Open Question: Poll: Do you think America needs to be number one again?
We've fallen behind so much, after going to france on vacation I'm amazed how far behind we are at times, I think I want to try to encourage people to get educated better and try to be more european. moreResolved Question: So is San Diego as hostile as Los Angeles when it comes to Indian people and interracial dating?
Well guys, this December my friend wants to take me out to San Diego and he wants me to bring my girlfriend with me. I am an Indian (India) guy and my girlfriend is Puerto Rican (looks sort of Italian, the pale skin can make her pass for White). In terms of skin tone, I have a lighter skin tone than most Indians and often get mistaken for Southern European and Middle Eastern a lot. Anyways, this summer vacation I went to Los Angeles with my girlfriend and in many instances people gave me a hard time for being an Indian guy (India) in an interracial relationship. Mainly it was a lot of the Hispanic guys staring at her and in one instance the guy said to her "oh you dating a Latino man eh?", she said "no he's Indian", the guy threw a fit and started calling me all sorts of racial slurs. Honestly, I noticed that people in LA were not too kind about the fact that I was an Indian guy dating a Latina. I was wishing they would have ignored it and let it be but that wasn't the case. Let's just say my first trip to Southern Cal was a rough one because of it. My friend says that people in San Diego are less racist towards Indian men (India) who date interracial or are with partners of another race. Is that true? Also is it common for INDIAN MEN in San Diego to date interracial or is it a rare scenario? (I only asked about Indian men, not Black, White, Asian or Hispanic men). I live in NYC and here it is common to see Indians in interracial relationships and no one cares. moreResolved Question: Just curious. How do you like sea days?
Do you enjoy a vacation from your vacation you are already on and just relax, sleep in, and look forward to having your own free day. Or.. Do you like to have an action packed itineray with as little sea days as possible. I once went on a Crystal Cruise to the Northern Part of Europe for 11 days and there was only one sea day. I really enjoyed it. And then I went on another southern European Cruise for two weeks and there was only 1 or 2 sea days. I prefer as few days as possible and I actually seek out itineraries with very little sea days. I was just curious as to how others feel about sea days. moreVoting Question: Do I need a transformer AND a converter for using my appliances in Europe?
I am going on a vacation to Europe. I am from Canada. I bought the Royal Traveller (By Samsonite) RT6238WH Adaptor Plug Kit which has these wall outlet adaptors for Europe. It has the pins for the European wall outlet, and I can plug in my Canadian appliances. Someone told me that I need a transformer in addition to this adaptor plug. I am confused, so can someone help me figure out what I exactly need? moreResolved Question: Remember when Liberals used to be good?
They would organize charities to feed the hungry or petition the government to install wheelchair ramps in all Federal buildings so the disabled would have easy access to the buildings or maybe start a community garden in an impoverished area to help clean it up a little. They did nice things that others didn't think of or weren't willing to do. Now they seem to sit around watching TV and taking notes to ensure that gays are adequately represented in sitcoms, encouraging criminal activity among our Mexican neighbors and showing the world that no matter the economic situation, or First Lady can take a vacation worthy of any European queen. What the hell happened to you guys? moreVoting Question: Can I get custody of our two children, 7 and 9, when my wife goes to meet her boyfriend for 77 days in a year?
My wife started a love affair last summer and now wants to relocate to Europe, taking the kids with her and being supported by her much older lover (22 years). She comes and goes (5 disappearances) since last October for a total of 77 days. She's not willing to work, she neglects the kids (educationally many absences, she rarely cooks and I do most of the household chores while working full time). She just sits around webcaming her beau and continuously texting him). I filed first for the divorce, and I take care of the children's needs whether or not she's here or not. She's so confident that she'll get the children with all this neglect and abandonment. I have stayed in the home the whole time, our son is receiving cancer treatment,so the whole summer I have taking him to the hospital while she was 'vacationing' for 23 days and taking our daughter to summer school to improve her reading and writing skills. She's constantly depressed and has little energy to provide for the needs of the children in all major aspects. Historically she has sought out rich men or was supported in a European welfare system. What are my chances? Thank You!I'm in New York and right now we're going through with the forensic psychologist. She went only once because she needed a translator even though she's been coming here for the last 15 years. I just have to go one more time with the children. She's stalling the whole process mainly I think because I have provided a lot of documents, photos, love letters, etc.. One of her ambitions was to join a dance club while our son was receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments. How can I file for sole custody while the litigation is still pending? Can I go to Family court and ask for it or through the judge? When she leaves, she sporadically has contact with the kids and especially lately they refuse to talk or write to her even though I do encourage them to do so. When she returned the last time in late July, I gave her a check for four weeks of 'pendente lite' and automatically she demanded 4 checks not realizing that I had placed all four weeks on one check! Whole summer and no job! moreResolved Question: How many more Obama golf outings or European vacations will we have to endure before the job mkt improves?

It sends a message of indifference, even contempt, for the millions of Americans who are struggling just to feed their families on a daily basis and pay the mortgage, while the size of the national debt balloons to Greek-style proportions. While the liberal-dominated US mainstream media have largely ignored the story, it is all over the blogosphere and talk radio, and will undoubtedly add to the President’s free falling poll ratings. As much as the media establishment turn a blind eye to stories like this, which are major news in the international media, the American public is increasingly turning to alternative news sources, including the British press, which has a far less deferential approach towards the White House. moreResolved Question: Does the Obamas shows contemp for the American people?

Hello Everyone, Greetings from India. I am thinking to go for a 10 days vacation in Europe but i cant decide among Hungary and Ukraine. Hospitality i heard is great among both nationalities. So i am confused i cant afford both countries trip at same time. Some employers count vacation 'days' by the hours here (you get another 'hour' for x number of days on the job). I hear Europeans get a lot more vacation. Why is that. It's not fair. moreResolved Question: I would like to apologize to the EUROPEANS....?
I personally find it offensive when some Europeans on here stereotype the US as ignorant fools who act like Paris Hilton and eat at McDonald's... come on, you have to know the whole country is not like that, and you just haven't met a good American... But today, one of my highly educated bosses at my company proved me wrong. He has an MBA from a good American school, and he went to Spain for vacation with his family. Not to mention he completely ignored all my suggestions (having lived in Spain for 2.5 years) of places to go, he went explicitly to all the tourist places I told him NOT to go, and spent so much money.... Then he said he didn't even enjoy it. He didn't enjoy the beauty of Spanish guitar. And he told me he fed his kids McDonalds before going to a real Spanish restaurant just in case the kids didn't like it, they didn't have to eat it. He picked MCDONALDS over SPANISH FOOD???? I felt I was going to throw up!! And he said he "dressed down" so that the Spanish wouldn't see him as a "rich American" (though, he is pretty well off...). I felt offended that a well educated American like him would think that all foreign places want American money and think we are so rich. Where do they learn this? I am glad I don't watch TV enough to be brainwashed by American programming thinking everyone wants to be us, and European food and music is weird, and McDonald's is good.... So, I'm sorry, Europeans, for trying to defend my country... If you haven't been here, I wish you would know how wonderful the US could be, if we just got rid of the attitudes and ignorance.... hope you meet a good American someday to prove me wrong... moreResolved Question: How much would a European vacation cost?
My friend how are saving up our money for next year. We figure we will make 10, 000 dollars each witch will round it off to 20, 000. So we have 20, 000 dollars. What can we do? We live in Ottawa, Canada and we want to see Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France and of course the Netherlands. We also want to spend a lot on beer aha. So do you think we will have enough money? moreResolved Question: Do you think people in the U.S.A live better than rich Europeans countries?
I have posted this question a couple of times and I always get the same nonsense answer, but I understand, is all a matter of been proud where you from, nationalism. First, I'm a political refugee, unlike most people who live in the usa, you either an immigrant or your family came here for economy reasons like most hispanics and others. What does statistics say, many of rich Europeans countries, their way of life is much better than the U.S.A. Depression and Anxiety, I'm sure that is way higher here than those Europeans countries where life is more relax. Its funny how many people think here, most workers here are a bunch of slaves, that only have a couple of weeks of vacation and they think thats great,, this is funny, millions of people without health insurance, no jobs, 40 percent of the population living pay check to pay check, and you still think that this is such a great country, I have to say,,it was a great country, some family members and friends became millionares back in the 60's and 70's. Some of you say,,,hey ,,why don,t you move to Europe, I tell you...I got family here, but I wish,,,and you wish,,you were living in a country like Luxembourg, that has about less than one million people, they have the highest per capita in the world. I remember a bunch of college kids, they were laughing at this country for not having free school and health care....yeah,,they pay more taxes...but they can get sick,,any time of the day,,,they are covered...here..you wait for the bill......according to statistics, people in Canada live better than here, look at their unemployment, probably 8 percent,,,here is around 20%, according to Paul Krugman, Roubini, Stieglitz...,,,all these economist..someone answered a previous question that I posted, asking the same...he said it best, average joe live better in Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, etc....You all wish you were living like those Europeans...Briana...jajajaja...you are funny,,,people here have more depression..and anxiety,,,only americans think that live here is really good,,,people that have lived in rich Europeans countries,,and even canada...know that you are 100% wrong.. moreResolved Question: How would you rate the U.S.A way of life compared with rich Europeans countries?
With all your respect, I have read so many things that makes me laugh. I guess is just pure nationalism that Americans keep saying that this is the greatest country on earth. Well, I agree 100% that it was, when many friends and family members immigrated here back in the 60's, it was the greatest country on the planet. Now if you look at statistics (not opinions), all rich Europeans countries have a better way of live than the U.S.A, more vacation time, less crime, etc..etc...No wonder Oprah Winfrey was surprised when you visited either Denmark or Netherlands. I really wished that the U.S.A was the best country that provided the best quality of life, cause I live here, but in my opinion, this is not the case. People here live to work, in many countries like Spain where I lived, they work to live. Right now 40% of people in the U.S.A only have about 100 dollars left after they pay all their expenses according to economist. In my opinion the government destroyed a very prosperous country like the U.S.A, where many people, including some in my family who became millionaires and prospered in the 60's and 70's. * 13 minutes ago * - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details hey,,,by your comment...is obvious that you don,t care much about anyone else....I never forget about what a Portuguese co-worker told me, people here in the States are very selfish...that is a fact...Im glad you part of the 60 percent.....enjoy it.....I wonder how you made your money,,,cause that was not a smart answer... 0 seconds ago moreResolved Question: Do you think the U.S.A is the best country to live in the world?

How hard is AP Calc AB for someone who somewhat struggled in Pre-Calculus but is good at Algebra II? moreResolved Question: Why will Chicharito succeed whereas Gio and Vela are still a work in progress?
Chicharito Hernandez is a player like none other that Mexico has. His goal definition skills, footwork, speed, dribbling, and field vision are as polished as anyone on the Manchester United squad. He may look shorter than the rest of the squad, but no one can argue that his play conveyed that he belonged with the rest of the Man U team. The difference between him, Gio,and Vela has to do with their mental focus. Chicharito took this time off, not to vacation on beaches or go out to clubs like Ochoa, Gio, Vela, and Juarez did, but to workout on the fitness regiment that Sir Alex Ferguson gave to him. Chicharito stayed with his family to work on his conditioning and exercises to be at the same level of European players. Ferguson himself said after the game that Chicharito is already as polished as some of the best players in Europe and his only concern was whether Chicharito can adapt to the fitness training of the club. Gio, according to Harry Redknapp has improved a lot, but he is concerned as to whether or not Dos Santos will put more effort into practices than he did at the local nightclubs in England. Arsene Wenger doesn't make mistakes and he still believes in Vela, but Vela lacks confidence in shooting with his right foot. That being said, we will see if he improves. In short, Chicharito has the polish of a mature football player anxious to succeed and it is his maturity that already sets him ahead of Giovani Dos Santos and Carlos Vela. moreResolved Question: Don't know who to support?
Chelsea, Arsenal, or Liverpool. Man Utd. is out of the question. I am thinking about Chelsea because I went to Stamford Bridge as part of my European vacation. But I feel like such a glory hunter. I like Arsenal because they aren't amazingly great and they have Fabregas, yet they are still good. I like Liverpool because of history and Torres. But they aren't that great and their supporters are, "different" Which team should I support and why? I want reasons if you want best answer. If the Euro appreciates versus the dollar, what does that mean about the value of the dollar? Is it cheaper or more expensive to have a vacation in countries using the Euro? (The Euro is the currency used in many European countries) moreResolved Question: What are all the countries in Europe?
also, what are some good cities and countries to hit if you were going on a European vacation? particular hotels and restaurants to go to? moreResolved Question: Why does it seem as if the majority of Europeans have something against the United States?
I am an European born American and have lived in the US for 7 years now. I have grown to love this country with our culture and "semi-perfectness." Back when I lived in Europe, I craved to be an American. Dare to say, I considered Bush as the smartest man on Earth. But lately, I've noticed a lot of hate against the United States. I'm sitting here in Europe on vacation, wondering why some people here might find the US a bad place. As I have lived in the United States for a large portion of my life, I can tell you myself that absolutely nothing sets apart the US from Europe on the subject of friendliness and education. Sure, there are a lot of nuts here; but the rest of the kids are hard working individuals striving to make a future. I've seen kids here dreaming about being famous or being well known doctors. If there is something left of our pride, it is our faith. We believe in our future. The government has been rough lately but is nowhere near the term "corrupt." Obama has been helping this country lately, not destroying it. It is the republican party with Bush and McCain who gave us a bad name. I'm sorry for our tourists; they can be a bit snotty (I've seen them on the plane.) But for the majority of us, (310M strong) we are not stupid, fat, or snotty. I only rarely see a fat American; I only see obese immigrants here. So as for the question, what makes Europe hate us? Is it envy, politics, people, or the tourists? Please explain. Thank you. moreResolved Question: Am I the only one that believes cutting summer vacation won't do our students any good?
In 2008 I graduated from a prestigious public magnet school, majority of the students there were not rich but they were either middle class or lower class. At an early age I lived in Europe and I have family members that live in Europe, usually I notice the school days there are shorter than they are here in the US but they have year round school. Now the thing is this, in Asian and European countries, the culture is so different in terms of education. Students are expected to go to school to LEARN and study their academics, in the US most students go to school to socialize, play sports and do other things. In Europe if you wanted to play sports you played outside of school for some club or something, in the US I notice that schools spend millions of dollars on new football stadiums and basketball courts sometimes. Athletes are looked up to by their peers while kids who care about their grades and make good grades are called nerds and geeks, I noticed it among my friends too (currently I attend an Ivy). Do you think the reason we struggle academically compared to the rest of the world is basically cultural? moreResolved Question: Why do Americans think they can compete with the rest of the world academically in this condition?
Okay I know I sound kind of rude saying this but think about it. In Germany and other countries if you want to play sports you play for private leagues in high school, in European schools, you go to school for one reason, that is to study and study and study and LEARN. Apparently this isn't the case in the US, schools spend MILLIONS on football stadiums and basketball courts, athletes are worshiped and those who want to actually do something with their life and get good grades are called nerds, geeks and everything. In my travels to Europe, I observed that students that made good grades were well respected by their classmates, not the case in the US. If you wanted to play sports, you played outside of school while in the US, well schools just make sure that athletes get everything they can to play. Teachers will pass a failing athlete just so he can play in the next basketball game. In that condition, just why do Americans think they can compete with the rest of the world academically? Eliminating summer vacation and putting more hours in school won't help the situation. moreResolved Question: Corporate America - are you worked to death?
Don't get me wrong - a strong work ethic is a good thing. But how much holiday do you get every year? Do you always take a vacation -or are you afraid that people in the company will think badly of you? Have you ever looked back on your life and wondered whether being "Mr/Mrs Corporate" was worth it? Do you look at Europeans (usually with six weeks holiday per annum) with envy - or contempt? Just wondered. moreVoting Question: How can I get a Hawaii drivers license if I can't provide an own car?

Hey, I'm fifteen. I just came back from a vacation in Europe and I sorta fell in love with the fashion. I love the way Europeans dress, like sophisticated and vintage. That's how I want my style to be. So I was wondering is there anywhere I can stay informed with the latest European fashion trends? Like through out the year and stuff? My husband and I are going to Europe for two weeks in December. At first we were going to spend all 2 weeks in Paris but now I'm wondering if maybe we should go somewhere else for the second week. I need some good ideas. Obviously paris in december is going to be on the chilly side so going somewere like Greece is out as it a lot warmer there and we dont want to have to bring two sets of clothes for both warm and cool weather. The best idea so far is London and area but its on a different currency and is so expensive so we are a little hesistant although we would love to see it. We want something that is going to be decently priced (after a week in Paris!), same climate and has a lot of sights to see as I love history! Any suggestions would be great!so far Germany seems to be a hit..which is great as my step fathers family still lives there and my husbands grandfather owns a hotel in Munich! moreResolved Question: How much for a European vacation?
Me and my sister want to go to europe in two years, most likely over the summer or early spring. there are a few countries we want to go to, (germany), (italy), (england), (switzerland or austria) and then just one night in (paris) probably. we are just curious how much money people think it will be from their own experiences. We have two years to save up so we want to get some info! we will be flying out from St. Louis Missouri and would be willing to go on "tours" just to feel safer being with a group of people. Basically how much for air, hotels, food, and just in general getting around, per person should I expect to have to save up? Any tips please. and, what order would be easiest to do for those countries? to save time moreResolved Question: Does America advertise in Europe?
I see ads in America for us to visit other countries for vacation and I just wondered if America advertise in the same way in Europe, this would make sense since the Euro is worth more than the dollar and European will get more bang for their Euro. moreVoting Question: European fasion basics?

Must love children, and must be organized, active, clean, enthusiastic, a go-getter, friendly, caring, patient and loving. Kathy our only child and daughter plays a very important role in our family, Ever since she was born, the family has never remained the same for good.I and my husband will do anything to make Kathy and her nanny happy as well.Kathy's' prefect day is a warm morning when she knows she has her nanny around to cater for her.She loves to eat any good food but more of cereals, and she does take nap during the day. There 're just the three of us in the house hopefully you will be the fourth person. If you live-in with us, you'll get to have your own toilet and bathroom, including a personal computer connected to the internet in your room. Europeans have health care for all citizens, better than is available here. They all have guaranteed retirement and no possibility of losing social security. The all get from 5-7 weeks paid vacation a year and homelessness and starvation is virtually unheard of in most countries. There is no lobbying paying off corrupt politicians so they can trust the food and drug companies. Europeans have freedoms Americans can only dream of such as freedom of worry from financial ruin. Are we ever going to discover that quality of life is more important than whether or not the American corporations get their wishes in everything? An American actually talking about other countries operating in the red; thank's for illustrating the delusional quality of American propaganda.I come from a European country and know what life there is like as well as here and for your information the taxes paid by the working person is less in most European countries than here! Things like property taxes on single family homes is negligible or absent. My cousin who made just over $2 000 000 last year in Europe paid about 35% in taxes but so what?Geribald: Propaganda is also acceptable but when it is employed to blind the population it works to destroy the civilization. One reason most European nations are so much better off than the US is also because large corporations discovered decades ago that if they did not share the wealth they would have no customers. Europe is not perfect but at least it does not have as much corruption as the US. One of the other reasons for the problems in the US is the enormous prison population; a larger percentage by far than 1st world countries!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index US at Nr 13; I would put it far lower due to the amount of poverty and lack of social care such as medicine for sick people.I am from Europe all right but my children were born here and live here; I would like for them and my grandchildren to have a life at least as good as the people in Europe. By the way my income is a few times higher than the average American's, so I do not suffer. moreResolved Question: What should I pack for European vacation (19yr old girl)?
My family is visiting friends in Switzerland, Denmark, and Germany for 16 days and I am clueless about what to pack. I'll be going clubbing and partying a lot and don't really know much about what to expect in European clubs. Could someone please guide me to some resources or something that can help me figure out what to pack, or just offer suggestions? I haven't been to Europe in about 5 years and know nothing about the party scene over there. Specifically what should I wear to blend in? Also, what kind of music should I become familiar with? Are there any "emergency items" I should bring? Thanks a lot for all answers! I'm hoping this will help a lot! moreResolved Question: What appeals to you more - a tropical or European vacation?

I am planning a trip to Europe and would love to see as much as possible. While looking into prices i am noticing a HUGE difference in price between a simple vacation where i would pay for hotel, trains, attractions, etc and if i were to take a Europe tour service. The europe tour services i have seen are bus tours that last as long as 11 days for about 2000 with hotels included.and they go to MANY places. So my question is how restricted are these tours? I wouldnt want to spend 11 days in a bus! Am i supposed to stay with a group of people or are we free to roam around at each stop? If i were to go and pay to go independantly I wouldnt be able to see as much but i imagine i would have more freedome. Would it be as fun though? I imagine being in a place where i have no idea where anything is and might miss out on fun stuff simply because i have no idea where they are. So any advice? Cheaper with more things experienced but less freedome...or more expensive with less things experienced but free to do/go wherever? I would love to hear from people who have done either of the above and hear what your experience was. If youve done both then GREAT! please let me know! moreResolved Question: Are the Women Topless on European Beaches?
We are considering a vacation to Europe, if we can get some bargains. I am not quite sure where, it will depend on the prices. I have been told by friends that the women all go topless on the beaches. I have also been told that there is a lot of nudity on the beaches, that people change into their swimming clothes right on the beach, and that there is sometimes sex on the beaches. I looked at some travel books, and found words like “surprising to Americans” and “a different dress code”, but no real info. I have two teenage daughters and a teenage son. My family is kind of relaxed about clothes. My daughters take showers when my son is in the bathroom, and visa-versa. We change clothes together in hotel rooms. My son has seen me and my daughters naked many times, and my daughters have seen my son and husband naked many times. So I don’t think seeing a topless woman on the beach is a problem. I am concerned about nudity. It’s one thing in the family, but different with strangers. Also, if all the women are topless, are my daughters going to feel pressure to expose their breasts. Does anyone have any real experience so they can tell me what European beaches are really like. Thanks. moreResolved Question: iPhone 4: Apple store or at AT&T (for european customer)?
I'm from Europe and I want to buy an iPhone 4. I'm sure about buying it in USA (cheaper and better release date) and fortunately I'll be in USA on vacation when iPhone 4 will be released. But I have a problem: where to buy it? At AT&T for 299$ or at Apple store (or any reseller) for price about 799$ (But I'm not actually sure about this number). I've heard that AT&T can unblock your phone so you can have contract with AT&T european partners instead of having it with AT&T itself. Also I've heard about cracking iPhone so it can be used with any sim card. However I don't know much about it and I don't know if it would be possible for new iOS. But I would prefer this option, and maybe I would be I able to crack it myself, as I already jailbroke my iTouch. What do you think? moreResolved Question: Is it cheaper for Europeans to travel than it is for Americans?
I have friends in the United Kingdom and France, and they're ALWAYS traveling! They're not rich either. I think they would be in the lower-middle class ranking. My friends in England just came back from a Spanish resort in Spain, and they're planning on going to Turkey and even Greece within the next 2 months! My friends in France just went to Australia for a WHOLE MONTH. They also fly to places in Asia in the summertime for vacation and everything. So, are flying prices in Europe a lot cheaper than they are in America? I remember one of my English friends saying that you can get round-trip tickets to Italy for under £50! Does it have to do with the Euro and Pound currency since they're worth more? Do airlines and resorts offer lower prices to Europeans for some reason? It's so expensive to travel here in America, especially on a plane. My family hasn't been on vacation in years even though we're upper-middle class!Donald Duck - Do you know WHY it's cheap? Also, why would it cost 10 Euro to go from London to Rome when the United Kingdom uses the Pound for currency and not the Euro? o.O Why are you from? moreResolved Question: What is acceptable clothing for European vacation?
