Resolved Question: HHonors, Hilton Points Question?

I have made 2 reservations for an upcoming vacation at 2 different Hilton locations through Travelocity. There was no where to enter my HHonors # when making these reservations. So my question is...Will the hotels credit my points to my account at check in even though I paid for these stays online? I don't want to miss out on over 5,000 HHonors points. Anyone know?I booked through Travelocity rather than through Hilton because I received some credits through Travelocity for another booking that was incorrect, a mistake on their part. I guess I will miss out on the points but it was by far a better deal to use our credits to book these stays on Travelocity vs booking through Hilton like we usually do. more

Resolved Question: Florida Spring Break Question, PLEASE HELP ASAP?

I need advice quick I’m planning a vacation for Spring Break, and I don’t know where I want to go. I want to go somewhere warm, but with a upbeat atmosphere I was thinking about Florida. I would love to go to Panama since it is spring break season but I’m afraid it wont be warm enough there. Also I am 21 and I’m taking a few of my friends and my sister and two of her friends they are 17 and 18. So I’m going to need something to entertain all age groups and Disney world is out of the question. We want to go to a pretty and fun beach with like a typical board walk and the touristy shops. So the question is where is a fun place in Florida to go that is semi affordable and has something to do for all age groups. My sister wanted to go the Miami or Fort Lauderdale but I’m afraid the clubs are 21+ and all they would do is sit up in the room. I don’t want to go into the Keys because airfare is ridiculous I wish that Myrtle beach or Hilton Head was warm this time of year. Keep in mind we don’t have to go to Florida just somewhere with a beach that has nice weather, I go to bowling green state university in Ohio so we are all looking to get out of the cold. By the way someone mentioned California or Alabama but I am not familiar with that area. SO like hi. Here are the winter vacation plans. It's myself and my boyfriend with 4 other friends. Jan 6. Fly to Ft. Myers, FL from BOS. Flight is free because I work for jetblue. Stay over night with friends who work in RSW. Jan 7: Drive to Ft. Lauderdale in a rental car. Stay with friends who live in FT. lauderdale. overnight. Jan 8: Pick up our other 4 friends, and check into our Embassy Suites hotel room in Ft. Lauderdale. Hotel is free because we have Hilton points. Jan 9: BOARD our princess cruise ship!! It's a 7 night, and it only costed us 399 per person!!!!! (because airline employees can get discounts) Jan 10: at sea day...whatever we'll probably get massages Jan 11: GRAND cayman ISLANDS! I booked this thing with a local company where they take you out on a catamaran to a sand bar where sting ray congregate and swim with you then we go snorkel on a reef. Then, they put out the sail and we sail back with lunch. Spend the rest of the day in grand cayman..probably snorkeling or something Jan 12: HONDURAS!! we are going on a zip line from mountain top to mountain top. Not sure how long that will take but hopefully we can do something like go to the beach or something like that. Jan 13: COZUMEL Mexico! we're going to visit ruins in TULUM. they are so beautiful..right on the beach. cant wait for that. Jan 14 at sea. prob will tan on the boat or something jan 15: the princess cruise line private island... probably because they need to pick up supplies or something..whatever we will just go lay on the beach i bet because it will probably bee too touristy and expensive to do anything. plus its all with princess which equals rip off. My man (39) and I (32) have been together for a bit over a year. WE don't spend every night together-he is busy and sometimes I am too. We went on vacation together last month and he gave me a promise ring and said he wants to marry me. A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from two girls (Christina and Ellen, ages 30 and 28 respectively), describing a story about them and my guy in detail. Christina told me they were exclusive for almost 2 years and they broke up 2 months ago (two weeks before he gave me the promise ring!!!) Also, that for the past almost 2 years as well, he was visiting Ellen every couple of months in MIami and having a fullblown exclusive relationship with her as well. . She said the reason she is writing is to inform me that he has been cheating on her, me, and a third girl in Florida who he visits every couple of months as well. The Florida girl (Ellen) found her through her Myspace and let her know about everything!! He had told her that he didn’t have a myspace and when she dumped him plugged in his email address and found his myspace and Christina on it.They have both dumped him. He was telling them about the future too, taking them to the same places he was taking me and having the one that lives here over his house. She described the night she caught him with such detail-that the girl was on his red rug by his black leather couch, her pocketbook on his car magazines by the side table ( so much detail). She sent me pics of them together lovey dovey, all his texts to her that she uploaded-some explicitly sexual (with time and dates from last summer till this past June 2009!!!(About 100 texts). . Also she sent me an online profile that belongs to him on a dating site PLUS an email from the dating site confirming he has the profile active still!! She even told me that she had seen a text and missed call from a Crystal on his phone (me) and that he told her it was a girl with buddy was dating. On top of it, she knew I had gone to London in March somehow-she said that he told her “his buddy and his gf Crystal were in London.” I can’t believe he would say I was dating his friend!!!! What should I do now that he gave me the promise ring and says he wants a future?? But 2 weeks after the other one dumped him? I mean I got all this info-pics, texts with times and dates from him till recently, even the myspace convo where th FLorida girl found her asking her about him and if "she knew him." Resolved Question: Making a condo profitable?

I have a fairly nice 2 bedroom condo in Hilton Head. The resort has tennis courts, multiple pools, a gym, and a private beach. Right now I have a long-term renter in there (an awesome tenant) but I only gross 650/month. (He pays 725, rental management company gives me 650.) I really need to gross $1000 month to make it break even (which would cover mortgage, property tax, regime fees.) I currently owe the regime a lot of money $10,000+ due to 2 surprise assessments that I was told weren't going to happen when I purchased the property 2 years ago. Due to this, they've cut the cable off. I have about $3,000 in cash that I could use to spruce the place up and make it appeal more to short term vacation renters. It is already furnished. I have family in the Hilton Head area who could help with cleaning, turnovers, and whatnot. Should I take a risk and not renew my tenant's lease and try to rent it out short term for more money? The average weekly rental is about $700. That's more than what I make in a month right now. Would doing short term rentals be a big gamble? How can I be sure it's the right (or wrong) decision? more

Im a senior in High School this year. Last year 3 days before school ended my mom and her new husband decided to take us on a surprise early vacation. SO of course without realizing it i missed all my exams and received incomplete's in almost all classes and didnt get the credits for them classes. So now im 4 credits behind and my guidance counselor told me i wouldnt graduate this year even with my full schedule. I found a whelk about four days ago on vacation, but put it in the ocean because it had a snail inside of it (the whelk). My mom was so angry that she guilt-tripped my boyfriend and I for the last three days of vacation, pressuring us to go seashell hunting with her each night and morning (I am ran down and tired!) This morning, right before we left, we found two whelk shells on the beach (in the sand) that had hermit crabs inside of them. Because we are dumb*****, we decide to take them home in order to appease my mother. Plus, we figure, What they hey? Hermit crabs are easy pets, we will treat them well, and when they upgrade their shells my mom can have her whelk shells. Now that I am home (twelve hours from the beach on which I found them) and have access to my computer, I have a sick feeling in my stomach because I do not think they are regular land hermits. In fact, I think that they are a marine hermit called "Thinstripe Hermit." I cannot return these guys to the ocean at this point (I wish I could and would if I could), but I am not willing to let them die a slow and painful death because of my stupidity. I need to know how to care for them. I cannot get to the pet store until tomorrow. Right now they have a sponge soaked in water to drink from and food to eat. How long can these guys survive out of the ocean? What can I do to make a good habitat for them? Please, please help! It seems to be a puzzle to me why some people believe a profit based system is best. With all insurers charging the same amount within 2 or 3 percent of each other. Every insurer has pre-aproval guide lines on tests and procedures. I really don't understand the idea that insurers by being for profit work to satisfy customers. You pay for insurance upfront, so they already have your money. when you need care and they rescind your policy where is the custormer service. I would disagree with anyone believing that insurance companies rely on customer service or pleasing policy holders. I would agree that Ford motor company wants to please those buying a new car. Hilton Hotels does care about customer service. This is because I don't have to buy a new car or a Ford. I don't have to stay at a Hilton or any hotel. There is nothing forcing me to buy a car or take a vacation. ON the other hand If I become ill or suffer an injury of which I have no control over I will need medical care. At which time I will become responsible for paying what my health insurance does not pay. Generally we don't even pick the hospital we are taken to. usually it is the one we can be taken to the quickest.in addition the number of insurers has been drastically reduced through mergers and aquisitions. Resolved Question: If the American Dream is accessible through hard work...why is the middle class so large?

Conservatives act like their rich friends should be almost exempt from paying taxes because "they worked hard to acheive the American Dream and they should be allowed to keep what they earned"...as though hard work is all it takes to rake in the Mega-Bucks. Not sure on the EXACT percentages...but 10% poor, 10 % rich and 80% middle class is close enough. Those 80% in the middle class mostly all have jobs, and mostly all are hard workers...so why are they middle class? Why are there so many employees in America and so few Business Owners? What, exactly, does it take for Americans to partake in the American Dream? It certainly is not as simple as hard work or there would be 40 to 50% in the Rich column....not less than 10%. Maybe the 80% middle class are just too lazy? Why isn't every hard worker rewarded Bill Gates style? Any American Dream touting Conservative willing to admit it takes more factors than just hard work for the AVERAGE American to earn a million dollars? And by Average I do not mean Paris Hilton....or GW Bush. Lazy schlubs born with a silver spoon in their mouths do not count as Americans who earned the American Dream through hard work. And for the Conservatives who do dare to answer honestly...why aren't you a multi-millionaire yet, certainly those who tout the hard work will get you to the top line are hard workers right? So why is the American Dream eluding you? Why are you posting on the internet instead of vacationing in the Tropics? The plain and simple truth of the matter is million dollar success depends upon MANY factors, not just hard work...those other factors (timing, luck, capital investment, market fluctuations, business connections, etc..) are possible in America in ways that no other country can match. If Bill Gates was a Russian, there is a good chance Russia would own Microsoft and Gates would have "disappeared" long ago....there is a debt owed not just to America, but to your fellow Americans if you are one of the lucky few who get all the factors lined up and have some luck on your side.
