I'm lebanese and I just went to greece with my boyfriend for vacation. we are in the mediteranean and Lebanon is actually RIGHT NEXT TO CYPRUS! which means that we could have the SAME appearance and genes. My problem is that everyone here I meet, they go like WHOA! Youre lebanese? How come youre white and have blonde hair? ( I have blonde hair, blue eyes and PALE SKIN) yes. Thats true I mean OMG GUYS! Were in the mediteranean and we have the same music, same food, etc. Why does everyone think that lebanese people are not white? and then they asked me why i was wearing shorts and if it was allowed in my religion! All the gas stations do not have oil to supply the people and those who are driving Trucks which carry goods such as food. there is this one girl who i got relatively close to about 2 years ago at this vacation, and ever since i have been maintaining a facebook/msn connection with her, sometimes see her at parties (she lives relatively close). i am currently on vacation in greece, and i kinda want to see her, maybe go to a movie or something, so i sent her a message asking her if she would be going there too (since we are both from there) and she said that she would if her parents found tickets...and apparently they did, so i asked her when and where she would be at, after which she replied that she would be in the same place as me, but getting there towards the end of the month...i am leaving the beginning of next month...ok kinda complex. (she is getting there July 20th-ish, and i am leaving Aug.2). so i told her that we might not see each other, but to send me a message if she wants to do something..to which she replied that she would send me a message when she gets there to see what we will do...aaanddd its been like..2 weeks, and its the 24th, and on her facebook she posted that she is in greece and is really happy to see everyone...is she a) for some reason avoiding me and i am wasting my time...b) just not accustomed yet, and needs some more time to relax and then send me the message?.... so should i just wait or send her a message like "hey, are you here now?"..cause i dont want to wait it out, and then its already Aug 1st and i have to leave the next day... thanks for the help more

first let me say: im 26/f and incredibly busy. i typically eat whatever is in reach because im constantly on the go and i don't cook. i would cook if i though that was feasible but honestly picking up something on the go is far less time consuming. im 150lb, and 5'6 and i want to be 135 by aug. 18th (going on a 3 week vacation to greece) i know you all are gonna tell me: eat ride exercise, watch calories etc. but truthfully i already do that as much as i can (ie. ill get a salad and yogurt for lunch instead of McDonald's hate McDonald's) but i still gain weight. is there any trick you guys know about to help me get down to 135 by aug 18th. i take a multivitamin and am prepared to do drastic things. don't judge. just help. please? more

My husband and I are going to Europe for two weeks in December. At first we were going to spend all 2 weeks in Paris but now I'm wondering if maybe we should go somewhere else for the second week. I need some good ideas. Obviously paris in december is going to be on the chilly side so going somewere like Greece is out as it a lot warmer there and we dont want to have to bring two sets of clothes for both warm and cool weather. The best idea so far is London and area but its on a different currency and is so expensive so we are a little hesistant although we would love to see it. We want something that is going to be decently priced (after a week in Paris!), same climate and has a lot of sights to see as I love history! Any suggestions would be great!so far Germany seems to be a hit..which is great as my step fathers family still lives there and my husbands grandfather owns a hotel in Munich! more

It's approximately 7 weeks until my vacation in Greece. I'm like 140lbs. and 5'6 so not really overweight. if i cut ALL junk food & fast food out of my diet and ate a small breakfast and lunch, and then a healthy dinner without snacking (apart from on fruit and veggies) and combined this with exercising like 3-4 times a week for up to an hour each time, how much weight could I lose in the next 7 weeks? I know it's harder for not overweight people to lose the last few pounds, so I'm wondering how well this new eating regime would work. Thankyou!! :) more

I know this was a very long time ago. In August 2001 me and my family travelled to Greece on a two week vacation. We all had a great time at the hotel we stayed at and the food was brilliant. On the last night before we left we were in for an unpleasent suprise becasue when me and my family (my brother, my dad and my mum) decided to go to the hotel resturant for one last dinner. Apperently according to the manager of the hotel on your last dinner you had to wear trousers to look smart. Unfourtantly my farther packed all the suitcases and he was wearing shorts. I think the hotel manager approached my dad and said you had to wear trousers my dad lost his cool and started arguing with the hotel manager both exchanging insults a eachother. About 5 mins after the arguing ended my mum started crying (don't know why she cried). I can't remember if my dad travelled to the hotel room and changed his clothers? Do you think my dad was in the right or not or do you think he could have handeld the situation bettert? My dad told me that he was unaware that you had to wear trousers on your last night. he told me later on that if the hotel manger punched him he would have got him fired from his job. He also said that he felt like punching the manager himself. The hotel manager was also greek but could speak english quite well. My dad was 43 at the time, I was 11, my brother was 9 and my mum was 42. Not really setting a great example arguing infront of me :(You can be as honest as you wan't on your opinions. more

I'm taking a vacation to Greece and Turkey: 3 days in Athens, 3 days in Santorini, and 5 days in Istanbul. I want to take a ferry from Santorini to Istanbul. Traveling by train from Athens is not a good option for me because it's time consuming and hard for my family to carry around all our luggage from train to train, so that's why I want to try to get a ferry. I love my story, it's perverted but a rare way to come out to your friend :\ Me and my best friend went on vacation together to Greece for a week. We were at the hotel pool chilling and then she randomly went for 15 minutes and I couldn't find her, so I went to our hotel room and walked in on her sucking suck random guys "you know what". I freaked out and kind of panicked, she said "Come and join in!!!" I nearly had a heart attack and screamed "No way! I'm a lesbian!" before making a run for it. and she just took his "you know what" out of her mouth and was just like "Oh Ok.. I thought so, you finally told me" SOOOOOOOOOOO AWKWARDDDDDDDDD!!! I have friends in the United Kingdom and France, and they're ALWAYS traveling! They're not rich either. I think they would be in the lower-middle class ranking. My friends in England just came back from a Spanish resort in Spain, and they're planning on going to Turkey and even Greece within the next 2 months! My friends in France just went to Australia for a WHOLE MONTH. They also fly to places in Asia in the summertime for vacation and everything. So, are flying prices in Europe a lot cheaper than they are in America? I remember one of my English friends saying that you can get round-trip tickets to Italy for under £50! Does it have to do with the Euro and Pound currency since they're worth more? Do airlines and resorts offer lower prices to Europeans for some reason? It's so expensive to travel here in America, especially on a plane. My family hasn't been on vacation in years even though we're upper-middle class!Donald Duck - Do you know WHY it's cheap? Okay so my family went on a trip to Greece and Italy from March 25-April 6. I brought along some Mary Jane's, sneakers, and flip flops. I also brought along my $400 orthotics. Halfway through the trip I decided (because we were then in Greece) that it was getting warmer and I would stop wearing the sneakers and mary jane's and start wearing my flip flops. So I put my orthotics in my shoes and put them in my suitcase. Then there was a 3-day cruise after ITaly and Greece, it was around the Greek Isles. I was unloading all my clothing into the drawers so I could easily reach it. But I couldn't find my orthotics, and I started freaking out. They weren't in there. But I couldn't tell my mom. I was sure she would freak out at me and punish me,and it would ruin our vacation. So I said that I would tell her @ home. But then I got home and I was unloading my suitcase, and i said I would tell her the next day, and the next and the next and the next and the next So here we are @ June 21st, and I still haven't told her. But I am going to tell her today. Its just, I've put it off this long because me and my mom don't have a close relationship, in fact the only time she ever seems to talk to me is if she's yelling @ me, or she needs me to do something. I got in trouble because I lost my phone and my iTouch. Then I lied to her because I was scared to tell her, and she took away my phone, itouch, and tv for 3 months. I know I got in trouble cuz I lied but I still feel like I got in trouble because I lost them. My family isn't rich, we are just getting by. I'm scared that she's gonna have to pay for the orthotics. She didn't have to pay for them at first because my podiatrist is a friend and she didn't want to have to charge my mom. Also my mom didn't buy the orthotic insurance so I don't know what's going to happen. Me and my real dad (parents=divorced) are in a fight and he doens't want to pay my medical bills anymore.
