptops..The "Satellite" got my atention. Does this mean I can use anywhere because of satellite capabilites. Please if you own or have experience a Toshiba Satellite laptop, I would greatly appreciate feedback. How satisfied are you with its internet service and is this an expensive separate thing I have to sign up for. I know with the wireless I can use "hot spots" etc or a router at home....Just thought there maybe huge benefits to using a Satellite laptop as this can mean I can use it while travelling. So, I have the old blue nano that's 4g. And when I was in Minnesota, I charged it up in my travel stero system and the next morning ALL 700+ songs were gone. So, we just got a new Acer computer and my old computer with my itunes library is on the Gateway one in the garage since we just moved. But, I only have the hard-drive. We threw out the screen, keyboard, + mouse I think. So, how do I get my songs on the hold hard-drive back to this Acer computer? Please help! more

I just got this new laptop 4 days ago and I see there is a wireless internet switch on it. I am not sure what this means. If I travel, do I automatically have wireless internet or do I have to purchase an internet card for it? Dell Computer Company contracted with Adam for purchase of a new laptop computer. Dell contracted with Doug to deliver the computer to Adam, who resides at 1616 First Street in Lockemdown. The box was open and to all appearances empty. In fact, there was lying flat on the bottom of the box, a valuable framed picture belonging to Edna, the owner of the box. While Doug continued on his way down Second Street, Frank, Edna’s two year old son, climbed into the large cardboard box. Doug pulled onto the driveway at 1212 and went to the door with the box to be delivered. Doug rang the doorbell and Charlie opened the door. Doug announced that he was there to deliver a package. Charlie stated that he was not expecting any deliveries and inquired as to the name and address on the package. After Doug and Charlie looked at and read the name and address, it became apparent that Doug was at the wrong address. Doug apologized to Charlie and went back to his delivery vehicle. Doug headed in the opposite direction on Second Street. Frustrated with the time he had wasted going to the wrong address, Doug made no effort to avoid the cardboard box and negligently ran over it. I recently purchased a Verizon Aircard and i purchased a new gateway laptop with Windows Vista i downloaded the program and driver i travel with my husband all over the US he is a truck driver but it doesnt work now and i have uninstalled it completely and reinstalled it but it still will not work it freezes my system during installation or it will say it can't find the driver, or it wont load the webpages is it a problem with my system or is it the aircard driver? A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company. 1. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put 'PHOTO ID REQUIRED.' 2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the 'For' line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it. 3. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. &nb sp;Never have your SS# printed on your checks. (DUH!) You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have It printed, anyone can get it. 4. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either here or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a Name, address, Social Security number, credit cards. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them. 6. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one). But here's what is perhaps most important of all: (I never even thought to do this.) 7. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud line number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an applicatio n for credit was made over the internet in my name.
