Open Question: 19-20 year old girls night!?
Hi, my friends and I are having a get together friday night as a last little hoorah before we all go back to school, travel, get second and third jobs etc. We're having an overnight potluck at one of my friend's houses. We usually just go to clubs on the weekends, but we don't want to do that this weekend. We want a good catch up kind of night with games, drinks, food and best friends. What are some fun games and things we could do, for free of course seeing as we're all young and broke! moreOpen Question: How to get into Cornell..?

The good old UN have declared Australia racist after a 'report' It is complete and utter bullshit. You see Indian students in Melbourne travel alone, late at night and with valuables... this makes them an easy target for the scourge of society like drug dealers nothing to do with race. Anyway give me some anti UN stuff -didnt stop America going to law -its treaties and such are more or less bullshit if you dont follow them they do nothing eg: see America go to war and give the UN the middle finger -It is a boys club made up of selective elitism that serve only to meet their own personal needs WHAT ELSE say bad stuff about UN and get points moreOpen Question: Why do club speakers delay?
I sometimes notice that in nightclubs that the back speakers sometimes delay by about half a second. I usually think that it has something to do with the connectivity with having a problem such as the sound signal taking longer to travel down long wire. I'm mad about sound systems, and this question is just a matter of interest. moreOpen Question: Rec Soccer player to try out for Travel?
Hello! I am going into my 2nd year of Rec Soccer, and I am doing pretty well my coach says. I've heard people going on travel teams that aren't good at all. I'm a sophomore this year in high school and I play for one of the top teams in the my state. We travel to the top tournaments (like WAGS, Jeff Cup, CASL, etc). This year I opted not to play high school soccer because it was extremely political and my coaches disrespected me. I am in all honors classes in school and decided to focus on doing more clubs and volunteer work this year and the next years of high school since I wouldn't be playing for the soccer team. I was wondering, will college coaches frown upon the fact that I'm not playing high school soccer? Everyone always says that high school soccer is irrelevant.. but I'm worried that it's not & a college coach won't want me on his team because I elected not to play for my high school. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! moreResolved Question: What kind of things have you learned from the movies, or as we call them the pictures?
These are the things that I have learned. During all police investigations it will be necessary to visit a strip club at least once. If being chased through town, you can usually take cover in a passing St. Patrick's Day parade - at any time of the year. All beds have special L-shaped cover sheets which reach up to the armpit level on a woman but only to waist level on the man lying beside her. All grocery shopping bags contain at least one stick of French Bread. It's easy for anyone to land a plane providing there is someone in the control tower to talk you down. Once applied, lipstick will never rub off - even while scuba diving. The ventilation system of any building is the perfect hiding place. Nobody will ever think of looking for you in there and you can travel to any other part of the building you want without difficulty. There is never any dust or lint in the ventilation ducts. If you need to reload your gun, you will always have more ammunition - even if you haven't been carrying any before now. You're very likely to survive any battle in any war unless you make the mistake of showing someone a picture of your sweetheart back home. Should you wish to pass yourself off as a German officer, it will not be necessary to speak the language. A German accent will do. If your town is threatened by an imminent natural disaster or killer beast, the mayor's first concern will be the tourist trade or his forthcoming art exhibition. The Eiffel Tower can be seen from any window in Paris. A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beating but will wince when a woman tries to clean his wounds. If a large pane of glass is visible, someone will be thrown through it before long. When paying for a taxi, don't look at your wallet as you take out a bill - just grab one at random and hand it over. It will always be the exact fare. Kitchens don't have light switches. When entering a kitchen at night, you should open the refrigerator door and use that light instead. At night, women should investigate any strange noises in their most revealing underwear. Mothers routinely cook eggs, bacon and waffles for their family every morning even though their husband and children never have time to eat it. Cars that crash will almost always burst into flames or explode. The Chief of Police will always suspend his star detective or give him 48 hours to finish the job. A single match will be sufficient to light up a room the size of a baseball stadium. Medieval peasants had perfect teeth. Although in the present day it is possible to fire weapons at an object out of our visual range, people of the 23rd century will have lost this technology. Any person waking from a nightmare will sit bolt upright and pant. It is not necessary to say hello or goodbye when beginning or ending phone conversations. It only wastes time. All bombs are fitted with electronic timing devices with large red digital readouts so you know exactly when they're going to go off. It is always possible to park directly outside the building you are visiting. It does not matter if you are heavily outnumbered in a fight involving martial arts. Your enemies will wait patiently to attack you one by one by dancing around in a threatening manner until you have knocked out their predecessors. Police Departments give their officers personality tests to make sure they are deliberately assigned a partner who is their total opposite. When they are alone, all foreigners prefer to speak English to each other. You can always find a chainsaw when you need one. Television news bulletins usually contain a story that affects you personally at that precise moment. moreOpen Question: Will I be able to get into Michigan State University?

I'm planning to visit vegas Sep 29 to Oct 1st (wed and thurs night) I've shortlisted three hotels to stay in. Rates below are the combined rates for *BOTH* nights (a good weekday deal :) ) 1) Bally's - $80 (standard)/ $120 (the better room) 2) Flamingo - $90 (standard) / $130 (the better room) 3) Planet Hollywood - $100 (standard) / $130 (for the better room) I know that all three belong to the same chain and all three dont charge the notorious resort fee I saw the room pics of all the three and read some reviews. All of them have descent reviews I need some help choose a good one. I'm traveling with my girl friend and we are 20s. I've been to Vegas twice before and so I know the place, but stayed before in other properties. Here is my criteria 1. There should be a good chance to get a strip view (and may be the fountain view) with or without upgrade/tipping 2. A good club downstairs 3. Not too expensive food. I know the buffet in PH is quite good. 4. Any deals/combos for food or shows. okay im a 20 year old college student at Colorado State- Pueblo, and i have yet to meet people who love to do what i love to do and are nice, passionate people; people like me. i love traveling, outdoors, adventures, extreme sports and music for my main passions! and at college , as a sophomore transfer student i find it extremely hard to meet people like me. im a sociable, nice funny person who has friends, just not ones like me. ive joined clubs and am going rafting and backpacking, but only a portion of students live on campus (20%), and theyre mostly freshman i want to travel the world. i dont care about careers i just wanna see the world spreading Gods love with those i love. if you think thats stupid, thats irrelevent (i respect you!), i just want to know what other routes there are in life to meet true friends aside from college, cuz im sick of it. moreResolved Question: Traveling To Disney Need Advice!?

I guess it happens to each and everyone of us , generation gap , bad aging, all that stuff but lately when I come back it s really cringing to talk with my parents .The thing is I m living abroad and currently I m compelled to stay here for visa reason , can t afford going to the hotel so I am compelled to crash at my parents home . my father is retired (he took it very hard even if he spent his time bitching about his work). Doesn t have any real hobbies (goes back and forth tv and computer all day long). Doesn t belong to any cultural club .No social activity . Hates to travel and isn t even aware that sometimes he s borderline racist behind its veneer of understanding . Know s... about sport . Has a knack for monopolizing conversation with his opinion (some of our dinner talk is merely my dad talking while my mother and I listen . ) and he has an opinion for everything . my mother doesnt know much either but at least she is very keen to travel , have an active social life a job and so on . Still things like social media , asia , world soccer aren t very fashionable topic here ... not her world either .... I guess I could talk about my life but even if getting personal is a key principle of good conversation I can t do that too much here : my pop loves to lecture us and tell us how to lead our life...There is a limit to how much effort I m ready to make .Getting blamed at my private life and personal decision is one of them. It s already hard to relate but when my litlle sister comes back it becomes really troublesome....She s accostumed to L.A pace and lifestyle .... the generation gap is even more obvious and my sister find very hard to put up with this charade .... Clearly I have to PREPARE topics before I go dinner with my folks !!!and finding common ground for everyone grows harder and harder.... once it s on I m good at managing the whole thing by passing the ball , checking everyone gets its turn ,asking questions , cutting threads to keep things lively ... but finding a good topic... I m plugged to my RSS reader , twitter to find latest topic but even like that it s not easy ....I NEED at least 4 topics a day . Any idea for a source of topic ? I have most social bookmarking and trend site rssed (digg, stumbleupon , reddit, yahoo buzz ,tweetmeme ), news website . moreVoting Question: need help with God and LIFE...?
im a 20 year old sophomore transfer student at Colorado State-Pueblo, and am struggling to meet people. I love outdoors, traveling, adventures and extreme sports, etc., and am also into God, so at my college i joined outdoor activities like rafting and a week long backpacking trip in december, and a Christ club. the Christ club didnt seem to have people that are into stuff im into, and the rafting and backpacking trips have only 15 people, so thats a risk that i wont meet people that i can get along with and are actually my age, because about 1000 students live on campus, and the other 4000 live off campus, but i hear many off campus students do clubs also. i know exactly what i want in life and who i want to be friends with, and im trying to be patient and faithful, but my whole life ive had friends come and go (some that i purposley dropped contact with), and if i dont meet people like me, who wanna travel the world and do care about societies norms/careers, i dont know what im gonna do. im a good, fun to be around person, but for some reason i havent met friends i want and need, any advice?? moreVoting Question: struggling with God and friends....?

No portuguese people around here? moreVoting Question: How can I stop feeling jaded and bored with life?
I feel a little petty and selfish for even asking this question, but I thought I might as well have some sort of output for feeling like this. Over the past few months, I've noticed myself becoming more distant from my life. I don't really care about anything anymore, don't feel motivated to do anything, and don't really care what the next day will bring. I know there are a lot of factors that have led me to feeling like that. Stuff like being overworked at my job and the stressful time of dealing the the divorce of my parents are two of the biggest ones. It's not that I'm overly stressed or anything, it's just that I've stopped caring about anything. In fact, I'm obscenely bored with life more than anything else. I try to spice things up by planning trips, things to do on the weekends, splurging on fun things to do, all of that. Those things are kind of cool when they're happening, but as soon as they're over I'm back to feeling as if I'm in a rut and have no reason to look forward to anything anymore. Here's the other thing, and is the reason I felt like even bringing this up might feel selfish. I really have nothing whatsoever to complain about. I have a gorgeous wife, a steady job, a really nice house, don't have any financial difficulties. On paper, I've got it made. But in my mind, I feel like Ed Norton's character at the beginning of Fight Club. I'm unmotivated and unchallenged, and more or less completely jaded with life in general. I was reading an article online a few weeks ago in which the author talked about fearing death. I thought about this for a little while and realized that I really don't fear it at all. I'm in no way suicidal or anything, but I realized that no longer dealing with life would be more than welcome. I've done the things I've wanted to do. I've travelled to different places, met great people, done a lot of the things I've wanted to do. I'm not exactly the most religious person in the world, but not the least either. My faith keeps me going sometimes, but even that feels like going through the motions. If I were to suddenly die tomorrow, I really wouldn't care either way. I don't feel like I have anything else left that I really want to do anyways, so why would it really matter? Anyways, I mostly just wanted to throw those thoughts out to oblivion. I guess what advice I'm looking for if any, is how to get out of this? How do I start actually looking forward to the next day? How do I find purpose? How do I get energy and enthusiasm back in life? moreOpen Question: What is this show called? I forgot the name?
In 2003 or 2004, they showed a TV show (about 6 or 7 episodes) on Rai Educational TV in order to teach English. It was about a young man who travels to England to join in an Football Club, there he is quite good and he also is admired by the coach but obtains the jealousy of the coach's son and so he mixes up his drug test and they accuse him of having taken drugs. I remember in the early episodes, he forgets the name of his hotel and is thrown out and he tells the fitness trainer or nurse something( I can't remember) that his girlfriend is supermodel in his country. At some point in the show there is a love triangle between the girl, man and supermodel. moreResolved Question: Why is Rajnikanth the undisputed superstar of India?
A new movie for Superstar Rajnikanth is going to be released staring Rajnikanth and Aishvary Rai called Robot. Many years back when I was touring Cheanni, a movie with named "Padyappa" or something like that was being released, and remember people praying posters of Rajnikanth, they were poring milk on movie posters, cracking coconut in front of posters, offering garlands, entire traffic was jam, I travel across India, but I have not seen such mass hysteria anywhere else for any other movie star. May be some extend Chiranjeevee has fan following to similar extend in AP but I don't think to same extend. I don't think Superstar of Hindi Cinema has such mass following for him any where in India including his own city, and he never had even during his best days. Even today, Rajnikanth has over 100 registered fans club in India and Amitabh has only 20. At one time Rajnikanth and Kamal Hasan had completion but today, as far as name and fame is concerned, Rajnikanth is undisputed superstar of Tamil cinema. Rajanikanth is not a politician but often gives political statements that have impact, he is not a spiritual leader but sometimes gives spiritual statements and people pay attention to that. He is a real entertainer, but his most of the movies are entertaining only, unlike Kamal Hasan where he has art, or Amitabh's Paa or Black where he does experiments, still Rajnikanth is THE HERO. What is the reason for such mass fan following for Mr. Rajnikanth, the undisputed superstar of Tamil cinema, who leads in fan following to any superstar of India including Amitabh Bachhan the superstar of the millennium?Raj Kish Sir, while opening this question, I had Bull sir's avatar in my mind :), I was expecting him to write a an elaborate answer on this subject, and I was expecting me to select his answer as a best answer, I had made up my mind before even opening the question that Mr. Bull is my BA candidate for this question :) But Mr. Bull does not give me opportunity. Just a joke guys, don't take seriously... I have not said Rajnikanth is a better actor than others, like in Hindi Cinema, AB is not better actor than Om Puri or Nasiruddin Shah though he is better entertainer. Same way, Kamal Hasan is better actor than Rajani, but not a better entertainer. I like both. I am Rajnikanth's fan, I don't need to understand his dialogues. moreVoting Question: I am doing a survey for a summer club ...?

I'm so confused?
I'm a Guy 18 she is 17 we are like family friends, me and her have known each other since we were babies we acturally have baby pictures together even one kissing lol I don't know how we are babies then. Anyway though the years me and her were the greatest friends ever doing everything together. Movies, beach, travel, the gym (me workout her only to keep in shape) and even clubbing. So yesterday was my 18th birthday now I noticed she was dressed in a big shirt and interesting skirt she always dresses up sexy but that wasn't her. So she hugs me tells me happy birthday and our parents tell us go to my room to hang out and she gave me her gifts, an Ed hardy shirt, the rocky DVD collection and well something unexpected. She said "I have a special gift for you" she took off her skirt and shirt and there was a white bra and a belly dancer skirt and she popped kissed me and whispered "happy birthday baby" And she walk back a couple of steps and started belly dancing really sensual. Slowing something fast moving her hips I was in shock and the best birthday gift o my life but then mom walked ain and (my mom treats her a like a daughter) and started yelling and got really mad saying WTF is this what are you doing watching her dance like that. I'm so confused first why did she give such an intimate birthday gift and two why did my mother get so mad we weren't doing anything bad or sexual. I am looking for ideas of what to do this Halloween 2010. All of the events I see listed so far are Club events with DJs and dance parties. I love dancing, but I was thinking of something a little more unique. Me and my hubby are going as Beauty and Gaston, and my dress is pretty elaborate, and would be ruined at a club anyways. I was thinking of something along the lines of a Masquerade or Banquet. Not necessarily too fancy, but something with a cool experience. Maybe a haunted tour or some sort of play? We live in Chilliwack, so we'd be willing to travel to any metro area in the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley. (We'd also consider outdoors or camping events) moreVoting Question: Can you use an Australian drivers license as photo ID/Age verification for Pubs/Clubs in the United States?
I don't wish to have to carry my passport with me when I travel to America in a few months. Can I use my Australian drivers license as proof of age? moreResolved Question: NYC, Spain, or Great Britain?
I have 3 opportunities for traveling this year, but there's a bit of a problem. I went on a People to People trip this summer, and now I have the chance to go to Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales. However, for Spanish 3 this year I have the chance to go to Spain for the week of spring break. Last but not least, my drama club is going to New York City for President's Day weekend. I initially ruled this one out, but my mother has always wanted to go to NYC, and I really want her to go one day. I really want to do the People to People trip, because it's way more than any other tourist experience, and I would love to have another homestay. But then again, I don't want to be selfish and have all the travel experience to myself. Please help me with this decision, and thank you in advance! PS: Who excited for the trolls to go back to school? moreVoting Question: How to meet my type of friends?
It seems like its hard to make friends now days. People are busy with their careers, family, traveling and goals in life. All very unstandable. I'm 27 years old, good job, degree, independent but I find it hard to meet desirable friends. I don't trust people like I should because a lot of people are full of crap (not complaing, just tellling the truth). I don't go to chruch, not into the happy hour/bar scene, do not like to hang out with co-workers because they talk abd about ppl on the job, and I'm into the club scene. I look around and people form this ass tight clicks that are impossible to break into. I have a few select friends that I have but I feel I could do much better. I would like to meet some real friends that I can get excited about. People who are non-judgemental and good people overall. Any ideas? moreResolved Question: I'm plannig a trip to Aberdeen (Scotland) for this winter, could you please help me with some information?
I'd like to know, aproximately, the price of the following: - Transportation from Aberdeen to Glasgow , from Aberdeen to Edinburgh, and from Glasgow to Edinburgh (and which ways to travel are the best?) - How much do you spend for a meal in a restaurant, not very expensive? - How much do you spend when you go to a pub or a night club (price of drinks, cover, etc.)? - How much for using public transport, inside the city? - How cold is the weather in December? Does it rain, or snow too much? - Any suggestion, of any topic, that you'd like to tell me? Thank you very much, in advance. Any answer will help. Have you ever met a person beyond middle age who has (and has never had) NO hobbies or interests? I mean- nothing. Not art, not crafts, not photography, no scrapbooking, sewing, no knitting, cooking, gardening, writing, painting. No sports, tennis, golf, exercise like yoga or pilates, no swimming. No gym no health club. No bike riding. Not travel, not hiking not sailing, not wine or "fine dining" experiences. No houseplants. No interior decorating. No collections, nor "favorite" anything. No social groups, no book clubs. No charity events, no pets, no volunteer work. No favorite authors, no music (a fewer than 5 CD's), no musical instrument. No dancing. Nothing. The person has always had a very comfortable income and time to enjoy life but has never had a single hobby. I find it perplexing. What do you think? (PS the person is not depressed or anything. She has just never pursued anything her entire life)I'm not saying she sits there like a vegetable. I'm saying that she has no interests and never has. She's retired, 67 years old and has never had a single interest or hobby. moreVoting Question: Ugh! College Question. I want to apply to Touro College & Stony Brook University. They're both SUNY schools, and I am currently a senior in high school in Bergen County, New Jersey. I have a 3.2 GPA, but my SAT scores are low. I got a combined score of a 1510. i've been with her for 5 years, we met at uni where you have to be slightly cheap and thrifty in order to be able to socialise.... drink. but that was years ago. we've come back from travelling and both have really good jobs, circa £26k where things can only get better.... but she's so cheap. she wont go out for a meal because of the money, she only drinks water because it's free (i drink tap water as well but i enjoy a coke or a smoothie every now and again), she buys economy Tuna for her sandwiches to take to work because it is the cheapest filling, when we go shopping she always wants to get the cheapest cuts of meat..... liver, kidneys, makeral, cheapest mince, stewing steak, reduced section warrior if you know what i mean. And when she wants to drink alcohol it is always the cheapest cider or vodka. Even when her friends or I drag her to a club for the night she'll carry a bottle of vodka in her boots so she can just pay for a coke and top it up at the bar. The funniest part is that she comes from a rich family. They bought her nice car and still pay for the insurance on it, she never paid rent when she lived at home and thinks it's outrageous that i did after i turned 18 and was working. they still pay for her horse fees.... stables etc. i love her but it's driving me mad. i earn slightly more and she has to drive a bit further to work but it's like she is in a race/competition with me to see who is better. I want to be able to buy a coffee with her at a coffee shop, or go out for a meal with her once a week or even once a month but she is cheap about everything!!! anyone else been in this position? we have no debts and can/are quite comfortably saving £1500-1000 each month EACH..... but what good is saving if it's making you miserable and your not actually saving for anything of substance? moreResolved Question: Is My Mum Being Sexist?
My mum always tells me to do the housework, and when my brothers stay over, she doesn't tell them to do anything. My mum is so friendly to my brothers girlfriends and wives, she thinks they are safe. When it comes to me having a boyfriend, she is too overprotective and wouldn't allow me to go travelling, parties or clubs with him. My mum would say she is doing it out of love, and wouldn't like to see me hurt. I am 27 years old. moreVoting Question: Why do young people who start families refuse to grow up?
My brother in law is 21 and has a little boy with my sister who is 19. He works long hours and always complains about how he can't go clubbing, or travelling or have fun because he has to support a family and pay his bills. Sometimes I want to tell him to grow up. If you have a child, you are excpected to act like a mature adult. You can't go clubbing or do any of that stuff anymore. I hate it when people in that age group think they can still stay up until 3:00 AM and get wasted every Friday night. He always tells me how lucky I am. Well, yeah, but I don't plan on having kids for at least another 10 years.Shauna: I'm glad you and your fiance are taking responsibility. moreResolved Question: Some questions about the Norwegian Jewel?
Okay so I'm going on the Norwegian Jewel boat in about a week and I've got some questions. 1) Are the formal dinners where you have to pay worth it? And how much are they on average? My cousin is looking to celebrate her birthday with one of those dinners and also my other cousin is also. I don't want to end up paying like 60 dollars for dinners when we could just go to the free ones. 2) Is there a disco night? I heard that there is like a disco night at Club Underground or something? And are there other theme nights also? I needa know what clothing to bring for the themes. 3) About how many days are spent on the boat itself? Not at the locations, like traveling. 4) Is there A/C everywhere in the boat? I need cool air >.> 5) Is the teen club...dirty? Like dirty dancing? I need to know because if it's dirty I don't want to go often =/ 6) How are the rooms? Are they comfy? Are they big, big enough? If you've been on the Jewel, or another Norwegian cruise boat, answer these questions if you can. Please and thank you(:Oh and also, 7) Is the FYZZ lounge only for teens or is for everyone? moreResolved Question: If I have to change one thing - doesnt he also?
its been 4 years of phone calls ,letters and proposals. Im starting to give in to him He could be all that I need, Its not mind blowing cant breathe without you love, but there is a foundation of respect and tenderness . he's older - not too much he lives abroad - thats fine...I love where he lives we only physically knew each other for 2 months but the communication is constant. I know him, he knows me . The only problem is he's request is a little off to me. He doesnt like my 2 trips a year lifestyle, he knows I wouldnt continue this if children where to 'arrive' but this is his request - 'dont travel on your own- travel with me' Thats great to travel together- he loves traveling but I still need to see more- I dont 'party' when I travel, I travel for culture and history. Im sure he trust that. I havent finished traveling yet. My request to him is to allow his manger to be at the club after hours, I dont want him to get out of bed everynight at 1am and come back at 7..I dont want to sleep alone. So we have requests - both understandable, if these requests are not met neither of us want to commit. Am I being silly - his club is his bread and butter... Is he being silly - my travels have assisted in making me who I am..I grow emotionally and spiritually after every trip. can we ask such things from each other? Do I have the right - does he? Or is it plainly obvious that Im not ready to settle down? If it was crazy, all consuming, cant live or breath without you LOVE - wouldnt I be happy to give up my lifestyle. Honesty please_ I can handle it.So - do I move there and see how things go, Or do i just cut it.Thanks Pete, I dont think you really read the q. LOL @ Michael & Vera, I know your right. Just thinking out loud..... I do that..LOL thank you xxx@ Ang {{{HUGS}}} you know a very private side of me.. so Im really listening to you. I do believe what you say about a 'night person' -he wont change that. I will be sleeoing alone. yes he is in Greece...my dream as you know is to live and love in Greece -but a dream/fantasy is not worth the risk of my spiritual self...my soul will suffer if I stop being me... I was suppose to see him in Greece this year- as you know Im now going to USA..he is meeting me in LA. and out of repesct for him I will be honest and cut it there. I have played the game this year- his weekly calls and emails I respond to- but not once have I initiated contact this year..that says alot...I think he wants the good little greek wife....I can be the nikokira but I cant be suffocated...thanks Ang.@Airpole . you know me, I think out loud..I allowed Greece to fall thru to avoid him. he came to melbourne last year and suffocated me..LOL.. i will sort it out in LA.. I just need gutz, usually Im really strong- he has managed get thru that..wierd. And your right. it wouldnt be long before I was packing to leave him..its not worth the risk, He is lovely but he leans too much towards his own needs.. I'll just keep sleeping with my Elmo heatpack LOL @ Ethan. your a sweetheart.xxx thanx for popping in. moreVoting Question: Is University really better than School life?
Unfortunately, I have spent the last four years of my life at a private all-girl's school that was also very small (30 students per year group). I found that I couldn't get along with the majority of them no matter how hard I tried, since they were hostile towards me during my first year and seemed to live a life centered around superficial entities like "hot" boys, weight loss, club music...I could go on and on. To be honest, I'm much more of a reserved person and I'm into things like films/filmmaking, reading, animation, travelling and manga. I spent my time at school mostly by myself and there were very few people my age whom I could relate to. However, on a lighter note, I have places at Warwick and Surrey University. I just wanted to ask if anyone has been to either of these places, whether or not they are good places for a person like me and if uni life is as good as people make it out to be. I really want to meet people like me and have a good group of friends; something which I haven't had for quite a while. moreResolved Question: Am i being unreasonable to my bf for wanting to go to Ibiza with my friend?
Hi everyone, I've never written on a forum before but I am getting no decent answers anywhere. Ok, I've been with my boyfriend for over 2 years, and yea we've had our ups and downs and we've just come back from travelling with around Oz for few months so I'd say our relationship is pretty solid. My friend has recently asked me to come to Ibiza with her, and I am torn. Thing is I have always wanted to go to Ibiza, and the oppotunity is too good to turn down as it is completely free. i'm nearly 22 and my partner is 23, he says we will go some day (he's already been twice with the lads and had a one night stand before we met obviously) but I doubt that as we don't get on when our body is fuelled with alcohol and he always said 'yea bit of a lads thing etc' he can be chauvinistic at times but I just tell him to shush really cuz that part of his attitude really annoys me. more bout that later... Anyways, am i being unreasonable for wanting to go, basically it is free because my friend knows a dj out there, and he plays in major clubs and that, and him and his wife are looking for girls to just sit around with him and make him look good pretty much. Its all VIP, they have their own villa, flights and food all paid for, and I get to go and party really. It is completely innocent I checked, the guy is really fussy with what the girls look like as they have to promote his music. I have no intention of cheating as I know Ibiza has a stigma attached to it, and my friend who asked me also has a boyfriend who she loves dearly. I think its such a good oppotunity, alot of people say just go. But I just want my boyfriend to be happy with it and trust me. He says that so your just going to be little dolls and rich people are going to buy you drinks etc etc. One I can say no to drink two the area will be pretty much for us girls only and three I don't like talking to guys out as it is because I have a man that i love and trust and wouldn't want to hurt him. I just want him to say yes, as I really want to go, if i 'just go' he's going to hate me! arghghghgh!! It isn't just me and my friend out there, there are several girls too and we all stay at the villa etc. Its such a good oppotunity but my boyfriend says 'do you want a single life' etc. is he being overprotective or jealous? He is naturally jealous anyways, don't like me in heels, or short dresses which is stupid i know but i compromise i don't act or dress like a ****, like even in jeans and high heels he's like 'why you wearing heels'. We argue alot bout clothes but I am stubborn and feel I won't change completely for anyone. But it is just so bloody frustrating. I'm going of a tangent now. So am I being unreasonable? I love my man so much, I told him I'm not going now, but i keep thinking such a waste of a good oppotunity. Im 21 and not ready to hang up my dancing shoes, but at the same time I love my man, he is so good looking too, jealousy aside he is perfect and truly see that I can spend the rest of my life with him. If I mention Ibiza again we will end up in an argument. and i dont wana be angry and think ahh whatever ill go anyway, i just want him to be ok. so far im not going but can i change his mind without arguing?? Can anyone help? Sorry for the essay. Thank you in advance. moreResolved Question: Is this an eating disorder? Please help, trying to cut weight for judo.?
So I train at two different dojos, one is a community oriented club that's focused on the good of the individual. The other is competition oriented, and does not care about the good of the judoka as much as their value in competition. Call the first one (A) and the second one (B) for the sake of not revealing too much. Here I should also insert that I'm fifteen years old, a green belt, and have hopes of becoming an elite competitor. Eventually. That's why I decided to start training at dojo B, they are semi-local and have a good competitve reputation, whereas A really isn't established as being competitive at all, though their instructors have been to national/ international level competitions. Now. To get to the question- my coach (dojo B) keeps encouraging me to cut weight for tournaments. She is convinced that I am better off at 57kgs rather than 63kgs when I fight. I cut this weight once before for a tournament a while back, and had to barely eat and excercize obsessively and still barely made it. I tried to explain to her how dangerous I thought it was and she said that "I could eat and be healthy on non tournament weeks" Now I have another competition coming up in a couple days and I decided to cut weight again to see how hard it would be, since I'm going to have to do it in threeish weeks for a major tournament. The one I'm fighting this week is local, with pretty much nothing at stake, so I figured I'd test it out. The past few days I've been taking in less than 400 calories a day, training at least 4, up to 7 hours a day, barely drinking anything, and counting calories and weight loss obsessively. Every time I eat, or do something that doesn't involve training I feel guilty about it, and I'm training so hard that I've nearly passed out two practices in a row, not to mention the fact that I never have any energy anymore. Every time I stand up from sitting or get off my training equipment my head spins and I usually have to sit back down because I feel so much like I'm going to pass out, and even small things like walking up stairs are leaving me winded, which they never were before. And I'm completely ignoring the fact that I already have a serious knee injury that's been chronic since June for the sake of my training. My instructors at dojo B have been encouraging me to put ON weight for a while, and they just want me to have fun and stay safe. Which road is the right one to take in this case since I want to be an elite, and is this an eating disorder or just a road to cutting weight that most elite competitors travel down frequently without problem? Also, my parents know about this and support it, since they say I don't train enough, and are convinced this is healthy.Ugh okay so when I wrote this I mixed up my abbreviations. In that last paragraph when I refer to the dojo that's encouraging me to have fun and stay healthy I meant A not B. Sorry... I was really tired when I wrote this. moreResolved Question: So I am Apart Of A Traveling Club At My High School And This Year We Want To Go Too The Middle East (Egypt)?
