I stayed at a 5 star resort in Spain last year. Why did I do this? Well I own my own business, I work hard and smart and I make decent money. Ok...so I'm to ashamed to call the hotel and ask this question for fear of looking like a complete moron for when we show up there within the next 2 weeks...but here goes. I made a reservation with an Ocean Resort/Spa for our vacay this yr. Our first vacation in 3 yrs. Anyway, per policy the first night had to be paid for upfront which I did. I gave all of the needed info and received a confirmation # and an email. Now I paid for the first night on my debit b/c I no longer use credit cards...completely canceled them all. In reading over the standard policies I noticed that upon arrival that a major credit card has to be provided along with a drivers license. Here's where the discrepancy comes in...I say that it's no big deal that I don't have a credit cards anymore that my debit and license will be enough. My husband says that he'll have to show his credit card for use or we wouldn't be able to stay. I think he's wrong? So can anyone help us out?For Wrestling Star...I'm far from being stupid...My point was that a hotel wouldn't turn away a potential customer if a credit card is not provided by one or the other. No the world does not revolve around me nor you for that matter. And for those that think it's crazy not to have a credit card...think about it like this...I have no debt anymore either :-) more

Starting my vacation at a seaside resort town near me. This afternoon's game plan involves a popular beach bar for an early happy hour. Now my question: Most of the women there will be wearing bikini's or scantily dressed in some form. Now when I start talking to them, how am I supposed to be sincere in that reason I wanted to talk to them was ANYTHING other then the fact they were half naked? Obviously I'm not going to blurt it out, but how can I be expected to be interested in anything else but sex with them? I mean, let's be honest - if they are parading around practically naked, they are obviously looking for attention and you could surmise they are probably self centered - two not so great personality characteristics. Why can't women just accept that they are bascially pieces of meat, especially in these types of situations? more

H i guys, about 3 years ago I've signed up to Wyndham vacation resorts. It's basically time share business, all around the world. The problem is I took it at the time for my girlfriend was from fiji and it seemed good for her to go there at cheap rates. But since separated, got it back in my name and want to get out of it. Resolved Question: Are all-inclusive resorts worth the price?

My family (2 adults, 2 teenage boys), are considering Beaches in Jamaica for our first-ever real vacation. We have only done weekend camping and weekend beach trips over the years. Beaches is expensive, but with the activities they offer (like scuba diving, water park) and the food and drinks being included, it might actually be a better deal than paying for all those things separately. Has anyone been to Beaches? Any input would be greatly appreciated. more

I need a little help with planning a trip to orlando with my 5 year old son. Its our 1st time going to Orlando, Florida :) I have only booked my flights so far, could anyone recommend a good hotel for the 1st two weeks of march 2011? I was about to book Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orlando - Orange Lake Resort, which looks like a great resort, our own kitchen (to save a bit of money) and the pools and everything looks amazing..however after reading reviews on trip advisor there seems to be a LOT of extra costs, like $9 a day for tubes for the lazy river and $15 each for a shuttle bus to the disney parks etc. :/ and i plan to go to the disney parks almost everyday for the 2 weeks! My friend told me some hotels offer free shuttle buses to the parks and i came across Gaylord Palms, another gorgeous hotel but they only have small rooms with no kitchen so we'll have to eat out everynight. I've searched the internet and the two best hotels i could find (in my price range was these 2 hotels). Would it be too much hassle maybe booking 1 week in the Holiday Inn, Orange Lake and 1 week in Gaylord Palms? As we'd get free shuttles in one hotel and great pools in the other! Or should i book into the same hotel for the 2 weeks? I'm so confused! Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels? Could anybody recommend any other good hotels around the disney area, preferably with free shuttles to the parks, and good pools, and lots of things to do at the hotel, as i plan to spent the rest of the holiday relaxing at the hotel. Also Im not goin to rent a car as its only me and my son and with the cost of parking at disney, fuel and the Daily Surcharge for drivers under 25, it wouldnt be worth it. Whats the weather like the 1st two weeks of March? Also which parks would you recommend for a 5 year old? Ok please don't say I am spoiled I am just curious about why my dad is acting like this. EVERY Summer My family or just me go on a vacation. But this Summer my dad keeps on changing the plan. I am not so much worried about going on a vacation as much to why he is doing this. First, back in April he said we are going to Hawaii for a Wedding. Then he said he fired the guy. When I tried asking him this he said what are you talking about? I told you guys you will go to LA. Resolved Question: Payment dilemma for vacation?

For our wedding gift, my parents gave me and my husband a week at their timeshare, where we can chose anywhere we want to go. We couldn't afford airfare or a rental car at the time, so we put it off for a later date. We will be going in October of this year as kind of a vacation. Now we've incurred problems paying for our airfare and rental car. We have all the money needed, no problem (we've been saving for 2 years). But our bank will only allow us to put $500/day on our debit card, and the total cost is way more than that. Our only credit card only has a $500 limit, and were not going to open a new one just for one vacation. So we have no real way to pay for it. My parents offered to let us use their credit card if we pay them the cash up front (which is no issue), but they refuse to let us use their cc number online. Over the phone or through a travel agent is the only way they will do that (they are older, and there is no convincing them otherwise). They keep telling us to go through their travel agent. She booked a trip for is several years ago, and we got royally screwed over on the rates (we paid the same amount we could have booked the nicest suite in the hotel for online for the crappiest rooms they had available). Needless to say, we do not want to repeat the experience. My parents have the money to have someone else do it for them, and don't have to worry about every penny. We do not have that luxury. So I guess my question is, is there any of the discount travel sites that will except my parents credit card when they will not be traveling, and can do it over the phone? Or any sites that will take direct transfers from a bank account (we can do that for more than $500 a day through the bank, but visa put the limit on the debit card)? Or just any other suggestions how to do this without paying the ridiculous fees of a travel agent? Also, I don't need to hear about how we manage our money, or the fact we only have 1 low limit credit card. We do great financially, and could have a higher limit card, but don't care to have that kind of temptation. And as I said, we have all the money to cover the trip and then some,, but sadly, no one takes cash anymore. And as one final note, the resort is free, since it is a timeshare and my parents "gifted" us the week. All we have to pay is taxes, and if we use room service or resort amenities. more

Resolved Question: Book Title Needed for Crime/Mystery/Suspence Short story...ideas?

Hi I've already written one short story that I've titled Red Butterfly. I've now written two using the same main characters. Each short story is a crime-mystery-suspence tale... Story 1 - This story is about a satanic cult who are murdering people in hopes of gaining power from the Dark Lord. The main characters: Kita and Eric are both bounty hunters who work as freelance P.I's for Kita's sister's angecy. Kita and Eric are put on the case to capture the leader of the cult before the cult kills again. Very simple and straight forward plot line. Story 2 - This story is about when Kita and Eric go on an Island vacation and stumble upon a dead maid at their resort. As more bodies appear on the island, Kit and Eric realize they're dealing with a serial killer. They become involved with the case and assist the police in stopping the killer. Any ideas for the titles? Something interesting and attention drawing would be great. For example: Red Butterfly was titled because of the calling card left by the killer in the story - an image of a red butterfly. My husband and I are taking a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera in October and we are trying to plan how much extra cash we need to bring. I rarely drink, my husband tends to drink a little more on vacation but no more than around 3 or 4 drinks a day, no spa or ship pictures, were thinking of having dinner at the steakhouse on board twice (30/person/night), we aren't doing any of the ship excursions and the trips we have planned revolve around sitting on a beach either at a resort that offers day passes or a locals beach (both our last vacation and our vacation after this were/will be very busy and we were so tired after we got back), we dont generally buy a lot of souvenirs (especially in mexico since we have already been)..the only other thing we will be spending money on will be the casino for my husband. dipping and my cousins daughter who is 16 was offended i have talked about it and my son now understands it was wrong. But the problem I have is how his wife and my brothers friends daughters reacted. Okay. I'm taking a quick one week vacation to Mexico. But don't know where I should go. It's down to Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta... and Riviera Nayarit I guess because it's so close. Now, I don't want to be stuck on the resort so I was hoping to have a downtown that's within walking distance to check out. How Cabo is set up is a good example but I have obviously already been there. The only other all-inclusive I went to was so massive, like it's neighbours, that it was impossible to leave the resort and check out the town. I intend on going on excursions but want the flexibility to check out shops, "real" mexican food and meet some locals at my will. Are either of these towns better than the other in terms of freedom without having to rely on third-party transportation? more

My boyfriend has been literally almost everywhere in the world EXCEPT Disney World. When he told me I couldn't believe it, because Disney is something I think everyone should experience. So I want to take him there at some point in November or December as his birthday present. We're students, but we have a decent income but I can't really spend huge amonts on the trip. I've been looking and I actually can't seem to find any couples vacation deals for Disney World-- it's all family ones. Does anyone know where I can find couples deals that aren't too expensive? Or would it be cheaper to just stay at a resort in Orlando and just pay for Disney passes seperately? more
