Resolved Question: black or brown and white striped worms or larvae in toilet?
Hi, today I found black/white striped worms in the toilet - about 1 cm (1/3 inch) long and 1 to 2 mm wide, with a big black head and 2 tiny antennas. They wriggled in the water and seemed to swim on the surface. It were about 10 to 20 of those things. There are also a few white worms about 1/2 inch long and much thinner I took them out of the toilet with a spoon and put them into a jar and the black ones all swim on the surface and it looks as if they try to get air with their antennas. The others were floating everywhere in the jar. The toilet is used frequently and clean, I have never seen any flies in the bathroom, but found shugar ants (tiny red ants) in the whole appartment today. The building is a highrise in hot climate and only about 3 years old. Could this still come from the toilet, maybe the pipes or could this be a worm infection??? I couldn't find anything like this in the internet... I am really worried (especially as I was travelling all over US, Egypt, India and Kuwait in the last months. Does anyone have any idea? Genetic mutation is only a change within the finished product. What I propose is that, all life started through the same process; single cell. Depending on the path or action of this cell, it's evolutionary destiny is determined within a very short time. I'd say around 3 years. I'd call these simple cells, the pioneers. Example, cell 1 gets to stage 3 and finally moves out of the water into a hot climate with moisture underground. It then travels underground which seals its evolutionary process to be a worm. Cell 2 moves above ground clumped with cell 3 and 4. The place it is at rains quite often and the rain brings nutrients out of the ground. These cells stay together and seal their path to becoming a tree. the human's pioneer cells arrived late. My nephew Jordan is 8. He has a 5 year old sister, and a 2.5 year old brother. Jordan is related to me by blood, but his siblings that live at home with him have different fathers, so theres no blood relation. (BTW his dad is my brother). Jordan lives about an hour and half away from all of the family here, so he visits mostly during the Summer/Holidays...and ocassionally throughout the school year on weekends. Our faces are becoming more familiar with Jordan's siblings, and they're beginning to call my parents Grandpa/etc. Its actually really cute and we dont mind. Last time my dad traveled to pick up Jordan, the 5 year old sis was just hangin out with Jordan and "Grandpa" in the truck until it was time to go. A conversation piece came up between me and my dad about how maybe we should offer to have Jordans sister Brook to visit out of town with us. The mom trusts our family completely, and FYI, Brook, the 5 year old girl's father/family neglect to spend time with her/help financially. Would it be bad if we offered to have her come up "For the weekend"? Im trying to predict the future, im just wondering b/c if she has fun, which we would make sure she did, and she would be with her big bro the whole time, she would want to return EVERY time...and then all of a sudden, we're taking on a kid that has absolutely no relation to us. Its also not like we're all ... super duper friendly with the mom of the kids either, its mostly a 'friendly business exchange' between Jordan all his life...with concerns/etc....but we're friendly. Basically I'm fairly good at physics just been doing research into white holes/worm holes... Worm holes (possible with Newton's theory of general relativity) enable time travel/travel faster than the speed of light travel. This got me thinking; Time travel is then theoretically possible however...I've thought of a slight problem with this which is an absence of people from the future. It is of course possible that our time is so insignificant no one would bother coming back. But with Jesus, the world wars and A-bombs one would find it hard to imagine. So my question is if time travel is theoretically possible how can we explain this absence of people from the future? I have a 1 yr old male cat "Ivan". I picked him up off the street when he was about 1-2months old. His mother was a stray that lived in the apartment complex where I was living at the time. She had a litter of 4 and Ivan was obviously at the bottom of the pecking order. His two male litter-mates wouldn't let him eat when I put out food for them. One day I saw him stumbling around outside half-blind from eye infections. He was so skinny too. He seemed disoriented and didn't run from me when I came outside (they typically wouldn't let me get closer than about 4ft). I scooped him up and took him inside. Over the next week I got him eating and took him to the vet. He had all kinds of worms, a bad eye infection, and something else that was giving him a fever. I got all the required medications and nursed him back to a healthy kitty! He's always been pretty scared of new people or places. He hates loud noises and travelling. But when he feels safe and content he's great. He follows me around and is very vocal and talkative. Lately I have been feeling sorry that he has to spend some days bored home alone. I thought he would like having another cat to pal around with. So I brought home a kitten. This one was also born a stray but was lucky enough to be born to a stray that had been somewhat adopted by a nice young woman. She kept all the kittens (and mom) well-fed, healthy, and comfortable with human interaction. She has a lot of cats and so this kitten has had plenty of experience interacting with other cats too. He's about 4-5 months old and a very happy, trusting kitty. He's the opposite of Ivan and not scared of anything (except for big dogs which is understandable). He loves new people, new places, and riding in the car. We've tentatively named him Mufasa. When I brought Mufasa home Ivan was not pleased. I didn't expect them to be immediate friends but Ivan seems absolutely terrified of Mufasa! He's easily 4x as big as this kitten but he hisses and runs away! Mufasa is unconcerned with the whole situation and hasn't acted aggressively or shown any fear either. I've separated them into two rooms and given them their own litterbox and food/water bowl and have tried mixing their smells. But if Ivan even smells Mufasa at all he gets upset and hisses/growls/hides. My fear is that Ivan will never feel as carefree and happy as he has been this past year. I know it takes time for the adjustment but is there anything more I can do to influence the situation? First of all, I know Star Wars is fictional and that the question I am asking is really, why didn't the Star Wars writers make something up that allows spaceships to travel faster than the speed of light. They could have made something that can jump through space, like a worm hole or something. It would have made so much more sense. In Star Wars (especially in episodes IV, V and VI) they sometimes say, "jump to light speed". Then they wizz from one side of the galaxy to the other. The Milky Way galaxy is 100000 light years wide (approximately). My point is that in star wars because they are travelling at the speed of light, it would take them years to travel from one solar system to the next but yet they don't age? Surely, it would have made more sense if the Star Wars script writers had invented something that allows them to travel faster than the speed of light? They have lightsabers and massive armies of droids, why not invent something that can travel faster than the speed of light? In episode III, Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is on Mustafar killing the leaders of the CIS after he has killed them, Padame set off from Coruscant. So does that mean Anakin waits on Mustafar for several years for Padame to arrive. I know Star Wars is fictional, but surely it would have made more sense for the writers to have made something that allows the characters to travel faster than the speed of light. Now, what if they prevented the Holocaust from happening, how would that reflect the future? Would Israel exist? And what changes will it bring? And by the way, when the "imaginary" US Army would go to the past via a worm hole, they won't really go to the past, since the past is gone, there is no way to travel back in time. So by opening a worm hole and going to the past, I mean that they would get into a parallel universe, where the past is now. And so the changes they would make won't affect our universe, it will only affect that parallel universe. I have seen "The Final Countdown (1980) film" right after I had came up with that idea of mine (8 months ago), and to my disappointment, that film had no questions which were actually answered, it was just dramatically posing the question, What if? But the idea of the movie is still pretty good. Yet I would like to know, are there any Hollywood directors these days that are capable of coming up and creating a modern day movie that will deeply touch the idea of which I have came up with? my kitten is a female bengal 9 weeks old kitten. She was born at May 10th, I got her at July 6th. She was fine with her stools for a while. she had a few loose stools, but mostly she pooped healthy stools. I brought her to vet for her first shot at July 9th, and brought her back home, and her diarrhea started. Since then she pooped loose stools only, sometimes almost watery stool. Luckily she is active and eats and plays, but she is NOT GAINING any weight. I brought her back to the vet at July 13th, the vet gave her a 1/4 pill of antibiotic, saying she may have some infection, since then I am giving her this pill every 12 hours, but no improvement at all. With the vet's advice, I bought some wet food made for kitten, and bought some more gravy wet food in case she is not eating enough dry food, she liked the wet foods she ate, but the stool became even more watery. For about the gravy-chicken wet food, she almost pooped the chicken pieces undigested. After I saw it(24 hours after) I stopped giving it to her. Since I bought her, I was giving her Proseries dry food for kitten(until yesterday, July 14th), but I thought it may be better to give her what she used to eat before, so I called the breeder and found she used to eat Purina Kitten Chow, so I changed her food to it. ( So it's been only a day or so) the stool looked like becoming a little firmer, but still she is pooping watery stool. And she plays and be active, but looks like she is not 100% heathy to me. Healthy kitten should be more playful I think. Some reasons she may have some stress, 1. Long travel It was 7 hours driving when I first picked her up, maybe the stress still persist? but she pooped healthy stool for a few days before I brought her to the vet. 2. New Home and a new cat This home is new, and I already have a cat(10times size of her, I will cut the details since it isnt the issue right now,bottom line is that they love each other. this kitten chases the big one and the big one grooms her.) And she likes me too. The real concern is that she is not gaining any weight at all, and she is quite small for a 9 weeks kitten. Her mother is a small cat too, so smaller than average size may be ok. But she was 550g at July 9th, and she is still 560g at July 15th. when she has full stomach she weighs 600g. Apparently she didnt gain any weight since July 9th, for one week, as a 9 weeks old kitten..... I am so worried. Maybe I should bring another stool sample to the vet? Maybe they made a mistake, or worm started to grow since then? She is a small kitten, should I give her kitten milk with the dry food? She likes wet food but it doesnt look like she digests well, should I still give her the wet food because she eats more wet food than dry food? I had given a very descriptive background of where my puppy's living conditions were before I had adopted her. Okay a few days ago I got my puppy from a backyard breeder that was breeding puppies and selling them, she had five different litters and they were in terrible living conditions. Most of the smaller puppies had mulitple kinds of worms and were very skinny and covered in dirt. But she got busted by the cops and they took all the dogs and puppies away from her. And were now rehoming them, there were 23 puppies all together, 7 died from parvo, the ones with worms have been isolated and are being treated. But with the oldest litter of puppies, six puppies, she had documented she had given them there first shots, and that they had been dewormed, (these puppies were her "money maker"). Now I adopted one of these puppies from my friend who was fostering them, they are german shepherd/lab mixs (both parents were on the scene, but the male german shepherd was extremely aggressive and was put down). She is a little white german shepherd and lab mix, she had her first spectra-5 parvo shots, and she was dewormed four days before the puppies were taken from her house, yes there were documents to the shots and the deworming. THE QUESTIONS: I have a vet apointment set up for her for next Tuesday(Vet went on vacation, and they are kind busy, and this is also a small one vet town, i have to travel 36 miles to get to an emergency vet or another vet), but i do have a small concern for her she has a very odd breathing pattern, its very fast, like if she is panting, but she breathes like this all the time, when she is sleeping too. Now it is in the 100s outside, and maybe 76 inside, and she does have a thickish coat. And she is gaining weight, but is still very skinny. But it also feels like she vibrates when she breathes What could here breathing be from? And should I take her to the emergency vet, or wait until Tuesday? . She is 11 weeks old. Also Question #2: When are you suppost to get a puppy spayed? I want to get her spayed as soon as possible but I want to know when is the safest time? #3: She also pees many times while outside, I mean yes she drinks alot of water, but she pees like 6 or 7 times in a 15 mintue time span, and she only pees when I take her outside, is this normal to pee that much in that short amount of time? QUESTION #4: She also has tons of light greenish eye goop. I have to clean her eyes every morning, and every night. Is that normal? ALL THE PAPERS OF THE FATHER AND MOTHER WERE GIVEN TO THE RESCUE PEOPLE *She is not inbreeded at all, the german shepherd(father) was AKC registered with papers, and it was his first litter since he was tied up on a chain, fenced up in this womans backyard. ( Sad, because he was a beautiful dog, I would have adopted him but he almost tore a guys arm off, and you can get him near any other dogs) (She was going to breed him with another female AKC german sheherd but it never happened, and I guess he had broke his chain that was chaining him up and he jumped the fence and got ahold of the female lab and another female mix breed dog) Then the mother female Yellow Lab was UKC registered with papers, but she had been breeded 3 times. She sadly died of starvation and dehydration, the rescue couldnt help her in time, she had given all she had to her last litter of puppies, and after the pups were off her milk she was tied up, and wasnt given any water or food. She was also beautiful. * *FOR PEOPLE WONDERING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER PUPPIES AND DOGS, litter 1:the 6 puppies from the Lab and German Shepherd were all found good homes, litter 2: 3 puppies Unknown mixed breed/German Shepherd, 2 of the puppies died from Parvo, the other 1 has parvo but is being still alive and is doing well because of someone making sure the puppy has plenty of fluids. Litter 3: 4 puppies Cockapoos, all four died of Parvo.:( Litter 4: 6 puppies Chihuahua/Beagle Mix 5 of them have extremely bad worm infestations of hookworms, round worms, pin worms and tape worms. and sadly 1 was found dead at the house still in the cage with the other puppies, it had been dead for a few days. Litter 5: 4 from a chihuahua/ unknown mix, these puppies are only under weight, and had only round worms, and are now doing fine and being adopted out to good homes. The Older dogs only two males were there the german sheherd and a chihuahua male, German was put down and the Chihuahua was adopted out to a good home. Hi, I'm a 23 yr old male, healthy weight, and have been exercising regularly for a couple of years and eat very healthy (high quality saturated and unsaturated fats, limited supplements, whole grains, fish, some dairy). My family doesn't have any history of mental or physical problems, and I've been very healthy, until now. Back in Nov. 09, I started taking a men's multivitamin that had some herbs in it. One of these herbs was yohimbe. I should have researched all of the ingredients, but didn't. I was taking 1/2 of the recommended dosage (1 pill, whereas 2 were recommended) daily and everything was fine. The yohimbe dosage was 80 mg of yohimbe bark, not extract, and not yohimbine. In January 2010, I went to Greece for 3 weeks. After 2 months of taking the pills, I started experiencing a weird chest pain, on the left side. It usually came at night and lasted anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. It was very mild, more like a pressure. I didn't think much of it. Once I got back to the USA, it was on and off. Sometimes it would be there, sometimes not, and it wasn't associated with physical activity. On Feb. 11, the chest pain was getting worse and worse and it wasn't going away. I took some aspirin, and took my vitamin. It was still there. Quite suddenly, while on the computer, I had a "dizzy" spell where everything seemed to blur, I felt serious palpitations, anxiety, and felt my blood pressure going up. It was at 160/100 once I got to the emergency room. After a chest x-ray, blood samples, urine samples, etc., they found nothing. Next day, same thing -- and same results. I couldn't sleep for days, had anxiety, fatigue, and basically all of the symptoms associated w/ yohimbe toxicity, except for the worst ones. I looked up people's experiences and they were identical, although they took much higher dosage than me. My issue is that I was taking it for 2 1/2 months. In Feb. and March, I've had serious on/off anxiety, fatigue, and chest pain to the point where I sometimes couldn't do much. It was cyclical, as I'd often feel almost normal. This was accompanied by nausea, kidney, and lower back pain, again cyclical. I generally feel much better now, but sometimes get the chest pain (much milder than it was in the hospital), sometimes associated w/ activity, often not, sometimes worse when I breathe in deeply/move, sometimes not. I feel anxious at times, but do not have any panic attacks. I feel a strange "heaviness" in my head, but don't really get dizzy or weak... just, I guess, a sense of malaise. Again, these things are cyclical... I can be very good for a couple of weeks, and then suddenly get nauseous, a bit faint, anxious, and experience chest pain. I went to the cardiologist, got multiple tests done, and everything is normal. The pain is on the left side and rarely on the right, never in the middle, never traveling to other parts of the body. I had multiple blood, urine, sonogram tests, cardiograms, etc., all were normal. So, 1) Has anyone experienced yohimbe-related toxicity? 2) How would I make these symptoms go away? I tried cod liver oil, cordyceps, garlic, cayenne, coconut oil, magnesium, holy basil, apple cider vinegar, among others. In general, they must have helped, or my symptoms went away by themselves. 3) Is it possible these are symptoms of something else? They seem to match yohimbe experiences, and yet it's rare for them to persist for so long (5 months now). It's also strange that they are so inconsistent, although I've read of marijuana users who develop random physical and psychological symptoms that come in waves, often without expectation, even after some time of feeling normal. 4) Could it be some kind of parasite? In Greece, I ate some oatmeal in a restaurant that, I later noticed, had a moving worm in it. It looked like some ordinary maggot, but since I started feeling the chest pressure a few days after this, it's possible. I have not lost any weight (in fact, I gained about 7 lbs). But, it would be strange if a parasite would start out w/ mild chest pressure and nothing else. 5) Could it be a magnesium deficiency on top of the yohimbe? I used to take calcium supplements and consumed A LOT of dairy, including cheese. I even had tiny kidney stones in January that the doctor saw, although I eliminated them before I had to pass anything. I started taking about 900 mg of magnesium taurate, citrate, chloride (spray), and malate for about a month now, I generally feel better, but don't know if that's b/c of the magnesium deficiency or coincidence. I have a ten gallon with 2 male guppies, 2 African Dwarf Frogs and a ghost shrimp. I had a Whisper 10 in-tank filter to begin with, and was able to provide a calm environment. I could drop blood worms inside for the frogs and the food would float to the bottom to be searched for and eaten. Trouble is, the whisper leaks- the water was constantly traveling up the hanging clip and over the side, and suddenly I'd find a wet table and carpet. Plus, I was concerned about the bio medium if I had to change the pad. So I added a Penguin 100 Bio Wheel. Now the current in the tank is such that I drop in some blood worms and they drift around in a circle. Some hit the bottom, some drift to the intake of the filter. The current is noticeable, and the guppies seem to enjoy it. But what about the frogs? They don't seem to care, but I'm trying to mimic their environment. And the ghost shrimp, I wonder if I'm not giving it the slow pool it would prefer. So my question: is it too much filtration and current? It all started about 3 weeks ago, i got a bump on my left foot where my flip flop rubs against my skin. My family said it was probably ring worm but it itched sooo bad. It then formed an inflated line under my skin and began traveling. Each day it moved like half an inch until I popped it. When I did pop it only clear stuff comes out of it. Then another bump showed up next to it as the other was healing. And this one is doing the same thing. I wake in the middle of the night to itch it because it itches sooo bad. PET Passport-vet in spain did not fill out my dogs passports correctly,can another vet sign and stamp instead? while living in spain i rescued 2 german shepherd dogs, and finally when i decided it would be easier and i would be able to give them a better way of life in the uk i started planning my return to the uk. I had planned my return to the uk for months, going through the very costly process of having both my dogs treated and vaccinated, micro chipped- the whole lot! my vet knew when i would be traveling and told me everything would be ok. i spent more money than is even bearable to think about. point being, i left spain and drove all the way to the euro-tunnel in france (16 long hours) for them to turn round and refuse my dogs entry in the uk as the vet had not stamped current rabies vaccination,tape worm and tick paper work had not been filled out correctly and the serological test had not been stamped filled out correctly. also the time between the blood test and insertion of the micro-chip and travel wasn't long enough (again i asked the vet about all this and he assured me everything would be fine) i was ACTUALLY told by the staff at the euro-tunnel in france they would not be traveling and when i asked what options i had, i was answered by "you can either put your dogs in quarantine or put them in the canal!" (what drown my dogs??NO!) of course after all the time, effort and money i put into getting them here i wasn't about to give up there and had to put them into quarantine- which again is very costly. i had to leave my dogs in quarantine in france and travel on the the uk without them, which killed me. So my question is... Can another vet in france sign off and correct the previous vets mistakes without having to go through the whole process again????? the vet in spain signed off and stamped some of the paper work but not fully throughout the passport, will another vet be able and allowed to sign off the missed pages??? if anyone can answer my question this would be much operated, cheers debbie moreResolved Question: What courses would deal with this in college?

We rescued a new cat from outside, it has round worms and ear mites. He has not been in contact with our other indoor cats and we have had him for only a day and in the garage only. Ok people, yes this is another space travel question (on a more complex level) but I was just wondering if anyone knows of a website dedicated to asking space questions to Stephen Hawking that he and only he answers? Kind of like an Ask Stephen Hawking a Question kinda site because I can't find any site pertaining to such? So if not, here's my predicament that maybe one could answer: You think it would it be possible to travel in time/through space or both by way of entering the vortex of a black hole in an exact known location in space with a white hole (the opposite of a black hole) located in space hypothetically connecting to the funnel end of the black hole as if the two funnels of each hole were connected together? Meaning, you are sucked in by the black hole and are pushed out by the white hole. The reason I figure the black and white holes because matter travels quickest through those right? Also, reason being so you wouldn't need an outside force to keep the "worm"hole open or keep yourself from being crushed as you travel. So if it was possible to travel via the black vortex and funnel-to-white funnel and vortex would a human be crushed if they were to pass through or would a human be atomized like in the original Willy Wonka scene with Gene Wilder where the candy bar is atomized in the air and re-engineered to be put back together on the other side? I caught part of an episode last night. And what I saw worried me. This lady travels back roads down south essentially grabbing "strays" off the street and sending them up north. Sounds fine. BUT some of the "strays" weren't strays -- the owner drove up. From what it looked like, she was on his land, trying to take his pups. Certainly you can argue he wasn't a very good dog owner, and I would agree. But you still can't go onto another person's property and take what is essentially their property! That's theft. And momma dog had a collar on. Obviously owned. Now he stopped her from taking his momma dog and pups, but said he didn't own a small brown and white dog hanging around. She took that one. Now, I've done rescue for years. A real stray -- a dog that's been on the road awhile, has worms, ripped up pads, thin, and very often heartworm positive. This little dog was not thin, not HW positive, did not have worms and did not look in rough shape at all. Dollars to doughnuts, that was somebody's dog she kidnapped. Around here our rescues almost got put out of business by one rescue doing something like this -- they placed a "stray" in a new home -- but the stray wasn't a stray, but owned. They made no effort to find an owner. All the rescues for a time were under some pretty draconian laws indicating we had to have foster homes have "hours of operation" where the "public" could come in. PEOPLE'S HOMES!! We lost all our fosters because of this. All because a rescue didn't publicize a stray to ensure it was a stray before being re-homed. I think this lady is skating on thin ice grabbing up dogs all over the place and sending them up north. I didn't see ANY evidence they even looked for a microchip.
