Okay if you don't believe me fine, but I swear to god cross my heart, and holy bible this is a 100% true story!!! In 2001 when I was 6 years old my dad took me to go see Paul McCartney at The Hard Rock Caffe in London, and after the concert I got to meet Paul!! Me, and my dad were sitting at the bar eating after the show, and over to the bar comes Paul, and he sits right next to me! Paul, my dad, and I start getting into a conversation for about 15 minutes, and then when I had to leave I got my picture taken with him, he signed my forehead, and napkin, and I hugged him, and he kissed me on the cheek!!!!! I am serious!!! I wouldn't lie to you!!! By the way, I still have the napkin!!! How much do you think it would be on Ebay :-) I met Kim Kardashion( however you spell the girls last name ) coming out of her Hilton Hotel, when I stayed in Miami for a summer vacation this June. I don't even really care for her, but I was like "Hey your that Kim girl" " Yep that's me! " she said. Resolved Question: Period while on vacation with friend's family?

So my period is late (probably stress) so odds are I'll be on vacation at Hilton Head when it comes. How can I make it not so obvious I'm on my period? It would be SO much easier if it was my family and I wouldn't worry as much. I don't even want to tell my friend because we aren't REAL close and we don't talk about that kind of stuff. Now I'm stressed out and worried about this and I don't even want to go now. I'll use tampons so I can swim (and I like them more than pads). So basically how can I make it not so obvious? Any tips? I personally find it offensive when some Europeans on here stereotype the US as ignorant fools who act like Paris Hilton and eat at McDonald's... come on, you have to know the whole country is not like that, and you just haven't met a good American... But today, one of my highly educated bosses at my company proved me wrong. He has an MBA from a good American school, and he went to Spain for vacation with his family. Not to mention he completely ignored all my suggestions (having lived in Spain for 2.5 years) of places to go, he went explicitly to all the tourist places I told him NOT to go, and spent so much money.... Then he said he didn't even enjoy it. He didn't enjoy the beauty of Spanish guitar. And he told me he fed his kids McDonalds before going to a real Spanish restaurant just in case the kids didn't like it, they didn't have to eat it. He picked MCDONALDS over SPANISH FOOD???? I felt I was going to throw up!! And he said he "dressed down" so that the Spanish wouldn't see him as a "rich American" (though, he is pretty well off...). I felt offended that a well educated American like him would think that all foreign places want American money and think we are so rich. Where do they learn this? I am glad I don't watch TV enough to be brainwashed by American programming thinking everyone wants to be us, and European food and music is weird, and McDonald's is good.... So, I'm sorry, Europeans, for trying to defend my country... If you haven't been here, I wish you would know how wonderful the US could be, if we just got rid of the attitudes and ignorance.... hope you meet a good American someday to prove me wrong... more

Resolved Question: Roomsaver giving out coupons that Hilton will not honor?

I recently went to roomsaver.com to find coupons for a trip to South Padre Island. I found one coupon for the Hilton Garden Inn for $64.99 per night based on double occupancy and on a walk in basis. I presented the coupon to the desk clerk and before even seeing the coupon she said "that is not our coupon and we did not authorize it nor will we accept it". She then told me to call the main office for Hilton Hotels which I did. The woman on the phone for Hilton said that I would have to contact roomsaver if the hotel I was at refused to honor the coupon. Roomsaver checked into it and called me back telling me that they had made a mistake and that it was too bad but nothing could be done. I was furrious that they had lured me into a $190.00 per night room with a great coupon and she said that the coupons encourage you to call ahead and make sure the rooms are available but they did not, it stated that it was on a walk in basis only and that you could call for reservations at a different rate. Do not trust Roomsaver.com for your room coupons or Hilton to honor them. Is there anything that I can do since I was seriously put out for our family vacation? I did not stay at the Hilton by the way, we went down to the La Copa Inn and had a very pleasant stay at a little less per night. more

My family has been looking around for a place to stay in Florida. We have spent the last 8 years going to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, but we are going to try something new this year. We have found some nice hotels in Palm Beach, Boca Ray, and Delray, but I am just wondering if anyone has any other nice places to go. We have also checked out Sanibel and Captiva Island. It has to be on the ocean, and we don't want a place that is too ritzy because we don't want to have to dress up everywhere we go. Also, it would be great if you could name places located on the Atlantic side. You can give me some nice beaches, hotels, condos, etc. Thank you so much for your help! more

Voting Question: Move or not to move, that is the question.?

My husband and I are currently living in Virginia Beach, and we hold decent jobs... Well for us anyways. We're housekeepers at the Hilton Hotel. Our rent is 900 a month plus electric, gas, and internet. In December our lease is up, but we plan to go to school a state away in January(so a job as a housekeeper won't be considered 'decent' pay anymore). There's a possibility of us going to live with my parents in September, not have to pay rent, just clean and take the trash to the dump. I will find a job, or continue on sewing, selling my novelty hats and sweaters(which I can make more money off of because I'll more time). The main goal is to save up $1000 or more before we move in January. Which I can do without moving to my parents house, but would be easier and faster, with the possibility of saving much more by then. Should I move and break the lease? A few more things I have to consider. My plates for my car are registered in NC, where my parents live and they expire at the end of August. I know if I move (at least by the end of August) I can just renew my plates. If I can't I have to spend money on an inspection, registration, title transfer, new state plates for Virginia, and license to only have it changed in Jan again. The early termination clause in the lease states I need to pay any outstanding rent(which we have none, we never were, never will be, late on a payment) and a termination fee of up to two months rent, which for us will be 1800. We don't have that kind of money, we're living paycheck to paycheck as it is. I could try and get a loan but that would seem a little redundant because I'll be applying for more loans for school come January(though I do plan having a part-time job while I go to school). The idea however is still in my head if I can do it. I have no credit history except for the very little I have built up since Jan of this year with internet and electric in my name, and my name on a lease. I'll probably more likely get one if my husband and I co-sign on one with our bank, Navy Federal. My mom is sick and would appreciate the help around the house, run errands, and drive her to doctor's appointments. Not as important, but I also miss my friends and sometimes get lonely. Having a little vacation spent right before I plunge into four years of college sounds really nice to me. However, I'm willing to do what ever is best for us.P.S. Getting married is actually helping me pay for school better. I'm not 24 yet and my parents made over 100,000 last year, so there's no way I'd get financial aid. This way it's based off our crummy income.Well, I can get a loan and someone who I trust pointed out to me something very important. If we stay the lease makes us spend 4500. If we get a loan, we only spend 1800, plus the interest. My husband and I can handle that kind of loan, and we have a co-signer, better then the rent we dish out every month. Plus I can still keep my job and still be saving money, because I don't have to pay rent where I live and just pay a little more in gas money for my car. I think I have my answer but if anyone else can think of anything, it's appreciated. more

I am on vacation with my family at hilton head island. everyday we go swimming at the pool or beach because it is a lot of fun. My boyfriend gets pissed off because i am in a bikini in public. he wants me to wear a one piece with shorts but i have always worn a bikini. and there is nothing wrong with it. and he asks me insulting and rude questions like "so how many people did you have sex with in the pool?" he thinks the pool is one big sex thing but no i'm just swimming and hanging out with my sister. and now he is trying to back fire by eating nothing but junk food because he knows that i ask him to at least take vitamins or eat fruit everyday to stay a little healthy and i do that for his sake but now he is only eating crap to back fire. more

Back in the 80's we had just gotten into "Timeshare", and traded for the Marriott Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island.When we got up on our last day we both got it into our heads we still had one more day, and went out to the golf course for one last round. Upon our return there was a nasty note under the door with instructions to contact the desk.We explained that we loved the place so much we lost track of the time, and even offered to give them a free testimonial for a commerical. Nothing we could say could make them happy, so we packed up and left never to return. We still go to Hilton Head, though, every other year. But, we have never again had such a terrific vacation.The question arises because we just returned from a place that was quite opposite, and reminded us of our previous good fortune. more

My 14 year old daughter and I are going on a trip to Hilton Head and she asked two of her friends if they would like to come along (which I gave her permission to do). They accepted and I'm now wondering if you would expect their parents to chip into the cost. I know for sure they would be bringing extra cash for food and little things (about $30 extra), but if we offered should they be helping out with the cost of the hotel, activities, etc ? Have 3 other friends who might be able to go to Vegas with me for sure for couple of days. Staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on Las Vegas Strip. Also got this really cheap airfare of $59.00 one way from San Francisco and back (total - $139). Regardless, I'm still willing to go alone if they decide to all back out. I'm 14. I'm not an only child, but I feel like one. My parents are going to the usa for the summer and I want to go with them because they're visiting cool places like nyc, la and hawaii. When there's money in a country so big with 300 million people, why not circle that money around and let everyone share in it? 1) There are homeless people who are sleeping on the streets while CEOs are on ski vacations with their private jets. 2) There are art history majors and dance majors and philosophy majors working at McDonalds because they can't get hired elsewhere, why not let them have something for their hard work? 3) Some Americans have big hearts and spend weeks at a time composing beautiful poems, why can't they then get rewarded with 200,000 dollars a year? 4) Then there are jockey celebrities like Paris Hilton and Brittney Spears making multi-millions. Why are Conservatives okay with rewarding some personalities and not others? Why is it bad to be an artist? Why can't all these people be equally wealthy in their endeavors? why can't we spread wealth to help everybody prosper instead of just the rich?if you are a poet, you should be able to get a government job reciting poetry to create spirituality in Government offices, and they should be paid Government salaries of $85,000 per year....does this not sound reasonable? more

My husband (of 11 years) and I was on vacation a few weeks ago in Hilton Head and we stayed at the Hilton Resort. One night, I was too tired to go to a hotel bar/lounge after dinner, so I told him to go ahead and I went back to our room to rest, ended up felling asleep for couple hours. My husband was still not back by the time I woke up at 10:30pm, so I went back to the bar but did not find him there. I found him in the nearby outdoor lounge in the corner talking with a "less than" desirable looking woman (wearing overly exposed dress & trashy). He didn't even realize I was approaching until I was standing right in front of him with a looks to kill. I didn't miss a look of slight panic crossed his expression. This woman was obviously very drunk, so I offered to help escort to her room but she wasn't even a patron at the resort---she said she lives "nearby" and just happened to be at the bar that night (yeah, sure, very convincing). I wouldn't talk to my husband after we were back in our room. He said she followed him when he went outside to smoke and asked him for a cigarette, wasn't talking to her very long before I got there and pleaded that he wasn't doing anything he is ashamed of. I cooled my temper by next morning --- didn't want to ruin our vacation. We have been back home for a few weeks and we went on to live our normal routine, so he probably thinks I believed his explanation and everything is okay. Well, I want to believe him but that "panic look" is still bothering me. A lot could happened while I was out cold for 2 hours. Should I let it go? For the track record, he has been a very good & faithful husband since we got married 11 years ago but he did cheat on me once with his ex while we were still dating. more

For our honeymoon we've decided to go for a week to Orlando and go to Disney, then drive to Miami to take a cruise through the Bahamas. My husband and I are going on vacation for our first wedding anniversary, and my parents in law are letting us use there Interval International Timeshare. We can pick anywhere that Interval International offers, but we would like to stay in the States. We were thinking of maybe going to North Carolina or possibly Georgia. We are going in June. Resolved Question: Where should my family go on vacation this fall?

It will be me (41), my mom (61), my sister (27) and her hubby (35). My mom will have to be in a wheelchair with her oxygen tank. We live in central Ohio and want to be able to drive there in less than 12 hours. I am trying to decide which would be a better place for my wife and I to take a short vacation. I would like something convenient for dining and shopping...for my wife. Also, does anyone know if either of these locations stays significantly more congested than the other. I am looking to go around mid-May. Any help and other suggestions are welcome! By the way, I need to stay in the general vicinity mentioned as I am going to be on a mid-tour deployment leave and time is of the essence. Thanks all! more

Resolved Question: Where should I take a weekend vacation-Jacksonville Fl, Amelia Island, Hilton Head or Charleston area?

So I am trying to plan an inexpensive vacation using frequent flyer miles and hotel points. Because of this I am very limited to where I can go. My FF miles can get me to Charleston, Savannah or Jacksonville airports for the weekend after Easter. If we flew into Jacksonville I can get a hotel on Amelia Island, Jeckyll Island, downtown Jacksonville, Villano Beach or near Jacksonville Beach. If we flew into Charleston our points let us stay in the outskirts of Charleston like Daniel Island, West Ashley. If we flew into Savannah we could get outskirts of Savannah or Hilton Head Island near the HHI airport (looks to be about a mile from the water) or downtown Beaufort. We plan to spend most of our time outside (including eating meals if possible) Not interested in museums or anything indoors. We love hiking, sitting on the beach, outdoor sightseeing of any kind, grabbing a drink on an outdoor patio. We also want to eat at some nice restaurants. We realize that since we can’t get an ideal hotel location that we may have to drive to see places. Looking for opinions on if any of these places would be good for outdoor people. I’ve read pros and cons on Amelia Island (some say boring, nothing to do and others say it’s nice). Wasn’t sure if downtown Jacksonville would be a fun place to stay and walk around in and then drive out to the beach. Wasn’t sure if the other beach towns near Jacksonville would be fun. I don’t know anything about Charleston, Savannah or Hilton Head. I’ve heard of Hilton Head for golfing but wasn’t sure if it would be fun otherwise, especially given that the hotel wouldn’t be on the beach. Any opinions any has on any location, good or bad, would be very helpful! more

Resolved Question: any suggestions for vacation with husband in southeast?

My husband and I live in SC, and we can't seem to agree on a vacation spot. We want to go for a long weekend (Thurs-Sun) in the early fall (Sept. or Oct.), and we don't want to go to florida (too expensive). We'd like to probably spend about $500 total, but we just can't agree on a place. We've thought of Hilton Head, but I've heard there's not much to do, and we've talked about Helen...any somewhat close ideas? more

Resolved Question: HHonors, Hilton Points Question?

I have made 2 reservations for an upcoming vacation at 2 different Hilton locations through Travelocity. There was no where to enter my HHonors # when making these reservations. So my question is...Will the hotels credit my points to my account at check in even though I paid for these stays online? I don't want to miss out on over 5,000 HHonors points. Anyone know?I booked through Travelocity rather than through Hilton because I received some credits through Travelocity for another booking that was incorrect, a mistake on their part. I guess I will miss out on the points but it was by far a better deal to use our credits to book these stays on Travelocity vs booking through Hilton like we usually do. more
