Europe Vacation Packages Questions asked

Voting Question: The reason why America is now considering to go into Iran...agree?

I'm 17 about to go 18 and here it is: to save Israel. Let's face it. America is controlled by Jews; in the government and banking industry. Many of the lobbyists are Jewish as well (giving congressmen lavish vacations to approve of the lobbyist's own version of the bill). Saddam hated Israel, he wanted to go in and destroy it. I mean Muslims and Arabs are against the Jews. Ok, so the U.S. first went into Iraq...why? Because Saddam wouldn't give us the oil? Oh please, we could just take it. And also because of WMDs (weapons of mass destruction)? First, let's not forget that these came from Russia and our very partner, China. Right now, Iran wants to go into Israel and America is stepping in to avoid this from happening. What is the tie between Israel and America in the first place? Jews go wherever there's wealth and the worst part about it is that it's done through a form of educated thievery. Banks have become evil and inconsiderate about people and all they care about is profits. They have very high interest rates and some even penalize you if you pay extra for the principal (mortgage of house). Look at all the foreclosures today. Insurance companies have become evil as well. They no longer offer packaged deals (dental+optic+whatever all in one). Nope, instead they made them all separate and at higher prices... My dad escaped from a communist regime in eastern Europe under the radar and made it to the U.S. in the early 70s. He said it was so much better and neighbors would know each other, gather around for a grill, people would take their tv's out, etc.Why has the exodus taken place? Why has the holocaust taken place? Why are the Arabs and Muslims against the Jews? more

Resolved Question: What is a good site to learn about vacation packages?

It doesn't have to be a site. You can recommend travel services or whatnot. And to be specific, I mean all over the world....from Japan...to China...to Europe. I have actually never been on a vacation before (not the richest person), and am old enough to go out on my own with some saved cash. Also, is it dangerous to vacation solo? more

Resolved Question: Does this prove socialism is a failure?

Fiscal crises threaten Europe's generous benefits By MICHAEL WEISSENSTEIN (AP) – 4 hours ago LONDON — Six weeks of vacation a year. Retirement at 60. Thousands of euros for having a baby. A good university education for less than the cost of a laptop. The system known as the European welfare state was built after World War II as the keystone of a shared prosperity meant to prevent future conflict. Generous lifelong benefits have since become a defining feature of modern Europe. Now the welfare state — cherished by many Europeans as an alternative to what they see as dog-eat-dog American capitalism — is coming under its most serious threat in decades: Europe's sovereign debt crisis. Deep budget cuts are under way across Europe. Although the first round is focused mostly on government payrolls — the least politically explosive target — welfare benefits are looking increasingly vulnerable. "The current welfare state is unaffordable," said Uri Dadush, director of the Carnegie Endowment's International Economics Program. "The crisis has made the day of reckoning closer by several years in virtually all the industrial countries." Germany will decide next month just how to cut at least 3 billion euros ($3.75 billion) from the budget. The government is suggesting for the first time that it could make fresh cuts to unemployment benefits that include giving Germans under 50 about 60 percent of their last salary before taxes for up to a year. That benefit itself emerged after cuts to an even more generous package about five years ago. "We have to adjust our social security systems in a way that they motivate people to accept regular work and do not give counterproductive incentives," German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told news weekly Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung on Saturday. The uncertainty over the future of the welfare state is undermining the continent's self-image at a time when other key elements of post-war European identity are fraying. Large-scale immigration from outside Europe is challenging the continent's assumptions about its dedication to tolerance and liberty as countries move to control individual clothing — the Islamic veil — in the name of freedom and equality. Deeply wary of military conflict, many nations now find themselves nonetheless mired in Afghanistan on behalf of what was supposed to be a North Atlantic alliance, shying away from wholesale pullout while doing their utmost to keep troops from actual combat. Demographers and economists began warning decades ago that social welfare was doomed by the aging of Europe's baby boomers. Some governments had been trimming and reforming, but now almost all are scrambling to close deficits in order to prevent a wider collapse of confidence in the euro. "We need to change, to adapt ... for the sake of the protection of our social model," European Union Commissioner Joaquin Almunia of Spain told reporters in Stockholm Thursday. The move is risky: experts warn the cuts could undermine the growth needed to pull budgets back on a sustainable path. On Monday, Britain unveils 6 billion pounds ($8.6 billion) in cuts — mostly to government payrolls and expenses. The government has promised to raise the age at which citizens receive a state pension — up from 60 to 65 for women, and from 65 to 66 for men. It also plans to toughen the welfare regime, requiring the unemployed to try to find jobs in order to collect benefits. Britain says it will limit child tax credits and scrap a 250-pound ($360) payment to the families of every newborn. Ministers are reviewing the long-term affordability of the country's generous public sector pensions. Funding for Britain's nationalized health care service will be protected under the new government, however, and should rise each year to 2015. France's conservative government is focusing on raising the retirement age. Many workers can now retire at 60 with 50 percent of their average salary. Extra funds are available for retired civil servants, those with three or more children, military veterans and others. A parliamentary debate is planned for September. Unions in France are organizing a national day of protest marches and strikes on Thursday to demand protection of wages and the retirement age. In Spain, billions in cuts to state salaries go into effect next month, and the Socialist government has frozen increases in pensions meant to compensate for inflation for at least two years. "They've hit us really hard," said Federico Carbonero, 92, a retired soldier. He said he was unlikely to live long enough to see the worst of the pension freeze, but had no doubts he would have to start relying on savings to maintain his lifestyle. Spain is cutting assistance payments for disabled people by 300 million euros ($375 million) and did away with a three-year-old bonhttp://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5ij9HXGCYVZ4Ll9FgNrpJuxnNMwSAD9FSPCB01 more

Resolved Question: Going to Central Europe... Where should I go?

My girlfriend and I are considering a trip to europe in september. There are two vacation packages we are considering: 1. 6 nights in Prague. 2. 2 nights each in Vienna, Prague, and Budapest. I am leaning towards option 2 because this is my first trip to Europe and I want to see as much as possible, but I'm also aware that 2 nights isn't really enough time to get to know a city, and i've heard Prague is a city worthy of a trip in itself... Which would you chose and why? more

Resolved Question: Why do people think the U.S. is better than the E.U?

When you consider it, life the European Union is much better than the life in the United States in almost every way. The E.U has a larger economy, more wealth, more citizens, better education and better quality of life. Population Size: The European Union (EU) has about 500 million citizens (492 million according to some figures). The United States only has 310 million citizens. Economy: The European Union has the worlds largest economy. Europe also has the most Fortune 500 companies. The Euro (currency) is stronger than the US dollar. The United States is the country with the largest debt in the world. The external debt of the U.S.A is more than $13,399,859,000,000.00 (94% of GDP in 2009) Wealth The European Union has a GDP (millions of USD) of $16,447,259, whereas the United States only has $14,256,275 (in 2009) . In terms of overall gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita, the United States only ranks 6th in the world, behind several European countries who are on top of the list. The E.U has the highest GDP (purchasing power parity) in the world. Several European countries (such as Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Switzerland and Denmark) has a higher GDP (per capita) than the United States (in other words, people are wealthier than in the U.S.) In several European countries people work fewer hours than anyone else in the world, yet European countries are also among the most productive in the world. US workers are claimed to be the world's most productive, but they put in more hours than Europeans to score higher, according to a study by the United Nations. World View & Culture The average citizen in the United States has a very limited view and understanding of the world. Only one in five Americans has a passport. The number of Americans who have a passport, according to the State Department, is 68 million, or around 22% of the population. That means roughly only 1 out of 4.5 Americans can even visit Canada, let alone travel to anywhere else in the world. So, only about 22% of Americans own a passport and only 10% of those actually leave the country. Multilingual: The majority of European citizens speak more than one language. Most Europeans can speak at least two languages, and a significant amount can even speak three or more languages. English is the language most widely spoken in the EU, even though only 16% speak English as their mother tongue. Nearly 50% of all EU citizens can speak an additional language. 89% of pupils in the EU learn English. Yet there are 45 indigenous languages are in everyday use in the E.U and of these 11 are official languages of the E.U. Only about 9 percent of Americans can speak another language (in most cases, only ONE other language). [Note: Even the president of the United States, Barak Obama, can only speak one language - English. Perhaps he is one of very few "world leaders" who can speak only one language?] Education The education system of several E.U countries is significantly better than the U.S. Finland is widely known to have the best education system in the world. The education system of the United States is placed near the bottom of the list, according to the United Nations. The United States is 18th on a list of 24 countries. Lifestyle: Europeans walk and bike more. Europeans use more public transit, and drive economical cars. Europeans eat well. They eat more healthy than Americans. Medical care in most E.U countries is much more advanced than the U.S. Most other major industrialized nations provide universal health coverage, and most of them have comprehensive benefit packages with no cost-sharing by the patients. The United States, to its shame, has some 45 million people without health insurance and many more millions who have poor coverage. Vacation: The United States is the only developed country with no required minimum vacation days. The seems the average American dutifully work him/herself into an early grave. ;) Typically, the American workers are granted only 10 working days with 8 national holidays per year. Countries in the European Union has a required minimum number of vacation days, that range between 20 days and as much as 42 days. For example, elderly employees in Austria received as much as 42 days leave per annum. The average Swedish workers took 44 days off work in 2004. Social: Of 194 countries ranked and rated to reveal the best places to live, which consider nine categories: Cost of Living, Culture and Leisure, Economy, Environment, Freedom, Health, Infrastructure, Safety and Risk, and Climate; rate several countries in the E.U (such as France, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Germany, ) as the best place to live. The United States is rated as the 7th best place to live, just above other European countries like Belgium and Italy. The Economist Intelligence Unit’s quality-of-life index (2005) rated the United State more

Resolved Question: First trip to Europe--which of these places should I go and when? Website and hotel suggestions welcome too!?

I'm planning my first trip to Europe sometime next year with my husband. We can probably spend only about a week there, but I have lots I would like to do, so I need some help to narrow it down. Since it's my first trip, we'll probably want to do a lot of the typical tourist sight-seeing like Big Ben, Eiffel Tower, etc. Here's my list of places I'm most interested in going: Italy--this is a MUST, but I can't decide if I should do one city and then go to another country or just stay within Italy Great Britain France Spain/Portugal I would love to do Greece, but I think that would be a trip we could take later because there'd be so much to do Germany and Austria are also possibilities but not likely. I have found a couple websites (virgin-vacations.com and europeandestinations.com) that offer some pretty cheap packages, but if you've found another website or agency that has good packages, let me know! Since I've never been anywhere close to Europe I really don't know what's amazing to see. What's the best time of the year to go there? Where should I stay (neighborhood or specific hotel)? What should I visit? Where has the best food (besides Italy)? Are there areas I should avoid? Any cool tours or sightseeing I should do? Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Is it ok to travel to Libya for an American?

I've been hearing that the American government is restricting its citizens to travel to Libya. I don't know if that's true or not. Also if one goes there will there be problems on the way back into the US. The reason I'm asking is because there are some pretty awesome vacation packages to Libya out of Europe. I mean awesome like 5 star resort hotels. Since the tourist season is over, places like Libya and Tunisia are really cheap. I would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: Canada Airport Customs URGENT?

On Tuesday, I will be coming back to Canada from vacation overseas in Europe. I'm bringing 9 packs of cigarettes(180 cigs) and 1 liter of alcohol. The limit in Ontario states that if you are 19 and over, you may bring up to 200 cigs (1 carton or 10 packs) and 1.14 liters of alcohol. I turn 20 in September. Here's my problem, or a few. First, the alcohol is made at home from fermented raspberries and added sugar, it's apparently 70-90% in volume of how high the level is, so in any case if they ask me what the level is, should I say just 40-50?. It will also be placed in a plastic 1 liter bottle of what was mineral water, because it will break in a glass bottle. Now here's my question, when they give me that fillout paper on the route to Canada, should I play stupid and put nothing to declare and if they check luggage, say it was put on my luggage without my knowledge? or should I straight out tell them that I have this amount of alcohol and cigs? I've traveled for over 10 years back and forth to Europe to see family, but this is my first time traveling with alcohol and cigarettes. The cigarettes have a sticker under the plastic wrap which means that it is not illegal, purchased in my country. What should I do? play dumb or be responsible? And when/if they do check my luggage, will they remove my alcohol just because it's packaged in a mineral water beverage bottle? I am also bringing some gifts and lots of chocolate, will they take that too? Are they assholes like that? I'm obviously under the limit, they should just check it, confirm it and let me be, but they won't, will they? None of the items I have are from duty-free shops. more

Resolved Question: Where in Europe can I go on vacation?

I am a Chicagoan living in Prague. I want to go with a buddy somewhere warm, with SOFT sand beaches, great weather, and very comfortable hotels. Additionally I want a place large enough that there is something to do at night. I was on the (beautiful) Greek island of Thassos last year. The problem? Absolutely nothing to do at night. It had occurred to me that we could visit two places, but the package deals they sell here are way, way, way cheaper than what I could put together myself, so that's not an option. However, if I visited an island like Rhodes, perhaps they would have day trips to another island. (although that wasn't the case in Thassos)Uhhh.... did anyone read I want GOOD BEACHES? That kind of excludes Paris, folks. I'm thinking Santorini, Rhodes, or some place in or around Greece, Turkey, or Italy. But I can't find the right combination. Remember: 1) soft sand beaches 2) nice hotels 3) not too small; something to do at nightCan anyone give me SPECIFIC places: hotels, beaches, etc. ?????????? Resolved Question: Can I bring Klonopin, Ritalin to the US when traveling (Not a US citizen)?

Hi! I Live in Europe (Norway), and I am going to the USA for my vacation. But I am having trouble finding out which of my meds that I can actually bring with me. Don't want to do something illegal, and be deported when i arrive. Since I am not a US citizen I will be entering the US on a tourist visa. So does anyone know if I can bring -Klonopin (clonazepam), -Ritalin (ADD drugs) and/or -Zopiclone with me? ( I use this for sleep aid and anxiety) And if so will documentations in English from my Pharmacy be enough? These medications are prescribed to me here in Norway. My name and my doctors name are on the package (original package). It will only be for personal use, so I will only bring dosage for 1 week use. I tried to find specific info on the www.cbp.gov website, but could not find info on these specific drugs. It just states that some drugs are illegal to bring , and that you need documentation for personal meds, and that you have to show any drugs you are bringing with you. I know this might be a hard question, but I am hoping that someone out there might have some experience or knowledge on this matter. Thank you so much in advance! Take care, Lily in NorwayMy travel agent referred me to the embassy, but the US embassy is now closed for Easter. (We start Easter break earlier here in Norway) So Who do I ask? more

Resolved Question: Vacation Package to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam?

My wife and I are planning a 6-8 day trip to Europe and are planning to visit at least three cities, including Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. Anyone know where I can find good deals? We don't want any guided tour just airfare and hotels. Air France seems to have the best so far. Thanks more

Resolved Question: I need advice for a European Vacation that includes Amsterdam and Paris.?

In May 2009, I want to spend one week in Europe. I want to visit Amsterdam and Paris for sure... undecided on the rest. I would like ANY advice on ANY part of this vacation, from people who have already been there. For example... is it best to buy a package deal off the internet or consult a local travel agent? I have never been out of the United States and am excited and scared of making a mistake in my travel plans. :) Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question. more

Resolved Question: "The british are assholes" Look what I read in the news!?

By SARAH LYALL Published: August 23, 2008 MALIA, Greece — Even in a sea of tourists, it is easy to spot the Britons here on the northeast coast of Crete, and not just from the telltale pallor of their sun-deprived northern skin. Phil Harris/Mirrorpix An injured British tourist lay by a curb on a recent weekend after a fight in Malia, Greece. The New York Times British tourists have caused havoc at the Malia resort. They are the ones, the locals say, who are carousing, brawling and getting violently sick. They are the ones crowding into health clinics seeking morning-after pills and help for sexually transmitted diseases. They are the ones who seem to have one vacation plan: drinking themselves into oblivion. “They scream, they sing, they fall down, they take their clothes off, they cross-dress, they vomit,” Malia’s mayor, Konstantinos Lagoudakis, said in an interview. “It is only the British people — not the Germans or the French.” Malia is the latest and currently most notorious in a long list of European resorts full of young British tourists on packaged tours offering cheap alcohol and a license to behave badly. In Magaluf and Ibiza, Spain; in Ayia Napa, Cyprus; and in the Greek resorts of Faliraki, Kavos and Laganas as well as Malia, the story is the same: They come, they drink, they wreak havoc. “The government of Britain has to do something,” Mr. Lagoudakis said. “These people are giving a bad name to their country.” They are also hurting themselves in the process. A recent report published by the British Foreign Office, “British Behavior Abroad,” noted that in a 12-month period in 2006 and 2007, 602 Britons were hospitalized and 28 raped in Greece, and that 1,591 died in Spain and 2,032 were arrested there. The report did not distinguish between medical cases and arrests associated with drunkenness and those that had nothing to do with it. But it did say that “many arrests are due to behavior caused by excessive drinking.” So it would seem. Reports of scandalous incidents rumble on regularly here and elsewhere, helping to cement Britain’s reputation as the largest exporter of inebriated hooligans in Europe. Earlier this summer, flying home to Manchester from the Greek island of Kos, a pair of drunken women yelling “I need some fresh air” attacked the flight attendants with a vodka bottle and tried to wrestle the airplane’s emergency door open at 30,000 feet. The plane diverted hastily to Frankfurt, and the women were arrested. In Laganas, on the Greek island of Zakinthos, where a teenager from Sheffield died after a drinking binge this summer, more than a dozen British women were charged in July with prostitution after taking part, the authorities said, in an alfresco oral sex contest. More alarmingly, a 20-year-old British tourist partied with her sister and a friend into the early hours in Malia also in July, then returned to her hotel room and — although she had denied being pregnant — gave birth. Her companions say they returned later to find the baby dead; she has been charged with infanticide. And in Dubai, also this summer, a British man and woman who met during a drinking bout were arrested and charged with having sex on a beach, after repeatedly shouting abuse at a police officer who ordered them to stop. All of which leads to a natural question: Why? “I think that in their country, they are like prisoners and they want to feel free,” said Niki Pirovolaki, who works in a bakery on Malia’s main street and often encounters addled Britons heading back to their hotels — “if they can remember where they are staying,” she said. David Familton, a Briton who works in a club here, said that it was a question of emotional comfort. “It’s because of British culture — no one can relax, so they become inebriated to be the people they want to be,” he said. Worried about the increase in crimes and accidents afflicting drunken tourists, the British consulate in Athens has begun several campaigns, using posters, beach balls and coasters with snappy slogans, to encourage young visitors to drink responsibly. “When things do go wrong, they go wrong in quite a big way,” said Alison Beckett, the director of consular services. “What we’re trying to do here is reduce some of these avoidable accidents where they have so much to drink that they fall off balconies and are either killed or need huge operations.” What do you reckon?  more

Resolved Question: Reputable website recommendations on discounted vacation packages?

Hi, I'm looking for some good websites featuring good deals on all-inclusive vacation packages. Any suggestions? I'd like to travel to Europe, but that's probably out of the question due to the poor US dollar value vs euro & fuel prices. Mexico or South America are probably my choices at this time. Thanks!I live in the US by the way. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Help! Ex-husband won't sign passport application for minor child!?

Last year I planned a trip europe for my daughter. I purchased an all-inclusive package, plus round trip tickets. That week I went to apply for her passport (I already have one). I didn't konw that I would have to ask permission from someone that has never taken care of her. TMALSH, he refused to sign the passport. The tickets are none refundable and cannot be transferred or sould to another person due to post 9/11 issues. So, I had to go to europe without her. Nearly 1 year later, her ticket is going to expire and this nut still won't give a signature for a passport. What kind of recourse can I take? I don't want my daughter to be deprived of vacations because this sperm-donor is paranoid about child abductions (for no logical reason at all). more

Resolved Question: Are there any good air & hotel packages to New York City from Dallas?

Ok, I'm planning a trip to New York from Dallas, and I'm looking for either some great air & hotel packages or atleast some cheap tickets (non-stop preferred). I've searched for some tickets and I guess I can say they aren't as bad as a I thought, but they are not non-stop. And I'm going for vacation for only a week (yeah, surely not enough), so I don't want to spend more time on a plane than I have to. As for the hotels, they are definitely over my budget. I know it's not like a trip to Europe, but are there any good travel packages out there for the budgeted? more

Resolved Question: European vacation recommendations?

My friend and I, ages 25 and 35, want to go to Europe in about a year. She wants to drink a lot of beer for two weeks(she wants to do Dublin), and I want to see some historical sites, maye a couple walking tours. I'm trying to find some good packages, but we don't want to be stuck traveling with the same group of people on the same bus for days. We prefer to mostly do our own thing, just the two of us. But there's also communication issues to consider, so maybe we should be with a guide most of the time? For me, I hate wind. Rain is okay as long as it's not constant for days, snow I love but it's hard to travel in. She's more sensitive and would prefer the weather to be as mild as possible. So, on a budget of, say, $2,000 or so each, what are the best websites to use and which city or cities would fit our needs best? And what's the difference between Cork and Dublin?I'm looking for a package deal, flights and hotel, at leat a week, up to 2 weeks. I would love to hear from anyone Irish, and Europeans in general, as to specific areas that are full of things to do and not too expensive. Neighborhoods that are safe for young women, with inexpensive hotels and food. Thanks in advance! Thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: Where should I go on my honeymoon?

I will be leaving on Sept. 14 or 15 from Louisville, KY. I want to take a two week, international vacation for less than $5,000 including air, accommodations and most of the rest. I don't want to go to the Caribbean or Mexico--spending 2 weeks on the beach sounds far too boring. Western Europe is out as well, I've traveled most of Western Europe before and my fiance wants to go somewhere that is new to both of us. I want adventure travel, not deluxe travel. Anything is an option--Peru, Thailand, Morocco, Croatia, etc. Where should I go? Any links to particular trip options or vacation packages will be greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: algebra 1 honors help?

These questions are just extra credit i seriously need, if you can help me get started on how to and less of actual answer. Then you will be chosen as best answer 1. A group of friends decided to rent a house for a week vacation. They each had to chip in $70 for the weeks lodging. if they had been able to convince 3 more people to go, the cost per person would have been reduced by $14. What was the rent for the week? In steve's family, it is a custom to give presents to all of the other family members, but to ones self as well. This year, steve's brother who moved to europe will not be home during the holidays. He mailed all his gifts except his one of course. It all the presents being exchanged by steves family are lined up and steve counts 80 packages, how many persons are in Steve's family? more

Resolved Question: How can I go about planning a Europe vacation?

My mom is taking me on a vacation to Europe for finally graduating college this spring and we want to go in the summer or early fall. How can we go about for planning this? We want to purchase some sort of package that has tours, sightseeing, some backpacking maybe, hotel, food, and transportation all paid for but there are so many online websites so I'm not sure whether to start looking there or maybe going to a travel agency. Anyone have any ideas or tips on how to start planning, what to do, what I would need, or any other info? Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Mini-Vacation Ideas?

Okay, my husband and I are in dire need of a little vacation...just to get away from work and the miserable country we currently live in (Germany to be precise). Since we're military, we can't go far and we can't go for long...a week tops maybe. We're looking for something in Europe and I don't know where to start. Just to be clear though-we're not really looking to do sight seeing...even though a few we wouldn't mind; sun, sand, relaxing and maybe a slightly romantic environment would be nice (emphasis on the sun and sand - if that can be found around this time of year)...and cheap since the Euro rate is a B* against the dollar right now. A holiday package with a flight and hotel included (plus transportation) is a must. Anyone have any ideas? Also to add - please do not say Paris. It's cliche for "romantic" and it's a dirty city.Ryan - What's your problem? more

Resolved Question: Is there a way to arrive in Europe spending very little?

This is very important to me, I would like to know if there is a way in which I may get to Italy (or anywhere in Europe) for very little money. I believe in a movie two friends traveled to England from Ohio for 170$, they went to a this place where they told them to deliver a package, and all they had to do was pay 170$ and give this package to this person. Is anything like that possible? I really would like to know, I have lived in Italy for the past 9 years of my life. And know my father kicked me out of the house while I was on vacation visiting my relatives here in the U.S. I don't care if he kicked me out, my father always acted like a selfish child so i never expect nothing great from him. I need to get back to Italy though because of my girlfriend.. i miss her so much. I never wanted to leave her, but I was "forced" to by my father.. now I'm stuck here.. with very little money.. and all i care about is getting back to her... please help me..someone answer this question... more

Resolved Question: What is the best or cheapest inexpensive airfare or vacation package from Chicago to Amsterdam?

Resolved Question: When to leave a firm for one with a better package?

After months of hunting and waiting for the right position I was forced finanically to make a decision... Recently, (7 months ago) started with a small firm with a modest pay , little benefits, small scope of business. More recently (last week)contacted by much larger firm with an offer including a $42k increase over what I am making now and full benefits package including 4 weeks vacation. Big organization, global position including work in China, India and Western Europe. The question is a moral issue. I've never left a place in under 8 years. Do I pass on the late offer? Or do I move on? more

Resolved Question: How nice are the hotels in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires?

I want to order a vacation package for those two cities, but am afraid that the cheapest hotel/flight option might find me in a really crappy hotel. In my experience, 2 star hotels in Europe are fine to stay in, but I am not so sure about South America. Do I have to shell out major money and stay in a 4 star hotel? Does anyone know? more

Resolved Question: Why do I prefer to live in the European Union than US?

Because in some european states the medical and unemployment insurance is free. Here in the Republic of Austria 99% have the national health insurance. What if somebody is unemployed and ill? Literally, the government pays the insurance fee. All the MRI's are paid, all the best medication is imported from the US. I suffer from narcolepsy very badly, but here in Europa I can live like a king. I know the prescription drug costs for this US medication that I need are 500,- Euro per package every month. But the government is paying all my medical bills in advance, and I dont need to contribute a fraction of a single Euro. I get about 950 Euro allowance every month to pay for my really very classy appartment in a very beautiful city - so i dont need to worry at all. TWICE a year I get vacation allowance 800 Euro for a free trip to greece's sandy beaches.Yes thats right, the government pays vacation. So why, the hell should I leave this so communist europe and immigrate to the democratic US? more
