Hello. I'm a Srilankan. last year December I visited Germany for my best friend's wedding. I celebrate Xmas and New Year with them. I was there for 30 days and last time I got the sponsorship letter (Verpflichtungserklärung) from her dad. Last time I submit many documents regarding my willingness to return and etc. Now this time also they want me to come to Germany to celebrate Xmas and New Year with them. But the problem is her dad is unable to get that sponsorship letter( Verpflichtungserklärung) this time. and is it enough that he only sends me an Invitation letter? and also is there any chance of getting visa because I already got visa once and this is my second time? and I’m still a student and following degree in IT. Next year I will be graduating. so I’m planning to apply visa for my vacation period. so I must come back for my graduation in order to get my degree. is it a good reason for them to prove that my willingness to return? Since I’m a student her dad is paying me for the tickets. And do I need a lot of money and transactions in my bank accounts too because I’m applying without that sponsorship letter ( Verpflichtungserklärung)? Okay, it's quite complicated. I'm an international student and I already had a flight from Germany to LAX and back. Then I decided to extend my stay and go on vacation to Costa Rica with my host family. I booked a round trip with AA. LAX-MIA-SJO to get to CR and SJO-DFW-LAX to get back. Then I was thinking what an incredible waste of time it would be to go all the way back to the west coast (LAX) and then take my flight back home. So I decided to change my original flight from LAX to DFW. My plan: Getting on the AA flight in SJO, get off at DFW, skip the flight to LA and take the BA flight to Germany instead. Since the day of my departure is coming close, I am a little nervous... 1. Will I be able to check my baggages all the way from SJO to Germany? 2. Will I have to face any charges for skipping the 2nd AA flight? 3. What do I have to do once I land in DFW? Do I have to clear my baggages and go through customs even though I'm not entering the US? 4. Do I have to check in for the BA flight to Germany at DFW, do I have to do it online or will they check me in in SJO? I have to add that my student visa expired so I wouldn't be able to leave the airport in DFW. When i was little my sister brought home a puppy, 2 years later I developed strange symptoms: -Extreme Nausea -Diarrhea -Weight loss (I was just bones, no meat) -Weak Immune system -Loss of appetite I became very ill and the doctors said that they didn't know what was this and said i was going to die. Then my parents gyved the dog away, 6 months later i began to feel better. In 2006 I went to germany for a vacation and my uncle had my dog's brother, and he had puppy's :3 and I took one of the puppy's without knowing my past. In 2008 my symptoms got back and then my parents told me what happened when i was a kid. Now i have the symptoms again and the doctors still don't know what this is. Okay I know I sound kind of rude saying this but think about it. In Germany and other countries if you want to play sports you play for private leagues in high school, in European schools, you go to school for one reason, that is to study and study and study and LEARN. Apparently this isn't the case in the US, schools spend MILLIONS on football stadiums and basketball courts, athletes are worshiped and those who want to actually do something with their life and get good grades are called nerds, geeks and everything. In my travels to Europe, I observed that students that made good grades were well respected by their classmates, not the case in the US. If you wanted to play sports, you played outside of school while in the US, well schools just make sure that athletes get everything they can to play. Teachers will pass a failing athlete just so he can play in the next basketball game. In that condition, just why do Americans think they can compete with the rest of the world academically? Eliminating summer vacation and putting more hours in school won't help the situation. more

I naturally have very thick hair but since 3 or more months, when I comb my hand through my hair, about 5 to 10 hairs end up on my hand. Sometimes when I wake up there is a little bundle of it on the pillow. Is this normal? I live in Singapore, where the Humidity is often 80 to 100%. Can this be the cause? Yet, I have been in Germany for vacation since the end of June, but I still experience the same amount of hair loss. I have been using anti-hair loss shampoo since the beginning of May. I started off with the typical Head and Shoulders, but since June I have moved on to a very expensive herbal type. My friend is going on vacation for 4 weeks, and decided to spend a week with me before heading off. Last night we wanted to have sex, and so i asked him if he had a condom (although we don't really use them). When he brought it back i was pissed to know that he had a condom. I took two years of Spanish in middle school (three actually, if you count one in elementary school in a different district) that counts as one year of high school Spanish. So I'm set to go into Spanish II for this coming year, my freshman year. Except I don't really know what to do. My school offers Spanish, German, French, and Mandarin Chinese. I'm not interested in Mandarin at all and while I love the way French sounds and would love to be able to understand it, I just don't have the drive to learn it. I'm currently self-teaching Russian to myself at home, so I'm not so sure it's such a great idea to double-up on languages and take Spanish II, German I, and the equivalent of Russian I (if that even exists somewhere) at HOME. So, I'm trying to figure out my priorities language-wise. I'm keeping the Russian; I've wanted to learn it all my life and I'm on a roll now so I'm not going to drop that. So it's between Spanish and Russian. Yeah, I've used up two years on it, for the equivalent of Spanish I. But this would also be a good point to quit if I were going to do so. Yeah, Spanish is "spoken in more countries than German" but unless I'm getting a low-paying job here in the U.S. or attempting to read the signs in stores these days, I don't really, like, NEED it. I'm a 3rd-gen German immigrant (aka my great-grandparents immigrated here) but they came right before WWII, and so obviously it wasn't the best idea to be touting your German-ness about then and it died out; none of my living family members know German. (My grandma knew it, but she died long before I was born, of cancer.) But if you want to be a professor, or go into medicine, or anything like that, German is the language of choice, as well as if I travel to/work in/live in Europe, anywhere. I'd take both if I could - my ultimate goal is to be a polyglot - but I'm trying to prioritize. In THIS MOMENT, what's best? And I don't mind "starting over" with German - I actually took a trimester's-worth in middle school, and would have taken that instead of Spanish from the start, but they stopped offering it - since I only had the year's-worth of Spanish. Ultimately, I'm not interested in vacationing in Mexico or traveling to Central or South America, and if so it'd be short and I could probably get by well enough on what I know now and some crude sign language, if necessary. On the other hand, I expect to be traveling to Europe at LEAST a few times in my adult life, if not moving there. So, I'm thinking German, but wanted to hear opinions...? And don't try playing the minority card or the "German is only spoken in Germany and Austria" thing. So i have been dating this guy for 6 weeks now his ex is staying with him for one month well till july 19 than him and i will go to visit europe for 2 weeks. I am foreigner working for an IT company in Germany and I think I am being treated unfairly: - They hired me a year back saying that I would have a fairly high level in the company ladder; but later I discovered that they placed my as a junior professional with 1-2 years of experience. - I have so far had a good professional career and it is not that I have been failing to perform well. I have also received excellent reviews in the past one year. I have 4 years BS, 2 years MS and 6+ years of professional experience. My German is not fluent but it is still OK enough. - My company has also repeatedly placed such people as my supervisors who are less than in skills and qualifications to me. - I feel that my qualifications are far higher than some of my German peers both in terms of knowledge, grasp and experience. I have told this to managers, they acknowledge that but have failed to fix it in a year. It seems that they are willing to fail than to give me a chance. - Now my immediate boss is going on a months vacation and he has placed one of his favorites as in-charge while he is gone. He protege is a young guy with no specific skill other being blue eyed boy of the manager. His attitude is also very rude and harsh towards me. I find his attitude towards me very insulting. I have talked to my supervisor, he did not have any objective reason for his decision but persisted with his opinion. I think it is by design that they want only Germans to be in managerial positions. - The only common string that I find is that they are placing Germans in position of importance. There is not a single Black/Brown person at a senior position in my company. - In the work place, I am also subject to derogatory remarks about my culture, which I ignore; considering them to be in bad humor but they still are offensive. I'm considering entering the Air Force Nurse Corps and I want to hear people's perspectives on it, pros and cons. I just graduated with a BSN and I'm planning to get married next September, so I think if I do decide to go through with it that I'll wait till after then. Miliary isn't something that I've really considered before, but I've started to look at it and it seems like a pretty good option. I have a ton a questions. And what are deployments like? How often are nurses deployed and long do they typically go for? I heard up to a year or longer is possible. Would you get to come home and visit family anytime if you had to be deployed for an entire year? What kind of training do nurses do? I know they go in as officers, so no boot camp, but what kind of training do nurses get? What kind of pay do nurses receive? Is it competitve with civilian nursing jobs? I have about $20,000 in student loans that I need to pay back. I heard the military will help pay back loans, but how exactly does that work? And I want to go to grad school eventually, will they help with that? And I hear they give you money for housing, or you can live on base. Can you live on base for free? Can you have pets? Do you get to pick where you're stationed? I've heard that you make a wish list and they try to honor it. Say I get stationed somewhere I don't like, can you request to transfer somewhere else after a certain amount of time? I'm really interested in traveling and would love to work in other countries, but I wouldn't want to stay in the same place for the full 4 years. I read on the Air Force website that during your 30 days vacation "you can take advantage of available space on Air Force aircraft. You can fly to exotic destinations, including Italy, Australia, England, Germany, Japan and almost any state in the U.S." Does that mean you can fly for free if there's available space? I have dirty blonde hair, and just or fun I want to de it blonde. I am in Austria for vacation, and I went to this little grocery store called Billa and there was hair dye there. The most reasonably priced one I saw was from the compny Schwarzkopf, but the directions are in German. I understand German pretty well because I used o live in Germany but I don't want to take any chances. Anyone else used this type of hair dye? Can you tell me a rough idea of how to use it? Also, they had the plain blonde type which was about 7 euros, and then one that looked especially for streaks that was like 10 euros. My cousin in Germany is getting married in September to a Nigerian man 20 yrs.(!!!) her junior. I am concerned about many things. One thing is his behavior with his friends. Seems they are his first priority. When my cousin visited him in Nigeria he brought 5 friends with him to pick her up at the airport. During her stay they nearly never spent time alone. Some of his friends even stayed at his apartment during her 2 week vacation. They met with his friends EVERY day. In the evenings they gathered with other friends. Day in,day out all the same!!! They went for 2 days to a hotel at the beach.Of course with 3 of his friends in tow. When my cousin left Nigeria she was in tears. He promised her that all would be different after they get married an he would stay in Germany for good. Then came his turn to visit HER in Germany last February. He stayed for 3 weeks. During the first week she drove him around all over Germany so he could visit friends, who already immigrated. The second week he traveled to Austria to meet a friend who is living there!! Third week: My cousin drove him to Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has friends there too. On their way back, a visit to other friends in Germany was payed. He will come to Germany again in August to getting prepared for their wedding. But you are wrong if you think that he is going to spend the whole month until the wedding with my cousin. He will arrive on a Monday but 2 days later he will already be on his way to Italy, to visit another friend for 6 days!!! Is this "friends come first behavior"common in Nigerian culture?? Should my cousin be concerned too?? Might his age (he is 30) be the reason and he will chance some day when he gets older? BTW Some of his friends are calling my cousin (she is 50) "Mama".
