Resolved Question: Would you like to travel to this state?
I picked a random state, and the question is would like to go to Maine? moreOpen Question: Why is this Ron Paul senior aide & Bob Barr aide pleading for Libertarians to vote McCain/Palin?
FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE, SOCIALLY TOLERANT, PRO-DEFENSE! November 2, 2008 I have been a lifetime Libertarian Party activist, for over 25 years. I’ve served in numerous capacities, including on the Libertarian National Committee, as a Libertarian State Rep. candidate, and as Ron Paul’s Personal Travel Aide in his 1988 Libertarian Presidential campaign. I’ve also served as Ron Paul’s Congressional Campaign Coordinator and as his Senior Congressional Aide for 7 years, 1997-2004. This election year, I’ve been supporting Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr. As a matter of fact, I’m the very guy who recruited his running mate Wayne Root into the race. Since the Spring, I’ve been the Party’s lead petitioner around the Nation. I’ve collected tens of thousands of signatures to get Barr/Root on the ballot in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and Rhode Island. However, I was greatly encouraged by McCain’s pick of Sarah Palin for his VP. Palin has a solid libertarian background. In 2005/06 she was the guest speaker at two Libertarian Party meetings in Anchorage. She Up until now, I’ve encouraged my fellow Libertarians to follow their conscience and vote for either McCain/Palin or for Barr/Root, if it suits them better. I now believe, two days before Election Day, that this campaign is just too critical to risk on such a strategy, and if Libertarians won’t put the liberty of our country ahead of our party ambitions, who else in this country will? Obama is fundamentally opposed to virtually all libertarian stances on all issues. From taxes, to freedom of speech, to protecting property rights, to putting a halt to the ever-encroaching Nanny-state, and 4 years of an Obama Presidency will have disastrous results for liberty, and supporters of the limited government view. As evidence of this, Obama has taken to lodge a full frontal assault on the libertarian movement within the last couple days. In two separate speeches Obama accused McCain/Palin of supporting tax cuts because they believed in the “Virtue of Selfishness." ABC News confirmed that the phrase was most likely a direct hit at libertarian icon Philosopher Ayn Rand. By attacking Individualist philosophy, in essence, Obama has declared war on libertarians and the libertarian movement in these closing days of Election ‘08. How should libertarians respond? It is now my strong feeling that libertarians nationwide, and most assuredly my fellow Libertarian Party members, should strongly consider casting their votes for Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin. The libertarian movement would be best served with an Obama defeat. Bob Barr has been polling around 1 to 1.5% in recent polls. A Research 2000/Daily Kos poll released just Friday, had Barr at a full 2%. That is more than enough to cause McCain/Palin to go down to defeat. As we all know, a good 90% of Libertarian votes come directly out of the GOP column. I urge my Libertarian friends, especially those in “swing states” to shift these final days to McCain/Palin. Those States that are especially critical include: New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. McCain/Palin lead Obama/Biden in the latest poll out of Wyoming with 68% to 32%. A Libertarian vote cast for Barr/Root in Wyoming, or even Utah, Idaho, Alabama, Kansas, and my native Texas, would not cause any harm. But Libertarians in the critical swing states must now weigh their vote very seriously and with great caution. Do we want a guarantee of tax increases for virtually all taxpayers, more federalization of education, more pork barrel spending, and continuation of affirmative action quotas, a return of the so-called Fairness Doctrine intended to silence the voice of libertarians and conservatives across the nation? Or, do we want a friendly ear in a confirmed Libertarian Party friend and ally in the office of the Vice-Presidency of the United States. For these reasons, I am voting for McCain/Palin on Tuesday and I urge all of my Libertarian friends to do the same. Our party has made great gains and that is important. Nobody in the libertarian movement has worked harder than I have to assure those gains. But at this moment in history, we must stand with our conservative friends, against a massive affront upon liberty and freedom itself. I call upon all freedom loving libertarians to consider this situation carefully and stand with me! Eric Dondero LIBERTARIANS FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE, SOCIALLY TOLERANT, PRO-DEFENSE! moreResolved Question: Where to go in Maine in December?
Hi i wanted to go to travel outside of NJ and towards Maine for a weekend in December with a special someone. I am young about 23 years of age. Any recommendations for places to go, stay and what to Do there? I love the outdoors. Thank you moreResolved Question: I need help on this word problem!!!?
ok so its a dirt problem wich means you have to use Distance=rateXtime. my maine problem with this problem is i cant find t or the "time" so i can plug it in to the t. I already know t=7 because are teacher gave us the answers but i need to know why it =7 so i can do it on the test. The question is It takes a small jet plane 4 hours less time than it takes a propeller-driven plane to travel from Glen Rock to Oakville. The jet plane averages 637km/h while the propeller plane averages 273 km/h. How far is it from Glen Rock to Oakville. If you get the answer t=7 and D=1911km then your answer is right but please explain to me how you mainly got the T or time shane and nagger you both helped me alot thanxxx sorry shane but naggers was more clear for me moreVoting Question: How can most republicans support the republican tax policy?
The following are a few examples. 1. Hedge fund managers have their income taxed as capital gains (15%) instead as ordinary income. Republicans state that the lower tax rate is needed due to the high risk but all the risk is taken by the investors and not the hedge fund manager. 5 Hedge fund mangers made over $1 billion last year. 2. Most of the super rich do not pay state taxes on their investments. Most establish their primary residence in a state without a state income tax even though they seldom visit that state. This was the case of George H. W. Bush when he was in the white house where his primary residence was in a hotel room in Texas instead of the white house in Washington DC or his home in Kennybunkport Maine. 3. Although the top 1% of the earners in the US pay 28% of the federal taxes, they own 33.8% of the wealth in the US. The effective tax rate is lower than what the middle class pays due to the large number of tax loopholes for the rich. 4. Exercised stock options are not considered as an expense to a corporation but instead, 35% of the exercise price can be written off as a tax credit. This makes it appear that the corporation has made a large amount of money when it reality much of the profits were given to the corporate executives as bonuses. If tax credits exceeds the amount of tax owed, the corporation will receive a tax refund. 5. Although US corporations pay a hefty 35% corporation income tax which is the second highest tax rate in the industrial world, in reality US corporations pay the second lowest effective corporation income tax rate as based on percentage of GDP due to the numerous tax loopholes. With McCains current proposal, corporate income tax rates will be reduced to 20% which is the second lowest in the industrial world and in reality will be by far the lowest effective tax rate based on GDP. 6. Corporate executives get perks such as private jets, expensive cars, low or no interest loans, 5th Avenue apartments, family travel, private parties, etc. that the corporation writes off as an expense and is not considered as income to the executives. moreResolved Question: Cross-country travel advice?

How long would it take to travel by boat from Boston to Portland, Maine? moreResolved Question: I got a speeding ticket in Maine but I am from Mass., how will this effect my MA license/Driving Record?
I was pulled over for travelling 39 in a 25 in a remote area in Maine by a unmarked Maine State Police vehicile. Upon the traffic stop I was told to pull into a private lot. I was asked what I was doing in the area I answered "Going for a drive." I then asked the Trooper why I was pulled over. He answered "You were going a little fast, 39 in a 25." The road was a long straightaway near Skowegan(SP.) and I did not see a 25 mph listing. Without any other communication, a Maine State Police K9 unit was called to the scene. No further questions were asked by the Troopers and the dog did not signal anything to the best of my knowledge. The K9 unit left and the officers left me with a speeding ticket totaling around $130. The Trooper issued the ticket to my former address (ny new address was affixed in sticker form on the back, per MA law). The area I was in is an extremely long drive from my home so I want to know if I fight it, where would the court date be? Will this affect my MA license if I simply pay the fine? Is this a beatable ticket in Maine possibly based on the wrong address? Is this a moving violation against my license and insurance in MA? moreResolved Question: Traveling from NJ to Maine - help with travel info?
We will be driving to Portland Maine. The weather should be sunny and in the 50's for the highs while we are there. We don't want to travel too far out of that area. What are the must see places? Any tips or suggestions on good, but cheaper end places to eat. We plan to buy some food at the local supermarket, so we wont have to eat out too much. (we have kids ages,3, 9 & 14) Any info is appreciated! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Since I think I was misunderstood...?
Here is an abbreviated version of my last question. I have 3 dogs. My first is a 1 year 10 month old English Mastiff, spayed, named Riley. My second is a 1 year 2 month old English Mastiff/Amstaff X, neutered, named Chester And my newest is an approximately 1.5-2 year old Amstaff, neutered, named Madoc. We got Riley at the age of 6 months and she started off being very shy. We took her to obedience classes to socialize her and she started lunging at people, she had a surgery to reconstruct her vulva and then she started biting (without breaking the skin) strangers. Riley has never harmed or threatened to harm myself, my fiance or my second dog, Chester. When we introduced Madoc there were a couple minor scuffles for dominance but nothing to be concerned over. There were 2 months of absolute acceptance and then she attacked him...out of the blue...no warning signs. The first time we considered it a fluke and that we just didn't catch the trigger but 5 days later she did it again and punctured his jugular twice. He has 2 full thickness lacerations also that we had patched up by the emergency vet. So far we have tried in this order: Positive reinforcement training, Cesar Millan's methods, Thyroid panel (came back "normal") a dog behavior specialist, Prozac, Oxitocin, boarding with the behaviorist, and then we finally just kind of gave up on her accepting strangers as we can safely confine her to the house. She's a Mastiff so she doesn't need much exercise and she's handle-able to the point where we can walk her safely down the road as long as it is pretty untraveled. She knows "watch" "touch" and "leave it" commands so I can distract and redirect her if needed in public situations (vet visits and not much else). She has been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, severe separation anxiety, defensive-aggression, and the "shy gene." We cannot rehome Riley anywhere because she will completely freak any time that she is taken away from us. It is also unfair of us to give someone this responsibility. We will not rehome Madoc because he is the most well-behaved dog I have ever met. He is a therapy dog I use for work and has been temperament tested and was deemed the most stable dog she had ever tested. If I have to lose a dog I'm not loosing 2 of them. And here is some of my background: I work at an animal shelter so I am very familiar with dogs and their behavioral problems. Riley certainly accepts my dominance 100% no questions about it- all of my dogs do. I've done extensive research on her breed and all sorts of different training techniques. I have brought her to professionals and spent over 10,000 dollars on both her medical and behavioral issues in the past year. And I'd also like to mention that not all dogs are black and white. She doesn't like strangers and had a couple fights with Madoc but 99% of the time she is relaxed at home with us cuddling, loving, giving kisses, and being the sweetest dog. She is well loved. We also make sure to crate all the dogs when we're away/sleeping, they aren't allowed on the furniture, and I do not allow rough housing with the other dogs (or people). Riley is extremely smart and has learned all commands thoroughly and quickly but is terrified and that's where the problem lies. My questions are: Should I feel guilty for considering euthanasia? Have I exhausted all resources or is there someone else out there? Are there any other medical causes that I can have her tested for? Can we treat the dog-aggression successfully and continue to keep her away from society? How can I reintroduce Madoc to Riley safely to avoid these problems again? And a little further information: I live in Maine so I don't have a ton of professionals available to me. I'm willing to travel 2 hours to get to one. I don't have a ton of money left to keep treating her for the behavioral issues so "sending her to Cesar Millan" is not an option. I am an animal shelter worker/vet tech so most procedures, testing, and treatments I can do at home- safely, and away from the public. I want her and my other dogs to be safe, happy and healthy. Is this a possibility. If not, I could really use some reassurance that I'm making the right decision in giving her one more chance or I'll have to euthanize her. We currently have made a few home changes and are being extremely strict with rules and what she (and the other dogs can do) and when they can do it to reassert dominance if that's the problem. Madoc and Riley are being kept completely separate until all of Madoc's injuries have healed. Please let me know if you have any other ideas and thank you so much in advance. moreResolved Question: Leaf Peeping in Maine? ?

For years I have heard about my best friend's fiance's cousin. I was told about him before she even met him herself from his aunt. To make a long story short my friend took a trip to Prince edward Island Canada and sent me a postcard. The first thing she wrote on the card was " has so and so called you yet" He had been given my number from his Aunt who I had met a few weeks earlier. He did call but I had been in NYC and never did get to talk with him. The postcard was dated 9/23/02. 6 years go by and I hear more and more about him. My friend travels to texas where her fiance is from and where he lives as well and meets him herself. She thinks how great we would be together and keeps telling me all about him. Finally the end of september rolls around and out of the blue he visits here (maine) to bring his Aunt who relocated here her dog. He stayed for a few days and we finally met. He had to go back to texas but I really liked him so I sent him a Birthday card as his Bday was shortly after he got back. I left my numer on the card and he called on 9/23/08. 6 years to the day my friend mailed me the card asking if he had called. I think it's kinda weird but wonder if I'm reading too much into it. what do you think??? moreResolved Question: Looking for Cheap Motels? ?

I've lived in the same state since I was born and I want to move. This maybe a stretch, I should go paces but I don't know where to start. I was hoping with a description of what I'm looking for someone could suggest a city or state. I'm looking for cool temperatures, 45-75 and I hate humidity. I would like something to look at, either big mountains or large body of water. Also want this place to be big enough to support a major league sports, hockey would be my favorite and baseball right up there too. I am a laid back liberal person, so I'd like this area to be as well. A friendly town, like the opposite of Boston since it's hard to meet people in Boston. I'm going to visit Colorado since it fits nicely into my description. Any others? The thing is that when I'm around him and there is anyone else there he won't even look at me and we would always given me the biggest hugs but now he just kind of smiles and greats me in the halls at school. I was wondering if anyone knew how he is reacting and why. Does this always happen to the male race? Please help me I'm very confused and a little hurt. Oh and do you think he's lost interest? My husband and I are going from Maine to Florida in three weeks, we will be driving. We have two dogs that are coming with is, one is a year old and the other is about 7 months old. We're probably going to go down in two or three days, the first day we'll stop after only 4 hours to visit his grandparents in Conn. before we go down, then we'll play it by ear on the second day, either travelling the whole 20 hours at once, or stopping about half way through. Any suggestions for the long car rides? Obviously we'll be stopping every couple of hours for potty breaks...and we'll keep plenty of water and food available for them. Should we crate them in the car? I'm sorry...we have two dogs that are coming with US. To clarify, we're leaving in three weeks, not taking three weeks to get down there.
